Drip-

Drip-

The sound of water splashing brought the Medic out of her dark subconscious.

'What?' Sakura tried her best to keep calm and think through her current situation. Without realizing, the medic utilized the energy inside her to net out the interior of the place she was in.

It was huge. A cave like none other. Not only that but their was something, that popped up on her radar. Something big and powerful.

Sakura doesn't know what it is, but her gut was telling her to investigate it. Going against all of her shinobi training, she decided to follow that feeling.

But before she could do anything, she realized that her body was different, her body was small and she had no legs or arms.

Panic began to set in as she figured out that she was no longer in her human body, as well as the settling fact that she may be in a different dimension.

Activating Genius Sub-Skill, Logical Thinking.

Sakura flinched when a masculine voice rang through her head. However as the voice faded, the medic could feel the panic begin to taper before completely disappearing.

'What is going on?!' The question screamed in her head, as she also figured she had no mouth.

Answer. Host has been chosen by the Sage to be reincarnated into this dimension.

The now slug, calmly nodded her antennas as she began to piece things together. Her theory is that the Sage of Six Path's asked the god of this world to accommodate her, in which led her to where she is now.

Because of the Sun-Skill that was activated Sakura was not affected by the rampaging emotions that were slowly leveling out.

And with her understanding her situation the slug used her sensory skills to make her way to the large ball of energy she had felt earlier.

Along the way Sakura regained control of her emotions and continued to ask questions to the voice in her head. In-between questions she figured out how her slug body and sense worked, slowly progressing.

An orb slightly cloudy filled up the whole cave chamber. Inside was something Sakura had never seen in her entire life. A dragon.

'Ho~ an Intelligent slug, would you look at that? And it's not even scared of me.'

A deep rumbling voice echoed through her mind as she stared up at the overgrown reptile.

'Overgrown reptile! Hahaha! How amusing. You little one are very amusing.'

Sakura glared as she was unable to speak but knowing he was reading her mind made communication a little easier.

'Oh~ you can't speak? How unfortunate. What's your name, little one? Though I doubt you have one, seeing as your a monster.'

The slug glanced down at the ground knowing what the dragon was speaking about. And even though she had a name in her old world, it wouldn't be as powerful as receiving one here.

'Hehe, little one you just keep becoming more and more interesting. So this is not your first life, huh. But you want to receive a name here because it could increase your powers? How smart! And greedy... hmm. I guess I could give you a name. But you must give me something in return. I've been trapped here for many years, and there is no one to keep me company. So I will name you but you must keep me entertained and be my friend.'

Sakura watched silently as the large intimidating figure cutely pressed his pointer claws together. If this was how he acted most of the time then she was fine with keeping the cute dragon company.

'Cute!? I am not cute! I am ferocious and scary!'

He glared down at the tiny pink slug, who wished she could roll her eyes at the big lug.

'Hmph, fine. I forgive you. Now for a name... hmm. Your pink. An unusual color for a slug. What was the name of that one tree...? It grows near the Oni village and has these pink flowers. Oh! Sakura!'

A glow took over the slug as a tinkling laughter filled the once quiet cave.

"Haha, what Irony!" Sakura bent over clutching her middle as tears of sadness and acceptance left her verdant eyes.

'What are you laughing about?'

The curious voice of the dragon filled her head as Sakura placed both hands on her hips.

"My name in my first world was Sakura. And you've allowed me to keep a little of my home with me. Thank you... uh. What's your name?"

The dragon mimicked her pose as he huffed out his nose. "I am the Storm dragon, Veldora. I am one of the only four True Dragon's that exist in this world."

And with that Sakura spent a year training her skills and with Veldora's help she quickly got stronger, enough so that she became a Demon Seed.

One evening Sakura had left Veldora's cove to explore more of the cave. As she was making her way back to the dragon, she felt Veldora's presence blink out of existence.

Because of the constant background affect of Logical Thinking, she remained calm. Sakura had felt things die before it's was a gradual thing, but Veldora's disappearance was instant.

The slug decided to think no more and to physically investigate the strange phenomenon.

Rimuru allowed Sage to accumulate the dragon into his slime body when he felt a powerful aura come from the entrance of the small cove.

"Veldora?" A fairy like voice called out to the unusual silence, not expecting an answer but announcing her presence to the hopefully friendly creature.

A/N: I told you it was gonna be long, we just passed the 1,000 word mark...

'Hello?' A soft high pitched voice rang out in her head, almost timid in a manner.

Long pale pink hair accompanied by strong verdant eyes peeked around a corner allowing the slime full view of the cute voice from earlier.

The girl was petite wearing a pale green yukata, she seemed harmless but something about her aura and the gleam in her eyes, screamed dangerous.

The strangest thing about the girl was probably the rhombus in the center of her forehead.

Sakura was a kunoichi and as they were taught was to use anything they had to deceive the enemy, so using her current looks Sakura looked at the slime with an innocent yet confused frown.

"Slime-san, where is Veldora-san?" To add some affect she tilted her head. Sakura watched as the blue slime pinked slightly.

'It's a long story, hehe.' With a sweat drop the slime proceeded to explain to the girl his situation and where Veldora is.

Halfway through she lost her facade, and with a serious face she listened.

"That idiot. But I guess this is for the best if Veldora can regain his freedom. Was there anything he said before he was, swallowed?" The slug sighed cradling her head in her hands.

Rimuru thought for a little 'ah! He said to take care of his best friend. But he never told me who exactly that was. Though I guess he was referring to you?'

Sakura allowed a fond grin to spread on her face "yeah that's me. I guess I'll be in your care for now. I do have a question about what you plan to do now?"

'Well for one, get out of this dreary place.' The slug nodded as she looked around at the darkened section of the cave. The place she had called home for a year, with a dragon of all things.

Time Skip

Rimuru and Sakura made their way through the cave with no problems, even experiencing their first humans since either of them had been reincarnated.

Though Sakura got a kick out of explaining to the slime that she wasn't a human.

Now both creatures were wondering through the forest with no definitive heading.

Without any warning heard a bunch of tiny feet scurrying towards them with the clunking of metal followed.

"Strong one, do you have business here?" A group of small scrawny goblins armed with rusty weapons and roughed up armor.

Sakura allowed a small grin to form as she was completely overlooked, one thing she had noticed on their way out of the cave was the difference in aura between her, Rimuru, and the weaker creatures.

With this in mind she completely hid her aura, making her easily overlooked. Not that she minded.

Rimuru glanced back at her before looking around in confusion. Before debating it any further the slime chose to use his vocal communication for the first time.

"RIGHT, SO, HELLO! I'M A SLIME, MY NAME IS RIMURU!"

The outburst scared the poor creatures so bad that they immediately bowed on the ground.

Sakura frowned feeling as though they had bullied the creature even if they hadn't meant to.

The slug slapped the back of the slime, bringing attention to herself. This caused the already scared goblins even more scared, they hadn't seen her at all!

"You moron, quieter. They are already scared." She folded her arms beneath her chest, glaring down at the slime.

One of the goblins with a red bandanna braved through his fear "we're well aware of how strong you are, sir! Please quiet your voice."

He trembled as he protectively placed himself in front of the other goblins. Rimuru sheepishly laughed as Sakura shook her head.

"Was there a reason you braved the presence of my friend here?" The slug's verdant eyes softened as the head goblin relaxed just so slightly.

The goblin nodded as he gathered more courage "we sensed a powerful monster, so we came here as a precaution."

Sakura raised a fine brow directing her gaze towards the slime.

"I don't sense anything like that." Rimuru sounded genuinely confused.

The goblins all gaped as the male with the red bandanna exclaimed "surely you jest! Even if you face us in that form, we won't be fooled!"

"Strong one- ah ones. Having seen your power, we wish to ask for a favor." They bowed once again as Rimuru accepted their invitation.

As they were being led to the village, Rimuru paused and looked back at the pink haired girl.

"You've been with me this whole time. But I didn't ask if you wanted to. If you want you can leave, you don't have to follow me." The blue slime commented in a solemn voice, averting his gaze to the side.

He didn't want to admit it, but the feisty girl had become a treasured friend and someone he could rely on.

Sakura replaced her confused frown with a fond smile. "You can't get rid of me that easily, Rimuru. Your my comrade and I promised that I would stay by your side. I don't go back on my promises."

The slime turned a pink color as she grinned down at him. "Alright! Then let's go help these goblins."
