Kachoba's POV
"Son, why do you want to climb this tower so badly?" Dad questions me.
"Yes, why do you wish to climb this sacred tower?" A man who I assume to be Bora, the father of Upa and chief of the Karinga tribe.
"Like I said, the world is in danger. If I am to help my friends combat this threat named King Piccolo, I must train under Korin, the legendary martial arts master that lives at the top of this tower." I reply.
I look over to Bora and a small boy(Upa?).
"I am a friend of Goku's. We trained under the same master. as you may tell from my clothes emblem." That got their attention.
"Goku? You're Goku's friend?" Upa asks.
I nod. "I don't have a lot of time. Yes, I am Goku's friend. I even have a tail. My friend Krillin was murdered by one of Piccolo's minions." That made them have somber looks on their faces. I turn to my father.
"Dad, I should be done within a few days. Please don't try to convince me to fly to the top. Korin demands that visitors must climb." He nods.
"Okay Kachoba. You trained with Master Roshi and read about this place when you were younger... I just worry." I run up to him and hug him. He hugs back.
We seperate and I give him a thumbs up. I walk to the tower base and jump high to get a head start.
Time skip brought to you by Fu observing the differences in this timeline.
"I-hah... am not...hah...climbing this tower...hah...again." I say as I reach the top, and see a hole on my right. I rest for a moment to get my bearings, then jump to catch the edge with my hands. I climb a little bit higher so that I can rest on the ground of the room.
"I did... it... hah. Korin, no disrespect, but I am not climbing this tower again... hah..." I say despite knowing I could climb this tower at a better pace when I'm stronger.
I rise to my feet and start walking outside to a flight of stairs. Up the steps I find a white cat holding a wooden staff looking at me with his eyes closed?
"Are you Korin?" I ask the feline master.
"Kid, why ask something you already know the answer to?" That's right. He can read minds...
"Your mind is easy enough to read despite not having a fully pure heart. You came all this way to train with me and drink the Ultra Divine Water, something you shouldn't know about." he says with visible interest. My heart is not pure good or pure evil... I figured.
"So what's your name?" Korin asks me.
"Kachoba. I want to train under you so that I can help my friends against King Piccolo."
"Piccolo huh... So he's returned and you want to stop him." the cat god summarizes.
"Not just me, my friends will attempt to do so. Although there is a boy, with a tail like mine, who has alot of promise. No doubt he will come here to get stronger."
"You know more than you let on... You know that he will come. Would he happen to be called Son Goku?" I nod, confirming his beliefs.
"Hmm... I guess I can help you. Though, to take on Piccolo, you need the good stuff."
"Not just that, but the same training Goku went through." I say getting his attention. Despite having his eyes closed, I feel his gaze. "Usually, people want the easy way of getting stronger. You want to be put through the same training as your friend. Okay. No time like the present."
I hum in satisfaction. "Ready when you are."
Meanwhile at the base of Korin's Tower, Karinga Tribe village
"Oh Kachoba... why do you want to gain power so much? Even if it's to beat that monster, you always were eager to improve..." Chips pondered out loud while stroking his blonde beard. The chieftain of the Karinga approaches the worried father with his son.
"Your boy is brave. In some ways he reminds me of my son, Upa." Chips looks over at the man and his boy.
"He is... He was always a fighter. Sending him to school caused problems. Kids called him a monkey because of his tail. He beat them senseless, even when the bullies had backup!" he remembers with a chuckle. "I tried teaching him that fighting other kids, even when they call you names and pick on you, is wrong. But he kept saying 'Daddy! They kept calling me "monkey" this and "monkey boy" that! It made me angry so I taught 'em a lesson. Plus it was fun!'" Chips revealed to the family.
"I had to pull him out of school to teach him myself. Kachoba was glad that he wouldn't be in school anymore. Kids, am I right? Though his quirks didin't end there, oh no. The boy can eat! He eat so much of our food, that there were hardly any left for me. I had to work more just to pay the bills...His love of fighting made me enroll him in all kinds of dojos in West City. He was stronger than most of the students and became stronger and more skilled than the teachers! That Goku boy is his only equal in these departments." he remembered fondly.
"How did you do it? To become so strong and eat so much... he seems to have a lust for battle." Bora asks. "That he does... you probably already know this but Kachoba isn't really my son...Almost sixteen years ago, I found him outside of my outpost in the strangest thing, in a crater. A round pod." Chips begins to explain.
"The baby Kachoba was wearing strange armor...He had a briefcase with name on it weirdly enough... and some things that were marvelous to inspect. A device for measuring one's power, and seeds that were actually used to breed cultivated creatures. One almost attacked me when my boy calmed it! We planted three more and they have been a boon. They were strong. Stronger than Kachoba even! Still are, though he has gotten a bit stronger. He tries his best, but they keep beating him. Too fast." The father reveals more of Kachoba's past.
"Kachoba's tail is his weakness. He loses his power when it's grabbed and pulled. The Saibamen, that's the name of the creatures as I learned from the label on the container, were used to get rid of that weakness. They help us with chores and other tasks. One time, a theif broke into our home and held me at gun point. Kachoba was in a dojo at the time, but my savior were those Saibamen. One of them beat the tar out of him with just a punch! He was arrested and had to get medical treatment. I came that close to dying that day. There was no guarentee that I would die, but those little gremlins saved me, and my research! Ehh..." the bearded man sighs in relief with closed eyes. His eyes open suddenly in realization."
"Oh yeah! We haven't been properly introduced! I'm Chips, Capsule Corp. researcher. Yours?" Chips asks the chief. "I am Bora, Chief of the Karinga people. This is my son, Upa." Bora says as he motions to Upa.
"Hello. I'm Upa! Any friend of Goku is a friend of mine. Father was killed by a powerful man, but Goku beat him, and used the Dragon Balls to bring him back!"
"So the legends were true! And Kachoba's pal helped you? My boy has made some good friends!" Chips comments with a guffaw afterwords.
May 9th, Age 753, dawn
"C'mon kid! For such as promising student, ya sure are slow!" the deity taunts as he dangles the bottle of "Sacred Water" on his staff. The tailed boy lunges for the bottle only to miss and be smacked by Korin's tail. The boy snarls with gritted teeth, but then, relaxes.
(I am trying too hard on seeing where he is at the moment. I must predict where he'll move. Is he reading my mind now?) he pushes that thought out of his mind. And analyzes Korin's movement patterns.
Kachoba concentrates for the seventh time this day and...
"Hyahh!" Snatches the bottle and raises it in victory. "I did it! And I beat Goku's record!"
Kachoba's POV
"Kachoba? Is that you?" a familiar voice asks. I turn my head to see a damaged and weary Goku being carried by Yajirobe, a black haired man with a sword who's obese frame can fool most normal Earthlings.
"Goku! You're alright! Did you beat Krillin's murderer?" I put run up to him and help him get to his feet. "Yeah... I took him out... but a guy called King Piccolo beat me."
"That was a guy from Master Roshi's past. Back then, master and Crane Hermit Shen were apart of the same school of martial arts. Their master, a warrior named Mutaito, defeated Piccolo using a technique that he spent a long time developing." I explain to Goku, who gives me a tired look of amazement.
"You might wanna a get a Senzu Bean. I'll take one too." I offer. Korin goes to retrieve the beans when Yajirobe recovers enough strength.
"Yeah! The beans!" he gets a pot of Senzu and eats handfuls until he becomes overstuffed(one can heal any injury and keep your belly full for ten days). I take two beans and give one to Goku. We both eat them and recover our energy and in Goku's case, heals him.
"Master Korin. I need to train under you to beat-" Goku tries to explain but Korin waves a hand/paw stopping him.
"Save it kid. I know what's goin' down. Piccolo's been causing some problems for ya. Even Master Roshi fell to him."
"What! King Piccolo killed Master Roshi!?" Goku exclaims in shock and horror. I knew that this would happen. Even if I beat Piccolo as a Great Ape under the moon, it would cause more problems than I would like...
"Yes." The cat god confirms somberly.
"I've got to stop him!" My friend tries to leave. I step in front of him shaking my head.
"Goku you can't do this! You would just lose again. We need to come up with a plan!" He looks into my eyes angrily. "We can't just let him get away with this!"
"Listen to your friend! He knows more about Piccolo than you do! Maybe if you were stronger, you could beat him. If you're that determined, then I can bring out the Ultra Divine Water. The Sacred Water's for amateurs. This is the real deal." He brings out a cup with a spout on a table. This was what I seek.
Korin pours the deadly water into two cups. Goku and I walk toward the table. We pick up our cups and look into each other's eyes.
"Goku, whatever you do, don't leave any drop behind. Down it all in one gulp. On the count of three."
"One."
"Two."
"Three!" We down our cups and- OH CRAP! Pain, Pain, PAIN!
"AAAAGHH!" "Aaahgh!"
Darkness envelopes me...
ROAGGHHH!
Vision becomes clear. I am face down on the floor. I rise to my feet. I feel different... and somethings else. Goku and Piccolo!
"Goku... Do you feel anything? I can sense my new power, yet I'm at peace." I ask.
"I feel stronger and at peace too. And I sense Piccolo!" he responds in wonder. "I think we can sense ki!" I say to him.
"That's exactly what you're sensing. Now for a gift. Flying Nimbus!" Korin summons a mass of golden clouds.
"What!? I thought the Flying Nimbus Master Roshi had was the only one!" Goku exclaims. "Nahh. That was just an old model." Korin replies with a revelation.
"Pick a good one. Kachoba, I don't think you fit the bill quite as nicely as Goku." I laugh sheepishly at this.
"Goku, after you pick out a new Nimbus, can you take me to the base of the tower? I need to let dad know I'm alright." "Sure thing!" Goku says before he jumps onto the mass of floating clouds.

Slight spoiler warning. Stop reading if you don't want to be spoiled. This will give you context on how there are multiple Dragon Ball Self Insert stories that I, the Glaring Goblin, have made, and if they are connected.
My oc's from Xenoverse exist in the canon Dragon Ball reality just from different timelines that were recruited into the Time Patrol. All of my characters from the games are in parallel realities as themselves, however the SI variants are from alternate real life Earth's that alternate versions of Fu discovered. They each took an alternate version of me and displaced them at the moment of their demise. Each Fu is currently unaware of the other parallel Earths and his counterparts, yet coincidentally did the same thing. The SI's are reborn into each Fu's respective reality except for the main one.
The prime Dragon World that Akira Toriyama created, and it's dimensions and timelines play no part in my master plan. Though counterparts where it was so similar that it would be the same if not for the Fus and SI variants of me/my characters, will be the focus. So far, you have my Saiyan(Kachoba), my Frieza Clansman(Tundora), and some upcoming ones like my Namekian(Partul), and my Majin(Yakiso).
In short we have the Saiyan Dragon World and timelines, the Frieza Race Dragon World and timelines, etc. Who knows? If I feel like it and if you want it, I can make new realities where the SIs took different paths or got help from Fu, the Time Breakers, etc. One choice can create new timelines and realities. We could have Evil Saiyan Kachoba (Cumber/Kanba and Turles based), God Kachoba (Super Saiyan Rosé 1-2-3), Meta Tundora, Demon Clansman, etc. These what-ifs can possibly be the precursors to crossovers with other realities in Dragon Ball, or other intellectual properties.
