Chapter 1

Robin slid down the zip line towards the third floor balcony of the delapitated hotel he could just make out the armed guard on the balcony one floor below, he let go of the zip line a couple feet from the edge of the balcony, the toes of his left foot connected with the guards temple knocking him unconscious instantly.

Richard Grayson knew the noise from the guards collision with the concrete balcony would alert the guards inside, he left the unconscious body on the balcony and slid silently into the closet of the old hotel room connected to the balcony.

"Hey what's going on in here!" another guard shouted bursting through the door, he noticed his fallen comrade but didn't have time to react as he to was rendered useless by a blow to the temple although this time it was a long metal bo staff that struck him down.

After taking care of the guards throughout the building Richard moved toward the elevator at the center which seem out of place do to the age of the building around it. He used one of the guards key cards to unlock the elevator and stepped inside

"Basements always a solid starting area" he said thumbing the button labeled with the letter B, the elevator jolted then started the descent. When Richard reached the bottom floor a message appeared on the screen saying he'd need level 3 security access

"It's always level three" he pulled out the leader of the guards security pass and pressed it to the screen and access was granted to him.

Richard stepped out of the elevator only to catch a bullet in his left shoulder, an employee of whatever company owned the old hotel had panicked upon realizing someone was using the elevator as the security crew were instructed not to come down on this night in particular as he was to begin experimentation on the most dangerous of all the monsters down here. But in his panic he'd sprayed a line of bullets down the corridor hitting multiple important pieces of electrical equipment, the corridor was long with fifteen doors on either side each marked by a number, and every door opened instantly as the locks malfunctioned. The last thing Richard saw before falling into unconsciousness do to pain was the man, who'd just shot him in not just the shoulder but also in his right forearm and the right side of his chest being mauled by some humanoid beast.
