Can you write about Duke moving on and one day Rose and him meet again and she's happy for him?

Absolutely!

I'm spending today bringing shitty movies and drinking cider so keep on sending in the prompts?

Warnings for this one: written on my phone

Rose stared down at her grocery list, pushing the cart slowly down the aisle. She was a methodical shopper while Jake wandered off and brought back things that may or may not be on the list. Rose looked up, turning toward the cucumbers and coming face to face with a

She looked up to see a little girl standing in the produce section. She looked to be about three with dark skin and hair. She was clutching her doll upside down and was chewing on her fingers.

"Hi," Rose said, looking around and seeing no one. She knelt down. "I'm Rose. What's your name?"

"Where's Mommy?" she asked.

"I don't know but I'll help you find her, okay?"

The little girl stared at Rose, evaluating her.

"I'm Rose." She didn't know what to say to children. She and Jake were starting to talk more seriously about the subject but for now Rose felt at a loss.

"Mommy?"

"Arisha! Arisha!"

The little girl lit up. "Daddy!"

"Arisha!"

Rose stood up, calling, "She's over here!"

And then, over the oranges in the produce section, for the first time in six years, Rose locked eyes with Duke Eloi.

"Rose?"

"Daddy!"

Duke came around the fruit display and scooped the little girl up. "Arisha, don't you run away like that!"

Arisha giggled and hugged his neck, happy in his arms.

"She's beautiful," Rose said, not sure what else to say. She wasn't even sure if she should still be standing here.

"Thank you. She's almost three. My girlfriend, Alisha, and I have been together four years."

"That's great," Rose said and she really meant it. She could see the happiness on his face when he kissed Arisha's cheeks. "I'm glad to hear it."

"And you?" Duke asked.

"It's great too," Rose said, not wanting to rub in the fact that, even though how she got here haunted sometimes, she was blissed out happy in her life now.

"I'm glad to hear it," Duke said.

And he seemed genuine too.
