I don't own any characters. They belong to Stephenie Meyer.

"Oh yes, pardon my manners. My name is James, this is Victoria." He gave a quick look at Jasper, Peter, and Charlotte, who were all crouching down in front of me, ready to attack if needed. "There is no need for hostility." I saw Victoria grabbing his hand and looking towards the forest. James shook his head.

"What is the purpose of your visit, may I ask? And how do you know me? I don't remember meeting you." I said when the silence became overbearing.

"Let's just say, we've met briefly in your human life." An evil grin appeared on his face.

"Bella, that's him. The vampire who abducted you. I should have known, should have recognized his smell." Jasper whispered. My mouth opened in shock. The man who was standing just a few feet away from me was the reason I died. He was the reason why I couldn't protect my Mary. I felt anger firing up in my body.

"You! I lost my sister because of you!" I yelled at the stranger and darted towards him. My hand found its place on his throat. "Give me one reason not to kill you right now." The woman was trying to reach, but Jasper held onto her arms, locking them behind her back.

"Well, your sister is still alive and well." He chuckled.

"I am not talking about Cynthia." I spat.

"And neither am I." My grip on his throat got looser, but I was still holding on to him. "One move and your head is going to fly off your shoulders." I threatened. "Now, talk!"

"Mary Alice is still alive. Well as much as you can call our way of living being alive." I looked at him curiously and nodded my head, telling him to continue. "After you got turned, I couldn't believe that I lost the game. No prey has ever escaped me before, and you smelled so good, I needed to taste you. But my plans were interrupted by him." James glared at my brother. "So, in a few years when I found out that you were no longer human, I returned to your house only to find an even better smell. Little Mary. Since I couldn't have you, I had to have her. I needed to taste her blood and get revenge that somebody got away from me for the first time. Unfortunately, your parents made it very hard for me. They locked her up in the house, she was not allowed to go out anywhere or see anyone. But those factors also made it more fun for me. I had time to come up with a plan, I waited and waited. Then I finally had the opportunity; however, your parents didn't give me the chance to act. See, Mary had premonitions, she knew that I was coming for her, she saw my plans every day, and eventually, she told your maid about them. The maid, naturally, told your parents, and they realized that her lunacy went too far. They gave her up to the asylum and put a tombstone with her name next to that place. They didn't want people to know about such shame on their family tree." I kept nodding. Even this little information about my little Mary meant the world to me.

"So, her grave was empty," I concluded. I was starting to get really angry with myself. Why haven't I checked the grave? It would have only taken me a few minutes to dig it up.

"Yes, it is indeed."

"What happened next? Where is she now?" I demanded answers, tightening my hand around his throat again.

"After your parents left, my game became even more complicated. Mary was always surrounded by doctors and nurses now; the guard patrolled the territory night and day. Of course, they were only human, so I came up with an elaborate plan on how to get inside the asylum and steal her. Only I was too late. She has told one of her doctors about me, about her vision of a man with red eyes drinking her blood. That doctor was one of our kind; however, he was able to control his blood lust really well because of his special diet." Special diet? I would have to think about that later. "He stole Mary before I could. Turned her into a vampire, so she didn't have to die. Of course, when I found them, I had to kill him for ruining my game for me. Mary ran off and I wasn't interested in finding her. At that point, my game plan changed."

"Then what are you doing here?" Jasper asked still holding Victoria's hands.

"Oh see, when I came back to the graveyard, I noticed that the tombstone was visited by vampires. And I recognized your smell." He said looking at Jasper. "I was tracking you for the past 15 years, but you never stayed long enough in one place, so it took me some time to catch up to you."

"So, you are here to fight me? You want to kill me just like you killed the doctor?" my brother asked.

"Only if you aren't a coward." James chuckled.

"I beat you once, I can do it again." Jasper's voice sounded serious. He let go of the woman, and Peter took his place enabling her to move once again. "Bella, let go of him."

"Are you sure?" I asked still holding my abductor by his neck. One nod from Jazz was all I needed.

"Let's dance." Said James and launched at his rival.

It really did look like a dance. A very fast one, too fast for a human eye, perfect for a vampire one. Even though Jasper hasn't been in a fight in more than 15 years, his skills were still astonishing. I myself could fight very well, having been trained by Jazz and fighting in battles alongside him. I knew my body and face were caring a few scars, just like his and Peter's and Charlotte's did. I could sometimes see mine in the reflection of water or when we came across a house that had a mirror in it. However, they were definitely less defined than Jasper's and there was definitely a lot less of them.

The fight only took about two minutes. James was not a skilled fighter has never been to war. His arms were scattered on the ground already when Jasper tore off his head.

"No!" a loud voice came from behind me. Victoria, having escaped from Peter's arms, was running at me. When she was a foot away, I reached my hand to grab her by the collar of her blouse. She flew over me and landed on the ground. I put my weight on her torso and growled. It only took a second for me to sink my fangs into her neck. I spit a big chunk of her skin onto the ground. Her screams filled the area. She was trying to fight me off, but I nailed her arms to the ground with my knees. Another bite to her neck finished the job. Her head was now a few inches away from her body. Her eyes, still open, read shock and disbelief. Yes, I too didn't think that this night will turn out to be like that.

I heard voices around me but I didn't understand what they were saying. I was concentrated on the only important thing. Mary is alive. My little sister is alive. And I will do everything in my power to save her.
