Black Star sat down on Soul's queen size mattress as Soul closed the door to the room; Soul pulled his phone out and connected it to a small, black colored bluetooth speaker in the room and began playing a rock playlist at a low volume to allow the two boys to continue talking. As Black Star sat on the bed, Soul sat on the other side, putting his hand under his pillow to pull out the goods; his large baggy of marijuana that he had left on his bed before leaving. The green bong was on the floor right side up so it hadn't spilled a single drop of it's water; Soul picked up the bong and began packing the bowl when Black Star's voice interrupted the silence.

"Are you really okay, dude?" the blue haired boy said as he looked at his friend. Soul gulped as he tried thinking of an answer that wouldn't freak Black Star out but the longer he thought the more he realized it was impossible to make any of what was going on in his life sound good. "Can we just not talk about it right now? I really just want to get high and chill. None of this sad shit." Soul said, forcing a smirk to appear on his face. Black Star sighed and nodded his head as Soul lifted a black lighter to the bowl, causing the plants inside to burn a bright orange color, as he put the bong to his mouth and breathed in. He breathed out a smoke puff in the shape of a skull, just the way Stein would do, while Black Star watched in awe. Black Star had always been the one in the friendship to do more drugs but that didn't mean Soul wasn't skilled himself in the art of it all; it took weeks to get the skull smoke trick to work but he did it and he was damn proud of this skill. "Let me try!" Black Star said confidently as he lifted the bong to his lips and lit the bowl; he breathed in for five seconds before coughing violently, expelling the smoke from his lungs. Soul laughed at his friend as he took the bong from him, using it for himself once again.

After ten minutes of passing the bong from one to the other, the boys were fully stoned. Soul's body felt heavy, as if moving would take as much energy as it would take to transform into his weapon state. Black Star's eyes were a light shade of red and so were Soul's; "Are you.. Are you high?" Soul stuttered as the feeling of euphoria that the high of weed gave him took over. "Soul, what the fuck do you think?" Black Star said, giggling between every word before bursting out laughing at the end, causing Soul to do the same. The boys sat together on Soul's twin size mattress as the feeling of the THC affected their minds and bodies more and more.

"Dude, Tsubaki has been on my ass for the last few weeks." Black Star said as he sprawled his body across the mattress, his arm nearly touching the body of his friend across the bed. "What about?" Soul said, lying himself on the mattress as well making Black Star move his body to take less room. "The drugs, man. She thinks I'm an idiot for doing what I do." Black Star muttered, looking up at the ceiling as if he was trying to avoid eye contact with his friend. "Well, you're not stupid." Soul said, "She just doesn't know what she's talking about, man. She doesn't understand. She's one of the only weapons I know that hasn't done any drugs ever."

This was because, in Death City, weapons were somewhat discriminated against by different meisters. Many meisters saw weapons as nothing more than tools to make themselves successful even though said weapons were living, breathing, human beings. This form of discrimination could be quite intense for the weapons involved, which pushed them into the drug and alcohol lifestyle as a way of coping with the feeling of being "just a tool". Sure some meisters also did drugs, take Black Star for example, but the majority of drug users in Death City were weapons. Soul, Liz, and Patty all did some sort of illicit substance; Soul's drug of choice was marijuana whilst Liz's was acid and Patty's was crystal… Black Star's was coke. Drugs were pretty easy to get a hold of in the city and the government in the city didn't do much to stop it; even Lord Death himself didn't say anything against the practice of self medication.

"It's not like her saying that shit is gonna stop me from doing it. I'm Black fuckin' Star; I can do whatever I want!" Black Star said, laughing almost maniacally as Soul just smirked his usual smirk. "Whatever you say, dude." Soul said as he thought about his own experience with people judging him for what he did. Soul's family didn't take his "doing any drugs he can get his hands across" thing very well; they knew nothing about his mental health issues, so they felt no empathy or compassion for him when he did what he did. Soul felt that the drugs helped him more than his family ever had; it was hard, but Soul didn't regret leaving his family home to live with his blonde-haired partner. His life had gotten so much better since he left his family home… The abuse he faced for being a weapon in his family was intense. Soul and Black Star were both still high at this point so, when Soul started feeling emotional over his traumas, the drugs made his mood perk up. As Black Star began singing along to one of the rock songs playing in the background of their smoke sesh, Soul got up the nerve to ask a question he had been wondering for a while; "Black Star… Are you straight or are you something else?"

This question, surprisingly, didn't upset Black Star at all or make him uncomfortable; instead he joked "Okay man, I get it, you want to fuck me," which caused Soul to blush a deep red, "But in all honesty, I don't know. Tsubaki and I dated a while ago but we broke up pretty quick; I've never really felt sexually attracted to a girl. I've been attracted to men though… I've had a crush on nearly every male friend I've ever had." Soul blushed even deeper before he asked another question; "Even me?" Black star laughed and said, with a slight pink blush to his face, "I'm kind-of going through a bit of a thing for you right now, dude." Soul couldn't have blushed more as Black Star laughed; "I don't have a crush on you, Soul. I just think you're really hot."

Soul didn't know what came over him in that moment; the way Black Star was speaking awoke some sort of feeling inside of Soul as he got into a sitting position next to his friend, closed his eyes, and put his lips to his. Black Star's eyes stayed open in shock for the first second before he closed them and began kissing back; Soul's heart pounded as the kissing became more passionate and intense. Black Star's lips tasted like cigarettes as Soul kissed him, which was a taste Soul was learning to love. Soul's lips parted as Black Star's tongue entered his mouth, exploring every part of it, causing a moan to come from Soul's mouth. Black Star began touching Soul's chest, rubbing his hands along Soul's collarbones as Soul's hand squeezed his thigh. Soul decided to be dominant for once and pushed Black Star to the bed as he hovered above his body; he crashed their lips together, small moans coming from the both of them as their bodies collided. Black Star bent his knee below Soul, touching Soul's inner thigh roughly, causing Soul to moan and grunt out of want and need. Black Star began taking Soul's shirt off for him but, as he started doing so, Soul stopped kissing him and looked at the door; "What's up Soul?" Black Star muttered in a wanting tone before getting shushed by Soul.

Suddenly, the both of them regretted not checking that the door was locked. The door opened quickly and there stood someone they did not want to see at that moment; Maka Albarn. Maka looked into the room in absolute shock, her eyes wide as ever, as she saw the two boys touching each other in such a way. "What the fuck Maka!?" Soul yelled, quickly getting off from Black Star's body. "I heard something in here and got worried, Soul!" Maka said with a deep red blush on her face. Black Star laid there quietly with a blush on his face as the weapon-meister duo argued before he got up. When he got up, Soul and Maka quieted down and looked at him; "I'm going to leave, guys. See ya." Black Star muttered as he walked out of the room and then out of the apartment.

Soul became enraged and yelled at Maka for her to go back to her room and leave him alone. Soul was shocked at what had just happened; he never expected for the night to end in a make-out sesh with his best friend… Soul's heart raced a bit as he thought about what had happened, but this wasn't a bad feeling. He was excited about it all. The second Soul's head hit his mattress he passed out, even though he had planned to message Black Star later that night.

As Black Star entered his shared apartment with Tsubaki he saw his partner in the living room waiting for him; "Where the hell have you been!?" Tsubaki yelled as she stood up from her seat. Black Star didn't respond but, instead, just walked to his room and locked the door. Tsubaki's voice could be heard through the door but Black Star ignored it as he laid in his bed and thought about the night's events. As he thought about the events of the night he remembered he had something in his pillowcase; he stuck his hand into the case and pulled out a small bag. This bag was about three-inches by three-inches and was nearly full with a plain white powder; Black Star's specialty. He took a book from beside his bed and put eight lines of the powder onto the it before pulling out a straw and doing what he always did; the powder ran out on the book as Black Star's mind began to warp. His body felt so heavy as he laid on his bed, as he passed out to Tsubaki's voice in the other room.
