The door creaks open as the chestnut haired male trudged into the house. He kicked off his sandals before hurriedly moving over to the couch and collapsing on it.

"Hayate?" Sakura's voice came from the top of the staircase. She had heard the door open and a muffled thump, so she was reasonably worried.

Her sickly husband's chakra was weak but not threateningly so. But he wasn't answering her.

"Hayate?" She asked again as she began to make her way down the stairs. A muffled groan and cough finally sounded.

Reaching the bottom she saw a mass on the couch clutching a pillow. "Honey, do you need anything?"

Sakura crouched next to the couch placing a hand on his forehead. 'No fever, must just be exhaustion.'

Hayate gave a sigh of content when his wife began to knead his temples. She always gave the best massages. Sakura pulled away causing the man to groan in protest.

"Don't worry, I'm just making you more comfortable." The kunoichi picked his head up and sat on the couch then placed his head on her lap.

Hayate breathed in catching a lungful of her sweet scent. He hugged her waist pulling himself up onto her lap even more.

Sakura smiled down at him fondly, they had started dating after she began treating his scarred lungs. It's been a long process but now his lungs only bothered him when he was tired.

Dainty hands began kneading his shoulders, of course throughly checking for any torn muscles or bruises. Sakura moved onto his back and lower back, she used her chakra to scan his lungs.

Hayate hummed, his hoarse voice smooth although weak. Sakura finished his back moving her dexterous hands back into his hair.

She giggled quietly seeing him fast asleep on her, knowing he was in deep sleep Sakura moved without a problem. She laid back on the couch with him in between her legs, Hayate subconsciously moved further up her body laying his head on her upper stomach.

Sakura breathed out a content sigh burying her hand in his hair.
