Mr. Haney drove to the Douglas's house. He parked, got out, and knocked on the door.
Lisa answered it. "Hello, dere!" she said to him.
"Hi, Mrs. Douglas. Is your husband around?"
"No, he vent into town to run some errands."
"I see. Well, I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I would drop by and see if there's anything you need."
"Vell, actually dere is. I vas in need of a new pair of dress shoes. The ones I have are falling apart."
"Mrs. Douglas, you are in luck! I happen to have a pair of shoes that I think might be of interest to you. I'll be right back."
"Ok, Mr. Haney."
She went in the house, and he went his truck. Rummaging around, he came across a shoe box. He picked it up and brought it into the house.
"These shoes are handmade in Italy."
He opened the box and showed them to her. They were high-heeled strapless dress sandals. The band around the toes was made of a transparent plastic.
"Zay are beautiful!" said Lisa.
"Go ahead and try them on, Mrs. Douglas."
"I vill!"
She sat on the couch. She then slipped her shoes off and put those shoes on.
"Mrs. Douglas, they complement your pretty feet perfectly!"
She smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Haney!"
"How do they feel?"
"They hurt a little. But zhat's ok, dress shoes aren't supposed to be comfortable!"
"You're absolutely right! Walk around in them, a bit."
"All vright."
She got up and walked around for a bit. Then she sat back down and kicked the shoes off.
"I'll buy them!"
"Excellent! And they're on sale; normally, they're $500, but since you're one of my best customers, I'll let you have them for only $300."
"A great deal!"
"Why, that's a real bargaine!"
She got up (still barefooted) and walked over to her purse. She pulled out a wad of money and gave him $300.
"Thank you, Mrs. Douglas!"
"You're velcome, Mr. Haney! I guess I'd better get used to veering zhem!" She put the shoes back on.
"Well, unless there's something else you desire, I'll be leaving now."
"I can't wait to show zhem off to-what's-his-name!"
"I think he'll be very pleased!"
He left.
