And Again I wanna thank all my loyal readers out there, I guess I'm doing something right if I'm not getting as much feedback as I like (joking bout the feedback) I do love ya'll in return. I donno maybe it's just me, cause I'm just not use to even writing anything that's actually successful in the fav's department, but shout out to my commenter, thank you I'm happy to to know you enjoy it.

Today just happens to be my birthday, so I figure this would be the perfect time to post this chapter. let's ride the emotion coaster.

The next night, Lucifer had called on Josphiel to bring him to Selene's bar instead of Lux to make a perfect deal while the girls were putting on a show. Selene was waiting on Lucifer while the girls were putting on a show, she sat down drinks for them with a smile. Josphiel couldn't help but enjoy the show while his brother talked, "It's a hell of a choice you and the other angels have to make, brother. The Silver City must be abuzz. Lucifer or Michael? I mean, for you it's obvious, though, isn't it, given the brotherhood we forged together carousing on earth for millennia?" Lucifer laughs alittle and took notice to Josphiel's distraction to seeing most of the girls leave the stage to either swap places with the guys or to change for the next performance.

"So, what's it gonna be, Josphiel? I'm assuming team Lucifer?" Lucifer was hoping he could get his vote for everything they been though. "Yeah, uh, about that. For sure, you and I, we've always been tight. And I'll never forget the time you de-panted Napoleon." Lucifer was cracking up from the memory his brother brought up. "Little bitch-ass started spazzing." Lucifer took a sip of his drink, "But you as God, bro, yeah... I'm not sure."

Lucifer nodded in thought, "Well, it's true I haven't always behaved in the most godly of ways, but let's be fair, I've also been a victim of Michael's smear campaign for the last millennia." Josphiel gave lucifer a look, " You saying you didn't, like, lead a full on rebellion against dad?" he asked Lucifer. Lucifer hesitated answering for moment to calm down from laughing, "I'm saying I'm not that guy anymore. Being here on Earth has changed me. It's given me the skill's and experience to do the job. Can I count on your support, bro?"

Josphiel gave Lucifer his not going for it face, "Dude, what's the catch?" Lucifer kept a poker face, "There's no catch." Josphiel rolled his eyes, "Come on, Luce it's you. there's always a catch." Lucifer nodded as he couldn't denie that aspect. "The catch is if I'm not god, then Michael will be. What could be worse then that?" Selene could tell from a distance that things didn't look like it was going in Lucifer's favor.

She had high hopes he could be convincing, but not too high because of given the past, knowing most of his siblings still hate him. She wished she could do something to help, but she had to focus on working the bar. It wasn't long until she noticed Lucifer was kinda pissed, in short she figured things didn't go well. She slipped away to go see Lucifer, She found him outside, and walked over to him, "Hey."

"Good evening." He let out a heavy sigh, "I hope you haven't given up being at the bar yet. At this rate, I don't think I can convince my siblings I'm the right fit." Selene frowned some, "No, not yet. Either way, I need to step down. I know that winning your siblings over isn't going to be a easy feat, but if I know anything, it's that you can persuade them. Most of them haven't seen you in so long, yet you've done more for humanity then anyone else has. If you need us to help you we can. thing is, it's also all on you and how you present yourself. Don't give up I believe in you."

Lucifer thought about it for a few letting her words sync in, "Your right. What was I thinking. And this is why you're the future Mrs.G." Selene chuckled and grinned at him. She oddly liked the sound of it, she looked up to the sky and noticed the moon was almost gone into it's new moon phase. Selene had plans to prepare for anything she had the morning off to spend time exploring her powers and blow off steam. "Well, who knows what the future holds, Luce, what ever it takes were in it together." She smiled and headed back in to let him have some space.

The day of her party Selene was spending time with her horses as well as taking the time to explore what all she can do. It felt weird to knw there was currently no God to pray to, to her is a lucky thing, cause she needed to break the habit incase Lucifer dose become God. She certainly didn't want Michael hearing her prayers if he became God. While she was working, Selene suddenly shrunk from being 5 foot to 5 inches tall.

Lucky for her her clothes shrunk with her, she had yet to freak out, but it was a matter of time. She realized after a few she had shrunk when everything got so big around her. It as also the worst time for her ability's to start showing themselves. Luckily, the shrunk form didn't last long, Selene had returned to full size, part of her was regretting exploring things she could do, but she needed to master them all.

Selene spent the entire morning working hard on her new tricks to get some control over them, even if it meant tiring her out more. She was determined to learn, if she wished to help Lucifer, and if a battle breaks out she could stop it, like a peace keeper. She needed to keep her mind focus and overcome the feeling within herself trying to take over. Now that her celestial side has fully awakened with in her things were becoming easier to manipulate her powers.

By noon Selene got a message, about some angels ambushed and attacked them. Selene wasn't happy about the news. She got the horses and hurried back home so she could change and find out everything that happened. Selene left the house wearing a satin white button up with a black velvet tank top strap midi dress, and black studded chained ankle boots.

While getting ready Selene called in to get more details on what exactly happen, "Give me the low down what happened and is everyone alright?" Selene's face twisted in worry and anger, "What?...how bad?" her mind was screaming how much this night was going to lead to a disaster. "Damn it. Alright I'll be there soon." She didn't like the fact two of her friends and family are hurt from the car crash on their way out of LA to head up to san Francisco, now on their way to the hospital.

The only relief in her mind is that none of them are dead...yet, but now her blood was starting to boil. When she arrived she wasted no time to get to the emergency room side. Justin was waiting for her while Travis Josh and Jared, were still in treatment. "Thank god your here, Sel. Luckily no one else was on the road where we were at they just dropped out of the sky in front of us." Justin said clearly shaken, "But there looking for something, they threatened us for information." Selene cut him off, "Angels attacked you guys?." Selene wanted so badly to let Lucifer know, but for now she needed to know what happened.

"Yeah... Travis tried his best defending us luckily though the damage done to the Tahoe isn't bad, it's drivable... dented...but still drivable. Travis still ran them over despite them blocking the road wings out. Luckily Dawn showed up with Rosie and Aly."

Selene's emotions were churning like a hurricane inside her soul.

"Damn it. All this...just to be God..."She gritted her teeth, seething with anger, her hands started sparking along with the rest of her body. "I'll make Lucifer aware of this incident. And for Michael to allow this is unforgiveable." Selene had realized what was happening and needed to calm down. She took a deep breath and turned, "Just keep me updated, ok, let me know when he's out." She needed to leave and blow off more steam.

She hoped Lucifer wasn't home, she wanted to drop by at his penthouse for a drink, but decided to just drive off somewhere remote. No one is around to just let loose her emotions though her power darkness swirled around her like a storm inside her soul, soon it was starting to engulf her Jeep. As if Michael had already done enough damage in her life, for him to start doing this.

(Selene's POV thoughts)

Get a hold of yourself! Ugh... Damn Michael this is probably his plan all along, but... what is he possibly after? Something much more is going on. I don't know what he hopes to gain out of hurting my family, but he's gained my attention and seems he has a death wish.

I don't want to get involved, but if this is about what I'm starting to think it is...this is going to go very wrong. I will do whatever it takes to help Lucifer stop what ever he's planning.

(Selene's POV thoughts end)

When Selene felt good enough to drove again and her powers settled down she went back to the hospital, to stay and wait for updates.

Meanwhile Lucifer was bouncing between working and working on wining over his siblings, so far was going wrong. He had invited Zadkiel to his penthouse to have a chat and hopefully convince him to be on his side. "I was wrong." Lucifer spoke when he poured drinks at the bar, he turned around to face Zadkiel sitting on his couch. "I know, it's a miracle. But as much as it pains me to say, my rebellion was ill-conceived. Why? because I did it for all the wrong reasons." He said bringing drinks over to sit with his brother and hands him one.

"I rebelled out of anger at father, out of desire to prove that I was better then him, but I've changed." Zadkiel sat up to listen to his brother, as the angel of righteousness he knew his brother well enough to know of his games. "I've spent my time on earth growing, getting over my... my Daddy issues. I know how monumental his job actually was and is now." Lucifer said with a serious sincere tone, "Those are big shoes to fill, but I promise you, Zadkiel, I will give it my absolute best."

Zadkiel let his words settle in his mind, he was sounding convincing. He just wasn't sure what the catch was. "Lucifer. Wow! That was well spoken. Emotionally evolved. Impressive." Lucifer chuckled as they clinked glasses, "Impressive enough to possibly win over the Angel of Righteousness?" Zadkiel sat back and responded bluntly. "I mean no. It's always gonna be a no." Lucifer tried to not show his disappointment, "I suppose you wouldn't be interested in getting to know a particular lovely lady I've herd you been chatting up at Dad's little gathering?"

"I'm just here for the whiskey. Josphiel said you bribed with top shelf. And to watch you grovel." Lucifer had a feeling he was not gonna win so easily, he mustered up the courage to speak the truth. "Of course it was never going to work, was it? All that nonsense about making peace with father and growing as an angel." Lucifer chuckled and took a gulp of his whiskey.

"Mm. You know, the crazy thing is, it's all true, but...it's not the whole truth." he sighed collecting this thoughts together. This got Zadkiel's attention with curiosity. "You really wanna know why I'm doing all of this? Why I'm trying to become God? I'm doing it for love." He laughed like it was a joke. "And what's worse. I'm doing it for the love of a Earth-born celestial. I am trying to be God so I can be worthy of her love. There you have it. Enjoy the top shelf."

Lucifer huffed and felt defeated as a failure to even get Zadkiel's vote. "This woman... Would she happen to be the one Father made from Asariel's soul who hosted the party?" Zadkiel asked and Lucifer growled in frustration, "Her name is Selene Haywood, she's much more then that. A warm, caring, person, who sometimes reminds me of Mum, back before Dad's neglection. Her family, despite knowing the truth, still welcomes me with open arms. And I like how it made me feel to find a family I feel I can be happy and apart of. A feeling I thought I lost since I was kicked out." Lucifer had poured his heart out to Zadkiel.

"So, Yes. I am doing this for the wrong reasons again, but I don't care. All I care about is her. No matter what the cost is, I have to make this happen, and I will. With or without your vote." He had let his frustration slip though his tone, but he was very direct and serious about his words. Zadkiel took the time to let Lucifer's moving speech sink in, and think about his choice carefully. He watched Lucifer leave by elevator.

That night, Selene was just about to get something to eat, when she saw the medical team rushing towards her direction to head up for surgery. Selene didn't think anything of it and moved out of the way as fast as she could, when they moved past her, her eyes wide in horror when she saw who the bloody mess was, and a painful twinge in her heart. It was like a slow motion when the realization hit her.

(Selene's POV thoughts)

Oh. My. God. That was Dan!

No. No. No. No! He's in seriously bad shape...Lucifer's going to loose it... oh god... Trixie... if he doesn't somehow pull though this... that poor kid.

God. I feel nauseous

(Selene's POV thoughts end)

Selene had remembered the feeling she had when she found out her mom was dead after awakening from being in a coma. Her heart went out to Trixie, Travis still had yet to wake up, this was starting to worry Selene a lot. She went to the waiting room area where she found everyone waiting. "Hey. I just saw them bring in Dan..." she said softly trying to control her emotions.

"Selene? Why are you here?" Chloe asked, "Travis, Jared, Justin, and Josh were in a accident earlier today... Travis hasn't woken up..." she swallowed the lump forming in her throat, "Everyone else is alright. a little beaten up otherwise sore." Lucifer and Amenadiel saw the look in Selene's eyes it wasn't the whole truth but the look said everything that didn't need to be spoken. Maze had arrived and been filled in about the case they were working on.

Selene stood next to Lucifer waiting to hear answers about Dan. When the doctor came out Chloe hurried on up to get information while everyone waited. Chloe broke down in devastation that Dan was gone. A sound many has herd far to much from victims families. Selene did her best to keep herself together, as much as she was shaking from the memory.

Suddenly, Trixie walked in, one by one Selene saw even Maze break down in tears over Dan, and Trixie's presence made it worse.

Waves of nausea hit Selene like a ton of bricks, She couldn't stay she had to leave the room, the pain alone was too much to bear from the memory. She left the hospital and headed home, she needed space to breath, this day had became to much for her. She was happy to seen Maze not that they really gotten to talk. Once She got home she got her self settled as fast as she could, lucky for her she had pre rolled joints, and decided to take a hit wanting to keep her stomach calm so she could be able to eat.

It wasn't like she wanted to eat, after seeing Daniel's condition, she broke down when she had to pour herself a drink, she didn't have the strength to hold a bottle. Darkness covered the walls of her home, her tormented emotions let her control slip, as well a she literally shrunk herself. A hour later Lucifer had arrived at Selene's house, knowing she was home, but couldn't seem to find her anywhere. "Selene?" He called out, but all he herd was dead silence. He didn't like the feeling he was getting when he noticed her walls were covered in Darkness.

This alone raised alarms in Lucifer's head, he had to start searching for her. Before Lucifer knew it Selene had came back to normal size from the kitchen. "Hi, Lucifer." she said sounding depressed, she still had a joint lit in hand. "I didn't mean to leave so abrupt at the hospital.. I... I just couldn't stay. It was all to much... painful memories." She sniffled and took a drag. "I wish this is all just some dream turned nightmare I wish to wake up from. Unfortunately, I can't. This is harsh reality is all real." her tone was flat and had emotionless expression.

"My family has been hurt, Travis is comatose...I wish I hadn't let the boys go off on a little road trip out of LA for a while just for guy time. And for what? To end up targeted by angels that attacked them for information about a key." Lucifer was still grieving he was also filled with the sense of dread, as a failure to have a chance of winning his siblings over. He felt the fire burning within him, the thirst for revenge, and the determination to not give up becoming God.

"Lucifer. Tell me this is all for something bigger, that you're gonna win and become God." Selene looked at him hopeful knowing if he has a chance. Lucifer let out a heavy sigh," I'm afraid... Michael has declared war...but... he's also doing something much worse. He- He's trying to assemble the flaming sword... he has his hands on Azrael's blade..." He said calmly, "There's a key that binds the sword together, this was Michael's endgame all along, I don't have the greatest track record for raging wars. Adding insult to injury, I didn't manage to win a single vote."

Selene looked at him blankly as he talked, " Zadkiel said no, surprise, surprise. Not even telling him the real truth of why I want to have the job. It went over like a lead balloon." Selene tilted her head slightly and walked up to him, "So what is the real truth, I mean other then making sure Michael doesn't get it, what other reason made you make this choice? Why do you even want to be God so badly?"

Lucifer hesitates not knowing how he was going to answer her question, he let out a long sigh, "Because if I'm God, then I'll finally be worthy of you." he said feeling slight relief getting it off his chest, but guilt, and embarrassment. Selene was trying to process what Lucifer said, was a idea she hadn't even thought of or even realized it was her issue. Her mind replayed the moments the feelings were there and had a crazy idea that was what Michael was getting at, her fear of being worthy.

"You're telling me... this whole reason for becoming God is because you don't feel worthy of me?" She said in disbelief Lucifer would think that, she broke down with angry tears. "Honestly. If anyone should be feeling unworthy, it's me! And you know what... I've been masking it too long...because I was determined to overcome and accept the things that have happened since I met you. As of late, things have been getting real hard to not feel that way, and your Dad's presence was the cake topper."

Lucifer looked at Selene hearing her voice shaking and cracking as she was trying to not break down again, "I- I do appreciate the time I got to spend with your Dad. I do, but the things he's done for me, really took my breath away, and I can't help but felt so unworthy and deserving to be in his presence, but I stuck it out. He didn't have to do the things he did for me in return, but he did. It did brighten up my life..."

Lucifer wanted to know what was her happy mood was all about, "What exactly did Dad do to make you so happy?" hearing her speak of her unworthiness pained him for forgetting her feelings with all that she had been though. Selene was fighting back tears, "He took me to heaven... To see mom...I got closure." She fought back the sob, "It's such a beautiful place... Jack was there... getting to talk to mom again... it was the best unexpected gesture I- I could never hold up and do something for him, but a show, for him and the other angels."

She sniffled and tried to reel herself back in and call back the darkness covering her walls, "Thanks to Michael's needing my fears...I never considered my biggest issue is how I'm unworthy of all of this, you, my powers, knowing everything...I.. I don't even know anymore." She fell to her knees, Lucifer took a step and froze in shock, exhaling a shuddering breath. Selene's eyes had returned to her normal blue eyes, and her ears had returned normal as well.

Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, pair of white fairy wings were upon Selene's back, but they didn't look anything like Asariel's wings. They were her own, and were so beautiful Lucifer was left speechless. He wished he could say something to help her, and to let her know she had gained her wings. When Selene looked up all he could see was her blue eyes full of pain and the beautiful white wings that were behind her.

He felt guilty he had put her though so much, he was kicking himself for not even trying to protect her from his family's harassment. He knew he needed to do something, but right now she was important to tend to instead of finding the missing piece to the sword. He knew he was lacking in making her his first priority since his return from hell.

"They're beautiful... just like you." He said finally coming out of his shock, Selene looked at him puzzled, "Wha-?" She looked and noticed she had wings. Her free hand covered her mouth in shock that she had finally gained her wings, and they were exactly as she had imagine them, but better in person. Fresh tears fell from her eyes she couldn't believe that she had her own wings finally. The storm within her soul wasn't weakening, but it was a new kind of storm.

The weed joint in her hand was slowly burning away, She momentarily forgotten about amidst breaking down. She felt her nose start to drain as she sniffed like she was trying to breath though her nose to calm down. Lucifer noticed the bottle she was going to pour and did it for her. She tried to stand up on her own and snuffed out the joint, and make her way to the sink to pull out a microfiber wash cloth, got it wet with cold water, and cleaned up her face with it.

"I'm sorry...I-" She squeaked, Lucifer stopped her from saying more." There's no need. I should have done more, I've been too lax since Dad's presence chased Michael away, when I should have been preparing to stop his plans alot sooner. More importantly time is running out on leads to where we can find the piece of the flaming sword, since a once was dead human has come back from the dead with celestial super strength. He's not making it easy to track him down."

Selene took a sip of her drink Lucifer had poured for her, still shaking, "I'll help. I got nothing better to do, Were going to have to post pone the big party until everyone is well again and all this celestial mess is done and over with." Lucifer looked at her his eyes full of concern for her mentality, "Are you alright now darling?" She nodded slowly, "I will be... I think... I feel weird..." her wings gently moved like a butterfly moves its wings. "I might need some time, to get control in time for Dan's funeral...I think I want to speak at the funeral. I'm not good with speeches, but, I know how to tell stories."

She took another sip her head started to pound from all the crying, "It's the least I can do, I've known Daniel since before I moved out here. He was the only cop I trusted at the time, I just hope he's happy if he's up there..." She froze for a second and a soft gasp escaped her lips, "I can come and go to heaven whenever I please now...I have my wings. " A small laugh escaped her lips as she tried to cheer herself up and feel positive again. "Well, Some flight lessons maybe in order."

Selene was looking her wings over from the angle she can view them, she was going to need to figure out how they work. "Why don't you get some rest, Selene, I'll even stay with you." Lucifer suggested as she did look puffy around the eyes. "I can't. I don't want to sleep. I can't waste time sleeping when I need to work on this before this war Michael has declared. You alone need lead to find the last piece of the sword before Michael get's his hands on it."

"Then why don't I get you back to my place, and you can use the hot tub to relax. Don't worry I didn't drive here anyway." Selene shook her head, "I rather stay here to make sure my horses are fed. I could use a distraction, after all that's happen, I appreciate the offer." Lucifer took her by the hand, "Then let's get to work." he said.

A few days went by and Selene had managed to work endlessly on controlling her shrinking and wings to the point she can fly with them. It was also a day she got dressed for along with her family and friends to attend Dan's funeral. It was truly a sad day. A last day to say good bye. Everyone took their seat, Selene had on a elegant 1950's a line style off the shoulder lace midi dress, lace fingerless gloves, black cowgirl boots with a slouch harness, and a little black vail hat looking like a southern belle going to a funeral .

She sat there looking numb, collecting her thoughts, preparing herself for her turn to speak. She couldn't smile, but she had plenty of time to control herself for this day. After Amenadiel spoke about Dan, Selene stood up to take the stand. "Dan Espinoza died doing the job he loved, just as any other hard working officer out there risking their life, dying in the line of duty saving and protecting the innocent. Though he has left a hole in our hearts, his memory will live on in those who are most important to him. I wish there were more cops like Dan, but none of them can truly hold a candle to all the work Dan had did. No one ever will."

"I first met Dan when I arrived on my own in LA my pickup over heated, he was nice enough to help. My truck at the time was slowly falling apart, it was fine as a temporary vehicle for myself to lug around Jack for the Rodeo. The second time I met Dan, was at the beach a year after my bar was established, although not old enough to run it. He saw me trying to help a stranded stingray, he didn't realize what I was also doing was saving the babies as they were being born. He said to me that day what I was doing was a dangerous yet crazy brave thing, because I flipped the big mama stingray back over after making sure all the babies were out and he assisted me carrying her to the water. I thanked Dan again then he recognized me after I mentioned the pick up."

Selene paused to take a breath as she stood proudly, "That day Dan had earned my respect enough to invite him to my bar. I even assisted him on a undercover case. It didn't bother me. Normally under circumstances civilians shouldn't get involved. I was indirectly involved, especially when I let him know if I recognize anyone he was looking for. Once or twice Dan has asked me about using the bar to make a undercover drug deal."

Everyone listened to Selene when she spoke, "I don't regret it. I'm actually grateful he gave me a heads up incase things go wrong, otherwise he would been chewed out by me. I may not have been really close to Dan, but I still liked him enough to still call him a friend, regardless of the situation, he was made for the job. He may not be here alive now, but he's still here with us." Lucifer wasn't surprised Selene would act like a preacher and spout the whole 'their still with us in spirit' like a psychic would believe the spirits are around them. He watched her step away and took her seat.

When it was time to lower Dan's casket, Ella and Lucifer stood up to sing, as the flag was folded and handed to Trixie, who started to sob. Chloe was trying to stay strong behind her sunglasses, but even Selene could feel everyone's emotions. After the funeral everyone hung around, walked together and had a chat an helped clean up, Selene noticed a handsome looking guy was flirting with Ella. Ella took notice and Selene winked at her and threw her a grin as a signal to go for it.

Selene had already payed respects to Chloe and Trixie, as she was looking at her phone, she got a text that Travis coded but had him stabilized and resting. She wasn't liking his condition, he had just woken two days ago. The injuries he suffered did some hefty damage that he was put in a neck brace, and a concussion from the head injury, luckily no memories were lost. Selene sighed hoping he will get better. She ended up leaving either way due to all of the attendees emotions were just to much bare, so she went home to be able to change, and get back to training to be able feel better and occupy her mind.

Once home and in private after getting changed she let he wings out to admire them in her tall mirror. She still couldn't believe her feeling of realizing her unworthiness brought them out. It had only been a few days, as much as she was starting to get use to them and control them, she actually enjoyed flying, even though it made her nervous and slightly scared. Once she did get the hang of things she was able to shrink down and fly around. She couldn't wait to see the look on Michael and the other angels face, when they see her wings and find out just what she can now do with new tricks up her sleeve.

She couldn't wait till it was time to cross path's with Michael, she hoped it would be soon, She needed this mess to be over with. She began to wonder if she could give them a speech for Lucifer she could win more on his side. That was a tactic incase stalling was needed. She also should consider taking a nap due to not sleeping over practicing, and learning control. She also needed to keep up with her own care, and the care around her house as she was lacking in some house work.

By the end of the day Selene couldn't help remembering the condition he was in, she knew it had to been already too late for him, even before the doctors knew. This time was a rough time for everyone. It was going to feel like a rainy day for everyone for sometime, till things feel somewhat normal again, but nothing right now is truly normal with a celestial war on the rise.
