Chapter 16: The Training Continues.
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha
Walking outside and coming to a small clearing that was surrounded by trees and covered in different types of wild flowers. Kagome walked to the center then turned to face everyone. "Now, knowing the basics of what to avoid and how to kill bad vampires, um, bad vampires-who wants to go against me first?"
Inuyasha smirked giving off a 'keh' before raising his hand, saying-"I'll go first. It can't be too hard, right?"
Kagome's lips kicked up at the corners before she got into a fighting stance waiting for the countdown watching as Inuyasha did the same. "Don't get too cocky, now." She said as her mother stepped forward to count them down.
"Keh." Inuyasha scoffed, a smile playing on his lips.
"One, two, three-fight!" Kaori counted down before swinging her arm down in a chopping motion on the word 'fight.'
Inuyasha lunged forward running towards Kagome, wondering to himself why she wasn't moving, but smiling smugly at him. When he got into reaching distance of her-he reached out to grab her wrist, but instead grabbed a fistful of air. He was stunned as he stared into the empty space that-only just a second ago he swore there was a black hair, brown eyed girl standing right there. 'Where'd she go?' He pondered turning around only to get kicked in to chest and sent several feet back hitting his back against a tree with a oomph.
"Come now, little brother, surely you can't be so weak as to let a woman get the better of you." Sesshomaru taunted, fighting to keep a smirk off of his face.
"Shuddup." Inuyasha said standing up and shaking his head and looking up to gaze at the woman who had just put him on his ass with a wide smile on his face and the only thing that he could think of saying was "damn."
Standing back up, Inuyasha got back in fighting stance. "Again."
Smiling Kagome got into stance as well, waiting for her mother to countdown again.
"One, two, three-fight!" Kaori shouted doing the chopping motion again.
This time Inuyasha was surprised when he watched as Kagome sprinted towards him. Before he could do anything he felt as Kagome placed her hands on his shoulders before kicking off and flipping over his head twisting in air before wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck and clinging to his back. Stretching her neck up to whisper 'got ya' in his ear.
Grinning a half grin Inuyasha turned to face her, damn-this woman was something that Inuyasha couldn't quiet put his finger on, yet, but he was determine to figure out what it was. 'And best believe, I will figure out what this feeling is.' He thought then said out loud when she jumped off his back. "One more time."
Kagome's smile stretched across her face as she got back into her stance and watched as Inuyasha did the same.
Kaori came to stand between them. "One, two, three-fight."
Thinking quick on his feet, Inuyasha watched and calculated Kagome's each breath, step and movement that she made. When she moved so did he and when she tried to get her arms around him he side-stepped her and when she tried to land a kick on him he did some type of maneuver to avoid getting the shit kicked out of him again. He cursed under his breath as he tried to come up with someway to come out as the victor in this round. He ran and she matched his speed-he jumped and she met his height. He didn't see anyway to beat her, then he got an idea.
Stopping on a dime with out any warning, Inuyasha watched as Kagome zipped right passed him-he then jumped into the trees. Jumping from limb to limb he watched as Kagome skidded to a stop looking around for him-having not seen him jump into the trees and hiding himself within the branches and leaves.
Trying to find the best angle to win this match Inuyasha whispered 'aha' when he found it. He jumped down from the trees-taking Kagome completely by surprise-he shoved his hand to her chest making her fall backwards and hit her back against the ground making her release a grunt when her back made contact with the ground. Grinning triumphally, he lowered his head to her ear while he moved his hand up toward her neck before wrapping his fingers loosely around her throat. "Got ya."
Kagome had never felt like this before, running along Inuyasha sparked something deep within her and it set her soul ablaze. Whatever she was feeling-she never wanted it to end. She felt as if she could run side-by-side Inuyasha to the end of time and she couldn't even figure out why she felt like that. 'Oh, but I will.' She thought then smiled up to him as everyone shouted out in cheers.
Inuyasha helped Kagome off the ground. "That was a really good strategy, Inuyasha! Good job." She said smiling a huge brilliant smile that took Inuyasha's breath away.
Trying desperately hard to remember how to breathe, Inuyasha couldn't do anything but nod dumbly at her.
Her smile widened as she turned to look back at the crowd. "Okay, who's next?"
Please review. Until next time, bye!
