Road trip
Bobby started to squirm in his seat. After three hours sitting his entire lower body had become numb. In a feudal attempt to distract himself from the pain, he started reading. Noticing Bobby's discomfort, his sister Loan suggested stopping and taking a break. Lincoln was about to say no when he saw how tired everyone was. Seeing a rest stop up ahead, Lincoln got off the interstate.
The entire family got out of the car and started stretching. When Bobby tried standing a sharp pain went through his leg almost making him fall. Ronnie ann noticed a walkway around the building and started pacing, trying to walk off her tiredness. The only one not affected by the long trip was Loan being quite used to the sedentary lifestyle. Bobby and Loan went inside the rest stop. To Bobby's amusement, it was train themed. Posters depicting locomotives decorated the walls. The tables looked like the ones in train carts.
Can I borrow a dollar? Bobby asked Loan. Sugar, this early in the morning can't be good for a growing boy. Pulling out a ten dollars bill from her pocket and handing it to Bobby with a smirk. Bobby walked over to the row of vending machines and got some milk and two candy bars. Walking over to Loan, Bobby notes she was eating a bag of chips from her purse. Did you have that with you all this time—Loun noded. Your mom told me not to give you any candy while we're on the trip. What about this, Bobby pointed to the candy bar in his hand, Loan simply smiled, I just gave you some money whatever irresponsible thing you do with it is out of my hands.
Bobby sat down next to her sister and started drinking his milk. Have you ever been to royal woods? Bobby asked. Loan looked thoughtful for a second. Yeah, my mom and me live there until I was six. Do you know anything about what happened between dad and grandpa? Loan looked down at her hands. I don't know. AS far back as I can remember, they both got along great then one day they stopped talking to each other. Bobby noticed Loans hands shaking. What ever happened between them must have been really bad. Loan started biting her lip, After we moved out the house we used to visit our grandparents every year for christmas. Then around when I turned eleven we stopped visiting. Our aunts stopped coming over and it was just me and my mom.
Taking a bite of his candy bar bobby frowned. His first week of summer break and he would be spending it with his estranged family. It almost made him miss visiting the casagrande. Seeing his father walking inside, Bobby quickly ate his candy bare and handed the second one to Loan. Lincoln noticed his kids and walked over to them. It's a bit early to be eating candy. We have plenty of food in the care if you're hungry. Sorry dad, chili verde is a bit too spicy for me and nopal ist to my taste either. Lincoln laffed, okay jest don't let ronni ann cach you eating junk food Lincoln said while looking at Bobby. Let's go. We have a long drive ahead of us. Getting back into the car, Bobby grabbed the machine crusade from his bag. At the very least I'll get some reading done.
