A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Megaforce rewrite, which I've dubbed "Starforce". I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Megaforce/Starforce or Tensou Sentai Goseiger in any way. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original version.
Someone wanted to see how Noah and Jordan's project went. Don't worry, you'll see in a later chapter the fruits of their labor. Also, this chapter is Troy/Emma centric, with a little bit of Jake/Emma.
If I make you cry with this chapter, I'm sorry!

"When a Warstar monster attacks the city with music that produces physical pain, the Rangers must fight back in an unorthodox way with a song of their own."

Power Rangers: Megaforce REDO – dubbed Starforce
Season 1, Episode 3: The Right Note
The Land Below
September 15, 2015
Admiral Malkor, Vrak, and Creepox were together in the Warstar base, having been called together by the Admiral.
"I've called up a new ally," Malkor said. "Introducing Field Commander Dizchord."
The monster immediately leapt onto the scene, "Did someone say my name? That's music to my ears. Get it? 'Cause this guy right here is all about music. Check it out!" He twirled around and began to play his guitar, and he sang:
'Super star of a guitar!
Hotter than a quasar!
The power of rock & roll
Is just too hot to hold!'
Creepox was in disbelief, "And he actually thinks he's good."
"Horrible," Vrak commented.
"I know we're related to the failure that was Scorpius," Malkor said, "but he didn't have to add that. His song is so bad, it hurts."
But Dizchord didn't pay them any attention and continued with his song:
'I'm tops on the axe!
Awesome to the max!
Electrical or acoustic
I'm totally havoc!'
After the song was finished, Dizchord bowed, and said, "Thank you!" before walking over to them. "So who here wants backstage passes?"
"To what?" Creepox asked.
Dizchord got very close to him (probably way too much), and said, "My concert. I'm going to rock the human world. And if you want to see the show, I'll take care of you little people."
Creepox was irked at this comment, "How dare you?! How could your strength possibly compare to mine, you blowhard?!"
"Wait a moment, Creepox," Vrak calmed him down. "I think using Dizchord's music against the humans is indeed possible."
Creepox merely looked at Vrak in confusion.

Silver Cathedral Plaza, Harwood County, Oregon
It was after school hours. It was a normal day, no monster attacks, no Spirits, no unexpected calls from Gosei or Tensou. Just school.
Troy was on his way to the Masamoto Dojo, for Martial Arts Club. In between the school and the mall was a plaza, and Troy was currently crossing through it.
But then he saw Emma, sitting on a bench that was under a tree whose leaves had almost all but fallen, her bike propped up next to it, her pink helmet hanging from the handlebars. He walked closer to her, wanting to say hello, but stopped when he heard her singing, as she looked up at the nearly bare tree.
'La la la
La la la
The gentle breeze
Stirs the leaves and stirs my soul
My heart deep inside me
Sense my worth, as one with earth
Of greater whole, all connected as one
So bloom, bloom and share your sweet perfume
Flowers bloom-'
But then she paused, cutting herself off, before turning around (as if she had sensed Troy behind her). "H-Hey, Troy." She sounded very shy, making him feel guilty because he clearly wasn't supposed to hear her sing. "How long have you been standing there?"
"Not long," he decided to be honest. "You have a beautiful voice."
Her face was red as she shyly turned her smile away from him, "Th-Thank you."
He returned her smile, somewhat amused, "I take it you don't like people hearing you sing." Her silence spoke volumes. "Sorry about that."
"It's okay, really," she turned her head back to face him, a reassuring smile on her face, as he sat down next to her. "I was just experimenting with my new powers. I was singing the same song this morning when I noticed that my singing was making the flowers bloom." She glanced back up at the trees, and he followed her gaze.
She was right. It was Autumn, the season when leaves turned red, yellow, and brown, and fell from the trees. But there, on the branches, were pink-colored flowers blossoming as if it were Spring again.
"Wow..." he was in awe.
"I know, right?" Emma replied with a little giggle.
Dizchord was standing on top of a nearby building, the people (Troy and Emma included) below blissfully unaware of his prescence.
"I felt it!" he exclaimed to himself. "There was a spike in one of the Generals' powers right here! Hehe...you were careless, Ranger. Now, prepare to be amazed. You're in the prescence of musical greatness."
The second he began to play his guitar, people below began to cover their ears, their sudden headaches quickly turning into migraines.
Emma and Troy immediately hunched over, clutching their ears in pain.
"What is that horrible sound?" Emma asked, not sure if Troy could hear her over the loud music.
"I don't know!" Troy began to look around and survey the scene, when his Morpher went off. "Yeah?!" he asked over the loud noise.
"What is up with this music?!"Gia was on the other end.
"Good question!" Troy called back.
"Tensou just called! Monster attack in the city plaza!"Gia continued with her reason for calling him.
"Emma and I are already there! Hurry!" Troy almost pleaded with her, before hanging up. He didn't know why, but he was scared. It must've been the music.
Dizchord was having fun, as he amped up his music and his two-necked guitar began to swing furiously. He was disappointed when he felt another spike in the Generals' powers, very near him, and he was forced to stop as the five Rangers (all fully morphed) entered the scene, escorting people away from the park.
Gia was quick to note that Troy and Emma seemed to be in genuine pain, while she, Noah, and Jake only disliked how loud the sound was. She didn't have the time to ponder over why, because that was when they and the monster made eye contact.
"Turn off that noise, monster!" Noah exclaimed, making the monster stop the music, albeit temporarily (and giving Troy and Emma a moment of reprieve).
"No!" the monster shot back, sounding insulted. "I am Field Commander Dizchord, the greatest musician in the world! No one gives me a bad review! Spirits!" Several Spirits appear from the ground in a flash of green. "Teach these haters a lesson!"
He began to play his guitar again, with the Spirits now dancing to the music.
The Rangers summoned their weapons, "Shine Down!"
"Summon Battle Gear!"
Once the weapons arrived, the five charged into battle. Even though the music was giving the Spirits a power boost, Gia, Jake, and Noah had no problems. It was the other two that was the problem, and it soon became obvious that they needed to shut off the music before it was too late.
Noah was quick to see Emma hunching over in pain, Spirits crowding around her and rendering her Phoenix Shot useless. "Emma!" he cried, before firing his Shark Bowgun in her direction. He then raced over to help her.
Meanwhile, Troy's Dragon Sword was missing its mark way too many times for comfort. Spirits dangerously danced around him, but fortunately, Jake quickly jumped into the fray to help him out with his Snake Axe.
Gia watched both of these scenes happen, and Troy was grateful when she took up the mantle as leader (because he currently couldn't; not like this). "Regroup!" she called.
The other four gathered around her as Dizchord leapt down from his perch on top of the building, several Spirits forming a circle around him and dancing to his music. Troy and Emma still struggled with the pain.
"You guys okay?" Jake asked, becoming increasingly concerned by the second. He didn't know what was happening?
Neither of the two answered him, and so Noah turned to Gia, "Lets finish this as quickly as possible. Let's use the Starforce Blaster."
"Right," Gia agreed. "Weapons Combine!" The five Rangers proceeded to combine their respective weapons into their giant crossbow-like weapon.
But what was normally a simple task was seemingly like agony for the two Sky Rangers, with Emma even dropping her Phoenix Shot.
Fortunately, Jake caught it in time, and as he handed it back to her, he urged, "Hang in there, you two!"
"Starforce Blaster!" After inserting their Power Cards, Gia gave the signal to fire. "Dynamic Victory Charge!"
They fired it, but due to Troy and Emma's unforeseen weakness, the blast missed their enemy. The two knelt on the ground, clutching their helmets, with Troy uttering, "We're sorry, guys..."
Dizchord laughed with glee, "And now it's time for my encore. An extra special something from me." He then fired a blast at them from his guitar.
All five of them were knocked back, but Gia, Noah, and Jake easily caught themselves and quickly recovered. Troy and Emma, on the other hand, weren't so lucky. As soon as the blast hit then, they de-morphed and were left writhing on the ground in civilian form.
"Thank you, Rangers!" Dizchord continued. "My power cords knocked you out! It's time to rock and roll over some more humans!" The five watched the monster and Spirits leave the plaza.
But Gia chose not to chase him. Instead, she, Noah, and Jake (still morphed) immediately gathered around the other two, kneeling beside them and helping them sit up. "You guys okay?" she asked.
"We're sorry," Emma quietly said, her step-brother holding her steady. "It's because of us that he got away."
"Don't worry about that," Noah replied. "We'll get him next time."
"We have to," Troy strained. "Before he hurts anybody else..."

Admiral Malkor, Vrak, and Creepox were watching Dizchord's fight with the Rangers on the screen in front of them.
Creepox scoffed, unimpressed, "That was nothing but dumb luck."
"I disagree," Malkor replied. "I find his methods rather effective. His mere prescence was enough to take out two Rangers. It seems that their borrowed Powers do have side effects, after all."
"In any case, he's too full of himself to succeed," Creepox shot back.
"I do agree with that," Malkor said, before turning to Vrak. "I'm sending you out to keep Dizchord on track. Make sure he concentrates on destroying the Rangers."
"What?!" Creepox was noticeably upset. "Why would you choose Vrak over me?!"
"Dizchord's act needs to be reign in with reasoning, not force," Malkor told him. "If he needs a thumping, I'll send you. But for now, I'm sending Vrak."
Vrak bowed slightly, "I won't let you down, Admiral."

Dizchord was standing on top of a building, looking out over the city that was now basked in the orange glow of the setting sun. He was pleased with himself.
"I'm a local sensation!" he squealed.
"What you need is a manager to take you to the big time," came Vrak's voice behing him.
Though surprised at first, Dizchord turned around, and said, "I really like that idea! My talents are too terrific to waste on just one little city. Do you want to be my manager?"
Vrak walked towards him, relying, "That's why I offered. I will make you a big star."
Dizchord spun around, "Excellent! I'm going to be the greatest musician of all time."
Standing very close to Dizchord, Vrak said, "Your music deserves to be heard by the whole world. I can make a device that will broadcast your show to the entire planet. Your music will hit harder than you ever thought possible."

Emma did not get a wink of sleep last night. She still had a pounding headache. Fortuantely for her, she didn't have to walk to school. Jake actually waited for her and drove her there. She didn't know why he would do that. He's never done so before, but she didn't feel like questioning it. Her headache was her biggest concern right now.
The two step-siblings entered the school together, before stopping at Emma's locker. She entered her combination and opened it, putting away her history book (that she didn't even open last night; thanks, headache).
"You feeling better today?" Jake quietly asked. Emma appreciated the fact that ever since the fight yesterday, not once did he raise his voice. "You didn't even eat dinner last night."
"I'm fine, Jake," she managed to give him a gentle smile. "Thank you."
The smile he gave her in response considerably eased up the pain in her head.
"Emma..." his smile disappeared, and so did hers. "Is today the day...?"
He didn't have to elaborate, like everybody would've had him do. She already knew what he was getting at. She simply nodded.
"Yeah, that's what I thought," Jake replied, a sad (almost guilty) look on his face. "Your dad was really quiet this morning."
Just then, a trio of boys dressed in hip hop clothing entered the building, a boom box on the leader's shoulders that was loudly blasting music through the area. Jake immediately saw Emma clutch her head in pain.
"Hey!" he yelled, fists clenched, mentally apologizing to Emma when he saw her flinch in the corner of his eye. "Turn that music down!"
Whether it was out of fear or something else, they fortunately complied and continued walking down the hall. Soon, the music was gone.
"Thanks for all your help, Jake," Emma quietly said, "but I think I'm going to skip today. Can you tell Mom and Dad?"
"Sure," he replied, having every intention to do so, as he watched her leave the school. He knew where she was going, and he knew that she wanted some peace and quiet.
Geez, even normal music was effecting her now.

"Hey, be careful with that machine!" Dizchord called as the Spirits set up the stage. "After our city wide sound check, that thing is going to broadcast my music around the globe!"
Vrak stood a small distance away, "Excellent. Things are going smoothly."
Dizchord started the soundcheck. He played his guitar and sung as the Spirits formed a circle and danced in sync around him.

Four-Leaf Clover Mall, Harwood County, Oregon
It was lunch time, and Troy had managed to get through school until now. His headache was making it difficult, but at least he had Gia, who fortunately understood and made an effort to be as quiet as possible (which honestly wasn't hard for her; she was always quiet).
They were at Ernie's now, having lunch. They had previously decided that they would also work on homework, but Troy's headache was making that impossible, so they just decided to chat.
"So, where are you from?" Gia asked. "You had to move here from somewhere."
Troy smiled in amusement, "Silver Hills."
"I lived in Reefside before I moved here for second grade," Gia replied, her voice soft and silent. Troy suspected that she was quiet here, not because of him, but because of some trauma in her past that she didn't want to talk about.
So, he decided to change the subject, "So, what happened in Martial Arts Club yesterday? I didn't go."
"I noticed," Gia replied. "Don't worry. I told Sensei Kenji that you weren't feeling well. He understood, and he hopes that you'll feel better soon." Troy smiled in gratitude. "I missed you, though. No one posed any sort of challenge to me." His smile got wider, and he felt the pain in his head lessen.
All of a sudden, Ernie turned up his radio, and Troy immediately winced in pain, his headache returning with full force.
"Sorry, Gia," he managed to get out. "I can't stand this anymore." He then stood up and left the mall, passing Noah and Jake on the way out.
"Why is it so loud today?" Jake asked Gia, as he and Noah sat down at Gia's table.
"I don't know," she replied, before turning to Ernie. "Hey, Ernie, could you turn that down?" Out of fear or something else, the man complied. Gia sent him a smile, "Thank you." She turned back to the other two.
"What's wrong with Troy?" Jake asked.
"The music was bugging him," she replied.
"Huh..." Jake said. "Emma had the same problem earlier." He sighed. "Why them? Why were they effected Dizchord, but we weren't?"
"I called Gosei last night, before I went to bed," Noah cut in. "He said that Troy and Emma's domain is the Sky, which means that their Powers also give them Super Hearing."
Oh. No wonder.
It was then that Gia realized something. "This whole Ranger business...is frightening." Noah and Jake were quiet as she continued, "Back in Reefside, I remember when the Dino Thunder Rangers would arrive on time and save the people caught in the crossfire. I was in that situation once, and they saved me. But, I just realized that, as a civilian, you never in any real danger..."
"But now, it's different," Noah caught on. "Back in Turtle Cove, I remember the Wild Force Rangers fighting off the monsters and wondering why. Now that we are Rangers, I know exactly why. We place ourselves in danger so that innocent people don't have to."
"Back in Mariner Bay, I remember witnessing one of the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers go down," Jake added. "Now, two of our own are also down, thanks to their own Powers. It certainly is an eye-opening realization."
The three were quiet, as they pondered over this.
Gia then spoke up, "When that monster comes back, let's not call Troy and Emma. I think they should stay away from this. We can handle this guy on our own."
Noah and Jake both nodded, just as loud music penetrated the walls. Everyone immediately covered their ears. Gia turned to Ernie, "I thought I told you to turn that down!"
But Ernie shrugged, trying to convey (without words) that he was not responsible.
"It must be the monster!" Noah told them just as their Morphers beeped with a message from Tensou. "We have to go, Ernie!"
He led them away from the mall.

"Starforce, Shine Down!" The trio morphed right before they reached the outdoor stage, where Tensou said the monster was.
They stopped and looked around. It was all empty. No one in sight.
"There's no music," Jake said. "Guess we caught them by surprise."
"Don't be so sure about that," Gia warned. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"I agree," Noah cut in. "Stay on your toes."
The trio noticed several Spirits moving a device towards the center of the stage.
"Can we start our worldwide broadcast already?!" Dizchord asked, obviously too excited.
Just then, the three Rangers were shot at from above. Through the light smoke, they looked up to see another monster neither of them had seen before.
"We're glad you Rangers made it," the monster said. "I am Vrak, the mastermind behind this plan. Now, listen as we transmit Dizchord's music and wipe out the whole Land Between!"
Dizchord laughed, "That's my manager!" before starting the concert, singing and playing his guitar as the Spirits danced around.
"And I'll make sure there are no interruptions," Vrak stated, before leaping down and landing in front of the three Rangers.
He charged in first, immediately putting them on the defensive, fighting them off with ease.
The fight didn't last long, and Vrak quickly knocked the three Rangers down. He turned to a Spirit, "Activate the transmitter! Spread his music across the globe." As the Spirit did so, Vrak commented, "Now every hman will get an earful of Dizchord."
As the broadcast was heard throughout the world, Vrak gloated, "I knew I would find your weakness Rangers."

Summer Lake Memorial Park, Harwood County, Oregon
Troy didn't know where he was going, and he didn't really care. He just let his feet lead him somewhere, because he didn't trust his headache to lead him anywhere.
He got a nice surprise when he ran into Emma.
"Hey, Troy," she said. "Are you here because you needed peace and quiet, too?"
"Yeah," he replied with honesty. "But...where exactly is 'here'?"
"Summer Lake Memorial Park," she answered.
"The graveyard?" he asked, before turning to her. "But why are you here?"
Emma was quiet, and her eyes were glued to the ground, as she replied, "My mom is buried here." Troy turned to the gravestone in front of them, marked with the words 'Sarah Goodall, 1975-2010'.
Oh...
"You know that song I was singing yesterday?" she asked. He nodded. "My mom taught me that song. She used to sing it each year when the trees came into bloom. It's probably where my love of nature came from. I sing it every time I get sad, every first day of Spring, and every anniversary of her death. Today marks the fifth year. That's why I'm here."
"I'm sorry for your loss, Emma," Troy was quiet.
"Thank you," she said. "Y'know, people tend to die young in my family. My grandpa died in the Vietnam War, my aunt Trini back in Angel Grove died in a car crash, and my mom died of cancer."
"Will you be sad if you died the same way?" Troy asked her.
"Not really," she answered with a sad smile. "Especially since I'm a Power Ranger now. It's my job to protect people."
Troy was struggling not to cry. "Emma, do you remember our project from last week? The 'Getting to Know Each Other' one?"
"Of course," she said. "It's probably my favorite one I've ever done."
"During our conversation, we came to the realization that both of us are broken in some way." She nodded again, her smile gone. "And you know what? That's okay. Everyone is broken, everyone has scars, and that's okay. Because it just proves that you're human. And maybe, the two of us-the five of us-can all help each other repair what's broken."
Emma smiled at him. Not a fake one. It was a real, beautiful, and bubbly smile.
The moment was ruined when Dizchord's music came back, even louder and more merciless this time.
The two Rangers immediately hunched over, their headaches returning with full force. Troy picked up when his Morpher went off. Tensou was on the other end.
"The monster's music is being broadcasted all over the planet! We can't block the signal!" Tensou frantically told the two.
As Troy listened, his eyes landed on the gravestone in front of them, Emma's mom's grave. "It's okay, Tensou. I just got an idea."
As Troy hung up, Emma turned to him, and asked him through the pain, "What do you have in mind?"
"My headache eased up when you and I were talking just now," Troy explained. "And earlier, there was a moment when I was talking with Gia, and my headache disappeared then too."
"Yeah," Emma replied. "I had a moment like that this morning with Jake." She then understood where he was getting at. "And you got this idea when you looked at my mom's gravestone...you think her song is the key?"
"Only if you sing it," Troy replied. "Our Powers are connected, Emma, and now, so are we. All five of us. We all need to fight him. Together."
Emma smiled and nodded, "Let's do it."

Dizchord continued with his show as Jake, Gia, and Noah continued fighting against Vrak. As Noah guarded a fallen Gia, Jake found himself having a hard time concentrating due to the music.
"You can't win this fight, Rangers," Vrak said before knocking Jake down.
Gia and Noah immediately went over to him, with Noah asked, "You okay?"
Before Jake could reply, Vrak blasted them all off their feet. As they writhed on the ground in pain, Vrak said, "This armor shields me from that horrible music, but you humans have no such protection, not even with your precious Powers that the Land Beyond has given you." He pointed his staff at the fallen Rangers. "And now I will finish you all!"
But he paused when he heard singing.
'La la la
La la la
La la la la la la'
Dizchord stopped singing when he heard this other voice. "What is that horrible sound?" he asked, as the Spirits around him stopped dancing.
'La la la la
La la la
La la la
La la la la'
The three Rangers turned to the voice. "Who's that?" Jake asked.
"Is that...Emma?" Gia asked.
It was. With their arms around each other for support, Troy guided Emma towards the top of the seats surrounding the stage.
'So bloom, bloom and share your sweet perfume'
"I didn't know Emma could sing," Jake commented as the trees nearby blossomed with pink flowers.
"But how can we hear her over Dizchord's amplified music?" Noah asked. "That should be impossible."
'Flowers bloom, bloom so many things to see
The sweet serenity
Soothe my mind, soothe my soul'
Troy wanted to close his eyes. His headache was gone. His mind was at peace.
"Hey! You're ruining by big moment!" Dizchord angrily said.
"Why you?!" Vrak began to run towards the two, but stopped when he was struck from behind. He turned around and glared at the three recovered Rangers.
Troy and Emma watched as Gia and Jake leapt into the air and struck and Vrak with the Tiger Claw and Snake Axe. The two Sky Rangers exchanged a knowing glance and smiled, seeing that their plan was indeed working.
'The gentle breeze
It stirs the leaves and stirs my soul
My heart deep inside me
Sense my worth as one with earth
Of greater whole all connected as one'
As the other three continued to fight Vrak, Troy took out a Power Card, "Windrive: Shine Down!"
The red-colored wind blew the petals off of the trees and onto the stage, amplifying Emma's song. Troy smiled. It was actually working!
'La la la la
La la la la la
La la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la
La la la'
"This song is so horrible!" Dizchord stumbled. "Fine! You want a battle of the bands?! Then you've got one!" He began to play his guitar, but it remained ineffective against Emma's singing.
Together, Noah, Gia, and Jake forced Vrak back, who yelled, "No! You Rangers ruined everything!"
Gia called, "Weapons Combine!"
The three formed together their weapons. "LandSea Blaster! Dynamic Victory Charge!" The combined blast knocked Vrak off his feet and he went flying through the air.
The three looked up to see flower petals floating everywhere. On stage, the petals wrecked the transmitter, allowing all the people around the world to begin recovering. A furious Dizchord tried to play his guitar, but it sparked and the center of it was blown away, leaving Dizchord collapsed on stage.
The three Rangers turned back to Troy and Emma.
'The gentle breeze
Stirs the leaves and stirs my soul
My heart deep inside me
Sense my worth as one with earth'
Noah got an answer to his earlier question with Emma's last line.
'Of greater whole all connected as one'
In that moment, he understood how they could hear Emma, despite Dizchord's music being so loud. It was because all five of them were connected and all together, they had provided the energy to amplify Emma's song.
Dizchord pointed at Troy and Emma, "Spirits! Get them!"
The two held up their Morphers as the Spirits raced off the stage, "Starforce, Shine Down!"
Morphing as they leapt up into the air, the two Rangers easily fought the Spirits off with their respective weapons, destroying them all in a ball of fire.
The other three immediately joined them. "Nice job, you guys!" Jake said.
"You saved us," Noah said.
"It was all Emma's doing. Her singing made the difference. But we're not done yet," Troy motioned to Dizchord as the monster got back to his feet.
"Earth's Defenders, Never Surrender! Power Rangers: Starforce!"
"I'm no one hit wonder," Dizchord said, before firing several blasts at the Rangers, but they managed to block the hits with their weapons.
Then, one by one, the five Rangers struck at the monster with their weapons.
This time, Troy was the one who made the call, "Now!"
"Weapons Combine!" The five Rangers proceeded to combine their respective weapons into their giant crossbow-like weapon. "Starforce Blaster!"
They all placed their respective Power Cards into the Blaster.
"Sky Power!" Troy and Emma called.
"Land Power!" Gia and Jake called.
"Sea Power!" Noah called.
With this, the Blaster charged up, before they fired it together. "Dynamic Victory Charge!"
Dizchord exploded in a great fireball, his lifeless body falling backward onto the stage.
In the near distance, Vrak snapped his fingers, summoning his Zombats, "The show's not over yet, Rangers."
The Rangers watched as the Xombats revived Dizchord into giant sizze.
"I've hit big time at last!" Dizchord said.
"This is your last encore. Don't waste it," Vrak said, before walking away from the scene.
"Let's go!" Troy said, the five taking out their Power Cards.
"Mechazords, Shine Down!"
"Summon Zords!"
After the Rangers all leapt into their mechazords, Troy told his team, "Let's end this jam session once and for all!"
"Get ready!" Dizchord warned. "'Cause this encore will knock you to the floor!"
He began playing his guitar again, and this time, Dragon was affected as well as Troy.
Fortunately, Emma flew Phoenix over and fired and Dizchord, who was hit hard, stopping his music, albeit temporarily.
"Thanks, Emma!" Troy said.
"No problem!" she replied, before holding up her copy of a certain Power Card. "Zords Combine!"
"Summon Megazord!"
Jake and Gia connected first, forming the legs. Troy followed up, forming the torso. Noah and Emma were last with the arms. The head was formed last.
"Gosei Great Megazord! Ready!"
"So you don't get my rhythm," Dizchord said. "Fine. My instrument is going to hit you!" He played his guitar again and explosions occured all around the Megazord. He then charged forward and struck them. "Now, this is hard hitting music!" he commented as he landed several more punches.
But the Megazord struck back.
Dizchord took several steps back and began to play his guitar again.
"Dragon Sword!" The Megazord removed the weapon attached to its back and took out the music waves with one strike.
"Let's fight music with music," Emma suggested.
"Right!" Troy said, before giving the command, "Launch the Zords!"
The Dragon, Phoenix, Snake, Tiger, and Shark Headers detatched from the Megazord, flying at Dizchord. They struck him several times, before turning to their positions on the Megazord.
"Now, let's turn up the heat!" Troy said, motioning the Dragon Header to release fire at their enemy.
"Time to end this!" Gia said, holding up the Victory Charge Card, the other four following suit.
"Victory Charge: Shine Down! On behalf of The Land Beyond, your sentence is destruction!"
"I was supposed to be the best!" Dizchord exclaimed.
"Victory Charge!"
Dizchord was destroyed for the last time, and the Rangers celebrated.

Later that day, after school let out, Emma returned to her mother's gravestone, but she was surprised to see Jake already there. She arrived just in time to see him set down a bouquet of Queen Anne's Lace (they symbolized 'sanctuary'; they were also her mom's favorite flowers).
"Jake?" she asked. He turned around, and she walked closer to him.
"I asked you because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it," Jake replied, as she stood next to him. "She was important to you. And...I get it."
She smiled at him. "Thank you, Jake. This means a lot."
"You're welcome," he replied. His smile quickly disappeared, however. "I'm sorry I've been such a bad step-brother. There were times where you needed me, and I just didn't care enough to help."
"It's okay, Jake," Emma's smile remained. "I forgive you. We can start over."
Jake's smile returned, "Hi, I'm Jake Holling."
"Emma Goodall," the two shook hands. "It looks like we're step-siblings now."
"Yeah," Jake replied. "And despite us getting off on the wrong foot, we have a lot more in common than I thought."
"We sure do."
Jake was quiet, "Wanna sing the song now?"
Emma nodded, her smile not fading. She began to sing, but this time, Jake was singing with her:
'The gentle breeze
Stirs the leaves and stirs my soul
My heart deep inside me
Sense my worth as one with earth
Of greater whole all connected as one'
And in that moment, all was right with the world.

Original Goseiger Episode: Epic 4
Original PRM Episode: Harmony and Dizchord
Note: Troy/Emma's not exactly my cup of tea (not romantically, at least; platonic's more my speed), but I actually really liked writing this chapter. The Rangers are starting to bond in a way that feels natural (hopefully), and Gia is starting to show her skills as Troy's co-leader. Troy and Emma's headaches getting better due to the other Rangers is not an accident (refer to this story's title), and I also fixed some mistakes the canon episode made: The Card Troy uses is actually Windrive, I gave a reason for why Emma's vocals could be heard over Dizchord's amplified music, and I also explained why Troy and Emma were effected but not the other three (which the canon episode kinda glossed over).
The Rangers being from different (familiar) cities, the Emma/Trini connection, and the Warstar/Scorpius connection were all ideas from mpsullivan. Also, Emma and Trini being related isn't out of nowhere for me. In the first chapter of Better Together, I connected Emily, Riley, and Dustin in one scene, after all. Besides, it's called world building, which is important for any story, especially an extended continuity like Power Rangers.
A/N: Review, please. Tell me what you think. If you guys have any ideas you want me to consider adding, or any questions about the story, please PM me. A preview for the next chapter:
Season 1, Episode 4: "The Ice Queen"
"When a Warstar monster with freezing powers hurts her little sister Lily, Gia won't let anything stand in her way while she tracks him down. Not even her own team."
