Wait... *touches face to make sure I'm not a ghost* I'm back? I'm alive?! Yes, I am! Wow, it's been such a long time...I'm so sorry! To be honest...I have no good excuse. Just a lack of motivation to write, I guess…

Anyways, onto the chapter!

Jay POV

Everything was so, so cold. Frantically looking around, I saw that I was chained in the cellar once again, but it was slowly filling with water. I thrashed against the chains, screaming for someone, anyone, to help me.

Dolion made his way down the stairs, holding Nya in his arms. She was covered in cuts and bruises, her eyes frantic, pleading for rescue.

"The water will cease if you do one thing for me, Lightning." Dolion said, his voice echoing through the dark hole.

I felt the tears burn at the back of my eyes, wanting to be free. The water was up to my knees now, and the fear that lodged itself into my chest grew bigger.

"Kill the girl, and you'll be free."

"Kill her? Never!"

Dolion smirked, "The water's getting higher…."

I locked eyes with Nya, who now had tears down her face. "You can control water! Make it go away!"

She shook her head. "I can't. Kill me, Jay! You need to be alive!"

"No, Nya! I need you!"

I stood up taller, the water rising to my throat. Dolion and Nya were both covered with water to their knees.

"Kill her, Lightning! Or die!"

I gave Nya one last look as the water rose above my nose, my head. I would never kill her. I would never become a murderer.

Hopefully.

I woke up with a scream, sweat covering my shaking body. I covered my mouth with my hand, trying to quiet down. It didn't help at all, only made me panic due to the lack of air, so I dropped my hand, trying to steady my breath.

Nightmares sucked.

I looked at the clock, then at Sensei Wu, who slept in a bed across the room, hoping that I didn't wake him. When the team was deciding who was going to sleep where, I had really, really, wanted to sleep on the couch. But, I was overruled by Sensei, who thought it would be best if he stayed near me, that I shouldn't be alone.

It turned out that he was right.

I closed my eyes, suddenly dizzy. My breaths came out fast, and I couldn't feel my arms, my legs.

I can't breathe I can't breathe please help get the water out of my lungs please I'm dying please help

"Jay! Jay, open your eyes and look at me!" I heard Sensei Wu say, but it was muffled. I was underwater and I couldn't breath and I was drowning...

"Jay! You're having a panic attack. Take deep breaths for me, alright? In….out." Wu said, and followed his own steps. I tried to mimic his pattern, but all I saw was the water and bubbles and Nya, Nya was going to die and I couldn't help her because I was drowning….

"Open your eyes, it'll be a bit easier."

Finally, I obeyed, and saw Sensei Wu's kind eyes look at me with concern. I breathed in, and exhaled, trying to control my emotions. I had to be strong, or else he'll lock me in the cellar they had.

"There you go. A nightmare?" he asked, and I nodded.

No, Sensei Wu was kind. He'd never put me in a cellar.

We sat in silence for a while, I picked at my blanket that I had slept in, waiting for him to say something. He never did.

"Is it possible to see the future in our dreams?" I asked suddenly, and he shook his head.

"For those with experience, like me, for instance, I can. But, people like yourself, with a normal element, you cannot. I wouldn't worry about that, it was just your mind playing tricks on you."

"I can't do this."

Sensei Wu looked at me in confusion. "You can't what?"

I sighed, playing with my hands. "Fight Dolion. I'm not strong enough."

"It's not about strength, it's about heart. You have heart Jay, that's why I originally wanted you on my team."

That got my attention. "Wait, you wanted me?"

He smiled. "Yes, I did. Then, and even now, I see you fitting perfectly with us. I'm glad you're here. My question for you is, are you?"

I bit my lip, looking down to my lap. Was I happy to be here? Or did I want to be back there?

No. I didn't want to be back in Dolion's grasp. No matter how new everything is, no matter how hard it is, this is safe.

Sensei Wu seemed to sense my thoughts, and wrapped me in a hug, a hug which I melted into.

"It's going to be okay." he said as he rubbed my back. I closed my eyes, suddenly exhausted, and let his soothing words lull me into a peaceful sleep.

Cole POV

I stuffed a forkful of pancakes in my mouth when Sensei Wu entered the kitchen, holding a couple mugs of tea.

"You're late." I said, knowing that Sensei is usually awake earlier than anyone else. Sensei Wu sighed, sitting down.

"Jay had a rough night."

Clarissa looked up from her plate of eggs, "Nightmares?"

Wu nodded.

She shrugged. "Not a surprise. I get them too, I'm just better at hiding it."

I gave a sad smile in her direction. "You should have never had to go through what Dolion did to you."

She gave a smirk. "You're concerned for me, aren't you?"

I felt my face turn beat red, and Kai laughed beside me. "Ummm...uhh, like concerned as a friend…."

She laughed, and I felt my heart swell. "Aww...I was hoping you'd like me more than just a friend…."

Kai hit Cole's shoulder. "I'm sure he does."

"Kai!"

Sensei Wu cleared his throat. " Training will start soon, I'd like to see what you both are capable of, Clarissa."

Nya and Jay then walked through the door, holding hands. As soon as they saw that there were others in the kitchen, they let their hands drop.

"Hey, guys." Nya said sheepishly, and Kai groaned.

"Please don't tell me you guys are a couple!"

"What?! No, Jay, just….uhh...got lost."

"And you needed to hold his hand?"

Jay interrupted. "I heard something about training?"

Kai sighed at the subject change, and got up. "Yes, ten minutes and we'll train."

Ten minutes later….

"Before we get started, how much do you know in regards to your element? Spinjitzu? Airjitzu, perhaps?" Sensei Wu started, and I saw Jay bite his lip, looking to the ground.

"I know Spinjitzu, but nothing else. I'm pretty sure Jay doesn't know anything like that." CLarissa stated, and Jay nodded.

"Very well, that's a starting point. Kai, Cole, I want you to try and teach Clarissa Airjitzu, while Lloyd and I train Jay. Zane and Nya? I would like you both to spar against one another until Jay and Clarissa are ready for hand-to-hand training."

"Yes, Master." Zane said accompanied with a bow.

Then, the groups separated, and I couldn't help but feel a bit overjoyed that I was helping Clarissa learn Airjitzu.

Even though we didn't have the scroll that would teach the lost art, it is said that one master can teach another. I could only hope that that was true.

After what felt like ten minutes, Clarissa could do it like a pro. She was a natural at harnessing her element, and was absolutely beautiful when she flew. Even though the bottom half of her body was covered by the silver tornado she created, her white hair whipped around her head, framing her soft jawline, her gorgeous eyes….

"Cole. Hey, Cole. COLE!" Kai shouted, snapping me out of my thoughts. "You're staring at her like a freak."

Cole shrugged with a smile. "Can't help it. She's beautiful."

"Ask her out."

"What? No way!"

Kai smiled. "Trust me, Cole, I'm a winner with the ladies. I know what they want. Go up to her, and ask if you two want to hang out sometime, and throw in a compliment or two. She'll fall head over heels for you."

Sensei Wu strolled over to them. "Clarissa, I see you have gotten the hang of it."

"It's fun!" She shouted from the top of the roof, and jumped down.

"How's Jay doing?" Kai asked, and Sensei looked back, where Lloyd and Jay were sitting down, taking a break and talking.

"Not well. He can't seem to learn Spinjitzu."

"Does he have to?" Clarissa said, and I looked at her like she was nuts. He was a Ninja, he had to know Spinjitzu.

"I mean, I know him. He has a hard time tapping into his element, but he's an incredible fighter in hand-to-hand combat."

"That's true." I added, remembering our fight in the small tournament. " He's really good."

"Why can't he do it?" Kai asked, and Wu sighed.

"He either hasn't found the key yet, or he's afraid of his powers."

"Master Wu!" Zane shouted, and we all turned towards him.

"I've received a communication request form Dolion. He wants to talk."

I'll try to update sooner, but I have placed a poll on my profile regarding updates, as my updating schedule is really messed up right now. Your opinion is valued!
