Chapter 4
The Mission
~No one~
Rex went back towards the men to do as his commander asked, ask hmm he liked the sound of that. He knew Dogma's left arm had been broken, but also knew he nor any of the men were going to stay behind so long as they could walk, but he couldn't allow him to continue.
He woke the men telling Dogma due to his injury he could not fight there for could not come. Dogma suggested that he went with Hawk to retrieve the transport since he couldn't fight he still wanted to help. Rex agreed that he could help get a transport so long as Hawk was alright with the new arrangement. Just then Hawk came over, he quickly agree but told Rex that he needed to speak with him.
"Captain I'm not sure that I got a signal out to the command ship before we crashed, there was too much interference so if they replied I was unable to get it. The base may be the only way to know if they got it, and if they even know that we crashed."
"Alright Hawk thank you, I'll see what we can do." Rex dismissed Hawk called Echo over, "Echo!"
Hawk saluted then went back to packing, as Echo came over. "Yes sir."
"I will need you to send a message to the command ship when we reach the base, to see if they know or let them know that we have crashed."
"Understood sir," Echo nodded
Rex told Ahsoka that everyone was able to continue with a small adjustment, she looked at Rex then at the men for a moment, "you're sure?" Rex nodded. They still had a long way to go so they started walking, they walked over half of the day until they were in sight of the base.
~Ahsoka POV~
I turned to look at the men, "Everybody ready?"
"Yes Commander," They replied in unison.
"Okay then, Rex."
Rex turned to his brothers telling everyone where they would be going due to the adjustment. "Dogma since you can't fight, you will be going with Hawk to find us transport to get off this rock, Kix and Fives will go with the Commander to get the information."
Rex turns towards Echo, "Echo, you and I will cause a distraction for the rest of them. Once we are done we will meet up with the others and get a signal to the ship letting them know we are coming up in an enemy ship so that we don't get shot down."
Everybody nodded in agreement then we fanned out, going to different parts of the small base. Hawk and Dogma went around back waiting for the distraction to lure the guards away from their post.
Echo and Rex made their way to the east side where there was the least amount of security, and planted the bombs. Then they would make their way to join Kix, Fives, and the commander, who were going to the top of the base where most of the security and information was.
~~~Landing Pad~~~
Hawk and Dogma waited in the trees using binoculars to see what they had to work with, Hawk was the one who broke the silence. "There doesn't seem to be anything that would be able to leave this planets atmosphere for long." *But that doesn't make sense they would need at least one ship*
Dogma looked at him. "So what you're saying is that we are stuck here."
Hawk lowered his binoculars to look at Dogma, "Well no, they could bring a ship close enough that we could fly up to-"
"OH GREAT, so what you're saying is that we are only half stuck," Dogma said as he crossed his arms leaning against a tree.
Hawk looks at Dogma about his interruption "Or we can find a ship off base that could-" [explosion] they heard the bombs go off as the guards left to investigate, they looked at each other than snuck in to see what they could take we found one that looked like it would work.
~~~East Side~~~
As they placed the final bombs Echo looked around to see that there wasn't nearly as many droids as they had expected, there was only enough to make it look like any other base not one that would be holding important information.
"Captain doesn't it seem like there is a underwhelming lack of droids to you?"
As Rex placed the last bomb he looked around, "It does, I wonder what's going on"
They looked at each other then quickly made their way to the main doors, once they were there they set the bombs off which got the droids attention.
~~~Main Tower~~~
As the three of them made their way to the top of the building where the control room was, and hopefully the information they came for. They were almost at the top when they heard the bombs go off causing some droids to go find out what it was. Even though the explosion distracted many droids including the ones on the landing platform, Ahsoka knew there would still be many in the control room. Before the elevator doors opened Ahsoka ignited her light sabers, and stood ready to fight and protect her men.
"I will help you guys get to cover first."
"Copy that Commander," they stood blasters ready.
Ahsoka figured after the explosion the droids would know something was up, and as she expected once those doors opened the droids were already firing at them. Ahsoka was deflecting the bullets careful not to hit any of the control panels, while Kix and Fives started firing back as they made it out of the elevator behind the nearest control panel.
::Commander we just finished up here we are coming to your location now::
::Copy that Rex, the elevator is coming down::
Seconds later Rex and Echo were in the elevator.
::Commander we are coming up now::
Ahsoka still blocking the bullets made her way towards the elevator, when the doors opened Rex and Echo saw the slim orange figure of their commander blocking the way. Ahsoka helped Rex and Echo make their way to cover, as they shot the droids from behind her.
They were expecting more droids but instead of lots, these ones were just kind of advanced but they still put up a good fight. Still the battle didn't last for very long before there was only a couple left, and Ahsoka took care of them with the last one plugged into the console probably trying to make a last attempt to call for back up.
Once the droids were all gone Echo made his way to a control panel, and tried to get a signal to their ship to tell them they had crashed. As Ahsoka went to the main control panel to find the information which she thought she found all to easily. That was until she started to copy it a self-destruct virus came up, she tried to bypass it to shut it down, but nothing was working as her fingers were typing frantically on the keyboard she called Rex over.
