A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Megaforce rewrite, which I've dubbed "Starforce". I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Megaforce/Starforce or Tensou Sentai Goseiger in any way. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original version.
Again, a little note: I've changed the name Loogies to Spirits.

Season 1, Episode 2: How to Build a Team
Harwood County High School, Harwood County, Oregon
September 11, 2015
Jake groaned when he heard who his new project partner was. "Mr. Burley, are you really making me work with her?!"
Gia, the 'her', gave him a raised eyebrow, sarcastically replying with, "Gee, thanks, Holling."
"The project is to get to know each other on a personal level using the guide I gave you, Mr. Holling," Mr. Burley explained. "Bond over the weekend and write a report on the level of your newfound friendship and turn it in on Monday."
"I know," Jake politely shot back, "but why her?!"
"Because I am aware of how strained your connection with Miss Moran currently is," Mr. Burley replied. "I haven't forgotten the pranks you played on her all last year, which the school has banned this year."
Jake groaned as Gia rolled her eyes. It was safe to assume that she wasn't thrilled about this either.
Meanwhile, Troy met eyes with his own project partner Emma, who shrugged at him. Troy lightly sighed. He could only hope that these two didn't try to kill each other.
Not to mention, he and Emma had been paired together for this project, and he didn't mind one bit (Noah was paired with a boy in their class named Jordan).
Mr. Burley continued, "Now, since today is Friday, I'll let you out early. But," he interrupted before anybody could cheer, "you must finish this pop quiz."
Yet another thing for Jake to whine about.
As Mr. Burley was passing the pop quizzes to his students, Jake groaned, "I hate pop quizzes."
"Stop complaining," Noah whispered back. "Besides, this is easy."
As Jake looked at the quiz in front of him, "Says the nerd..."
By this point, Mr. Burley had finished passing out the quizzes. He sat down at his desk, "No talking during the test. If you have any questions, come up and see me." He then picked up his Rubik's cube and began working on it, while his students began their quizzes.
Troy tried his best to concentrate, but he was distracted by something that happened this morning.
It was early in the morning, before school, and he had been out on a run in the park, and he had paused when he heard a strange sound. Looking to investigate, remembering what Gosei said about The Land Between's barriers having been broken into by The Land Below, he had cautiously entered the woods.
It wasn't long before he spotted a strange monster like the one he and the others had fought the other day.
"Who are you? What do you what?" Troy asked.
"My name is Creepox," the monster replied. "Remember it."
"What are you doing here?" Troy repeated. The monster still hadn't told him.
"I've come to see what sort of creature dares to challenge by insectoids," Creepox began to circle Troy slowly, studying him. "So very soft. With a single stroke, you'll be trashed."
Troy remained unfazed, "Humans are a lot tougher than we look, but I won't fight you just to prove it."
"Oh, you will," Creepox shot back. "Count on it."
He then walked away.
Troy shook his head to return to the present. He had a quiz to finish.
By this time, Mr. Burley had fallen asleep and was softly snoring in his chair.
Jake looked up when he heard a chair slide across the floor. He saw and watched in awe as Gia walked to the front of the room, placed her quiz in the basket, before heading out of the classroom.
How...?
A few minutes later, the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. The noise abruptly woke up Mr. Burley and he fell backwards in his chair as the students began to gather their stuff.
Noah saw his teacher fall and hurried over to him. "Are you alright?"
Mr. Burley tried to compose himself as he scrambled to stand back up. "No, I'm...I'm just fine." He picked the Rubik's cube off the floor and straightened up to address his class, "Have a scienficeric weekend, everyone!"

Gia was at her locker, looking at her Morpher, when she felt someone tap on her shoulder.
She immediately whirled around, ready to punch the person who dared to touch her in the throat, a glare on her face, but she stopped when she saw Jake cowered in fear. Seeing him there (and only him) allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Oh, it's just you," Gia saaid, before turning back to her locket. "Don't scare me like that ever again. Trust me. One day, you'll end up with your voice box no longer working right."
Jake paused for a moment, "Guess I've had worse reactions."
"I don't want some random kid to see my Morpher," Gia explained, placing her Science and History books in her locker. "We have to keep it secret, remember?"
"Yeah, I know," Jake replied, almost grumbling, as he crossed his arms and leaned against the neighboring lockers.
After placing her English book in her bag, Gia closed her locker, "I don't like being your project partner either, but we are also on the same team. Maybe this project will help us get along so the others aren't dragged into it by accident."
Gia had a point. It wouldn't be fair on Troy, Emma, or Noah, if either of them got hurt because of his and Gia's rivalry.
"Besides, one of the guidelines for the report," Gia continued, "is 'Name a flaw that your partner could work on and state why'. That could be our chance to finally get everything out in the open...y'know...why exactly we don't like each other..." she trailed off, hoping Jake would get it before she was forced to admit something personal.
"I can't wait for that part," Jake replied, and Gia was grateful that he did.
"I know," Gia let slip a smirk. "Shall we go to the park?"
"Sure," Jake shrugged. "Let's go."
And with that, the two left the school.

The Land Below
Vrak was delivering his daily report to Admiral Malkor, "I believe we should study the humans and learn about their weaknesses."
Creepox gloated, "I've already done that."
"You?" Vrak asked. "Studied the humans?"
"I ran into one this morning, and he wouldn't fight me," Creepox explained. "I saw we begin the invasion at once and wipe out all the humans."
Admiral Malkor disagreed, "You may have tested the human, but you did not fight him. Vrak is right. Yuffo!"
A monster stepped out from the shadows, "Yes, Sir?"
"We are in need of your scientific skills," Malkor replied.
"I am honored, Sir."
"I want you to find the humans' weaknesses," Malkor explained.
Yuffo bowed, "Your wish is my command. Of course, I will need some humans to experiment on."
"Then capture them," Malkor instructed him. "As many as you need."

Jordan had to go home early today, so Noah was free for the rest of today. He knocked on the door of Mr. Burley's office, holding the man's scarf.
He saw Mr. Burley jump out of his seat, accidentally throwing the Rubik's cube he was studying. It landed by Noah's feet, and he picked it up as he said, "Mr. Burley?"
"Oh, hello, Noah," the man greeted him.
"You left your scarf in the classroom," Noah said, holding out the red scarf he was holding.
"Did I?" Mr. Burley asked, before concluding, "It certainly sounds like me." He motioned with his hands for Noah to put it on the coat rack.
As Noah did, he noticed a large amount of photos consisting on the many mysteries of this world, like the Loch Ness monster, Big Foot footprints, and other unusual photos. "Wow...cryptozoology?" Noah asked. "ESP? Extraterrestrials?"
"Yes," Mr. Burley replied with a smile. "I'm convinced science will one day find an answer to these great mysteries."
"Me too," Noah agreed. "I've always been fascinated by this stuff."
Mr. Burley immediately stood up from his chair, surprised. "You have?" He walked over to his student.
"Absolutely," Noah replied. "The Marfa Lights, the Piri Reis map, the Jersey Devil...even the possibility of the existance of some form of heaven or hell..."
Mr. Burley was surprised at the last one, "Heaven or hell, hmm? Well, there have been many questions about that, but I've learned that oftentimes, heaven and hell exist within your own mind or even where you are in that moment." His words made Noah think. It made sense. "Now, my boy, I have some pictures of the Loch Ness monster that will blow your mind."

Troy and Emma were sitting at a table at Ernie's. Troy had treated them both to some frozen yogurt while they did this project.
"What are your hobbies and why?" Emma read from the questionnaire the tenth question.
"Martial arts," Troy answered. "It helps me think." Emma nodded as she wrote his answer down on her sheet. "And you?"
"Photography and scrapbooking," Emma replied, and Troy wrote her answer down on his paper. "It helps me keep track of things better." She was quiet, and Troy sensed some deeper meaning behind that answer.
But he chose not to pressure her. "My turn." He grinned at the question.
Emma saw the smile forming, "What?"
Troy was still grinning as he read the question, "If you were a superhero, what powers would you like to have?"
Emma giggled, before answering, "Is it wrong to say that I've always wanted to fly?"
Troy wrote her answer down, replying with a little joke, "I think it'd be blasphemous not to."
The two were Power Rangers now, the two Starforce Rangers that ruled over the sky, if anyone didn't get the joke...
Emma shook her head, still smiling, "What about you?"
"Super strength," Troy answered. "That combined with my martial arts abilities could be rather effective."
Emma wrote down his answer, before reading the next question, "How would your friends describe you?"
"Don't have any," was Troy's answer.
"What?" Emma's smile was gone, a worried look in its place. "You don't?"
Troy solemnly shook his head, "Nope. I've always been the loner."
"Oh..." Emma stuttered. "I-I'm sorry."
"Don't be," Troy quickly and calmly replied. "It's not your fault. What about you?"
"Oh, um...kind, I guess," Emma answered. She had never really bothered to find this out, because she didn't care what people thought of her.
It was Troy's turn to read the next question, "If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?"
"The year my mom died," Emma was quiet as she answered, "so I could spend one last day with her."
Troy, out of respect, was quiet for a moment. Whoever Emma's mother was, she must have been very loved.
"What about you?" he heard Emma ask.
Emma had seen the mournful look on his face when she brought up her mom, and, not wanting his pity, she had to turn the conversation around. She watched him as he answered with, "The year I was born, so I could find out why I never knew my parents."
"You...never knew your parents?" she asked.
Troy shook his head again, "I live with my aunt and uncle."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be," he repeated.
Emma forced herself to continue, "Who knows you the best?"
Troy paused as he thought, "I'd like to say 'myself', but that's not true, so I'm going to go with my aunt. She's incredibly in tune with all the emotions of the world around her, especially her family's."
Emma found it in herself to smile again, which made Troy smile (he didn't like seeing Emma sad). The Pink Ranger answered with, "My dad. He's the one who taught me how to ride a bike, how to take good pictures, how to take care of the environment...and I'm also the last blood relative he has left."
Which he didn't have the luxury to take his daughter for granted.
"Looks like we're both broken, huh?" Troy asked her.
She looked at him straight in the eyes and nodded, before the two shared a warm smile with each other.
But they did feel a lot closer.

Gemstone Park, Harwood County, Oregon
Gia and Jake were sitting on a bench at the nearby park, their sheets on top of their binders, which were resting in their laps.
"If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?" Gia asked.
"The year before my dad died," was Jake's answer. "Just to get one last taste of us all being a normal, happy family."
Gia felt some guilt rise up. She didn't know Jake's father had passed away, and at the time, she didn't really care because it didn't concern her. "Sorry..."
Jake raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Why? It's not your fault."
Gia simply chose to shake her head, "Nevermind. I'd travel to the year I entered kindergarten. Tell myself not to be so antisocial."
"Why are you antisocial?" Jake asked.
"That's a secret," Gia refused to look him in the eyes.
"We're supposed to be bonding, you know," Jake reminded her.
"I know, but the question you asked is not on the sheet," Gia explained her loophole, "so I don't have to answer."
Jake rolled his eyes (this time, in a playful way, surprisingly), before reading the next question, "Who knows you the best?"
"My little sister, Lily," Gia replied, a small smile on her face. "We share everything."
"How old is Lily?" Jake asked, as he wrote her answer down.
"She's nine," Gia answered. "We share everything, because we kinda have to."
"Why? Are you poor or something?"
Gia was quiet, before she whispered, "Maybe some other time, I'll tell you. But not now."
"Right," Jake replied with his answer. "I'd say...myself."
It was Gia's turn to raise an eyebrow, "Why?"
"My mom doesn't really understand sometimes," Jake explained. "My new stepfather tries to, but doesn't always succeed, and Emma thinks we're similar, but we're not."
Gia read the next question, "If you had a warning label, what would it say?"
"Hmm," Jake thought before replying, "Warning: Extremely Sarcastic. You?"
"Warning: Do Not Disturb."
Jake snickered, knowing how true that was. "On a scale of one to ten, how funny would you say you are?"
"I'd say zero," Gia said, "but since other people tend to laugh whenever I make a sarcastic comment...maybe a five?"
After Jake wrote her answer down, he answered, "I'd say I'm a ten."
"Why?" Gia asked. "If anything, you're the zero. Your humor is-" she then surprised him by cutting herself and changing her tune (which concerned him), "-out of this world!"
"See?" Jake gloated.
"No! Look!" Gia shot back, not playing around. She pointed at the sky behind him. "A UFO!"
Both Rangers watched as the UFO proceeded to split up into several saucer sections, before familiar green-colored Spirits began to corner people, allowing the many saucers capture the groups with nets.
"What's going on?" Jake asked, he and Gia packing up their stuff, ready to run.
"I don't know," Gia said. "Let's call the others."
"No need," Jake gloated. "I bet I can take them on all by myself!" He playfully winked at her before running off to where the saucers were taking all the people trapped in nets.
Gia stared after Jake in disbelief. Did he just...?
Gia growled before racing after him. She wasn't going to let him outclass her.

Paradise Beach, Harwood Country, Oregon
Jake and Gia both hid behind a nearby hill and watched as the saucers all came together into one entity, a monster.
"A Field Commander!" Jake said.
"Are we gonna watch, or are we going to do something about it?" Gia asked, before pulling out her Morpher and Card.
"Don't tell me what to do, Moran," Jake grumbled, but he pulled out his Morphing Card anyways.
"It's Morphin' Time! Starforce, Shine Down!"
Now morphed, the two leapt into the action located in the quarry below.
"Stop your crying," Yuffo was telling his human test subjects. "This is for science!"
Just then, two blasts hit him in the back.
Yuffo turned in time to see the Black and Yellow Rangers land and aim their Star Blasters at him.
"Snake Star!"
"Tiger Star!"
"Full Blast!" And two more blasts were aimed at Yuffo, who used his head to easily deflect them.
"Good timing, Rangers!" Yuffo exclaimed. "You two are the perfect subjects for my research program!"
"Let those people go!" Jake demanded, as Gia got to her feet.
"I am so very sorry," the monster said, "but I cannot allow you two to interfere with my experiments. But, I'd be willing to pay a hefty price for you to become test subjects!"
"Oh, please, we're priceless," Gia sassed.
Jake added, "Sorry, but this experiment is over."
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Yuffo cried. "Spirits!" An army of Spirits formed in a bright flash of green. "In the name of science, charge!"
"We can take 'em!" Jake said before he and Gia charged in, their Blasters in hand.
"Just try to keep up, Black!" Gia shot back, before sending a flying kick at one and blasting another (calling him by his color since there were citizens nearby).
After Jake flipped one to the ground, he said, "And that's how it's done, Yellow!"
But Gia was too preoccupied by her group of Spirits to notice, "Back off! Tiger Claw: Shine Down!"
"Summon Battle Gear!"
Jake soon had to summon his own weapon as well, "Snake Axe: Shine Down!"
"Summon Battle Gear!"
He sent a kick to one but was send flying, landing on his back. He looked up in time to see Gia get kicked in the chest. "On second thought, maybe we could use some backup..."
Yuffo ordered the Spirits, "Don't hurt them too badly! They're still viable test subjects!" He split up into various saucers again, saying, "I'm going to collect more subjects."
Meanwhile, Gia pressed her Claw against a Spirit's sword and pulled out her Morpher, "Red, Pink, Blue, if anyone is out there, Black and I need some help. Paradise Beach! A monster is kidnapping innocent civilians! Repeat, Black and I request backup!"
~S~A~N~C~T~U~A~R~Y~~~P~O~W~E~R~~R~A~N~G~E~R~S~~S~T~A~R~F~O~R~C~E~~~M~E~G~A~F~O~R~C~E~~R~E~D~O~
Jake and Gia had been forced down to the rocks right by the water. They were corner, nowhere to go. At least, they were far away from the civilians now.
"Heads up!" came Troy's voice, and Jake and Gia ducked as red-colored blasts hit the Spirits behind them.
Troy landed beside them and immediately began to fight off the Spirits, "I've got your back!"
"Thanks!" Gia called back as Troy summoned his Dragon Sword.
As Jake used his Axe to fight off the Spirits, he pondered, "I wonder where Noah and Emma are!"
"Emma should be here any minute!" Troy called back. "She had to help Ernie clean up a spill!"
"Just hang tough, Holling!" Gia told Jake as she jabbed a spirit with her Claw.
Yuffo laughed with glee, "Yes! What luck! Now, I have three Power Rangers! Let's begin my experiment right now!" He said, before sending blasts at the three Rangers, knocking them all down to the ground. "Don't be afraid, Rangers," he told the injured trio. "This is for science!"
He yelped when a pink-colored blast hit him, and Emma was standing there, on top of a nearby boulder. "And that was for humanity, monster!" Emma cried before leaping into action.
She landed by Troy and grabbed his hand before helping him back to his feet. "Thanks, Emma," Troy said.
Meanwhile, Jake and Gia got back to their feet and resumed the fight with the Spirits, as Emma said, "So, catch me up, what's going on?"
"He keeps talking about an experiment," Troy told her.
"He thinks he's a scientist," Jake told his step-sister.
"Oh, I see," Emma realized. "He wants to see what makes humans tick, and he's going to start on the people he's already captured. Probably wants to see what weapons work best on humans."
"That's not going to happen!" Troy charged with his Dragon Sword, and Emma with her Pheonix Shot.
"More Spirits!" Yuffo commanded, and soon more Spirits did charge in. "Retreive those specimens!"
During the fight, Jake was knocked, and soon Gia was too.
"Phoenix Shot!" but Emma's blasts knocked the enemies surrounding the two away.
Together, all four managed to defeat the remaining Spirits.
"Saucer Wave!" Seeing this, Yuffo sent out energy replicas of his saucer forms at the Rangers.
The four didn't manage to dodge them in time. The attack managed to knock them to the ground.
Yuffo laughed when he said this, "Excellent! My attacks are proving to be highly effective! Fatigue enhances the effects of the attack! What next? Perhaps, we'll test your resistance to fire!"
He then shot multiple fireballs at the four, sending all four Rangers flying.
Yuffo verbally wrote down his notes, "Fire attacks are extremely effective. At this rate, destroying the human race will be child's play!"
"Shark Bowgun!"
Various blue-colored energy arrows hit Yuffo right in the chest before Noah landed in front of the group.
"You guys okay?" Noah asked.
"Yeah, thanks for the assist," Jake was the first one to his feet, and he gave Noah a gentle pat on the shoulder.
"Sorry to interrupt your touching moment, guys," Gia said, as she, Troy, and Emma got back on their feet, "but I think it's time to take this guy down."
"Absolutely," Troy said. "Fury of the Dragon, Starforce Red!"
"Flames of the Phoenix, Starforce Pink!" Emma called.
"Venom of the Snake, Starforce Black!" Jake called.
"Claw of the Tiger, Starforce Yellow!" Gia called.
"Bite of the Shark, Starforce Blue!" Noah called.
"Earth's Defenders, Never Surrender! Power Rangers: Starforce!"
By this time, Yuffo was beyond pissed, "Would you Rangers quit messing with my experiments?!" He then threw multiple bombs at them, causing an explosion.
From the five Rangers jumped out of the explosion, untouched. Troy and Jake attacked first, then Gia and Emma, and then finally Noah finished by tackling Yuffo, both landing right into the ocean.
Yuffo looked around him, water everywhere, and demanded that Noah, "Let me go!"
"If you say so!" Noah said, doing just that and then raising his weapon in the area, "Shark Bowgun!"
The flurry of arrows forced Yuffo out of the water, and Noah was quick to follow.
The five gathered together once more.
"Time to try an experiment of our own!" Noah said.
"Weapons Combine!" The five Rangers proceeded to combine their respective weapons into a giant crossbow-like weapon. "Starforce Blaster!"
They all placed their respective Power Cards into the Blaster.
"Sky Power!" Troy and Emma called.
"Land Power!" Gia and Jake called.
"Sea Power!" Noah called.
With this, the Blaster charged up, before they fired it together. "Dynamic Victory Charge!"
Yuffo exploded in a great fireball, and his defeat released all of the people he had captured from his nets, all of them happy to be free.

The Land Below
Malkor roared in frustration, furious at Yuffo's failure. "Vrak, unleash your pets," he said as he walked away.
"Yes, Sir. I shall send my Zombats at once," Vrak said.
"Such disgusting creatures," Creepox commented. "Where did you get such filthy abominations?"
"I made them myself," Vrak replied. "They are robotic, far too complex for a simple minded individual like you to understand." Creepox growled, but Vrak ignored him. He snapped his fingers. "Zombats!"

The Rangers faced Yuffo as the monster sruggled to stay standing, blue lightning emitting from his body.
The five watched as weird looking little bat monsters attached themselves to Yuffo before connecting to each other, and together they made Yuffo enlarge.
Now giant, Yuffo exclaimed, "Extraordinary!"
The Rangers below were immediately on edge. "How is that possible?" Gia wondered.
"The experiment continues, Rangers!" Yuffo said, punching the ground below him where the Rangers were.
The five managed to leap out of his way in time.
"Hey! You five move pretty fast for such tiny creatures!" Yuffo said.
"I don't understand," Noah told his teaammates. "I thought we already destroyed him!"
"Looks like we need to do it again," Jake replied.
"We need to knock him down and keep him there," Gia said.
Yuffo shot fire blasts at them, the Rangers managing to get out of harm's way at the last minute.
"What we're doing isn't working," Emma noted. "How are we going to destroy him?"
"Rangers," Gosei came through their Morphers. "There are even greater powers at your disposal, but controlling them requires great skill and discipline. Can you do it?"
"Yes, we can, Gosei," Troy answered. "We have to be! Otherwise, The Land Between stands no chance!"
That's when all five of their belt buckles began to glow. The five each took out a Power Card, as Gosei told them, "Then take these Power Cards. Use them wisely."
The Cards were completely black, nothing on them.
"They're just like the ones for the Starforce Blaster," Noah noted. "But they're blank." Just then, pictures appeared on the Cards. "Wait, they're Zords!"
"Rangers, we are back in business," Troy said, before grabbing his Morpher, the others following suit. After loading the Cards into their Morphers, they activated them, "Dragon Star!"
"Phoenix Star!"
"Snake Star!"
"Tiger Star!"
"Shark Star!"
"Shine Down!"
"Summon Zords!"
Troy saw the Dragon Header hook up to an airliner, forming the Dragon Mechazord.
Emma saw the Phoenix Header hook up to an F-15 fighter jet, forming the Pheonix Mechazord.
Jake saw the Snake Header hook up to a bullet train, forming the Snake Mechazord.
Gia saw the Tiger Header hook up to a bulldozer, forming the Tiger Mechazord.
Noah saw the Shark Header hook up to a submarine, forming the Shark Mechazord.
"Still kicking, eh? How about some more toxic gas?!" Yuffo yelled, but before he could do anything else, the Zords fired at him, knocking him off his feet.
The Rangers were thrilled to see their zords arrive.
"Awesome!" Jake said.
"Gosei told us that The Land Between would help us protect it with mighty machines," Noah reminded the rest of them.
"I hope they run on bio-fuel," Emma commented.
"No," Troy told her, "they run on us. Our courage, our strength. That's what gives them power. Let's go!"
"Yeah!"
All five Rangers leapt into their respective Zord's cockpit.

Malkor was quiet as he and his two generals watched the fight go down. "Perhaps we have underestimated the powers these humans possess."
"They can't be doing this alone," Vrak pondered. "The Land Beyond must be helping them."
"It doesn't matter," Malkor said. "We will learn what it is that sustains them and then we shall bend them to our will."

Troy landed in his cockpit, before locking his Morpher into the panel that was rather obviously marked. "Morpher, Locked!"
The other four followed suit, "Morpher, Locked!"
Troy flew the Dragon Mechazord directly at Yuffo, not believing he was really flying a dragon.
"Let's put your machines to the rest," Yuffo said, before splitting up into his several saucers.
Dragon was fired on several times, and Troy decided to try and find some cover.
Emma was getting the hang of her Zord, but she had flying saucers on her tail (no pun intended). She decided to call Troy for help, "I can't shake these things!"
"Hang on, Emma," Troy said, as the saucers surrounding him covered the sky with dark smoke. This was bad. In this case, he was literally flying blind up here. He tried to fly Dragon out of the smoke, all while the saucers continued firing at him.
Dragon fired balls of fire at the saucers, which destroyed them, and pretty soon, Dragon was back in clear skies.
Meanwhile, Emma spotted a tunnel and decided to fly into it. The saucers on her tail followed her, but they weren't going down.
"What do I do?" she wondered allowed. She wasn't expecting a reply, but she got one anyway.
As Emma emerged on the other side of the tunnel, Troy told her, "Pull up, Emma!"
Trusting him completely, she did exactly what he said. But the sun was right in her eyes. "Ah! Stupid sun!"
"Keep going, Emma!" Troy said. "Stay on course!" Emma didn't see Troy there. He was against the sun, aiming his nose straight at the saucers following her.
"But I can't see!" she protested.
"Trust me!" Troy replied before firing several missiles at the saucers.
Emma cowered as she saw missles heading her way, but to her surprise, they all avoided her. "Huh?" She was confused, until she heard several explosions behind her.
"He shoots, he scores!" Troy said.
"He nearly gives me a heart attack!" Emma shot back.
"Sorry," Troy replied, as he and Emma flew back up towards the skies.
Meanwhile, Noah piloted the Shark Mechazord underneath the ocean. He was very impressed with the advanced technology. Shark locked onto two targets and Noah fired its weapon pods.
He managed to destroy two of the saucers, before a third attacked him.
Noah struggled. He needed to reverse the flow.
And he did it. Shark leapt out of the water, striking down the third saucer in the process.
On land, the Tiger Mechazord chased after several more saucers. Snake slithered behind Tiger, as they both chased down the saucers.
"I'll take 'em down!" Jake said.
"They're all yours, hotshot!" Gia replied, as Snake fired at the saucers before knocking a couple more into the air.
Tiger caught one in its mouth, before spinning around several times and then tossing it away, destroying it.
"We do make a good team, don't we?" Jake asked Gia.
"We sure do," Gia admitted.
Dragon and Phoenix returned, firing at another group of saucers, knocking several of them out of the sky.
The five Zords reassembled, and Troy said, "Look! The last one's going down!"
But the last saucer reformed back into Yuffo, "Impressive, Rangers, but ultimately futile."
"He's indestructible," Troy muttered.
Gosei came through again, "Rangers, you must combine your Mechazords, just as you combined your weapons. The power you unleash as a team is without equal. Form the Megazord!"
"You heard him," Troy told his team. "Form the Gosei Great Megazord!"
The five Rangers each placed a copy of the same Power Card into their Morphers. "Zords Combine!"
"Summon Megazord!"
Jake and Gia connected first, forming the legs. Troy followed up, forming the torso. Noah and Emma were last with the arms. The head was formed last.
"Gosei Great Megazord! Ready!"
Now, all five Rangers were in the same cockpit. "This thing is sick!" Jake said.
"It looks fine to me," Noah replied.
Emma breathed a sigh of relief, "I'm so glad we didn't crash!"
"Now, we'll really kick butt!" Gia exclaimed.
"Let's finish this guy!" Troy said. "For good!"
Together, they made the Megazord walk towards Yuffo, who was surprised at what he saw. He immediately began firing on it, but the Megazord walked through the explosions unfazed.
"Dragon Sword!" The Megazord removed the weapon attached to its back and struck at Yuffo with it.
After striking each other several times, Troy gave the command.
"Launch the Zords!"
The Dragon, Phoenix, Snake, Tiger, and Shark Headers detatched from the Megazord, flying at Yuffo.
"Super Punch!" Phoenix and Shark hit Yuffo dead on, the Megazord in the distance controlling the Headers (like a puppeteer).
"Super Kick!" Snake and Tiger also hit Yuffo dead on, before the Dragon Header breathed fire at him.
Yuffo writhed in pain as he watched the Headers reattach themselves to the Megazord, which flew up into the air, the Dragon Sword back in hand.
"Let's finish this!" Troy said, holding up the Victory Charge Card, the other four following suit.
"Victory Charge: Shine Down! On behalf of The Land Beyond, your sentence is destruction!"
"I don't like this card game!" Yuffo exclaimed.
"Victory Charge!"
Yuffo was destroyed for the last time, and the Rangers celebrated.

The Land Below
Malkor was not happy. Vrak and Creepox could only watch as Malkor destroyed part of his ship.
"If we are to conquer The Land Between, we must get rid of those Power Rangers!" Malkor exclaimed.
Because now they had proof that The Land Beyond was helping the humans directly now.
Something they once said was forbidden...

Gemstone Park, Harwood County, Oregon
The five Rangers were back at the park, hanging out together before they had to head home. Gosei was on the other end of Troy's morpher.
"Well done, Rangers," he was saying. "I am proud of you. Your bravery and teamwork saved the day."
They heard Tensou in the background celebrating, "They did it! They did it! They really did-!" Then a clang, and then an "Ow!" He must have banged into a wall or console.
The five managed to suppress their laughs, but not their smiles.
"Thanks, Gosei," Troy said before hanging up.
"We're sorry, guys," Gia told Noah, Emma, and Troy. "Jake and I never should have gone in by ourselves. We're supposed to be a team. All of us." At the end, she gave a pointed look at Jake.
"Yeah, it's not a competition," Jake agreed. "Besides, it was certainly much easier when it was all five of us."
"We're each pretty awesome on our own though," Emma added.
"But as a team," Troy concluded, "we're unbeatable."

Note: I really tried to make the Rangers seem as dysfunctional as possible. Hopefully, I did good. They all have a lot to learn. Also, the scene with Troy and Emma at Ernie's was probably my favorite one in this chapter to write.
A/N: Review, please. Tell me what you think. If you guys have any ideas you want me to consider adding, or any questions about the story, please PM me. A preview for the next chapter:
Season 1, Episode 3: "The Right Note"
"When a Warstar monster attacks the city with music that produces physical pain, the Rangers must fight back in an unorthodox way with a song of their own."
