Where the wind whispers, he is there. He is the one who watches you when you sleep. He has given his soul to the devil and now has the power to see all, but none can see him. His eyes are deep like burning pools of hell. His hands are cold as ice. His voice sends a shiver up your spine, even if you cover your ears you can hear it.
Where this creature resides no one knows, but many believe he lurks everywhere. All around them. People on their death bed have claimed that the creature came, they themselves witnessed him screech. They believe that this shriek was so horrifying it was the soul purpose that put them on this bed. Many tried to veer it away but no one has succeeded. One got close, she was the only one to live. No one quite knows why.
The year was 1819, it was the beginning of summer and the wind began to rumble. The leaves were tumbling through the street. England was beautiful this time of year, many of the locals took notice. The children ran home from school in their small jackets. They were always careful to make no ruckus in front of one particular house. There in that house lived the neighborhood witch. She would call upon the spirits of those who were gone to the gods. The children wanted nothing to do with her. She was shunned from the town. Any who were in seek of her services had to be sure not to be seen going near her home. Or they too would be shunned.
It was one of the windiest days of the season and no one was out and about. School was canceled for the fear that a child might be blown away. There was only one lurking the streets that day. Her name was Audie, she was one of the single twenty-something girls in the village. She lived with her father until recently when he sadly passed away. She was torn with grief. She had thought of joining him in heaven, her being included as one of gods children would surely be a way to get in. Alas she couldn't do it there was something there telling her that her father was in disproof. She sensed something else that night as she had laid down to sleep, she couldn't understand it. There was a voice and it seemed to speak to her. She knew everyone in the town and not one of them had this voice. The voice was distinct and had nothing to say. It mumbled a few words and when she opened her eyes to see who was calling, no one was there.
This went on until she talked to the voice. What it said amazed and scared her. She had her results and today she was to see the witch. She nodded walking to the back door of the house and knocked.
"I can do this, there's nothing to be frightened about!" She mumbled to herself. The door opened and in the doorway stood a short stubby looking lady with black hair almost to her feet. She seemed to be in her late Thirties. She wasn't intimidating at all. Audie smiled.
"Come in my dear." She said in the warmest of tones. Audie nodded and followed the woman into the house. Taking one last glance to make sure no one was watching her.
