"Oka-chan!" A young jubilant voice shouted as he bursted through the door. Sakura's whole body froze.
It had been a year since she entered this weird timeline. Tsunade had stepped-down from Hokage right after the war and appointed Kakashi as the next Hokage. All was well and things were starting to return to a timid normal.
Kakashi had sent her and Sasuke on a mission to investigate an anomaly reported to be the cause of people disappearing.
They reached their destination to find a tear in space, just like the ones Kaguya had used. Sasuke immediately got to work to try and close it but was interrupted by a squad of Otsutsuki.
They ambushed her and Sasuke pushing Sakura into the void.
When the kunoichi woke she found herself lying on the training ground that team 7 always used. With no one around she quickly tried to figure out where she was, even when she was.
Sakura was surprised to learn that the Uchiha massacre never happened, and that the next in line to be the Hokage was one of that very clan.
It took her well over a year to become aquatinted with this strange world and learn that there was no way back.
She was on the verge of a break down when the ever sunny Naruto found her.
He introduced her (again) to Iruka and he quickly became a person to lean on. From there it progressed and she learned to love the man.
They have been married for a half a year, and she vowed that she would give the boy the love he deserved.
However, Sakura never expected for Naruto to come barreling through the door calling her 'mom'.
"Um! I mean Sakura-sensei! Yeah that's exactly what I mean. Not oka-chan, cause that's just stupid. Not that your stupid, or anything-." His nervous rant was cut off when Sakura kneeled in front of him.
"It's ok, Naruto. I'm not mad or upset. Just surprised that's all." Cerulean eyes watered as they stared up at the woman.
"Naruto?" Iruka's voice came calling from the living room where he had been sitting. As the man came around the corner, he saw both his beloved wife and adopted son on the floor.
"What's going on?" Sakura's face lit up, swiftly she picked herself and Naruto up, facing the man.
"Hah! I told you I would be the first." Sakura gloated glowing with smug pride. "Oi! Naruto! I've known you longer, yet you called her 'mom' first."
Sakura snickers as her cute husband pouts hugging them putting a squished blonde boy in the middle.
Said boy soon begins to giggle drawing both their attention "tou-chan, only acts cute for ka-chan."
Iruka colors pink across his tan nose causing Sakura to bury her face in Naruto's hair, trying but failing to hide the laughter escaping her.
The teacher becomes brighter as he gets more embarrassed. "Naruto! You better start running!" The boy jumps out of Sakura's warm embrace, laughing while running around the living room.
"Hey! No horse-playing in the house! Take it outside!" Sakura shakes her head, smiling fondly.
Much later in the evening, the family sat on the couch watching T.V, Naruto passed out in Sakura's lap.
Iruka nuzzled his cheek into the top of her head, tiredly gazing down at his two most precious people.
Pressing a loving kiss to her forehead, he murmured "love you, my family."
