Hello my readers happy early Halloween too, Good news is I've gotten all the other chapters pritty much updated, I'm just near done redoing chapter 15 of the first story, I keep rereading it over and make any last minute changes and all that fun stuff, plus the chapter is going to be longer then I normally come out with so that's why it's taking a bit longer then normal.
So this chapter is kinda my version of the BlueBallz episode, next chapter I have to explain I have 2 versions of the spoiler alert episode part of this seasons story in mind I'm just not sure which one I want to really do. I hope everyone has a good Halloween, stay safe and wear your mask.
Selene and Lucifer was enjoying their peaceful night rebonding time, when Lucifer's phone went off, It was Chloe on the phone which meant there was a murder, it was 3 am. Lucifer let out a sigh and answered as Selene was having another drink. She had so much to think about, but she was happy that life was starting to feel normal again, at least for now. Lucifer hung up after taking the call, "I'm terribly sorry about this darling." Selene shook her head at him, "Don't be things are feeling normal already. Go. I'll be fine I'll just spend the night and leave in the morning. You need some normalcy in your life too Lucifer." She walked up to him and gave him a kiss.
"Once the case is over, you and I will have our time." Lucifer sighed before leaving, she watched him leave with a warm smile. She watched him leave and then she made herself at home.
(Selene's POV thoughts)
I really need to stop having so much doubts about me and Lucifer, We're normal, yet we're not normal, I wonder if we can ever have peace, peace without family drama on the celestial level.
More importantly, find peace with in myself. No thanks to Michael I was happy enough to embrace all of me, now I just can't seem to do that. How can embrace the relationship Lucifer and I built If I can't embrace myself.
What am I going to do?

Selene had finished her drink with one more cigarette, then got comphy on the couch with a movie on. Within a hour she was asleep, She needed a safe place to sleep, even though Michaels presence in Lucifer's house made it not feel so comfortable, Lucifer being back on earth was enough to make her content.
When morning came Selene recived a call from the California Polo Club, they needed Selene's assistance with another one of their horses. Selene asked if the guys would take care of the horses for her, she had to go to the Polo club to help them. Selene sighed as she threw on a change of clothes she had with her, an grabbed everything she needed and left the penthouse.
Meanwhile at the California Polo Club where Lucifer and Chloe are interviewing all the Jockey's when Selene showed up. Selene had the 'you gotta be kidding me' look and groaned, "Well, this not how I was expecting to start my day." She said under her breath before exiting the jeep. Lucifer saw her and frowned as he wasn't expecting to see Selene here, "Good morning, Selene. What on earth are you doing here?" Selene approached the two of them. "Have you forgotten my reputation is like huge in the Equestrian world. I'm here to help with a horse." Chloe looked at Selene, "Well, given what I have seen. You would be the one fit to calm a horse that's not letting the LAPD open the stall with the dead body."
Selene should have known this was going to be a challenge, "Who's the dead victim?" Selene asked walking into the stable with them behind her, "Victim is Horse trainer, Bryce Harrington. According to the owner he was doing a nightly grounds check after hearing something strange. He also is the club's security." Chloe said as Forensics moved away to make room for Selene. "Why am I honestly not surprised by this. Stay back everyone." Selene said She felt lucky to carry treats since she forgot to take them out at home for her horses.
Selene got in front of the distressed horse's stall, "Easy there buddy." She pulled out a treat out of her pocket and carefully opened the door, clicking her tongue. "Want a treat?" the horse snorted pacing back and forth in the stall, "You're alright bud, it's ok calm down." She opened the door all the way slowly as she held out her hand with the treat. Lucifer and the others looked on watching her intently at what she dose best, the forensic team and Ella were on high alert if anything were to happen now that Selene had the door open.
The snorting stopped and the horse had locked eyes with Selene, with a careful step into the stall she coaxed the horse to come for the treat, with a sniff the horse calmed down and taken the treat letting Selene touch him, "Good boy. See. You're alright, no one is going to hurt you." She lead the horse out being careful about the body. The members of the club clapped at such a amazing job, The forensic team were able to move in to assist the crime scene properly now.
Selene ended up stopping when she noticed a horse in the stall, she immediately recognized the horse. "I can't believe I would ever run into you Selene." a male voice said walking into the building caught Lucifer's attention, while Chloe was examining the body with Ella. The mystery guy walked up and gave Selene a big tight hug, seeing this ruffled Lucifer's feathers a bit wondering who the handsome mysterious man hugging Selene was. Lucifer didn't hesitate to step in and find out what was going on, "I can't believe you're here in LA." The guy said as Selene chuckled, "Well, It ain't just me out here, everyone of the guys and ladies back home are here in LA with me."
"Who's this?" Lucifer asked startling Selene, "Oh, hi. Lucifer, this is a old friend of mine from back home, Aiden Davis. He and my brother use to be Polo team mates. Aiden, this is Lucifer." Selene introduced them as Aiden held out his hand, "Nice to meet you, such a strange name to be called Lucifer." Aiden said examining Lucifer. Selene jumped the subject before Lucifer could put his two cent's input in. "Aiden, what brings you out here to LA I mean I had no idea you transferred out here." Aiden cleared his throat, "Uh, yeah, well I needed a fresh start I just moved out here 3 months ago. I wasn't aware you have been here in LA as well, I thought you would have stayed home on the ranch helping Colt."
Selene shook her head, "I've been living out here since I was 19. Wait till Aly here's you're in LA-" Aiden stopped her, "Really? Aly's here?" Aiden asked surprised, "What dose Aly have anything to do with this guy?" Lucifer asked Selene, "Aiden is Aly's Ex boyfriend they use to be so perfect together." Aiden frowned at Selene's sarcastic cold words, "I know, I know I hurt Aly, I picked a different path for myself, and ended it with Aly, I still love her though, It's been a few years but I haven't stopped thinking about her. I'm sure she has moved on I don't expect her not to, I rather not bring up the pain of dumping her face to face."
Selene sighed, "So what do you think happened to Bryce? Did he have any enemies? or been acting strange theses days?" Aiden snorted, "When wasn't the guy, he was such a buzz kill when it came to us bonding with our horse, he use to be chill guy. then one night, he just been aggressive when it come's to practice, that and he's been abusing his own horse." Selene raised a eyebrow at him, "Abusing how?" Aiden sighed leaving against a stall wall. "Well, I found out he's using one of them prank handshake gags devices on his horse to make him go faster." Lucifer spoke up, "So, In return someone gave him a taste of his own doing."
Aiden nodded, "None of us really liked the guy. Quite the critic when it came caring for the horses, like we don't know what his problem was, I'd say I may not known him long, but he seemed stressed." Selene hummed in thought, "Ah yes I remember hearing about that I'm surprised this place even hired him." Selene smiled at Aiden, "If you ever change your mind Aly will be at the Coyote Lounge, that's my bar."
Aiden looked at her surprised, "You own a bar? You gave up your rodeo career to be a barkeeper? what next your going to tell me you have finally gotten into a relationship as well." he started to snicker like it was a joke. Selene wasn't sure what to call her relationship with Lucifer, but her mouth just decided to say something. "A Relationship. Uh.. well No, I mean not exactly per se. No." Selene glanced at Lucifer as he had a slight frown, " I mean, thing's are complicated right now, really, really complicated. You know how relationships get especially how much strain the rodeo did for your cousin's relationship."
Aiden nodded in agreement, "That rough huh, well I'm sure things will get better, after all, you have rare talent, not many people have your skills at taming and training horses. You'll find someone that will appreciate you." He smiled and looked at the time, "I'll let you get on your way I'm going to start taking care of Chaplin, It's good seeing you Songbird." he walked away from them. Selene decided to get to work helping out with the horse that had a dead body in it's stall was getting antsy when forensics moved the body, Selene was calming it down.
"Bullocks." He wanted to know why Selene was called Songbird, this made him curious as he saw Selene help move the horse outside. He followed after wanting to know about the name. Selene got the horse into the paddock outside, turned around to see Lucifer. "Lucifer, about what I said. This new 'us' we... we don't even know where we are at right now. Do we?" Lucifer looked at her, "No, I suppose not. dare I say I agree 'complicated' is the appropriate word for our relationship right now." He said as she was surprised he would also agree to calling their restarted relationship complicated.
"So, 'Songbird'. Is that a nickname from your old Rodeo days?" Lucifer asked curious it was so obvious. "Uh...well I go by a few names, but Songbird was my main nickname. It's because I use to sing to Jack and all the other horses, Colt and Aiden caught me doing it. Somehow I knew I have a chance making it better as a singer, then a rodeo champion, but I was wrong I succeeded both." Selene hummed as something in her gut told her something is wrong with Aiden. "Something tells me there's a bigger reason Aiden is avoiding Aly...I'm gonna have to see if Aly knows anything."
Lucifer nodded, "Well I shall be going I do hope you will come back tonight." Selene nodded, "Yeah I can get out of work early." She smiled at him then went back inside as Lucifer left to go to the precinct with Chloe. Selene went over to Aiden who was cleaning out the stall for Chaplin, "Hey there, Chaplin." She gave the horse a belly rub. "Well, you and that Lucifer guy seem friendly, who is he to you?" Aiden asked her dumping poop in the wheelbarrow. "Oh, He's um a friend of mine He owns the night club Lux, part time LAPD consultant. He's nice to have a drink with time to time."
Selene felt it was so easy to lie to Aiden, "So how has Chaplin been since the last time I've seen this handsome mustang." Aiden smiled, "He's been great, he has had a few relapses but I kept doing what you done and he was back in control of himself." Selene smiled checking him over, "Good. I hate to ask, but why are you and Aly not together anymore, I mean, you two were the perfect couple." Aiden couldn't hide it any longer, "Well, I suppose I should come clean, Partially it was because i wanted to focus on Polo career. The other reason was well, You." Selene blinked then her mouth hung open.
"Wait, Me? are you saying you had a thing for me?" Aiden stopped cleaning and sighed, "Yeah, sorta like a celebrity crush, but it wasn't serious. Selene, you needed a man that wouldn't treat you as the other cowboys with their buckle bunnies." Aiden stated like it was a fact, "11 years ago we all wanted trophy hot women. Aly wasn't a trophy, but I did and still do love her. You on the other hand proved us all wrong when we thought some day you would be someone's buckle bunny, It's nice that you proved us wrong."
Selene didn't know if she should be flattered, or pissed she was used for a bet, "You got this way with horses none of us will ever understand. A gift like that should be appreciated, not seen as some dust collector." Selene looked down at her feet, wondering if he was right, the words felt like they were right, " I seen the way you look at that Lucifer guy. You're totally into him aren't you?" Selene flushed as she was embarrassed, "Ah, well, I..." She had to gather her thoughts, "I feel so unworthy, that I'm doubtful about," She cleared her throat, "If there's a chance of ever being together for eternity. He likes me, but not in the 'Like like' category were just drinking buddies mainly."
Just saying that left a fowl taste in her mouth. Selene was wondering if this was how Lucifer felt when dealing with being stuck in his devil form. The conflict of emotions, the thoughts, about everything. unintentionally released lunar energy to calm the horses "I know Lucifer and Detective Decker will gain justice, but before I get on out of here. You wouldn't happen to be keeping anything from me? Known enemies, anyone that might maybe want to frame you incase this somehow ends up being a frame job? or is there a reason your horse's hay is laced with salt." Selene tried to suppress her eyes color change as she got firm.
Aiden was looked at her confused, "Salt? What do you mean?" She had a blank look on her face, "What you didn't notice Chaplin is bloated plus there's salt glistening outside the stall too. Someone must have been salting the hay." Selene said, and Aiden saw that look in her eye that he had seen once before. he looked in the water bucket "Now that you pointed it out," He looked in the water bucket, it was empty, "The water is empty I filled that completely last night. Chaplin doesn't drink a lot all night." Selene looked right at him with with a monotone voice, "Well, someone is obviously out to ruin you, though this could be the killer's doing since Bryce is dead and there's no container's of salt here."
Aiden felt a chill down his spine, "Well, If I hear anything more on the case, I'll let you know. Here's my card." She pulled out a card with her address and cell, Aiden took it. "What ever reason you have for not wanting to see Aly, It better be a good reason. Have a nice day my job is done." Selene took her leave heading home for the day to get training in, even to do some trick riding stunts. Selene did hit Aly up when she got home that afternoon and was hoping for a responce as she answered by voice to text.
SH: Hey girl you won't believe who I ran into. Aiden. He lives out here now last few months.
AH: Aiden? For real?
SH: Yeah. He's at the Polo club, a murder happened there.
AH: Murder? Is Aiden involved? Is he ok?
SH: Yeah, I offered him to come by the bar an say hi. He refused to even see you.
AH: I'm not surprised, he only used me to get close to you, even Colt knew that, why did you think Colt gave up his Polo life to be more help to you. Colt took the stand when aunt Kat died, and you got out of the hospital from the car accident with Shadow. That's why Colt was all for giving you a fresh life away from home.
Selene had no idea about that part, that stunned her to know that Colt was the reason for this fresh start to move out here. Selene had never felt more grateful for what her brother had done. At least she was home, outback in private to use her powers whenever she wanted. Selene's phone went off this time it was Amenadiel asking for help with Charlie later, Like normal she was happy to help Amenadiel with Charlie. She loved Charlie and she had been quite helpful giving Linda and Amenadiel a break. She was starting to have a weird feeling, her eyes glowed, and shadowy dark fog spread out, with umbrakinesis she made the shadows move and swirl at her feet.
She began to bend the shadow to her will and movements, she needed to do this time to time to let go and feel like she was whole and free. Knowing what Aly had said helped her a lot more, Selene's power has grown stronger then before, that she was having visions of her memories, the ones that mattered the most in her life. Feelings of emotions flooded with the memories she had seen, everything up to meeting Amenadiel, and then Lucifer. Selene held the necklace Lucifer gave her for her birthday, the shadow had receded when she felt warmth flood her veins.
Selene started to sing while her eyes glowed looking up to the sky. She felt the time was perfect as the clear LA sky, She didn't sing anything in particular it was just more humming a tune she was feeling inside herself, Until her phone ringtone went off. She didn't even have to look at it to see who it was, It was Lucifer. When she answered he gave her update on there's a possible chance Aiden's life could be in danger, since someone had blown up Aiden's car after learning the cops wanted him at the precinct.
Selene's gut was right, so she asked Lucifer to keep Aiden safe, to which she had found out, Lucifer was already on his way back to the penthouse now with Aiden. This worried Selene a bit for Aiden, being left in the care of the once again former king of Hell, there was no telling what Lucifer would do to him. Selene sighed and hoped Lucifer wouldn't do anything rash to Aiden.
Meanwhile at the penthouse, Lucifer and Aiden had gotten off the elevator, "Wow, Nice place, I like the fact it's pretty tame compared to some penthouse styles I've seen on TV." Lucifer chuckles, "A man with refine tastes." Aiden sighed, "I can't believe I'm here, This whole murder of Bryce, now my car blows up outside the precinct, I've had a lot of crazy things happen, but this...I don't know about this." Aiden said trying to understand the whole mess he was in.
"One would say this was done by a madman, or a con man say, to gain attention to a old flame?" Aiden took it as Lucifer thought Aiden was gonna try and steal Selene away from him, "But of course it would be pointless however, Selene is spoken for." Aiden looked at Lucifer confused as if he didn't understand. "Wait, you think Selene's a old flame?" Aiden asked Lucifer, "She said things are complicated, I assumed she was having a unrequited love moment." Lucifer stared him down, "Well, She is in fact in a relationship." Aiden was now starting to catch on.
"Ah, Ok. I see now you're interested in her aren't you, I mean who can blame you, Selene is special, and her way with horses. I'll admit I did have feelings for her at one time, but I got over it." Lucifer rolled his eyes and made his way over to the bar, "I'm not interested in her, Selene and I are seeing each other." Aiden was slightly amused by this moment. "Listen, Selene's amazing, no, special. The things she can do with horses, one day as I watched her grow up to be a performer, Colt an I were kinda worried for Selene. Worried that someone see her more like a trophy, when she's so much more then that."
Lucifer listened as he grabbed two glasses from the bar and the finest top shelf bourbon, "But I'm happy to see she's doing well, granted, years ago I wanted to get with her because well, she was a worthy person, that and well, I saw her like some buckle bunny arm candy. instead, I got with Aly to get over Selene, and that was then I saw the errors of my thoughts." Lucifer moved swiftly to Aiden causing him to have to know, "So tell me, Aiden. What it is that you truly desire?" Aiden had the look of any other mortal.
"I... I desire to get Aly back. I love her, and I've missed her a lot. It's my fault I made her feel so abandoned that she would do the same to me." Aiden cringed remembering that day, "Sometimes my mind wandered to Selene wondering what could have been, but then...seeing her now, compared to 11 years ago, she's changed, a good change honestly. My memories do not do that girl justice." Aiden said as he made himself comfortable on the bar stool, "All feelings I had came flooding back I just need to push those feelings aside once again. I've made a lot of mistakes I do hate myself for out of habit. I guess now Im paying a bigger price."
Lucifer poured him a drink, "Really? How so?" Lucifer asked Aiden as he took a sip, "there's a lot of things about Selene I will never understand. See, Selene took notice my horse Chaplin's hay and another horse's hay had salt, even salt all over the floor, and I know my Chaplin doesn't drink a full bucket of water over night, right now he's waterlogged that he can't be as fast, she said it's likely been done by Bryce's killer, Bryce might have tried to stop the sabotage so we keep a fair game." Aiden said as Lucifer was particularly interested as he had similar experience with Selene.
"Selene see's every horse like a mystery, wondering what would be the trick to solve the horse's personal issues, or horse and rider's connection. I see her as a mystery myself, one I've given up solving for someone else, there's no solving Selene, this coming from someone that's been in her life for like ever." Aiden sighed, "But Aly, I wish she hadn't dumped me, we were like the perfect couple, then one day just when I was thinking about proposing to her that day, She called it off, no warning no hesitation."
Lucifer looked at him like he was confused, "So she flat out changed how she felt about you?" he asked being nice enough to refill his glass. "Yeah, it sucked, so I got focused into my polo career. She dropped the bombshell she was moving out of state in turn dumped me for a fresh start. My mistake was wearing my heart on my sleeve for once, Selene was smart focusing on her own career paths an wanted to get financiallyl. stable. It's also nice to see her little more laid back and not uptight."
Lucifer's phone rang it was Selene, "Ah, speaking of the devil's girlfriend." he picked it up and decided to send it to voice mail, "Are you sure that's wise to do? She can be quite spiteful." Lucifer smiled putting his phone down and took a sip of his drink, "You said she likes mysteries, well then a mystery I shall be. And I know a place she will not expect me to be." Lucifer grinned deviously and took Aiden over to his brothers.
Once the got to Amenadiel they herd Dan singing horribly off key it made Lucifer and Aiden cringe. Amenadiel had a blank stoic face bouncing Charlie, "What are you doing?" Lucifer asked walking down the steps with Aiden behind him. "I've been trying to sooth Charlie for...It's-" Amenadiel hesitated as he was just as exhausted he looked at Dan, "What time is it?" Dan felt defeated, "I don't know. I don't know. I'm here helping out." Dan said slightly panicked as he had no idea what to do anymore.
Lucifer picked up the sound soother trying to turn it off but Dan took it and did it for him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Selene or helping Chloe catch the killer?" Dan asked confused and breathless from singing. "I'm here because I'm being mysterious." Lucifer said bluntly beaming with pride. this confused Dan greatly, "Huh?" Lucifer was more then happy to elaborate, "Well, the last Place Selene would ever find me is with a baby, so... here I am." Amenadiel was just as confused on what his own brother was up to.
"That still doesn't answer my question. But if you're going to stay..." Amenadiel shifted Charlie around to look at Lucifer, "You have any idea's how to stop this?" Charlie was crying like a banshee as Lucifer pulled out his flask, "Have you tried whiskey?" He smiled holding the flask up.
Amenadiel was getting to work on putting Charlie's bottles together, when Lucifer came from the kitchen holding a milk jug, "Got milk." Amenadiel could tell his brother was too chipper for his liking to be avoiding Selene. Amenadiel got frustrated with the bottles, "Not that milk, Lucy." He said getting up to get the right milk. Aiden was helping rock Charlie who was still crying, Dan was starting to get paranoid, since he's been at whits end all day helping Amenadiel out.
"You're doing it too fast." Dan said to Aiden swinging Charlie at a steady pace, "You're doing it wrong. here just hand him to me." Dan said jumping up from his seat to take Charlie, Aiden willingly handed him over, "Be my guest." Dan showed Aiden how it was done, shushing Charlie the way he use to do for Trixie. Charlie soon stopped crying finally it was peace and quiet. "So, Do you think Detective Decker will catch the killer?" Aiden asked Dan as he gave him a look, "Chloe always get's the criminals, no matter how sneaky they try to be, she never gives up." Dan said keeping Charlie content and quiet for a few minutes longer, until Charlie started to cry again.
Lucifer decided to make himself comfortable, as Dan was there helping Amenadiel with Charlie while Lucifer and Aiden were just relaxing, when Lucifer's phone went off again with Selene's name on it. Lucifer stood up just as Dan came out to the living room for a break from entertaining Charlie, to see Lucifer casually toss his phone out the window. "Dude, did you just throw your phone out the window?" Dan asked confused with Lucifer's behavior. Aiden spoke up, "He's avoiding Selene right now." Dan looked at Lucifer like he was crazy, "Jeez, your such a weirdo."
Suddenly, Selene was calling on Amenadiel's phone he was holding on to while they took turns tending to Charlie the last few hours, "I don't agree with what you're doing man- oh it's her now." Dan said answering the phone as Lucifer sat down and stayed quiet. "Hey, what's up? No, no I haven't seen Lucifer. Yeah, yeah, no sure it's alright you take care of your bar and we will see you when you get here." He hung up and gave Lucifer a look. "Alright, Lucifer, what reason do you have to be avoiding Selene?"
Lucifer smiled as he was happy to answer, "Well, Daniel, Selene likes a mystery challenge, so, I'm being a mystery for her." He said looking prideful of his plan. Dan poured himself a drink, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever herd." He said to Lucifer. Lucifer scoffed at Dan, "Aiden explains it so much better, don't you-" Lucifer didn't see Aiden anywhere, he stood up completely confused. Dan was amused by this mess up, "Looks like you got played. You should have known that someday that was bound to happen to you." Dan said flatly.
"I mean, come on, is this something you really want to do to Selene? You're sending the wrong kind of message to someone you left behind the last 2 months." Dan said to Lucifer a bit cranky tone due to exhaustion. "Not to mention taking advice from someone that's been a little too friendly with her at the crime scene. Chloe told me." Lucifer stood there thinking about his actions and realization hit. "Jeez, I can't believe you left that guy a wide opening to make a move." Dan sighed, "I'm gonna see if I can catch him." Dan said leaving Lucifer alone as his rage bubbled.
Amenadiel walked out with Charlie wailing, with a concerned look for his brother, "What's wrong?" Lucifer started seething as his eyes turned red, "I believe I've been manipulated, brother. By that rotten polo jockey" Amenadiel was calm despite Charlie crying. "Okay, calm down, Lucy." Lucifer was growling, "Bad enough when Father dose it, But that little cretin!" Amenadiel saw Lucifer's eyes glow brighter, Amenadiel had to get Lucifer calm before he goes Devil faced.
"Lucy, Dan might be outside talking to him." Lucifer was seething, "Good! I'll Get to show him just who he's playing with." His devil face appeared as he growled Charlie shortly after stopped crying looking at Lucifer. Amenadiel and Lucifer ha a confused look seeing Charlie had stopped crying and returned his face to normal. "That's odd." Charlie screams again and Amenadiel encouraged Lucifer to do it again, Lucifer put his devil face back on and made funny faces at Charlie, to which Charlie was happy and laughing.
Dan's voice could be herd coming back from the open door as Lucifer returned to normal just in time, "I'm gonna have to call Chloe and let her know Aiden is MIA. Who knows where he is. Selene is working with Chloe no less." Lucifer was ready to leave after Dan went back out the door. "I'll find him." Lucifer said as he made his way to the door, but Amenadiel spoke up, "Aiden may have manipulated you brother, but you let it happen, and besides you know Selene's heart belongs to you." Lucifer stopped in his tracks to think rationally, "I suppose you're right." Amenadiel was bouncing Charlie as he was crying, "Also, I need you to help me to get Charlie to stop crying." Lucifer growled as his eyes glowed red, he walked back down the steps and played with Charlie some more to tire him out.
Meanwhile that night, Selene was out on a sting at with Chloe playing security at the polo club, waiting outside hidden for the suspect to make a return. Selene sighed as she checked her phone hoping to hear from Lucifer, unfortunately it was texts from Aly. Selene looked at Chloe, "Hey, Chloe. You wouldn't happen to know any chance why Lucifer is ghosting me?" She asked with a disappointed tone. Chloe smiled and rolled her eyes, "Don't take it personally. Take it from me, Lucifer ghosted me quite a few times at weeks time every so often, but he always comes back."
Selene felt hopeful, "I'm not sure if I should be worried about this, I'm not sure if it's something I've done or said, I know I should be worried about Aiden. I left him with the Devil." Chloe was all to familiar with leaving Lucifer unsupervised, in fear of what he would do alone. "I know how you feel, I'm sure everything will be fine and if you don't hear from him soon, just go see him." Selene pondered on that idea, she was racking her brain on possibility's for his behavior.
"Chloe... When Lucifer and I first got together, what did you think of our relationship? be honest with me." Selene asked with some hope in her voice, Chloe hummed in thought on how to tell Selene. "Despite knowing you are not exactly sure what you are yet, and knowing Lucifer's the devil, You both looked like a ordinary human couple. And I know I have done some bad things before you came back into the picture- to Lucifer. I will admit I did feel jealous yet impressed you are his longest relationship I've ever known- on a human level of course." She didn't care if feeling were true to what Chloe had said she was grateful she said something to lift her mood.
"Thanks Chloe, that makes me feel better. I should have been more specific on what I meant. What I mean is do you really think we have a shot at being completely together? I was kind of hopeful at first, but with his twin bother Michael lurking...and messed with all of us, I know these are just normal fears. the thing is, I'm not scared of what could happen, like I'm second guessing myself a lot about him and I." Selene stated as she looked at her phone. "Now things are complicated and I'm stuck in a deep pothole, metaphorically speaking.
Chloe sighed as she kept her eyes peeled from in the car, "Listen, I can tell you when we were solving your friend's murder, Lucifer couldn't stop talking about you, then when you got together, he's been- well, more annoying, but that's besides the point. But you treat him like he's someone that matter's, not like he's a play toy. I believe that's something he need's the most, someone who treats him like he matters, you proved it by protecting him when Lux was taken hostage."
Selene's mind flashed back to her taking care of Lucifer and his bleeding bullet wound, and protecting him from the blast, and confessed her love to him. A smile formed on Selene's lips, "You're right Chloe, I just hope I will hear the same words I told him that night, come from his mouth. It's understandable that it's something not easy for him to say, he hasn't had much love since being sent to hell." Selene said as Chloe knew had to give her more reassurance, "Lucifer is Lucifer, I'm sure he will tell you he love's you in his own little way. If I know Lucifer, he will figure it out, Just don't over think things." Selene nodded as she sat there watching and waiting for the killer to show up.
Lucky for them, the killer did come back to finish the job ruining the team, but more so had a problem with Aiden. It didn't take long for them to catch the killer, Selene was the one who and chased the killer to the ground, to end up being the one do the cuffing and loaded him up and took him into custody. At that very same moment of taking down the killer, Selene had ha a epiphany and felt empowered by her faith in herself and her relationship with Lucifer.
Meanwhile at Linda's place Lucifer and Amenadiel finally got Charlie to sleep, both breathing a sigh of relief when Dan walked in, "Well, Case is closed." Both Lucifer and Amenadiel shushed Dan making him realize the baby was finally sleeping he cringed on how loud he had sounded not realizing it. They all moved away from Charlie to talk together, "Chloe, called Aiden is safe now and Selene is going to help out at he bar for a bit to help catch them up." Dan whispered as Lucifer had now started loathing himself for not being the one to help Chloe.
"I should have been with Chloe, instead I let that Jockey get in my head about Selene." Amenadiel was wondering how Lucifer got into this mess, "Yeah, How did that happen? I've never known you to be the Jealous type." Lucifer lightly scoffed at his brother's comment, "Please, I'm not Jealous." Dan snorted, "Now look who's being delusional." Lucifer let out a heavy sigh and sat down to only cause a toy to squeak, so he moved it, "It's just that she's so... This whole relationship thing is nonsenses. How am I suppose to know what she's thinking?"
Dan nodded as he felt it was relatable feelings, "That's man's eternal question, bro." Lucifer looked defeated, " I can't mess this up. Look, I know you two are useless when it comes to women, but Daniel, you, surely, should have some sort of self-help mumbo-jumbo advice for me?" Dan looked at Lucifer like he was serious. "You want my advice?" Lucifer didn't like the idea either but he knew Dan was once married he should know something to help him out, "Sadly, yes." He said to Daniel. Dan didn't hold anything back, "Stop asking people for advice, I've seen how you and Selene are together without needing any advice, and you both have been doing fine, just talk to her." Dan said lowly.
Lucifer let Dan's words sink in while surrounded by deafening silence, until it was broken by Charlie crying. the 3 of them sighed," I guess it's my turn now?" Daniel said going for Charlie but were stopped by both of the Angelic brother's, "No... we can take it from here Dan. Besides Lucifer need's to spend some time with his nephew to make up for lost time." Amenadiel spoke as Dan was taken aback but internally he was jumping for joy to be free and go have a drink at home. "wait, are you sure?" Lucifer kept his mouth shut, "Yeah, and besides you have helped so much, you really should go spend the rest of your day off work relaxing." Amenadiel sounded sincerely grateful for his help.
Dan let out a big sigh putting Amenadiel's phone down, "Ok, I'm out of here. I'm exhausted, guys." Dan left as the brother's watched him leave. Once he was gone it was time to go Devil face and tend to the crying Charlie. Outside the house, Dan was walking until his phone rang, he answered as it sounded like Lucifer, this annoyed Dan wondering what he might have forgotten, he chalked it up to the fact he did have a long rough day helping his best friend out with Charlie, so he was bound to forget something. He sighed and turned around just as he was almost to his car to find out what he had forgotten.
When Dan walked back to the house he saw them in the window, but what exactly he saw made him freeze and all color drained for him. There before him was Lucifer with Devil face making Charlie happy, and Amenadiel was praising him for his fine work. Dan started to shake and stumble backwards before running away to his car, got out of there as fast as he could shaken up by what he had seen. Michael was hiding in the shadows grinning at what he had done to another one of Lucifer's friends, pleased with the results he was ready to move on to the next part of the plan.
It was close to 10 pm when Lucifer left before Selene was to arrive to help out Amenadiel. Selene spent the hour she was there to make sure Charlie was comfortable, diaper changed, she even went as far as doing tricks she learned to relive gas. Everything she did for Charlie made him feel better, even using a tiny dose of her power's to help Charlie sleep. In the end the issue was obvious when Selene gave Charlie a fruit shaped bumpy binkie, He was quiet and sleeping peacefully. Amendiel was grateful for her having power's like she dose.
Linda came home after enjoying herself a little R and R time, Selene had left just minutes before she could say bye. Selene left with new found feelings she had discovered on her own, Now she had made up her mind to get to Lucifer's place. Traffic wasn't so bad for how late it was, Selene was ready to face the guilt she had with her mind wondering what she did wrong. She parked her Jeep after finishing off her pipe and made her way inside, She took the Elevator up to the penthouse taking a deep breath to calm her nerves.
In the penthouse, Lucifer walked out of his room with wearing a vest over his long sleeve shirt and matching pants over to the bar for a drink, he took a drink and then decided to go see Selene when the elevator dinged an opened up to him seeing Selene was there.
"Selene." Lucifer was surprised to see her just as he was about to go over to her place, "Hi." She smiled steeping out of the elevator and stood before him. "I was just going to call you, but I seem to have misplaced my phone. So I was just coming to see you." Selene was surprised to know that, "Uh, come in, please." he moved out of her way to let her in, "Have a drink... if that is what you want." Selene walked in then turned around.
there was awkwardness lingering in the air when they looked at each other, "I'm sorry, I..." they both said in union, "I'm sorry, for not answering your calls. I was trying to... Never mind. I was listening to advice from someone I shouldn't have. I should have listened to myself, and to you." Selene's felt her heart start to race wondering if he was finally going to say how he feels. "No I- I'm the one who should be sorry, the things I've said, were things a normal person would say, and we're not normal. Literally not normal, but were just us and...amazingly special."
Lucifer looked at her as if she had made sense, "I couldn't agree more." he took a step to her. Selene felt weight lift off of her, "Well. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow." Lucifer was feeling disappointed but kept his smile, "Yes, of course." She walked back to the Elevator to leave, "Goodnight, Selene." She stopped to look back at him, their eyes locked Selene had a flash of lust in her eyes as they stared at each other for a while, before they closed the distance between them into each other's arms passionately making out.
Their love dance lead them over to the piano where Selene nearly fell over on the key's making a distorted sound, Selene's finger's were working on all of Lucifer's buttons as carnal lust took over them. Lucifer scooped Selene up and soon had her against the wall just outside his bedroom, hungry making out as Lucifer shed his shirt and vest off. Selene's eyes had the "I want you' look while they caught their breaths from making out. Lucifer took her hand and lead her into the bedroom, and he let her take the lead kissing him and pinning his hands at the side of his head.
Selene got on top of Lucifer breaking the kiss, she sat up running a hand down his chest, her side parted bangs obscured her face just enough to make her look sexy, as her eyes changed to silver and glowed lightly. The moment it's self was having Lucifer panting, he moved the strands out of the way letting his thumb stroke her cheek, "Amazingly special." he whispered breathless, he pulled her back down to kiss her more. This time he made the move to be on top, taking his time enjoying every inch of her for the rest of the night.
