Duke universe prompt. Rose has to be the Huntsgirl again.

Sorry these slowed down! Personal life got in the way but I'm always accepting them so keep on submitting them For those of you who requested song fics, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about those either!

I'm stealing some inspo from thecaroliner for this one. Hopefully she doesn't mind

Warnings for this one: violence, written on my phone

Rose adjusted her headphone in her ear. "Rach? Are you there?"

"I'm here," Rachelle said. "Just waiting for a cab and then I'll be at your place soon. Can we order from that sushi place I like?"

Rose laughed. "You're always so hungry post flight!"

"Hey, I brought you the good French Chardonnay, the least you can do is feed me."

"That's true." Rose adjusted her bag over her shoulder, breathing in the fall day as she headed home from work. "The usual?"

"Yeah," Rachelle said through the phone, "and I - Oh, sorry, one second." Her voice faded a little as she turned away from her cell. "Sir, sorry, this is the taxi line here."

"Rose Eloi, you're coming with us."

Rose's heart skipped a beat and her steps stutterd. The man's voice wasn't coming from behind her but was coming to her from her twin's phone!

"I'm not Rose," Rachelle stuttered and then Rose heard Rachelle yelp. "Let go!"

"We've seen you with the American Dragon," the voice rumbled. "You're coming with us now."

"I'm the wrong person!"

Rose heard a thud as the cell phone was dropped to the ground.

"Rachelle!" Rose shouted, frozen in the middle of the sidewalk. "Rach!"

She heard her sister scream but despite crying out, there was nothing else coming from the end of the line. Rose's knees started to knock together as questions flooded through her brain. Who? What? How? Why?

Jake!

It took all of Rose's inner strength to hang up the call with Rachelle and dial Jake's number.

"Hey," he said so casually that it hurt Rose's stomach. "What's up?"

"Someone just kidnapped Rachelle," Rose said with a sob, the story flooding out of her. Her legs couldn't take it anymore and she slid onto the grass next to the sidewalk.

"I'm on it," Jake said with a hard edge to his voice. "I think I know exactly who did this. Go home and stay safe. I'll call you when I know something. I love you."

"I love you too," Rose said, feeling desolate as he hung up.

Go home? Stay safe?

Rose didn't know how to do anything, she just knew that she couldn't sit idly by. She stared down at her hands. A long time ago, she hadn't been someone who sat idly by. A long time ago, she had been trained as someone who would not go home and be safe. A long time ago, she was someone who had fought at Jake's side. Rose hadn't been that person in a very long time. She wasn't much of a fighter but she knew there were some things worth fighting for.

And Rose would always fight for her sister.

Rose stood from the ground, letting the strength from that other life fill her. Rose had spent most of this life not knowing that girl and she could admit that she still didn't know that girl very well. There were things about that girl that she admired - her courage, her honour, her strength - but there were many things about that girl - her ferocity, her soldier training, the things the Huntsclan put her through - that scared Rose to her core.

She let all of it flood into her and steady her steps and strengthen her spine. She was going to get her sister back. She wasn't going to be helpless.

Like it was something that she'd never forgotten, Rose let herself into a Huntsclan weapons cache. The time in between had dustied it and covered it in cobwebs but it was all intact. Rose ran her hands over the masks and the weapons, trying not to feel everything at once.

Rachelle's scream filled her ears and Rose didn't hesitate.

The Huntsgirl was hunting again.
