Chapter 19: Our Happy Ever After!

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha!

A/N: I'm so sorry for the long wait! I had computer trouble :-( I want to apologize ahead of time-I'm no good with fight scenes so sorry if the fight scene seems rushed and just plain awful.

There-chained to the wall-was Kagome's father; looking quite beaten with more bruises than skin. His left eye was swollen shut his nose looked broken and his lip was swollen and busted open.

"What the fuck are you doing here and where is the guards?" Naraku bellowed out then he heard the high-pitched screams of what sounded like two women. Everyone that was present looked-just in time-to see Sango's hands down each of the guards' pants and their eyes rolled in the back of their heads with pained expressions on their faces.

Sango looked at the others with a disgusted look on her face and walked her way to the room not bothering to look back as she heard two separate thuds land on the floor. "Disgusting men." She muttered as she took in the scene in front of her and her face turned from disgusted to horror as she took in the state of Kagome's father.

Without making another thought Taisho and the others charged forward and a great battle was started.

-X-

Wandering around the halls aimlessly, Kagome's group heard the high-pitched screaming and decided that, that was their best bet to follow the screams. Kagome thought that maybe someone either ran into a guard or perhaps found her father-and her thought were right as her group rounded a corner and saw two men laying on the ground clutching their man hoods as well as a great battle going on.

Kagome didn't think when she ran into the battle the only thought she had was getting her father back. She took hits-as everyone else did too-but she didn't care, she knew she'd fight to the death for someone she cared about with her whole being.

As Kagome was about to take someone down with a kick to the side of their face-her breath was taken right out of her lungs when she felt a kick or a punch-she wasn't sure-to her side and she fell to the ground. Before she was able to regain her breath and stand the person that kicked her threw his body on top of hers pushing even more air out of her lungs.

"I should have fucking killed you and your bitch of a mother when they told me that they were pregnant with a half-blood!" Naraku roared as he placed his hands around Kagome's neck preventing her airway to remain open.

Kagome tried clawing at his hands and face as well as trying to kick and twist her body to kick him off, but no matter how hard she tried-Naraku seemed unfazed. Just as her vision grew blurry and she was about to black out-Naraku's body was thrown off of her.

As Kagome sucked in lungful after lungful of air Kagome looked to her side and watched as Inuyasha stabbed Naraku in the heart, tore his head off and set him on fire. She then watched as he ran back towards her and bend down to look in her eyes.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha asked with worry clear in his voice. "Are you alright?"

Kagome sucked in another breath and let it out slowly. "Yeah, I'm alright."

Inuyasha breathed a sigh of relief as he helped her up. They looked around and saw the fight was pretty much over-with more than ten separate fires blazing and the stench of death in the air.

Wanting to get out of there as fast as possible Inuyasha ran to where Kagome's unconscious father was chained up and felt his pulse point.

"He's alright." Inuyasha nodded to himself. "He's just knocked out." He continued as he began unchaining him.

Kagome ran up beside Inuyasha and felt the tears run unchecked down her face as she took in the condition of her father. Sure, vampires healed at faster rates than mortals, but with these kinds of wounds even a vampire will take a month-maybe even two-to be completely healed.

"Oh, daddy. What did they do to you?" Kagome whispered and sniffled.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome with concern leaking out of his eyes. He reached out to cup Kagome's cheek so she would look at him. "Come on, let's get your father home." He whispered to her when she did look at him.

Nodding to Inuyasha Kagome watched as he unchained the last chain that was holding her father captive and then left.

As they pulled up at Kagome's house; Taisho and Sesshomaru carried the still unconscious Mr. Higurashi inside and laid him on the couch.

Kaori walked past them and ambled into the kitchen to make a fresh pot of tea. As she was putting the kettle on the stove Kagome walked in behind her. She sucked in a shaky breath when she felt Kagome's arms wrap around her shoulders and her daughters head lay on her shoulder. She lifted her hands to wipe away tears that threatened to fall then turned to pull Kagome in a tight hug.

"Oh, Kagome, he'll be okay-you'll see." Kaori answered smoothing her hair back.

As the two women pulled away the kettle let out a loud whistle telling them that it was done.

As Kaori poured the last glass and set it on the tray, Inuyasha came into the kitchen.

"He just woke up." Inuyasha said grabbing the tray from Kaori's hands and carrying it himself.

Running into the living room Kagome knelt down in front of her father asking him what happened and why he was in the state he was in when they found him.

Letting out a sigh and accepting the cup of tea his wife handed him-he looked down into the dark depths of the tea while he gathered his thoughts. "When we got back to the coven Naraku tried to force me to get the humans, but I refused-they only said that I must come with them to ensure your safety, they never said I had to do what they wanted when I got there. Anyway, he didn't like that and got extremely pissed, he threatened me with my life, but I knew you all were safe, so I didn't care what happened to me. When he saw that he had no effect over me he seemed to lose control and started beating me and had the others chain me to the wall. Once on the wall, he still ordered me to go get humans-saying if I agreed than he would unchain me and pay me wealthily. I still refused so he had me beat within an inch of my life."

Kaori gasped in horror and Kagome let out a chocked sob prompting Inuyasha to wrap his arms around her and rub her back as he emitted a soft rumble from his throat hoping that it would calm her down some.

"Well," Kaori said as she cleared her throat. "Everything is fine and back to normal now-no sense in dwelling over the past so I'm going to make dinner for everyone here."

After dinner Taisho stood up and announced that it was time for his family to leave. As Inuyasha stood up Kagome grabbed his hand making him look back at her.

"Can we talk for a minute?" Kagome asked him.

"Sure." Inuyasha nodded following Kagome into the kitchen. "So, what did you want to talk abo-" He was cut off as Kagome threw herself at him and wrapped her arms around his waist and started sobbing into his chest. He slowly brought his arms up and ran his claws through her hair as he emitted the same soothing sound from his throat as he did earlier.

"Shh, it's going to be okay." Inuyasha whispered as he started rocking them side to side.

"I just wanted to thank you for being there for me when I needed you." Kagome said between sobs and sniffles.

"I'll always be here for you, Kagome-as long as you want me here." Inuyasha said.

"I'll always want you." Kagome whispered.

Inuyasha's claws paused in her hair, and he pulled her back to look into her eyes. "What did you just say?" He whispered afraid that he heard her wrong.

"I said, Inuyasha, that I'll always want y-" Kagome was cut off when Inuyasha's lips landed on hers. She was shocked for a couple seconds but then relaxed into the kiss and started kissing him back. Her eyes slowly closed as she thought about their happily ever after-she was overfilled with happiness, after spending so many years thinking that she wasn't ever going to find love and she did after all.

The End. I hope you all enjoyed this story and again sorry for the wait for an update. I might make an epilogue to this but not sure yet. I'm also almost done with writing a part two for It's Destiny so keep an eye out for that! Please review and until next time, bye!
