Chapter 10

The Attack

~*No One*~

Dogma and Fives were talking more like arguing at the cave entrance, when all of a sudden Ahsoka shot up from where she was sleeping and ran past them and right out of the cave. Fives and Dogma, shocked at what just happened, ran after her calling out for her. Just then something came running out of the forest straight for them, as Ahsoka ran straight for it neither one showed any signs of slowing down.

Ahsoka didn't slow down; she kept running until she was close enough to confuse it when she jumped, and started fighting it with her bare hands. They had never seen anything like it, they tried to help but she force pushed them back. She started growling at them and yelling that she couldn't have any help and she had to do this, they didn't recognize her for a moment.

The beast then ran off into the forest with her on it's back, Dogma and Fives ran after them as Echo woke the others. The two heard howl/screams and ran towards the sound seeing Ahsoka shaking on the ground covered in blood beside the dead creature. She started saying something in Togruti but they didn't understand.

Fives helped Ahsoka to her feet as she was walking; she eventually stopped walking and became dead weight. Fives was concerned and told Dogma, who looked at her. They needed to get her back to the cave in case more of those things showed up. As they were taking her back they met up with the others minus Echo came out of the trees.

Rex saw Ahsoka leaning on Fives with her eyes shut, before he could say anything, the group heard the howl/screams of at least two more of the beasts. Then saw them charging towards them, one headed straight for Fives and Ahsoka. Rex saw this and pushed them out of the way so the beast ran into him, pinning him to the ground Hawk started shooting at it. The beast's body turned to dead weight as it fell to the ground, Rex rolled out before it could crush him.

They had killed what they thought was the last one until another jumped from out of nowhere again at Five and Ahsoka. Fives pushed Ahsoka away from him as the beast pinned him to the ground, he couldn't reach his blaster. As the beast ripped through part of his armor he screamed in pain, just then the pressure was gone.

Fives tried to look around to see where it had gone, while Kix was at his side trying to stop the bleeding. Fives looked to his left to find the beast dead beside him, with Hawk trying to move it which Fives thought was weird.

Kix was trying to see if Fives was alright, trying to get him to answer, but he wasn't paying attention to Kix. He wanted to figure out why his brother was trying to move a dead beast, it wasn't until Dogma and Hawk pulled Rex away from it that he realized he was partly under it.

They all made their way slowly back to the cave where Echo sat patiently waiting. Ahsoka, Rex and Fives were already falling asleep or were asleep by the time they returned. Kix with the help of Hawk, Dogma and Echo got everyone cleaned up and bandaged. Once they were finished Dogma started falling asleep he didn't realize how tired he was until the adrenaline was gone. Plus how quiet it had gotten he leaned his head back against the wall and fell asleep.

Hawk and Echo stayed awake well the rest fell asleep whether from their injuries or exhaustion, Hawk started up a convention with Echo. "It doesn't make sense. First they blow up a building that was supposed to be important, then we get attacked by beasts that seem to be going after the commander." Echo listened knowing that he had roughly the same thoughts.

~*Rex*~

Waking up in the cave I could tell it was early in the morning. Seeing only Kix was awake as I looked around and saw everyone except Ahsoka. Then the memory of what happened last night hit me, fearing the worst. I started to get up but was met with a wave of pain and a hand on his shoulder, turned to see that it was Kix not letting me up.

"And where do you think you are going, Captain?"

I Ignored what he asked, not really paying attention. "Where's the Commander?"

"Don't worry Captain we got her, you just need to rest."

"But where is she, Kix?" I said more worrily than I intended.

He let out a sign, "She wanted to get some fresh air for a little bit so she's outside, I was about to go see if she was ready to come in."

I let out a sign of relief to finally know where she was. What is that about? "Well it looks like you have your hands full here I can go get her, plus you look exhausted."

"Are you sure? What about you? You did take quite the hit and your arm?" He points to Rex's rapped arm which he hadn't noticed.

"I'm sure and I still have this arm," I held up my other arm.

"Alright Captain she's just up the hill you can't miss her."

"Okay Kix, now you should get some rest."

"Would love to, sir but I think I'll go see what medicine I can find on this planet, with all the new wonders we are running out fast."

"Oh alright, take this flare with you if you get into trouble."

"Yes sir." He said as he walked out of the cave, "she's just up there."

~Dogma~

I woke up to the sound of my brothers talking, I could feel something on my shoulder. I wondered if the commander had fallen asleep on me after all but when I turned and looked to see it was Hawk.

"HAWK WHAT ARE YOU DOING? GET OFF ME!" Pushing Hawk off me only made my brothers start to laugh, as I got up I noticed that Kix, Rex and Ahsoka weren't there. "Where are the others?"

"Kix is probably with the commander and Rex probably didn't listen to Kix and has gone for a walk, I'm gonna guess to see how our rescue party is coming along" Echo shrugged "That's my guess."

Just as Echo finished talking Kix walked into the cave, Echo looked at him confused. "Where's the commander I thought she'd be with you?"

"She was." Kix said, walking towards his bag.

"Then where is she?" Echo said now concerned.

"Outside," Kix said, not really hearing the worry.

"Kix" I said annoyed

Kix looked up from his bag "She wanted to go outside so she's outside and she wants to be alone."

~*No One*~

Ahsoka was outside laying on the grass looking towards the sky watching how the wind danced in the trees and the clouds floated past. She closed her eyes, resting an arm over her stomach concentrating on healing herself. When she felt something coming towards her she opened her eyes, shot up ready to attack, until she saw that it was Rex coming up the hill. She hoped he didn't see her jump as she layed back down trying to get rid of some of her pain that she got from shooting her body up.

She could now feel someone standing over her, she opened her eyes to see Rex as he looked down at her, as Rex was about to say something Ahsoka turned on her side opposite to the one she was holding. She tried to hide her face but not before Rex saw it, she looked like she hadn't gotten any sleep or had been crying.

Rex, now full of concern bent down beside her, "Hey Kid is-?"

"Rex I really don't want to talk, please just leave me alone."

Rex really didn't want to push her but he had to at least get her inside before it got too cold. "Alright but Kix said to come inside"

"Am I needed?" She started getting up.

Rex could see that she was still in a lot of pain. "No commander, no" he said as he got her to lay back down, "I'm sorry didn't mean to make you move."

"That's ok Rex," she paused, still not wanting to talk but Rex didn't look like he was going anywhere so she decided to change the topic, "any luck with a rescue?"

"I don't see any signs of someone coming to get us."

"Alright hmm" she closed her eyes, holding her side that felt like it was on fire.

"Are you ok, commander? I saw you jump earlier." He tried to move her hand that was covering her side but she held it firmly in place.

"I'm fine Rex."

"Ahsoka." Her eyes opened wide. It was weird to hear Rex say her name, they looked at each other for a moment before Rex spoke. "Ahsoka you care about everyone, can you do me a favor and take care of yourself the way you take care of us, I need you to let me see your side."

Ahsoka lay there enable to say anything. She just moved her hand from her side so Rex could see the red patch on her bandages, just then a man walks towards them.
