Author's note: My apologies for not getting this chapter up sooner then I would have liked. I took some time to do some brain storming things for the climax of this season, because season 6 is 2 months away. As long as I can find time to actually get any work done without interruptions I'll be happy. I hope ya'll enjoy this chapter. There will be surprises within the next two chapters some I'm sure my readers have been anticipating for.

The next morning, Lucifer woke up with Selene next to him, sleeping peacefully. He tried to gently and carefully as he could, to slip out of bed and make her breakfast. He was determined to take the leap in the fight for God's throne and power, seeing as his brother Amenadiel is having second thoughts about it. He hoped his news of his new possible promotion will make him worthy to be with her. He is doing everything for Selene, he hated the terrible timing Michael had as well as his father to choose to pop up and turn his life upside down.

He knew he needed to keep a level head and focus on making breakfast, humming the tune from their practice session last night. Lucifer enjoyed having to finally spend some time together with her, he was starting to understand just how precious the little moments are. He even enjoyed accompanying her on the piano to hear her sing, and even sing along to any songs they both knew. It wasn't long until Lucifer herd shifting around in the bedroom, he knew it had to be Selene starting to wake up.

Breakfast was done just in time as usual, Selene was in fact waking up, she looked at her phone at the time. She had a hour to get to work and get the bar ready for the angel gathering, she was still super nervous to meet them. She hoped they weren't anything like Michael so she could get along with them. Even if she had no idea what she would even talk about. Selene let out a sigh, lucky for her she knew what she was going to wear, she hoped she would make a good lasting impression on Lucifer and Amenadiel's siblings.

It made her wonder just how much they possibly would even know, probably what ever Michael told them. She had a sense of dread if Michael said some messed up, untrue things to make it sound like no one should trust her. She shook her head as she was starting to create unnecessary fears as she was always optimistic about things. She just hoped this meeting will go well with open minds, she knew God would be open-minded, but hopefully the rest of the angels would be as well. She is also worried about them possibly knowing she's hooked up with Lucifer. If she knew anything at all, she knew God would be right there to crush any possible chance of a fight.

Selene mentally groaned over this then noticed something was off. Her hair had gotten super long, confusion was spread across her face as she tried to register that her hair was 10 feet long. Lucifer picked up the tray of breakfast he had made and brought it to the bedroom, "Good morn-" Lucifer stopped mid sentence seeing Selene's shoulder length hair had turned into 10 feet of hair.

Selene's hair length wasn't the only thing that changed, catching lucifer off guard, but her eye's were pure silver. Selene was surprisingly calm for waking up suddenly with long hair, "I'm not sure if 'Good morning' would be the right word for this morning... I'm not sure if I want to panic.. or spent a eternity fixing my hair back to how I want it..." She was in awe holding up her now long copper locks.

"Hmm. Perhaps you are right there, Darling. Never mind that, I have made your favorite breakfast while I can take the liberty of picking your brain." Lucifer grinned setting breakfast down beside her. Selene eyed him wondering what was on his mind, "What about?" She grabbed her breakfast to eat. "I've come to a decision I'm going to become god, And I wish to have your opinion." Lucifer stated bluntly, Selene froze about to take a bite when the news was dropped, "You? As God?" Selene tilted her head in slight confusion.

"Lucifer, That's a pretty big job to juggle...I mean you wanna throw away the life you have now just so you can take over your dad's place? Don't get me wrong I know you are more then capable, but...If this is what you really want to pursue, I suppose anyone other then Michael should do it, quite frankly I wouldn't mind either you or Amenadiel as God. This is a serious choice you wanna make then more power too you both."

Lucifer wanted to defend his reasoning, but he couldn't bring himself to do so, "The reason isn't important, Amenadiel isn't sure of himself because he has Charlie to worry about. So, I'm the next choice." Lucifer said and Selene took the time to eat, she wasn't sure what else to say about it, but did so anyway. "What's this going to mean... for us? I mean It's gonna be a big change for the both of us, and it's gonna be a weird change to get use to for all of us, by us I mean everyone were close too. I'm gonna have to explain this to my folks back home that you're the new god."

Lucifer didn't seem to worried about it he was determined to do things differently that nothing will ever change for both their lives. "Let's not get a head of ourselves, I don't know when Dad wishes to announce his replacement. So for now, let's focus on other things then worry about the celestial debate." Selene frowned at him, "Easier said then done, Luce. I'm more worried about what's gonna happen to us if someone other then Michael takes over, like you said Amenadiel is up in the air right now... humanity's future is at stake, as well as our happiness, who's to say you won't be dragged back to hell regardless if a warden is needed or not."

Lucifer saw the hurt look in her eyes, "I don't think I could handle loosing time with you again, I've missed out two months time without you, I don't want to loose you permanently." It was nice to hear they shared the same fears, Lucifer had his confidence over his plans over any scenario he could think of. "I don't intend on letting anything bad happen, but first, why don't you try and see if you can make yourself normal again, if it will make you feel better to look normal again."

Selene had finished her breakfast, "Yeah... I don't even understand what is causing this...hopefully things don't get worse." She took the time to get herself ready for the day, she had to get out of there and off to her bar, but first she needed a haircut to not raise suspicion. Selene went to the bathroom and got to work on doing her hair, or least only enough that she can hide the rest in a bun until she can use her proper tools. She left the bathroom with her hair done up in a bun and a chunk of tied up leftover chopped hair enough to make a wig out of.

She grabbed a bag and knew a place to go to donate hair, and packed up her leftover hair. She smiled and then left the bathroom looking back to normal, not happy that she just had her hair trimmed a week ago before her hair ended up long. Selene gathered up the rest of her things, then looked at the time, "I need to go I will see you later." She smiled and gave him a kiss before leaving.

When she got to the bar, her team was ready to get on with rehearsals and already had everything ready for God. She had made sure she had her hair was covering her ears, she was ready to get started then God had arrived along with some angels, creating a bit of a draft. Selene smiled warmly at them, " Good morning, it's a pleasure to see you again, God." God smiled, "Good morning. Thank you for allowing me to borrow your bar."

Selene smiled, "Oh, you very welcome. Everyone make yourselves at home, drinks are on the house. I do hope you enjoy your time here." She felt so nervous, "My name is Selene I am your host don't hesitate to ask for anything." When her family/ staff watched there bar fill up with Angels as some of them were quite handsome as Lucifer was. The girls practically stared in awe at the handsome angels, while the guys were not quit sure how to feel about this situation they were in.

"Ladies." Selene clapped at her cousins and friends, "Let's get down to work on our solos first, Dawn you can start it off." Selene pointed at her. The girls got down to doing their solo acts while Selene was greeting all the angels and making sure everyone was satisfied before she would join and do her part. Learning all their names was going to be difficult to remember but she sorta kinda knew some of them, she learned about Remiel from Amenadiel during the time Linda was pregnant with Charlie.

Most of the angels did snub Selene, she didn't take it personally, she chalked it up to knowing she was with their brother Lucifer. She never did talk about Lucifer at all, not that she had the time since she was up to sing, while God worked the kitchen. Gabriel was feeling the vibe of the songs they sang as some of the angles were getting their groove on. A hour into the little angel party, everyone was mingling with the angels. For the most part everyone seemed to get along, Selene was quite popular due to the fact she was Celestial like them, and to find out about they knew about her though Michael.

Selene let them know hoe she felt about Michael being mentioned made her wrinkle her nose and roll her eyes. She couldn't believe she was surrounded by angels things were becoming overwhelming, she took the time to excuse herself to her office to breath. She went over to her alcohol stash and poured herself a drink and lit up, she knew she need to calm her anxiety, and do some yoga at the same time. She was willing to try anything to help her keep a strong mind and calm emotions.

It was bad enough she was going though changes she had no clear answers to why things were happening to her like this. She needed some time to meditate and clear her path to answers within herself, but before she could get comfortable to do anything Dawn walked in. Realizing she forgot to lock the door she sighed in relief, "Oh, Dawn its just you... for a odd reason I was expecting Lucifer to barge though my door to rant about his siblings being here. I doubt he knows there here here."

"Oh, no. I wanted to come see how you are. also to talk about how hot Lucifer's and Amenadiel's brothers are!" Dawn giggled like a school girl, Selene grinned at her love struck cousin, "We're so Lucky we have God and his Angels here to be around us. This is a crazy dream come true." Dawn said getting herself a drink. Selene sighed and smiled at her cousin, "I know I wanted this, back when I had no idea they existed, and this opportunity would be possible. Now it's a reality...and the count down to a new chosen god to take Gods place. I'm scared..." Selene took a sip of her drink and sat in her chair.

"On the upside I'm grateful Michael ain't here...I don't think I could tolerate him whispering in my ear to antagonize me about Lucifer. He's caused enough problems I wouldn't mind if I had permission to give Michael a beating he deserves for everything he's done to me. Oh well, I hope Karma's a bitch to him I would love to see the look on his face when he-" Aly had a panic look on her face, "Sorry to- I- Lucifer's here." Selene put her drink down and kept a steady eye on any chance of a angel battle royal breaking out in her bar.

Selene knew she had to play distraction, of course she noticed Lucifer had caught sight of her getting on stage with Justin to sing together, while she started off with can't stop the feeling. Some of the Angels were enjoying the show. Gabriel can be seen dancing and God can be seen dancing in the kitchen as he was cooking, Lucifer and Amenadiel made their way over as the girls were grooving to the song as well.

Selene was having fun as well as her and Justin did the same dance moves they done when they first performed it. It was feeling like a party to the rest of the family when Selene and Justin would perform together, the room was filled with positive energy. When the song ended Selene let Justin do his solo set, when she notice the angels gathered around where God was. Selene made her way to the bar to check on how things were looking if anything needed to be stocked.

It wasn't long between the sibling squabble over Lucifer electing himself to be god, Selene shook her head mentally over how Lucifer is being. Lucifer caught sight of her again when he felt he had enough being around his siblings and father, Amenadiel tailed Lucifer over to Selene when she was going back to her office. Amenadiel wanted to stop his brother, but Selene welcomed anyone close to just come see her in her office, and Lucifer was determined to get some kind of answer.

Selene herd her door open and smiled," If I said I was surprised to see you here, I would be lying. I just figured there could be a case your working on and would much rather solve a murder then be here." Lucifer was pouting, "And when were you going to mention you were the one hosting this little gathering?" He asked as she was debating on what to tell him but still keep things a secret, "You really expect me to turn down God's request?"

"Well, Not exactly." Lucifer said to her, "It wasn't my Idea to host this party for God, this is all your Dad. Of course you know he knows things I don't even know I would even think about. I don't want to disappoint him either besides it's your dad least he's not following you around today." Selene said making a point.

"Not to mention the fact your I gotten answers about myself from your dad. So, of course, I needed to do something for him, and he wanted to borrow the bar so I couldn't turn him down." Selene motioned for the door to get shut, and Amenadiel took the lead to close it. "So I take it you didn't get answers you thought you were gonna get?"

"If your asking if it was a warm welcoming, most of them still do hate me after all theses years, but all the angels believe in Amenadiel becoming God." Selene didn't seem surprised, "They didn't take it well when I rejected the role." Amenadiel said. Selene poured Lucifer and Amnenadiel and drink, "I don't blame you. You're still getting use to being a father yourself, sometimes in life we have to make the hardest choices, for the sake of our own happiness and of course the happiness of others. Like your time with your son. You have strong family values Amenadiel, that's a good foundation to build on."

Selene handed them a drink she made for them, "So, what do you intend to do now till God names his successor?" She asked looking at Lucifer, somehow knowing he has something up his sleeve, he always has a plan for anything. "For starters I'm going to help Dad with his retirement plan, soon as I figure out where to start, and in the mean time I should get back to work, the detective is waiting on me." Lucifer downed his drink like it was nothing, and gave Selene a kiss before leaving.

Amenadiel noticed Selene was hiding something, "So Selene what's the reason you're not looking to disappoint God?" Selene bit her lip once she knew Lucifer was gone, she swallowed her drink. "God... he...he he took me to heaven, to get closure I been needing. I know that you said mom was there and everything, we did talk about you a little. I gotta say heaven...it doesn't honestly feel different... maybe because I am aware and a living being in heaven, but still. It is a beautiful place, your parents did a hell of a job, pun not intended. I don't think I could imagine it any other way... I mean it's like destination wedding worthy place to be..."

Amenadiel chuckled and smiled," Yeah it's pretty great. I didn't think Father would do such a thing..." Selene nodded in agreement. "I didn't think so either.. honestly. It made me really happy and as long as it felt there it didn't really feel like I spent as long as I did talking with my mom. I think I'm starting to understand the time differences being in heaven, compared to here." she frowned slightly fading her smile, "But, somethings I donno..I'm super happy and all, but I can't quite place the feeling I'm having right now."

Amenadiel was surprised his father did such a thing, but seeing something made him concerned, "Would this happen to do with Lucifer wanting to take Dad's place?" Selene wasn't quite sure, "Mmm. I been having this feeling long before now. I donnno I guess maybe my change is tied to it...I mean I got alot of fears...fears I know I can overcome and have done so..so that's not the issue...but something is like trying to grow and take over. I'm happy that Lucifer is taking the step to lead heaven, I donno... having all the powers that he will have...knowing everything kinda doesn't sound like fun."

Selene filled up her glass a little and took another drink, "But at the same time possibly I'm worried about change happening again, part of me wants this, to see Lucifer successful to being God but...should it not happen...there's a 50/50 chance I can loose him forever. I just got him back in my life...unless they have common sense to leave us to live our life in peace. I guess what I really want most, is just to be able to be with him, actually be able to spend time with him, so... after Friday I'm taking a semi permanent vacation from the spotlight, but also working. I need to I have more important things to focus on, mainly is exploring my powers."

Amenadiel was trying to see if he could figure out her problem just from listing to her, he missed the days when they had nice talks together, just the two of them. The topic never mattered, just he was trying to bond with humanity, and she was his first friend. He completely understood most of her feelings, but he just couldn't see just what exactly could be the root of the problem.

"I would like nothing more then to see you and my brother happy. I'm glad you're exploring your new powers, it probably would be wise if you do step down, just incase they do get out of control." He said as Selene got ready to get back to work, not that she wanted to, "I should get back to work, why don't you spend time with you're brother's and sister's while they are here on earth, I gotta get back to rehearsals."

Amenadiel walked out with her as she enjoyed the rest of her day putting on a show for everyone, everyone was having fun even God did a little singing with Selene. Selene even got a chance to sit down and listen to old stories and actually having a nice chat with everyone. Selene took notice to her smitten cousins flirting and laughing at jokes. Even if Lucifer wasn't here, the atmosphere screamed harmony with the Angels actually conversing with her human family. She cautiously asked them about there fun time with Lucifer, and some of them were reluctant to recall the fun things they did.

She couldn't help but laugh as they took turns telling things they did though out history together. She even got to talk about herself and answer any questions they had. When the party was over Selene had made her way back to her office to relax for a hour before she was taking the night off. She checked in on Lucifer to see how things are going, and to let him know she was taking the night off work so she will be at his place later.

She sighed and lit up a joint and put a movie on from her laptop while she had ordered out something for herself to eat to treat herself to something nice and filling. She took the time to try and reach out to Maze, just to see how she was doing and if she would like to take part in the show. Selene didn't want to denie it, the fact she missed Maze alot, felt bad she was wrapped up in Michaels manipulation. Yet, Selene was also worried about her and the things she's capable of, as far as she knew. She had never been on a bounty with Maze, but have seen her fight on several occasions, and seeing how well she can handle herself she had no doubts in Maze's skill set.

When Selene finished her joint, her dinner had arrived, she sat down t enjoy it when she got a call from her dad on video chat. She sat her phone on the stand and answered, "Hey Dad. What's up?" Her dad had a smile on his face, "Nothing much, other then I got a date tonight." Selene nearly choaked from the news, "Yep, Your bother managed to set me up with someone as much as I wouldn't like to admit, I kinda had a crush on her." John said slightly embarrassed.

"Dad, You already had my blessing. Go for it. Mom want's to see you move on and be happy." Selene said after taking a drink. "I know. Still, I'm not ready to put up my wedding ring." Selene smiled at him, "Dad. I have faith in you, and so dose mom. It's going to be fine taking that ring off and putting it away. I have news myself. I'm taking a well semi permanent work vacation, I need to focus on my power's and just figure out what I'm meant to do now that I know just what I am. It's time I took much better care of myself then I have been."

"Well, you need to do what's best for you baby girl, you know that. You have been working yourself ragged for so long over the years I watched you grow up. I know you will figure things out, you always have a way to solving things." Selene nodded, "Yeah. Things are pretty, um, I wanna say intense because our world is going to have a new God taking over... and quite frankly I don't know how I feel about it. I mean, I fear things could go bad and I could loose Lucifer forever...or if by some chance Lucifer becomes God...either way it's going to be a big change." She took a breath to think about it for a moment.

"I'm not sure if I'm ready for change. Change is a good thing... but, this is a major change I don't think I'm ready for, I still can't wrap my head around these latest events that been happening. So much knowledge and things going on I really need the time to recharge and focus on my powers to keep them in control. Plus, I'm going though physical changes too, and I don't know how long till I'm done changing. I can't be seen in public whenever I get my wings. I need to retire before they just pop out and surprise people mid performance or not."

"I hear you on that. I'm glad you're being smart about keeping things under wrap. I'm gonna let you go, I'll let everyone know you said hi. We do look forward to the next time you visit, hopefully soon too, especially when your Mamaw's birthday coming up." That thought crossed her mind and halted everything she was thinking about, "Right. Right, I'll talk to Lucifer, I know he won't refuse another trip, since he would like to see Tux. I know if I mention Mamaw's birthday is around the corner, he will spend his time and money making her birthday memorable."

"Haha, Let Lucifer know, Tux is doing well, and can't wait to see him either. Shadow's been doing alot better too since you been around he's actually not being troublesome." Selene smiled, "Oh, I know Lucifer misses Tux all the same. I can't wait till I make this biggest party ever my swan song. I wish it was the last day already." her dad let ut a laugh, "You sound like your mamaw, hoping it be the last time I was a rodeo rider to settle down and take care of you." Selene saw she had a message back from Lucifer and sighed, "tsk, Lucifer really is clueless to what his father wants." She ended up typing back to help him realize just what he needed to do.

"Lucifer's trying to make God's retirement go smoothly, but he's hit a patch. So, I just reminded him something that could possibly help him out to make his father happy. I just hope he can follow though with the idea. Honestly he should at least consult his father, it's his retirement plan." Selene said as she started eating some more as she was hungrier then she normally was.

"But this is Lucifer were talking about." John chuckled in response even though he knows, "Sometimes he makes me wonder..." Selene grinned, "Don't feel bad. I often forget Lucifer's not human, and not wondering if he was dropped on his head as a baby. Like most men make me wonder the way they behave." She joked as her dad shook his head. "Now that's mean...but I do get what you mean now just to pray your brother gets a girl."

"Dad, there ain't enough prayers in the world to help that boy find love. Besides, I would hold your prayers untill we find out who's the new god. I'm gonna let you go Dad I got things to do before I go see Lucifer tonight." John smiled at his little girl regardless how old she is, "Be safe baby girl, and have a good night." She nodded and hung up then sighed.

Selene finished up her dinner before getting into something else until she leaves. The least she wanted to do was help open up for the night and spend a little time opening. Aly and Travis were getting the kitchen cleaned and ready for cooking, Elise and Rose were working on the bathrooms the other's were working on checking the lights while Selene cleaned the floors. Everyone had something to do before opening up and everyone worked as a well oiled machine, cleaning and sterilizing setting up the drink ingredients.

They always worked hard and always passed inspection with flying colors, even when they never knew they were due for inspection. Most the the time they find out the hard way and be so confused on when on their shift were they inspected. 2 hours into shift, Selene got a message from Lucifer, that him and Amenadiel had gotten there parents back together only for them to leave them. Selene frowned knowing she didn't get to meet his mother, nor say goodbye to God.

Selene gathered her things and let the girls handle the rest, "You guys are in charge. I'm going to see Lucifer." Selene didn't waste time to disappear and drive off to Lucifer's. She was kicking herself not knowing that she had missed her chance to meet the goddess. She would have liked to thank God again for everything he had done. God had done so much in a meaningful way she really wished she could've done more or something special for him in return.

When she arrived at Lux she wasted no time taking the elevator up to the penthouse. When the doors opened up, Selene looked for Lucifer and saw him on the balcony having a drink. With caution, she approached him, and put her hand on his. "Hey." She smiled softly at him. He looked at her like he was surprised, but also had disappointment. "How are you doing now that your parents left together?"

"Nothing lasts forever, I suppose. But least mom and dad are happy again, that's what matters." He huffed with a tint of disappointment of being a family again. Selene looked at him, "Well...I actually made up my mind about my future. I'm done working my life away for a good living. I'm handing over management for now to Dawn." Lucifer looked at her confused on why she was going this route.

"I need to figure out what my role is in this life, with theses powers of mine. I need to find a new path for myself. I also need to have time to explore my powers. I can't figure out my role with my powers if I'm working all the time." She took a deep breath, "And you're gonna be God soon and be able to help everyone. I just need to embrace all I am, what my job is a Celestial... although I'm not entirely sure yet exactly...God gave me a hint as to being some celestial peace keeper, I'm sure there's more then meets the eye."

Selene took a breath thinking about it, "Perhaps if I help you become God, maybe I might just find out where I'm going to fit in. After today's experience... I feel I need to do this. For myself... and for us." Lucifer's eyes bored into hers looking for some kind of tell but he couldn't find that tell. "Are you sure about this?" he asked Selene nodded, "I've been working half my life away, to get where I am in my life now. I think I deserve a semi permanent work vacation, recharge myself, have more time for us. Time for family. Which by the way there being a pain wanting me to come home, especially when Mamaw's birthday is around the corner, and Tux is missing you."

Lucifer smiled hearing Tux's name, "I know we can support each other as a team. I want us to reach our goal together. What'd you say?" she said with their eyes locked, he could see she was serious on this choice. He didn't know how to answer, "Well, I would simply hate to see my favorite barista, whom I might add, is a lovely sight to see, very entertaining, and makes the place lively and fun, to abandon working to be with someone like me."

Selene giggled slightly, "You're worth taking retirement to help." They leaned into each other for a kiss when, a voice and flap of wings interrupted their make out session, "Lucifer!" Selene recognized the voice, "Remiel?" Selene questioned hearing the desperation in her voice. "Where is father?" She sounded frantic about something, that got both Selene's and Lucifer's attention. "Excuse us, we were having a moment, Remi." Remiel didn't care but something in her eyes said something was terribly wrong, "Where is he? Did he name is successor?"

"Gone. He's fully retired and is eternally unavailable? He said it was up to us to figure out who will be God." Lucifer asked his sister not understanding why she would just drop in. "Can we talk? Without her?" Remiel said with her eyes darting back and forth. Lucifer stiffened up and looked at his sister holding Selene close to him, "No. What ever you need to say can be said infront of my... partner."

Remiel looked displeased," So be it. Upon returning to the Silver City, I discovered something alarming. Michael's been gathering support from the others." Selene looked confused, "Support? For what?" realization hit Lucifer as he realized his brother's endgame, "Michael want's to be god. The sneaky bastard. This was his plan all along, gaslighting Dad into retirement." Lucifer said clearly not happy about it.

"If it's up to our brother's and sisters, it looks like he has a good shot, which is why... and I cannot believe I'm saying this..." Remiel straightened up and got down on one knee to bow to Lucifer. "I'm backing you, Lucifer. I may not like you, but I hate Michael more. He would never suspect I would take your side. I'll find out what he's up to and report back to you." Selene was concerned with Michaels plot.

"What ever it is it isn't good." Selene said looking at Lucifer, "Knowing Michael, he won't waste time either...Looks like I'm going to have to get busy myself. For now, Remiel, return home and find out all you can." Remiel stood up, unfurled her wings and left back for home. Lucifer turned to Selene, "Looks like were going to be busy, darling." Selene smiled at him, "We will be ready for whatever Michael has planned, I think I know how to help. Michael's not going to win." her devious grin made Lucifer feel uncomfortable and confused.

"Care to fill me in?" he asked her," You do the one thing no angel can do. Fulfill desires. I know a pair of angel's who were having a good time chatting it up with Dawn and Aly. Find out if their interested and I'm pretty sure you can gain a vote out of it. Lucifer hummed quite interested and surprised his brother's had made a impression on Dawn and Aly. He knew she was right, and that alone gave him a idea. "Brilliant as always, love." They went back to having their moment where they left off, hoping for no more interruptions.
