Nam and I step onto the multi-tiled arena where a man wearing sunglasses holding a microphone waits.
"Welcome everyone, to the third match of the quarter finals!" the blonde announcer shouts, getting cheers from the crowd.
"In this corner, we have this young man wearing the gi of the Turtle school, give it up for Kachoba!"
I can hear Bulma and the others cheering for me. And there is one more voice...
"Kachoba! Make your papa proud!" I turn to the direction of the voice. Between two animal type people, a bear and a tiger, I see a familiar bearded face.
It's dad.
I wave at him with a smile.
"And in this corner, we have a man on a mission, it's Nam!" Cheers erupt once more.
"Fighters prepare yourselves!" We both get into our stances.
"Begin!" The sound of a gong echoes through the stage.
Knowing that my opponent's Cross Arm Dive technique could put me away, I charge at the older fighter and try to knock him over with a leg sweep, but he jumps. I surprise him with a donkey kick (where I use my arms to support my weight as I kick), getting a clean hit on him.
After I rise, I unleash a flurry of punches and kicks at his midsection, attempting to push him out of the ring. Nam manages to block and parry the first 5 strikes, but sustains damage. He then uses his left leg to kick me away. I backflip away to get some distance.
He runs towards me with a determined look in his eyes. I think now is my opportunity to end this bout before I use up too much energy. I decide I would use a Turtle School technique. The one Grandpa Gohan taught Goku.
As Nam prepares a chop, I shout "Jan Ken!" and lunge toward him. "Scissors!" I punch his left arm away, "Paper!" I jump and thrust my palm into his face knocking him far away, almost to the end.
Capitalizing on the dazed fighter, I channel my inner Liu Kang, running towards Nam, jumping, and unleashing a bicycle kick combo which pushes him out of bounds. He falls onto his back in pain.
"We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen! Kachoba!" the announcer yells as the crowd cheers.
"That's my boy!" I hear dad shout in admiration.
That was surprisingly not that difficult. Probably because I decided to not drag the fight out and not giving Nam a chance to use the Cross Arm Dive.
I run over to Nam, who was getting up with a defeated look in his eyes.
"That was a good match. If the fight went on longer, you might have won with some kind of technique you developed." I said trying to cheer him up.
He looks at me and says "Thank you, you were wise to end the match before I could use my Cross Arm Dive."
He takes his leave with an almost broken demeanor.
Knowing that Master Roshi (as Jackie) would help Nam with a dyno-cap that would be filled with water, I did not stay sad for long.
Meanwhile
Goku's match against the large monster man Giran, who looked like a humanoid pterodactyl with a horn at the end of his snout, played out the same as in canon, with Giran forfeiting after Goku bests his Merry-Go Round Gum trap. Goku's tail grew back as well.
Next was Krillin and Master Roshi. Due to not seeing Roshi noticing Ranfan's..."feminine attributes" because I defeated her in the preliminaries, Krillin had no real advantage against our disguised master. Krillin loses due to attacking Jackie Chun's afterimage and is knocked out.
"Will Goku and Kachoba report to the arena please?" I hear the announcer's voice snapping me out of my thoughts.
Me against the hero of Dragon Ball huh? My blood boils at the prospect of fighting the son of Bardock and Gine.
I step over to the exit to the arena alongside my friend.
"I won't lose so easily Goku." I say to him.
He looks at me and laughs. "Hehe, we'll see about that!"
"Fighters get ready! Set. Begin!" the announcer signals.
We charge at each other with fire in our eyes. I try out the afterimage technique against Goku that I mimicked from Master Roshi in his fight against Krillin.
Goku is stunned for a moment seeing the false transparent image of myself, giving me an opportunity to strike with a punch from behind. My opponent is knocked back but jump flips onto his feet. Goku lands some punches on me so quickly, I can only block a few before my defense is broken. Pain courses through my jaw, chest and forehead as I am knocked back almost to the edge of the ring.
I recover fast enough to parry a punch from Goku and I try to use his momentum against him by throwing him out of the ring. Before I can finish him off, a furry brown appendage wraps around my right wrist and tosses me away to the center of the ring. Goku chuckles as he lands on his feet.
He lunges at me, but I kick only for my foot to pass through him? The afterimage techni-
Two hands grab my tail.
"If you're tail is like mine ,then you lose your strength when someone grabs it. Heh heh heh!" I disappoint him by lifting my tail and slamming him into the ground.
With a grin, I respond "Sorry Goku, but I trained with the Saibamen to remove that weakness years ago."
He gets up, surprised at the fact that that was even possible.
He gets into his fighting stance as I respond in kind.
Minutes later
I pant from the strain on my body that Goku inflicted. He was panting from the strain on his body.
The boy decides to end this by preparing the signature technique of Dragon Ball.
He cups his hands, draws them to his right side and chants the iconic words as blue colored ki begins to charge in between his hands. "Ka...me...ha...me-HA!" He thrusts his hands forward at me, unleashing a beam of his own life energy. I don't have time to marvel!
I jump to the right as the beam zooms past me. The Kamehameha wave goes into the direction of the audience, who wisely move out of the way. I look at the the wave as it dissipates.
"Phew!" That was close! If you hit me with that, it would have been game over!" I exclaim.
I turn my head to meet a kick to the face which knocked me far from my position. Onto the grass.
"Kachoba is out of bounds! Goku is the winner!" I hear and as the crowd cheers, I notice how it is now sunset. The match must have lasted longer than I thought.
My gaze meets the image of a large celestial object. I stare at the moon for a few seconds before realizing my mistake. Before I can look away, I black out...
AN: Uh oh. Looks like Kachoba forgot about the time. Leave your feedback and review. With your help, I can create an empire! Muahahahahahaha!
