June 1975

It has been 25 years since Edward and I started dating and our family thought it would be good for us to go away for some time to celebrate it. I didn't understand why we had to travel for the celebration, nobody cared where we spent our ten- or twentieth anniversary. It was in the house watching TV. Edward, however, was excited about going to Isle Esme, which Carlisle bought for my 'mom' a few years ago. My mate said it was finally our turn, since we were the youngest couple, to visit the place. I wanted to make Edward happy, so now we were seating on the plane, which was full of humans, going to Brazil.

The flight was long, and we had to make several stops for the plane to refuel and for the passengers to roam around the airport to stretch their legs. Edward and I, who didn't need to stretch our legs, were still roaming around the airport to seem human. An older couple was following us around, they looked friendly and we made some conversations while we were standing next to the gate awaiting the boarding.

"Why Brazil?" The man asked.

"My parents have a cottage there; we are visiting to make sure everything is alright with the property." Edward lied.

"Oh, I see. So, you two are together then, not siblings?" The woman asked.

"We've been dating for a few years, ma'am." I smiled.

"Oh, how wonderful. You're a beautiful couple and your eyes." She continued.

"Thank you, you're very kind, but my Bella is the beautiful one, I only seem handsome in her light." Edward smiled at me.

"He's being modest," I told the older couple, but couldn't hide my own smile away.

We all looked at the steward when he arrived to let us on the plane again. Annabeth, the older woman, and I walked inside first. Her husband, Henry, held Edward by the hand, to stop him from following us.

"You better put the ring on that girl's finger, women don't like to wait." The older man whispered, but I could still hear it.

"I know, sir, and I will."

"Promise?"

"Promise." I heard Edward chuckle.

I was happy to hear the last part of the conversation. I know I was the one who didn't want to rush things and instead take them slowly, but 25 years? That's a lot of time to wait for a wedding even for vampires! I kept telling myself that we have forever and he'll ask when he asks, but the time kept going, and he still hasn't. Alice assured me that the day was coming, and Edward was just waiting for the right time. It didn't matter for me where or when he would propose. I would say yes in the forest during the hunt or in the middle of the grocery aisle when were pretend shopping. I wanted to connect with him so badly, to be his wife, his lawful partner in life, and attending first Kate's, then Irina's, and another Rose and Emmett's wedding definitely didn't help with the urge.

I knew there was a ring, it was hard not to know there was a ring with a prophet for a sister, not even mentioning the advanced hearing that I myself possessed. I even had information about the ring's whereabouts. I saw the box once in our closet, underneath his socks while cleaning. It took a lot of patience on my side to left it where it was. I didn't see it; never opened the box. I lifted it, and so the only thing I knew about it is that it was heavy for a ring.

Since then, the weeks were turning into months, and now two years later, and I still don't know what the ring looks like. Another reason for my urge to be married was the after part of it. Edward kept his promise and would not do anything that we were not supposed to be doing as a non-married couple, thus my underwear never left my body in his presence. We kissed, most of the time very passionately, and I was trying to make him break his beliefs about premarital sex, but he never budged.

Edward and Henry caught up to us when we took our seats. Annabeth went to sit on the left sight, leaving the aisle seat for her husband, and I did the same.

"Do you know how many planes crash every year?" Edward asked when he sat down.

"A lot?" I guessed.

"More than 200 in the last ten years."

"Fortunately for us, we can survive the fall." I gave him a sad smile.

"You know, I would save Henry and Annabeth, make sure they're unconscious when the plane starts falling, of course, and then jump out of the window with them."

"Really? You would do that?" I asked.

"Why not? Carlisle saves lives every day at work, I want to do that too."

"Too bad you're only seventeen," I smirked.

"You should hear what Henry thinks about Annabeth. It's truly amazing. For humans to love each other the way these two do. I'm no Jasper, but I can't say I hear thoughts like that very often. They were in love since college. Henry married Annabeth's roommate; she was a great girl, but he never lost his feelings for Annabeth. She married another man. Now they're both widowers, met again on the cruise five years ago, and the feelings came back again. They're doing it right this time, sold their houses, cleared their savings, and traveling the world."

"That sounds like a fairy tale." I smiled. "I should put some money into her purse when she isn't looking."

"That would be nice. They are thinking of visiting Germany next, maybe go to Italy and France during their time in Europe as well."

"What are they thinking about now?" I asked.

"Us. Henry doesn't want me to make the same mistake he did, wants me to make you mine as soon as possible. Annabeth is just excited to be on the boat, apparently, her first husband was a captain, so the company he worked for is letting them use it for a few days."

"You should listen to Henry. You never know, maybe I'll meet some exotic Amazonian vampire and run away with him." I joked and we both laughed.

"I would run after you and beg to come back to me for eternity." He pulled me into a sideways hug and kissed my head.

"That's not going to happen, no need to test your cardio skills." I laughed again.

The rest of the plane ride was calm, a little turbulence here and there, but overall, it was nice. Edward never let me go, so I closed my eyes and pretended I was asleep. We were still talking, but our mouths were moving so quickly, no other person on the plane could see them. The burning in my throat was consistently getting worse with every second of the plane ride, but I could handle that. It was just another way of practicing before Edward and I, along with our siblings, were going to start school in a few years.

Jasper had the hardest time adjusting, but he was doing great. No slips, a few close calls, but one of us were always there to stop him. I thought having such an intense and big support system would make it easier for him to move forward and not concentrate on his previous mistakes, and I was right. Alice alone was able to wipe off a frown on his face in a few minutes, but for others it took hours, and we usually ended up calling Mrs. Whitlock anyways.

The plane landed in Rio de Janeiro at midnight. Perfect for us, since we didn't need to hide away in the airport until the sun went down. Edward and I stepped out of the building and the hot humid climate of Brazil hit me like a wave. It felt like I couldn't breathe, so I wasn't sure how humans, who actually need air to survive, could live in this climate. Rio was loud and vibrant. Finding a taxi cab that would take us to the docks took a great amount of time, the drive there was even longer. People around us were walking and laughing. When we finally reached the waterfront, we put our suitcases into Carlisle's boat, which he kept at the docks, and Edward started the motor.

After 15 minutes, Rio started looking like a bunch of lights that were placed in the dark sky along with stars and a bright new moon. It was so dark that even I couldn't see anything in front of us. The sound of water being cut and the small waves were the only noise. It got a little bit easier to breathe as well. Edward looked very handsome standing behind the wheel.

"I'm going to buy you a captain hat when we go to the mainland to hunt," I told him.

"Alright, who are you my cabin boy then?"

"I'm offended." I laughed. "At least call me a cabin girl."

"I apologize, my lady." He smiled.

We arrived at the island an hour later, it was still very dark to see any details, but we were able to dock the boat and find our way to the small cottage on the beach. I took off my shoes and stepped on the sand, letting it get in between my toes. What a nice feeling it was. The sand was still warm from the sun and I walked all the way to the house on it, disregarding a tiny stone path that led to the cottage. Edward opened the door for me and switched the light on. The room suddenly appeared in front of my eyes with all its beauty. Light wooden floors led into the spacious kitchen area, the back wall was made out of glass and reflected everything due to the lights.

"Bedroom is on the right, you can leave your suitcase in there, and join me on the beach later?" Edward asked.

"Of course, I'll be out in a second." I smiled at him as he leaned in to kiss my lips.

I followed down the hall, looking over the paintings on the walls. A few had the beach painted on them, a few others had our family portraits on them. It looked like a nice summer vacation house, maybe one day we'll all come here together, something like a family trip.

The door to the bedroom was open and I could see a large king-size bed, dressed in burgundy satin sheets. I placed my suitcase on top of it and opened the compartments to grab my hairbrush. I quickly brushed the knots in my hair and walked outside. My yellow summer dress was flowing in the wind as I walked down to the ocean. Edward was sitting on the sand, so I came closer and sat next to him. I followed his gaze, he was looking at the moon, which lit up the night sky just as well as the sun did. He wrapped his hand around my shoulders and pulled me to the ground. The sky was full of stars, and we spent most of the night looking at them.

"That one on the right is the Canis Major." Edward kept telling me the name of the constellations throughout the whole night. "It's also called a Sirius, one of the brightest stars that can be seen in this part of the world. That's what you're to me."

"You could've come up with a better nickname for me than Canis Major."

Edward chuckled.

"As I was saying, the brightest star of my life, Bella, is you. It will always be you, and I know I can always find my way to you because you shine so bright. I know I'm not doing it right, I'm not being romantic and not presenting you with a big gesture, but that's who I am."

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"I want to be bind to you for the rest of my life. I want forever."

"That's all I want as well. Edward, I don't understand."

"Now, I believe I made a mistake. Sorry, Bella, I needed to be more specific." He laughed. "I'm asking you if you will let me put a ring on your finger?"

"What a fine way to propose, Mr. Cullen." I laughed. "I accept, whatsoever."

"You do?" Suddenly he was on his feet.

"Yes, I do." I kept laughing when he lifted me up and hugged me.

"Let's go." He spoke.

"You want to get married now?!" I asked surprised.

"Love, as much as I want to marry you as soon as possible, I'm afraid everything is closed at this time of night. How about we go swimming for now. Have you ever seen sunrise while underwater? It's a magnificent view!" He smiled.

I kissed him with so much passion. Edward, even with his inability to express his thoughts, was charming. My charming fiancé. God knows for how long I've wanted to call him that. The puzzle was now finished, all the little pieces together formed a wonderful picture that I'll call our future. My thoughts were only on the gorgeous man and his hands in mine.

I let go and ran into the water, the only sound that I was able to hear before my head crashed into the cold surface of the ocean was Edward's laugh. When he managed to find me in the dark water, our hands locked again, and Edward pointed our hands in the direction where the sun would come out in a few minutes. The waves were trying to hit us closer to the shore, but our weight held us in one place. Edward was trying to say something, the bubbles left his mouth; however, I couldn't recognize any of the words. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the water became lighter, and when I looked up, instead of the previous light blue, it was yellowish. The colors were indeed astonishing, and for a minute, I found myself frozen. The only thing that was on my mind was gratefulness for the man who made my life a fairytale.

I concentrated on my shield and took it off. My mind felt exposed and I had a strong urge to shut it and put it back on myself, but then I met Edward's eyes and smiled.

"I love you."

These were the only three words I could think about. His smile grew bigger, and I decided to use the fact that he can read my thoughts now. I played the memories that I had of us from the past 25 years. The walks in the park; us sitting in the room together, reading the same book; our first kiss; the lake where I first felt the growing feelings for him in my heart. I played everything until the moment that happened just an hour ago when he asked me to marry him.

Suddenly, I felt my shield collapsing and returning to me. At the same time, I felt Edward's arms wrapping around my waist and his lips touching mine again. I gave in to the feeling and let him emerge us back onto the surface.

"Can you do that again?" He asked.

"Only after you put the ring on this finger, Mr. Cullen." I smiled.

"Well then, it appears I can't wait any longer. Let's go find a city hall." Edward spoke as he started swimming towards land one hand still locked up in mine.

"Alice is going to be pissed." I shook my head.

"She'll get over it. It's our day, we have the right to do it the way we want to." He insisted. "Unless I was wrong and you do want a big wedding with bridesmaids and a puffy white dress."

"Please, no."

"Then there's nothing stopping us. I'll wait for you to change into something dry and will be waiting on the boat." He spoke and pecked my lips as we got out of the water.

I turned around and ran back into the house. Everything was happening so fast, today was my wedding day, it finally came, and Edward was doing everything the way I wanted it to be. Just us, alone, city hall, no guests, no flowers, no toasts. A perfect wedding day.

I opened up the suitcase again and picked out a striped beige dress that covered my shoulders and reached just below my knees. My hair was still wet from the swim, but I combed it anyways. In hopes, that it will still look good after the boat ride, I looked in the mirror. Very presentable, not a bride material, at least not in the average person's mind, but still nice.

I walked outside again, closing the front door behind me. Edward was already sitting in the boat. Dark pants and a blue polo shirt. His hair was a mess, like always. I climbed into the boat and intertwined our fingers. He looked at me with eyes full of joy and love.

"Ready to go?" I asked.

"I've been waiting decades to marry you."

I smiled at him as he turned the key to start the motor. The boat made a loud noise and we started our journey back to the mainland. When we docked, the streets were already full of people. It couldn't be past 9 yet! Edward, with his perfect Portuguese, had no problem finding out where the city hall was. He took my hand and led me to the nearest taxi.

"Are we really doing it?" I whispered.

"Yes, we are. Having second thoughts?"

"No, are you?"

"Never." He squeezed my hand.

We came in what looked like a regular building, it was so different than the city halls one sees back home. The lady behind the desk took our passports.

"You'll have to fill out the paperwork, it will take a few days to get the marriage license and all the other documents that we might need." She spoke in a heavy Portuguese accent.

"I'm afraid we can't wait a few days; is there a chance we can do it today?" Edward smiled at her and put out his hand, which I assumed had a few banknotes in it.

"Um, let me see what I can do here, Mr. Cullen." The woman smiled back and left the desk.

"You're bribing our way into marriage?" I laughed.

"I told you I'll marry you today. Alice will have no chance to come here and ruin this day for us." Edward chuckled.

"Oh, I'm all up for the bribing if that's the case."

The lady came back a few minutes later with a few pieces of paper in her hands which she passed to us along with a steel-point pen and ink. I looked at Edward while he was filling and signing his sections before I did the same things with mine.

"Now, while you wait, there is a ring shop a few minutes away, Mr. Bello will be available to take you in 45 minutes." The woman spoke.

"I'll get the rings, but for now." He took a minute to get his hand into his pocket and pull out the box that I've found a couple of years ago in his drawer. He opened it, and the most beautiful ring that I've ever seen in my life appeared in front of me. It looked silver but had a nice mate coloring, which led me to believe it was actually made out of platinum. Nowadays, this material was very expensive and hard to come by, so my assumption was it was made way before WWII. A large oval shape of the ring had dozens of little diamonds in them.

"Edward." I gasped. "It's beautiful."

"It was my mother's. She wanted me to have it after she died. I had to change the size, though."

"Is that why Alice was putting rings on me for the last 5 years every time we went for an outing?" I asked.

"Maybe." He smiled and put the ring on my finger. "I'll be right back with our wedding rings."

He gave me a short kiss and walked outside. My thoughts were flying in my head, and they never stopped until Edward came back 20 minutes later. He looked at me with eyes full of love and hope, and I knew mine were saying the same. Mr. Bello was indeed able to squeeze us in between other couples. The ceremony was short, very standard, the whole time I was barely paying attention to what I was saying. I was getting married, and for me, the only part that I cared about was saying the final:

"I do."

Edward gave me a passionate kiss and we ran through the doors of the city hall hand in hand. My husband…What a nice word to say. My husband and I walked hand in hand around the streets, exploring the city until we got our way to the docks again. He helped me get into the boat and we started our way back to the island. None of us said a word, we were both so excited about today and what we were going to do next. Of course, I would marry Edward even if the sex wasn't in the picture, but spending 25 years with the person you love without the ability to explore that part of life is tiring. 87 years of celibacy can make one very cranky, to be frank. Trust me, I know.

When we arrived on the island, Edward lifted me up and carried me in his arms straight into the bedroom. We started slow, mostly kissing for the first hour or so. I was so happy that we finally tight the knot, it felt so natural to kiss him, hold him in my arms, feel his lips travel from my cheeks, into my neck and collar bone. I heard the fabric of my dress rip when his hands traveled to my back. I gasped for air and started unbuttoning his shirt. My arms suddenly knew exactly what to do, some kind of animal instinct.

When our bodies collided, it felt like a thousand fireworks blowing up across my whole body. It was magical, his body pressing me deeper into the bed, pillow feathers flying across the room. I wanted to be closer to him, as close as I could get.

"I love you so much, Bella." He kept whispering in my ear.

When the night finally came, we got out of bed only to assess the damage that was done to the furniture and the sheets. It looked bad. The bed frame had a few pieces missing, pillow feathers were now on the floor, along with ripped bedsheets. We'll definitely have to replace it before Carlisle and Esme would want to come here. I looked at Edward and couldn't help but laugh.

"We're monsters. We destroyed the whole room. And what's worse, I don't think I'll ever want to stop. We never get tired, never have to sleep or take a break, I mean how are we supposed to just go back to living with our family?"

"Rose and Emmett had it bad. None of us could get within a hundred feet for the first couple of years of their marriage." Edward smiled.

"Mr. Cullen, would you like to go skinny dipping with me? Give this room some time to recover?" I laughed a few seconds after.

"I would love that, Mrs. Cullen."

We walked outside the house hand in hand aiming for the dark ocean.

Three weeks later we were met at the airport by our family. Esme and Carlisle saw us first. My mom was so happy for us, she spent 5 minutes asking about the trip, the wedding, and the ring. Rose gave me a big hug, which was a rare occasion but was nevertheless welcome. Emmett played with his eyebrows when it was his turn to congratulate me.

"So, we saw the maintenance bill for the cottage." He grinned at me.

"Shut it, Em. I'm not in the mood for fooling around." I spoke as I hugged him.

"You heard it, Edward." Emmett laughed. "No fooling around tonight."

I shook my head, still smiling at my brother. Rosalie, however, who didn't find his joke so funny hit him on the back of his head, which made me laugh out loud. At that moment I realized that Alice was staring at me, an angry expression on her face. Jasper was looking at me with a happy apologizing smile. When I came closer, he hugged me and whispered congratulations in my ear so only I could hear. I squeezed him tighter, hoping he would understand that meant 'thank you'.

"Really, Alice, you're that mad at me?" I asked.

"Yes."

"It was my wedding day, I deserved to have it the way I wanted it." I looked at her little face and her big sad eyes. "It didn't mean that I wanted it to be without you, but there's nothing you can do about it. And before you say it, no. You can't plan another wedding for me, I'm not getting married again just to please your ego. You have Rose, who will most likely be a bride again in 5 years."

"But…" She started.

"No, I'm your sister, you are happy for me. You understand?" I started again.

"But…"

"No." I interrupted again. "You will smile and give me a hug. Between us, we both know I'm the sourpuss sister, not you. You can stop pretending to be upset, so you can get what you want from me. It's not going to work. Not this time."

"She figured out your trick, honey," Jasper murmured.

"Fine." She sighed and lost the frown. "Bella, I'm so happy for you! Show me the ring, Edward didn't let me see it before you two left. What did you wear to the city hall? Was it at least a dress? Tell me you wore a dress and not a pair of jeans! And what about your hair? Did you at least put it down? I'll kill you if I hear that it was in some messy bun. Oh, I have so much to tell you about…"

I laughed as Alice walked me to the car. The little pixie didn't stop talking until we got to the house and Carlisle called a family meeting in the living room. The whole time that my sister was in the car with me, she kept saying something about an important vision that she had a few weeks ago and that we'll have to talk about it with the whole family.

"As you know already, Bella and Alice have a great-great-niece that lives in Washington. Now, neither Alice, nor I am exactly sure why the vision came to her at this time, but we do know that it's somehow connected to Renee. She had a baby, a newborn girl. They named her Isabella, after you." Carlisle was now speaking directly to me.

"That's very sweet," I spoke. "I didn't expect, after all this time, they would still talk about either Alice or me."

"That's not all." Carlisle sighed and I looked around the room. Everyone was looking down; I switched my eyes to Edward who grabbed my hand.

"Carlisle, what's going on?"

"In Alice's vision Isabella was all grown up, and she was in the company of a vampire."

"What?!"

"Now, there's nothing to worry about for now. We have years until it's supposed to happen."

"In my vision, she was about 17, maybe 18. We have time to figure out how we can react to the problem." Alice said.

"Can we interfere? Do you see us stopping that…encounter…if we interfere?" I asked.

"No. At least not yet." Alice was now looking at Carlisle.

"If that's alright with you, we would like to wait until she turns 17 before we react. Esme already looked at the land we can get in Forks, and we can enroll you in the same high school, so you could keep an eye on her there."

"All of this effort for just one human." Rosalie sighed.

"Rose, please," I asked.

"You know what, no. I don't understand this. None of us have the chance to talk to our families. I might have some great-great nephews somewhere too, but we're not going to check upon them. So how is it fair that we can do it for you?" she asked as she stormed out of the room.

"And I just thought our relationship was starting to progress." I shook my head. "She's right though. It's unfair to put that much risk on the family, I can do it myself, no one has to do it if they don't want to."

"She's my family too. If you're going, I'm going." Alice spoke.

"I promised I'll never leave you two, so count me in as well." Jasper nodded.

"I'm coming too." Edward squeezed my hand.

"Bella, I consider you a daughter, we'll be with you if you would like to go stay in Forks." Esme stood up to give me a hug.

"I think it would be fun to go to school finally. All this time it was just talking about the future possibility of it, now we're actually doing it." Emmett jumped. "I'll talk to Rosie; she'll be on board."

"Okay, then that's settled. Dear, how about we go look at the blueprints of the house?" Carlisle gave me a smile before taking Esme's hand and leading her into his study room.

"There is another thing that I saw, but I wanted to tell you two first." My sister started.

"What is it, Alice?" I sighed.

"In my vision, Isabella, she looks just like you, like you're twins or something."

"What?" I asked.

"Well, you're related, it's genetically possible. Can I see?" Edward asked.

"Go ahead."

My husband and sister went into their normal state of staring at each other for a few seconds. That was enough for me to start worrying about Isabella.

"She does look a lot like you, love. Except for her eyes, they are like melted chocolate." Edward whispered and squeezed my hand.

"Mine used to be too." I shook my head.

I got my hand out of his and walked outside. It was getting darker, the light from the sky appeared diffused and pinkish. The sun was already below the horizon, but its rays were scattered by Earth's atmosphere. Twilight. What a beautiful part of the day. I walked into the forest and started running. I heard light footsteps behind me but didn't pay attention to them, it was most likely Edward trying to make sure I was okay. He caught me a couple of hours later when the moon appeared in the dark sky.

"Bella, please, talk to me." He asked quietly.

"Why is the universe so screwed up?" I turned to face him. "First, it's me who gets involuntary turned into a monster, then it's my sister who gets hunted by a vampire and faces the same outcome, now my great-great niece. I just started living, just got my sister back, and finally married you. God damn it, I finally found a family who loves me and whom I love back. Why can't everything just go smoothly, why does the universe have to screw up my what-so-perfect life?"

He came closer to hug me. Involuntary, I twisted my arms around his waist and put my head on his chest. Edward patted my back while I was sobbing. He was murmuring my lullaby that he perfected during the past 25 years.

"We'll worry about it when it's time, okay?"

"Okay." When the sobbing went away. "What am I supposed to do now though?"

"You live. We both do. We're newlyweds, surely, we can find something we can do. Have you ever been to Europe?" He smiled at me.

"You know I haven't left the continent until a month ago."

"Well, then how about we go to London or maybe Venice?"

"That sounds like a nice plan." I agreed, telling myself not to worry about Isabella at least for another 17 years.

Yes, I'm adding Bella from the original Twilight into the story, I feel like it would be an interesting turn of events. Just for clarity, it is still going to be Isabella Brandon's POV and she will be referred to as Bella; Isabella Swan however will be called either Isabella or Izzy. We'll meet her in the next chapter.

Sorry, for not posting as much, school and work have been a pain in my butt for the past few weeks. But if you have any questions, please send me a message on Twitter FlaunderTommo, I'll be happy to answer them. I'll post at least one chapter next week and will aim for two or three the following week.

As always, please review. It lets me know that people are still interested in the story and makes me want to write more often.
