Four years it had been, four years since she came here.
Sakura could not tell anyone what had happened but she was in the past. To a time where Kakashi is small and cute. How does she know?
Cause her she is playing at the playground with a very smart three-year-old Kakashi. The boy had tried to balance on top of the monkey bars but lost it and tumbled over.
Sakura's body acted before her mind. She moved, covering a large distance just to catch the mini-Kakashi.
When the dust cleared Sakura expected a wailing child, not a sparkling-eyed boy shouting 'again!'
So she complied. They moved over to the shaded area, where he would climb to the top and jump. Sakura always caught him no matter how many times he fell purposely trying to throw her off.
Sakura caught the squealing kid, chuckling as he hung upside down in her arms. Then as if a switch had been flipped, Kakashi squirmed out of her arms. Running towards an older-longer haired man who looked just like the boy.
"Hey, squirt! Have fun?" The man's voice jovial and deep. "Yeah, tou-san! I met a new friend!" Kakashi's youthful gray eyes turned towards Sakura, who was watching the scene with a gentle smile.
Sakumo caught himself admiring the confidence and soothing power she emitted. Kakashi excitedly waved her over from his father's arms.
The woman chuckled making her way (A/N: you have no idea how much I want to put 'downtown'.) over to the silver-haired duo.
"Thanks for playing with Kakashi. I'm his father, Hatake Sakumo." The man bowed his head in thanks.
"I'm Sakura and your welcome, honestly I had fun playing with Kakashi-kun, too. Though I have to say your son is very sneaky." Sakura introduced herself, smirking at the grinning child.
"Why do you say that?" The man tilted his head imitating the dogs their clan summons.
"He has the control not to make a simple mistake, like falling off the monkey bars for example." Sakumo glanced down at his snickering kid, before bursting out laughing himself.
"Now, squirt. Why would you do something like that?" Stilling chuckling the man questions his kid.
Without hesitating Kakashi beamed at both adults "cause she smells good, like strawberries!" Sakura's face flushed hiding her face behind her hand.
Sakumo calmed at that statement and tested it for himself. Sure enough, Sakura's natural scent was very similar to strawberries. It was a very pleasing scent, soothing almost.
"Hey Strawberry. Would you like to come over for lunch?" Kakashi practically glowed at his dad's invitation, excited to see his new and pretty friend at their house.
Sakura uncovered her face slightly fanning the hot surface. Her verdant eyes scanned Sakumo's slate gray eyes before nodding, not really trusting her voice.
Kakashi did an adorable fist pump, jumping out of his father's arms. The boy grabbed Sakura's cool hand then grabbed his father's calloused warm hand.
"Ne, Sakura. Why don't you become my mom?" Kakashi innocently asked not paying attention to how both adults tripped with bright strawberry red faces.
