Yuri leads back in his office chair and looks out the large floor to ceiling window, the sun shining through the clouds overhead. It would be a romantic scene, if this building wasn't his work. However, Yuri couldn't complain; he actually liked work, even though most of the people are idiots.

"Whatcha looking at?" A voice next to him said. Yuri looked over and saw a colleague lean her head back to talk to Yuri. Brown hair tied in a bun, glasses that only had the lower half of the frame and a bowtie instead of a normal tie. Yep, this was Sarah, the favorite of the office, not for her looks but for her work ethic and positive attitude, "One of your girlfriends out there?"

"Funny you mention that, Sarah. Lona is actually coming over so we can have lunch together."

"Awwww that's so sweet!" Sarah adjusted her glasses, which normally meant she was switching to business talk, "So, you hear we're getting a newbie?"

"Wait really?"

"Yeah. They're going to be working on this floor with us, so be on your best behavior." Sarah playfully punches Yuri.

"Hey!" Yuri laughs it off. It was a jab at his relationships with his monster wives, but it was all in good fun. Yuri knew anime-y the whole situation was, but that was their reality and Yuri couldn't be more grateful. But right now, he has some work to do. He was sure he'll meet the newbie in a while.

Sure enough, about half an hour later, the team leader called a meeting to introduce the team to the newbie that was joining them. Yuri sat in one of the spinning chairs, just spinning in circles, waiting for the boss to come in. There were murmurs about the new person. Apparently, they moved from all the way in the Mist Continent which was super far away from the city. Yuri read about the continent and all the monster girls that live there. It's really something else. Yuri stops spinning his chair when he heard the door open.

"Everyone!" The team leader announces, "Meet our new employee and first monster girl to the team,"

'Wait, monster girl?' Yuri panicked.

"Sun Peng!" The leader steps aside and reveals a wild-haired but well-dressed woman with the only tell that she wasn't human was a long tail. A Kakuen. Basically, a monkey.

Sun Peng shifted side to side and adjusted her tie, "Uh. Hello." She bowed, "It will be pleasure to work with you all."

Immediately, Yuri raised his hand, "I have several questions, boss."

"well, they're going to have to wait because I need you to show Peng the ropes."

Yuri wanted to say no because he's been a monster girl magnet, but he liked his job so, "Alright boss." He got up from his seat and could hear the snickers from the men and women in the room. He walks over to Peng and gives her a smile, "I'll show you your desk." The two skip over to Peng's new workstation, the employees left behind starting to take bets on how long before Yuri has to be sent home for sleeping with the newbie at work.

Peng worked with computers before but this was a different language entirely! "Input"? "Console"? "IT Support"? What did any of it mean? Maybe those Vivtube videos didn't help after all. Yuri notices her confusion and leans over to help, "See you press that button,"

Peng did as she was told and something popped up, "Oooh."

"And then you start doing your tasks."

"Ooooh that is so clever!"

"Yeah. Then you go here to this program—yep right there."

"Oh! And it tracks my progress and tells me what to do next?"

"Exactly."

"Wow, senpai! You're really smart."

Record scratch. Did she really… "Did… Did you just?"

"Hm? Oh yeah. Senpai means "teacher" or "master" in Japanese. I've been studying it back home while also learning English."

"Uh. Didn't know that…"

"You look shocked."

"Hm? Oh well yeah. In anime, senpai is normally the main girl's love interest."

"Hm. I don't much care for anime. Western shows and movies are so much better."

"Depends on the movie really."

"Yeah. I don't like the dubs of a few. The sub is way better."

"Whatever floats your boat. But can I just request you don't call me that?"

"What? Senpai?"

"Yeah. It threw me through a loop."

"Oh ok. How about I call you…" A short pause, "Lǎoshī?"

"How about just Mr. Noble?"

"Ohhh. Ok yeah. Then you can call me Miss Sun." Peng gave a cheeky smile, "Or Peng since we're friends now."

"Take me to lunch, then we're friends."

"Yeah!"

"Back to work you too!" Bossman shouted from across the room and the two of them shifted back to their stations.

Yuri's cheeks were killing him, he was smiling so much! But something is off. Something strange was happening, more specifically, what was NOT happening: He didn't see even a hint of interest from Peng. From what he read, Kakuens are incredibly lustful for the men that pique their interest and will want to have sex with them no matter what. Now, perhaps it was wrong of him to assume she was single, but most monster wives were stay-at-home types and didn't work full-time jobs. Hell, Dot and Lona worked part-time jobs. Something wasn't adding up here and Yuri intended to get to the bottom of it. Maybe he could ask during lunch break.

Many people would move away from a monster girl walking on the sidewalk, but today, people are running into buildings avoiding the cow, moth, and snake trio. Yuri's troop, Dot, Lona, and Setex were all going to the local café to meet with their lovely husband for lunch. Well, Lona was, Dot and Setex decided that they would burn the house down if left alone together, so they decided to tag along.

"I hope you brought enough money for all of us to get something." Dot says to Lona.

"Don't worry. I've been saving my money."

"Tick… I don't understand why we have to go to an establishment. I see food everywhere." Setex comments, eyeing some women across the road.

"Do you see humans as anything other than food?" Dot asks.

"Yes. Men are used for repopulation. Not just food."

Dot groaned and Lona just laughs. Setex may not understand why they are reacting the way they do, but inside, she's starting to have doubts about her cunning plan. Yuri is actually pretty alright, kept her fed, and she found a new love for the deep-sea documentaries they sometimes watch together. Was she unlocking love? No no, she couldn't be. That is not who she is. Isn't it?

Ping! A notification just pinged on Dot's phone. Dot takes it out of her pocket and checks it out. A text from someone named "Hubby". Dot starts to read it to herself, "'Hey Dot, could you tell Lona I won't be able to make our lunch date? I have to train the new girl—' A new girl?!" The other two flinch at Dot's sudden outburst, "Yuri is seeing another woman!?"

"Hey hey, that's probably not what he—" Lona tried to explain, but Dot shoves a finger in her face.

"No! Why would he SPEAK with another woman unless he was seeing her! Let's go kick this woman ass!" Dot stomps off to the office building, leaving Setex and Lona slightly worried.

"At least she's only going to kick the lady's ass." Setex comments.

Yuri just finished shooting a text to Dot to let her know he can't make Lona and his lunch date because he's taking lunch to train the newbie, Sun Peng, which was a white lie. He was going to lunch, just with Peng instead of training her, as she picked up her work rather quickly. Plus, they became fast friends as Yuri was the only one to be nice to her, as everyone was either avoiding her, making rude comments or if they were a real idiot, making sexual comments. This got them in trouble with the boss, and Peng started to become thankful someone is willing to be her friend. As they take the elevator down to the cafeteria, Peng decided to strike up a conversation.

"So, Mr. Noble?"

"Hm?"

"Who were you texting?"

"Oh. Just a girl, nothing special."

"A monster girl? You know I'm not—"

"Huh? Oh yeah, sorry. I'm just so used to hiding the fact I have a monster wife… Or three."

Peng laughs, "What what? Three? How did that happen?"

"I'm not sure, it just… Did." Lies.

"Well as long as everyone is happy."

"Oh, most definably." They pause and look at the number. It's taking a while to get to the bottom floor. Feeling awkward, Yuri debated if he wanted to make it more awkward, "Sooo… Uh… Peng. You uh… Moved here from the Mist Continent?"

"Oh yeah I did. Not by choice though."

"What, really?"

"Yeah… My troop kicked me out."

"Well, how come?"

"I don't know." Peng's tail starts to twitch and she puffs her cheeks.

"If you're not comfortable with telling me, then it's fine."

Peng panics as he saw through her lies. Would it be easier to come out clean or, "Ah no no no! It's not that I'm uncomfortable, it's just…"

"Hey it's ok. We can talk more when we have food."

Peng takes a deep breath, "Ok. Yeah."

Why couldn't this elevator go any faster?

Bang! The front door was rudely kicked open with a hoof and a very pissed-off Holstaur shouts out, "STOP HAVING SEX WITH MY MAN!" Then, silence, as everyone in the lobby of the building stares at the sudden event. Dot didn't care, and ran up to the poor receptionist and grabs her collar, "Where is Master Yuri and that bitch he's training!?"

"Ok that's enough." Setex grabs Dot and holds her back as Lona steps forward.

"Apologies for my friend. We're just looking for one Mr. Yuri Noble."

The receptionist, still scared, types on her computer and calms down almost immedicably reading that's on her screen, "Oh Mr. Noble, alright. Phew. Yes, he took lunch, he should be back in his cubical on floor 11 room 4 in 30 minutes."

"That's enough time for him to—Hey what are you—Hfm!"

"Yeah, in the angry wrap you go. This is best for you." Setex wraps Dot into a snug wrap and covers her mouth so she doesn't scream any more profanities, "Alright Lona, you go up there, we'll go check the cafeteria."

"Right." Lona walks over to the elevator and enters, quietly observing the strange looks she's getting from the other people in the elevator.

Meanwhile, Setex and the restrained Dot slither their way towards the cafeteria, Setex hoping Yuri isn't there.

"So then I asked, 'Hey where did you guys get the wool?' but I never got a straight answer. Until—"

"Noo…"

"Oh yeah, until I went to the butcher to get some freshly cut bacon, he had a weresheep by his side, cuddling his arm."

"Noooo way. Haha!" Peng laughs at this ridiculous story. Yuri couldn't help but laugh too. It was ridiculous.

"Yeah, it's was something. I tried to ask them about it after I learned it, and they just avoided me for the rest of the hour. Living with monster girls is strange. I-in a good way, I mean."

"Oh yeah I totally get it. I've met my fair share of monsters while traveling."

"Speaking of travel, how did you handle the airplane food?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean…" Yuri gestures towards Peng's lunch, which mostly consisted of fruit, veggies, and nuts, "you're not a fan of cooked food now are you?"

"Hm yeah but I managed. You'll be surprised how much nuts can get you by every day."

"I see." Yuri taps his fingers for a moment, thinking, before deciding, fuck it, he's asking it, "So Peng. About the conversation in the elevator." Peng stops mid-bite, listening, "I lied about how I got three monster wives. I don't know how it happens but I'm piratically a magnet for monster girls to fall for me. I'm not sure why but it just happens. Which is why I'm thrown through a loop. You haven't made a single advancement to me or any of the other guys at the office. What gives?"

Peng rubs the back of her neck, clearly embarrassed, but takes a deep breath in, "Well it's long and complicated, but the short answer is, I'm not into that sort of thing."

"What?"

"It's like, at first, I thought that was normal for a young monster girl to feel this way. You know you're not physically able to have children so you dislike the idea of sex. As I got older though, the sight of men made me not… Lustful, I think. I don't know. All I knew was that, perhaps my body wasn't ready. Years went by and well… My troop kicked me out as I did not find a husband. I then decided that I was not welcomed in the Mist Continent, and started to study computers to get a job here."

"Hm. Strange. I didn't know asexuality was a thing in monster girls."

Peng nearly spits out her water but manages to get it down, "There's a word for it?"

"Yeah. From what I understand, you may as well be asexual. This is strange because of the demonic magic that complies you to… Breed, should override it, through…" At this point, Yuri notices Peng seemed to have completely tuned him out and just has the biggest and stupidest grin on her face, "It seems it's lacking and you couldn't be happier." Peng, practically bouncing in her seat, releases a sound Yuri didn't quite understand but knew it was out of happiness, "I think we're going to be very good friends, Peng."

Suddenly, the cafeteria doors open and a Holster stands there, bruised and pissed, "STOP HAVING SEX WITH MY MAN!" She shouts, as Yuri does a facepalm.

The end of the day could arrive faster, but at last, Yuri could go walk home, not alone this time. Lona happily leads the way while Dot and Setex, who were also bruised, walk close to Yuri as he and Peng walk with each other. A party of 5, all together.

"Thanks again for helping me, Yuri." Peng smiles, "Now I'll be able to catch up on everything."

"That's great."

"Oh, and uh, before I forgot, when will I be paid?"

"Oh, well we typically get paid at the end of the month. So in a few… weeks…" Yuri notices the tail twitching of Peng, "You don't have anywhere to go?"

"I was sure I would be able to deposit my check and get a hotel! But now…"

"Hey, how about you stay with us? You can crash on the couch until you can get a place of your own."

"Wait really?"

"Hey! I thought Lona slept on the couch." Dot interjects.

"Well, Lona works nights so it should be fine."

"I—I really don't." Peng tried to reject, but Yuri explains,

"Peng, do you think I would be offering if I couldn't afford it? Don't worry. And it's only temporary anyway."

Peng relaxes, "Alright, as long as I'm not a burden."

"You are not. You are a friend."

"Thanks Yuri."

"Any time." A smile is shared between them.

Dot watches this interaction and retreats to her own thoughts. Why is Yuri so nice? Why couldn't she bring herself to take him home? Why did he stay with him? Isn't this what it meant to be a minotaur? She knew she was a holster; it was in her nature to be gentle but…

'Come on you wimp! Be tough! Take men by the dick and show them who was boss!'

Dot shook her head. No. She would never be like her. Yuri was worth it.
