A man in a tattered suit holds a bottle of bourbon as he quickly fixes the wires in a radio set as a previously a concussion mortar hit outside, sending the radio to the ground. as without it he could not broadcast live as even without him, the music would still play. He had made sure of that as a way to keep hope in the hearts of men. even when he was long dead.
Fixing the radio as replacing the vacuum tube fixed and taking a shot of bourbon would begin his last broadcast as the sound of gunshots was getting closer but was drowned out by the loud speakers playing The Letter by The Box Tops, which was a favourite of the man in a tattered suit as it was charming and the message was one of what everyone wanted, a return to loved ones.
As the record ended, he flipped the switch on the mic.
The bourbon had greased his throat for one last speech.
In a strong, charismatic voice, he spoke
My friends, my brothers in arms who fight the good fight, my family, I am making this broadcast to let you good folks know. As I speak, the chimera, the scourge that destroyed our way of life, attacks this beacon of hope that is your truly, and I tip my hat to the New Orleans Minutemen for guarding this place and risking their lives so that I can send this message out to all the people who are oppressed by fear, by the chimera, but never lose hope, my friends.
We are never truly defeated as long as one man holds a gun in his hand and a fire in his heart, To spit in the face of death with a smile on our lips, and as the devil himself sends his demons after us, we laugh and say "give us your best shot." but With that, my brothers, my time is near, but don't worry, the music will still flow thanks to the riverboat men and their donations to the have rigged a dead man's switch on a hidden broadcaster so even at the time of my death, the music will flow to give those in need of help, hope in the face of darkness, so I bid
My fellow humans, farewell. Good look to you and remember to fight the good fight. "
The sound of a door breaking open is followed by the sound of 2 M5A2s sounding out with the death scream of a chimera. Then, with a final hail merry, the broadcast goes off.
After a few seconds, the broadcast comes on, playing "Bad Moon Rising."
