This is a Sneak Peak to the continuation of Revenge - No it is not the complete story, it is just a sneak peak to three scenes that will be in the book, so enjoy. Also, I joined the Kataang discord, so if yall are on, reach out and ask whatever you want. Or just chat, if you want.

These scenes take place simultaneously after Revenge:

"I'm telling you Katara, he's changed. He's unhinged, he's calculating, he's unpredictable, he's... he's dangerous."

As he listed all the traits he himself had witnessed Aang display the day before, all his fiancé could do was doubt. Neither Aang nor Zuko had told her what had happened between them, with that said, she still could not force herself to recognise the desperation and worry in Zuko's voice. She could not see the dangerous and manipulative man her fiancé made him out to be... all she saw was a boy; the boy who saved the world and grew into a man... a man she reunited with yesterday in an intimate way.

"Trust me, Katara. I know it seems unbelievable, but the Aang we used to know is gone... the man you saw yesterday was not him."

His words rang through her ear drums, she heard what he was saying, but she did not allow herself to even try to comprehend what he was implicating. The Aang she saw yesterday was the same Aang she's always seen – albeit more confident, cocky and playful – he was still the same Aang she'd known since he'd woken in her arms. Kind, compassionate, thoughtful, selfless, optimistic... that was the kind of person she recognised yesterday – and to her, it sounded exactly like Aang.

However, she was the Firelord's fiancé, and to keep appearances, she had to at least somewhat agree with him – or at least seem like it. "Fine, Zuko." Katara sighed, not meaning another word she said afterwards, "If you really think so... I'll be careful around him." Sighing again, Katara was about to leave until another thought entered her mind, "But I will not abandon him – not like before. You may have seen a different side of him but I saw the same Aang I've always seen... and I will not abandon him. If he has changed, in the way you seem to think..." Katara's face and voice softened as she continued, "then I can help him. Around me, he doesn't act differently, he's the same airbender I've always known him to be. A smile tugging her lips, Katara turned slightly to hide the growing blush on her cheeks, "So, maybe if he spent some more time with me, he could 'return completely' to how he was before."

Narrowing his eyes, Zuko questioned the soft and peaceful look on her face. She's never looked like that when think of me... Doubt creeping in, he feared the worst when he asked, "Katara, did something happen between you the two of you yesterday?" After Aang's constant teasing and provoking regarding his fiancé yesterday, Zuko had a hunch that the Avatar's entire plan hinged upon breaking his relationship with Katara apart. So, needless to say, he was a little anxious and angry to see how his fiancé was reacting to the Avatar.

As memories of last nights' sweet and savoury kiss settled in her mind, Katara turned around completely in a desperate attempt to hide the blush that now coated her tan cheeks. "No..." she tried her best to not stutter as to appear confident and truthful, "Nothing happened."

As she began walking back to her room, Katara caught a glimpse of the door of Aang's room being slightly open and she couldn't help herself as she strutted softly towards it. The feel of his lips on hers, the taste of his tongue, the sensation of security and love embedded within his embrace – all these emotions drove her to open the door as she rushed in, hoping to find an airbender to talk to regarding the events that occurred yesterday; mostly questions consisting of him and Zuko's fight, but also regarding them and the moment they shared.

However, as she entered, all she found was a clean room, a few misplaced sheets, a few robes hanging loosely off the bed, a half-opened bag, and no airbender. She knew she shouldn't pry, but her curiosity won out when she stepped closer to the bag sitting on the bed. Searching for... nothing in particular, all Katara seemed to find was a few robes, some bracelets, his beaded necklace, notes written to noblemen in the Earth Kingdom, a few unanswered wedding proposals – big surprise, she thought, the bachelor Avatar is wanted by women of all nations, women whom he pays no attention. Neither of these miscellaneous items caught her eye, except for a photograph she found buried beneath the robes.

The photograph was of a cute, 4 maybe 5-year-old Water Tribe girl, laughing, sliding down a waterbended slide while holding onto her chocolate ice cream in one hand and one of Aang's bracelets in the other.

Katara smiled at the photograph of the precious girl before asking, who is this? And who is she to Aang?

"I thought he had changed but I never really knew it was this bad..." Zuko declared, leaning over his war table. The wreckage of his, Aang and his fiancé's previous debacle still fresh as he and Sokka analysed the maps and images of Amon's targets and previous attacks. "I thought we could help him but... this is different, Sokka. He's crossed the line."

"The world crossed the line first, Zuko," Sokka interrupted, eyeing the Firelord from the corner of his eye as he held a picture of the bodies of Fire Nation generals laid out among a ship in his hands, "They squeezed him, and they hammered him in their desperation for power. And in their desperation – they've now created a man we no longer fully understand." Despite always acting like a child, Sokka had a tendency to be solemnly wise and insightful, a trait he shared with his Uncle very much so. "But I still refuse to believe that Aang did any of this. It's clearly Amon who caused this, and I know Aang's changed but –"

"Believe me Sokka," Zuko interrupted, "He's not the Aang we remember." When Sokka nodded in understanding, Zuko turned and walked to the other side of the table, viewing the images taken of the Avatar's attack on the Fire Navy ship. "He may have not been there in person, but he definitely played a part. Aang's a criminal now Sokka... and its not hard to understand criminals. He's a simple person, I can be sure of that. We just have to figure out what he wants."

"Well maybe, Zuko, Aang is now a man you don't fully understand either." Sokka stated while talking a seat at the end of the table, shifting slightly to face the Firelord who was analysing the briefs of the recent attacks. Katara's water-whip had caused a scar to form on his forehead; it wasn't bad, but the blood was dripping onto the pages. Still, Sokka gave it no thought as he continued, "A couple years ago, I was in Senlin Village with my warriors. We were working for the local government; they were trying to buy a seat in the Republic City Council by bribing the Earth King with precious stones – stones that my space sword was made of. They were shipping these stones to Ba Sing Se, but their carriages were being raided by a bandit, in a forest north from there. So, we were hired to look for those stones."

Now turning his attention from the briefs to the Water Tribe Warrior, the Firelord motioned for him to continue as he knew Sokka was attempting to get a point across through this story.

"But in six months, we never met, or heard of anyone who traded with that bandit. One day, as I was leaving, I saw a child playing with a meteorite the size of a tangerine." Noticing the question on Zuko's face, Sokka finished his recounting, "You see, Zuko, the bandit... had been throwing them away."

Confusion clear on his face, Zuko straightened up from leaning on the war table before asking, "Wait, so why steal them in the first place?"

Sokka chuckled at the Firelord's cluelessness as he answered, "Well, because he thought it was good sport... and fun, because... some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money or power." Zuko turned his attention back to the briefs and the images, analysing the carnage laid out beneath him while Sokka continued, "They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with..." Continuing to assess the briefs and images, Zuko noticed how Amon stole no information, took no prisoners, sought no specific item or person... he only wreaked havoc; all that remained of the ship were the few metal containers and body parts that floated back to Fire Nation shores. And as Sokka continued, his words rang clear in in his head, "Some men... just wanna watch the world burn."

"Where is he?! Where's Amon!?"

The Fire Nation general yelled as he made his way through the halls, outraged that he had been deceived by the masked man. As he searched through every room, he came across the living room which was also empty. Growing tired from searching, the general turned towards his assistant as he not so politely asked, "Where the fuck is Amon-"

"Speak of the Devil," a voice emerged from behind him, originating from the living room, "and he shall appear."

There stood the hooded figure, cloaked in his dark robes with his white and red mask covering his face... Aang's face – only the general didn't know he was dealing with the Avatar; he just thought Amon was just another ambitious non-bender seeking justice. So, needless to say, the man was way too aggressive and overconfident in regards to dealing with Amon;or the Avatar, if you will.

"What the hell is going on!?"

"The plan is proceeding as expected..."

"Really?! Do I look like I'm being throned as the Firelord right now?!" The general yelled, enraged that Amon had so clearly decieved him. "Your little attack on that Fire Navy ship... it didn't work my friend. We couldn't get the council members to vote Zuko off the throne, and now my men are hunting down the perpetrators instead of working for me! How exactly, is that supposed to help me dethrone the Firelord huh?"

Amon paid the general no attention as he glanced over to his assistant and ordered, his voice muffled through his mask, "Leave us."

"No!" The general fought back as he turned around and pointed a finger at his assistant, "You stay right there. I'm in charge."

Without a moment's hesitation, Amon firmly placed his hand over the General's shoulder, his voice low and intimidating as he spoke, "Do you feel in charge?"

Clearly realising who was more powerful, the assistant walked away as the general slowly crept back into Aang's heated gaze, his voice trembling as he pleaded with the masked man, "I-I gave you all the... r-resources you n-needed..."

"And this gives you power over me?" Amon lowly fired back, his heat seeking eyes shooting right through the general's as he glared at the man below him. "Your money..." Aang continued as he wrapped his hand around the general's neck, "and influence has been important... until now."

"What are you?" The general whispered, too frightened to speak in a normal volume while being lifted in the air in grasp of the unstable criminal.

"I am your salvation."

"You're e-evil."

"I am necessary, but not evil." Sighing deeply in frustration, Aang grasped the general's neck completely as his free hand engulfed him. Relishing at the feeling of having one of the men who tore his life apart struggling to breathe within his grasp, Aang continued with an amused look behind the mask, "You brought this on yourself... Be sure to say greet for me Ozai when you see him in hell."

The assistant heard the muffled screams and the heart-wrenching choking, - soon, however, he remarked that there was only one man breathing in that room.
