Chapter 4! I was shocked to find that I got 7 reviews for the last chapter! Wow! Thanks to Emilia (Guest), MaryMarieMeadows, Jaell, Bookkeeper2004, Seleine16, CaptainSteve1, and fitzclaire37 for reviewing (sorry if I'm missing anyone, the reviews are not showing up on the website so I had to scroll through me email).

Also, thanks to those who have helped me decide what to put as the update priority, it's really helping!

CaptainSteve1: Is Jay going to go evil….hmm….well, I would say that he is going to act rude and selfish, like he had been trained to, but not really go evil himself. Thanks for the review!

Emilia (Guest): If you were asking to have Keira's POV (the girl who can control shadows), I may do it for a bit, thanks for the idea! Look for it in future chapters! (It just didn't really fit into this one to well)

Cole POV

After a couple days of training and planning, we met Sensei Wu at the Lost City of Ouroboros, Sensei Dolion's location of choice. Which, in my opinion, was a cool spot to pick out. Rubble from the Great Devourer's rebirth laid everywhere, making good obstacles and barriers for a tournament. And I, being the Earth Ninja, could do a lot with the rumble, as it was made of sandstone. This was perfect.

I looked over at my teammates as we walked over to where Sensei Wu and Dolion were talking, trying to know what they were feeling. Nya, probably because she was the Ninja of Water, seemed to be a bit worried, Lloyd as well, though, it may be because he was worried about who he would face. Zane, as always, seemed calm, while Kai was very excited. Me? I hoped that something good would come out of this. I was not just doing this for sport, I was doing it to eventually help them. Sensei Dolion was a bad man, and none of them deserved it.

"Master Wu? We have arrived." Zane said, gaining the attention of the two old friends. Sensei Wu smiled, but I could tell he was concerned. Dolion, though, smiled as well.

"It's very good to meet you, Ninja. I've heard many good things about you all." He said, shaking each of our hands. I knew he was a bad man, but he seemed really nice. If the man standing in front of me asked if I wanted to be a Ninja, I would accept without hesitation. He appeared to be the nice neighbor we all had, smiling kindly, being interested in us. Nothing like the madman we all know he is.

"It is an honour to meet you, as well, Sensei Dolion." Zane said, nodding his head in respect. " I read about your successes in the Serpentine War, I must admit, what you pulled off was a mighty feat." I looked at Zane in shock. Was he serious? What was he doing?

"Yes, the Serpentine War was a war that I was a large help in. Though it was fun, I truly hope you all don't have to go through anything as bad as that."

"I think we have gone through worse一" Nya began, but I butted in, no wanting to make this man angry. Instead, I was going to butter him up a bit, following Zane's lead.

"No, I really hope we don't have to. We were fortunate to have amazing people like you protecting our future."

"Students, why don't you go and join the others, while Dolion and I continue working on the brackets?" We nodded, and made our way to Sensei Dolion's students, most of whom looked at us in disgust. Lloyd raised his eyebrows at Zane and I in question. I assumed it was because of our interactions with the Evil Ninja Master we were walking away from.

"If we make him think we like him, he will not see us as a threat, and not worry about our effect on his students." Zane said. " The less concerned about us he is, the better chance we have."

"A better chance to do what?" Kai asked, but before any of us could respond, a kid with black hair walked up to us, I recognised him to be Daniel Devoe, or the Decomposer. He held a beautiful yellow flower in his hand, and made his way over to Nya.

"Care for a flower?" He said, kneeling down like he was proposing. Nya'e eyes widened, confused, and as she reached for the flower, Daniel smirked. Nearly instantly, the healthy flower in his hand turned brown and shriveled up, soon crumbling into dust made of petal and stem. Nya gasped, and backed away.

"Oops, I guess it didn't have much life left in it. Neither do you." The Decomposer said, laughing. The rest of his team joined him, all except someone who was sitting on the ground. It looked like Jay. The Master of Lightning looked up at the commotion, but quickly looked down once again.

Kai was fuming. It's one thing when someone messes with our team, but when they mess with Nya, oh, boy. I am scared for this dude. Just as Kai was about to throw a punch, though, Sensei Wu and Sensei Dolion walked up, and asked their respective teams to line up, for introductions and apparently to find out who we were going to fight.

Seeing across to the other team, I studied each of them. Sure, I have seen their files, but you can find out a lot through their actions. Sensei Wu spoke up before I could find out anything, though.

"This is Kai, Cole, Nya, Zane, and Lloyd, as I'm sure you know. Their elements are Fire, Earth, Water, Ice, and Energy."

" In order: Crystal, Light, who are the twins, Animated Shadow, Decomposer, and Lightning. " Sensei Dolion said, gesturing to his students. My eyes darted from Lightning, er, Jay, and Light. Jay's eyes were focused on the ground once again, while Light looked strong, which is why he caught my eye. He is probably the guy I'm supposed to fight. Strength versus strength? What could be a better fight? Sensei Wu spoke up once again.

"Now, the brackets. Kai, you will go against Ani-Shadow." Kai groaned, and she, Kiera, blew him a kiss, teasing.

"Lloyd will go against Crystal." The two nodded to each other, probably out of warrior respect. She seemed like someone who would be nice, in different circumstances.

"Zane, Light." Light drew his hand across his neck, like he was saying he was going to kill the Nindroid, but Zane rolled his eyes. He, as well as I, know that overconfidence kills.

"Decomposer against Nya," At this Nya paled, likely remembering the flower. She was going to have to be careful.

"And, that leaves Cole and Lightning." Oh no. I have to go against him? I don't want to hurt him…

"The rules." Sensei Dolion said, looking at everyone equally, " All teams will fight at the same time. You cannot interfere with any other fight. You will fight until someone gives up or is unable to continue. When you give up, tell your partner, and they are expected to end the fight. Any questions?"

" We can use both weapons and our Elements, correct?" Zane asked, raising his hand slightly. Dolion nodded.

"You can use anything you get your hands on. Disperse among the ruble, and begin whenever you want."

That's when we all separated, Nya stroming away with Decomposer following her, Kai and Shadow wordlessly walking together, Zane and Light deciding to switch their weapons for the fight, Light using shurikens and Zane using a bow, and Lloyd一 wait一 was he flirting with Crystal? That was messed up…

I walked over to Jay, who was still standing in his position, wordlessly. He had a mask on, it seemed. I could not read how he felt. It was like he had no emotion whatsoever. That was...concerning.

"Ready?" I asked, trying to break the tension. He nodded, and, after getting into our secluded spot, began fighting.

I was very impressed. Between shooting our elements at each other, dodging each weapon attack, we were evenly matched. He did not use his element too often, but when he did, it was with precision and expertise. He was fast, too. Faster than normal, which is what I assume is like my element giving me strength, but giving him speed.

At first we could hear the battle sounds around us, but we made our way further and further away, so we had no clue what was going on.

I tried to keep a conversation going, but Jay never talked. That's okay, maybe he's not a talker. But, even as he refused to do anything else rather than fight, he was smiling. It was small, but I could tell he was enjoying himself. I was, too.

At one point, he climbed up to the high ground, shooting lightning from the sky. After dodging it, by mere inches, no doubt, I Airjitzued up to him, giving him a surprise.

"What was that? It was so cool!" He asked, and I smiled.

"Airjitzu. It's like Spinjitzu, but it makes you fly." I responded as I ducked under his nunchucks, swinging my scythe at him.

"It looked more like a Cyclone to me. What about...Cyclondo?" I laughed.

"Sure. Cyclondo."

We continued fighting, not caring about what was going on with the others. If I was being honest, I didn't feel like I was fighting an enemy. It felt like I was dueling a friend. What if he was on our team? I could imagine us playing video games, him teasing me about my food, and who knows? Maybe he has a skill that we could do as a team, like hiking or something. That would've been cool.

When I was stuck in my thoughts, I accidentally tripped on a piece of rubble, falling. It didn't hurt, but it gave Jay the break he needed. Pulling a small knife, he quickly pressed it to my neck, but not close enough to hurt me. He, even though panting, was smiling. It was like he had joy radiating off of him. And, it was contagious.

"Give up?" He asked, suppressing laughter.

"Yup, you win." I said. He pulled the knife away, and we both started howling with laughter, soon making our way back to the starting point.

That was really fun.

Jay POV

I'm not gonna lie, if Sensei Dolion saw my actions when I fought, he would not be pleased. I let emotion out, but I didn't care. I felt like I could be me around Cole, even though he didn't know me. It was great. Finally, I could laugh again, smile, without being afraid of punishment. Well, unless Cole told them about it.

But, as we came in view of the others, he looked over at me and told me that he would keep it a secret from my team. I sighed in relief, but before I could thank him, we heard a yell coming from the group ahead of us.

Wait...everyone was all together, like a huddle. What was going on? Was someone hurt?

"It's your fault! I don't care who you are, or how powerful you are, but you will pay for hurting my sister!" That was obviously Kai. We both started to run.

As we got closer, I felt the electricity running through everyone's bodies. But, something stood out. In one body, the electricity was not moving. That was not normal. It meant that someone's nerves were not talking to the brain, like someone who was paralyzed, but even then there was still some flow of electricity. Or, it meant that someone was….nononono. Not Nya.

We pushed through the crowd, concern clear on Cole's face, probably on mine too. I would worry about that later. When we got through everyone crowding Nya, I gasped. She laid on the ground, not moving. Kai had tears in his eyes, and was attacking Decomposition.

Cole went up to Zane, who was beside her, while I stood back. I didn't know what to do. I probably shouldn't do anything. I just became a part of the crowd.

Zane looked up a Cole, and said something softly under his breath. I heard it, and couldn't breath.

"She...she doesn't have a pulse, Cole. She doesn't have a pulse."

Expect an update within a week or so. Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and review!

P.S: Thanks to Apple-Apple (Guest) for the Cyclondo idea! It fit in really well!
