He had to admit, it was quite a jolt walking into the infirmary that day. He was expecting pretty much everything but what he saw—Daniel, in pieces yet again, topped his list at number one to about sixty-four, while Samantha Carter bottomed out around 3, 429. Of course, he should have realized that his involvement in the Stargate Program guaranteed that the unexpected always happened, except when it came to the Goa'uld, of course.
The greatest surprise about Sam being in the infirmary was how she looked. Long, cared-for hair framed a familiar-but-unfamiliar face that had a little makeup on it. To be honest, the minute Jack saw her, his mind screamed, 'Soccer mom Sam!' And, indeed, this was exactly how he had envisioned what Sam would look like had she quit the Air Force and become a mom or, at very least, a wife.
What gave him more of a jolt, though, was the fact that he was right.

A little drabble on Point of View, written pretty late at night, so please excuse all punctuation errors. Written for challenge #3, jolt!
Before I leave to my bed, I'd like to give a big shout-out to everyone who reviewed Snapshots or The Dance—thank you all so much for your wonderful comments! I must admit, I squee most loudly every time I get a review. Well, I suppose this is what happened to all who are writers. But now I must leave before I fall asleep on my keyboard and terrible things happen. Adieu!
