A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Megaforce rewrite, which I've dubbed "Starforce". I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Megaforce/Starforce or Tensou Sentai Goseiger in any way. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original version.

Power Rangers: Megaforce REDO – dubbed Starforce

Season 1, Episode 11: Off-Color

The Land Below

October 11, 2015

"You want me to take out the Rangers, huh?" Longhornator asked. "I can do that."

"Yes," Vrak replied. "Use these." He held a small bag out to the monster.

Longhornator took the bag from Vrak and reached into it, pulling out a red-colored seed. "Have these been altered? I don't remember the colors."

"They have," Vrak explained. "I simply made them more effective against the Rangers."

"Those Rangers have no idea what they're in for," Longhornator gleefully replied as he poured all the seeds in the bag into his pocket.

Vrak suddenly sense someone behind him and turned around just in time for a green beam to hit the two and scatter them. The blow forced Vrak to a kneeling position.

"Vrak!" It was Malkor, whose temper are growing and sanity was closer to snapping day by day. "I thought I told you to get rid of those pesky Ranger brats!"

"You did, sir."

"Then why are you still here?!" Malkor asked, as Longhornator joined Vrak in kneeling.

Vrak explained, "I was just about to leave, sir. Longhornator and I have a plan to ensure the Rangers' defeat."

Malkor turned back around to face him, "Your plan better work! I want those pests gone!"

"Yes, sir!"

Longhornator nodded his head, "Leave it to me, Admiral!"

"A secret project?" Noah asked.

"Correct," Tensou replied. He had just revealed to existence of something else he was working on.

"Another secret project?" Jake asked, curious.

"The enemy never takes a break," Tensou explained, solemnly. "So neither will I. Besides, my body is robotic and runs on my spirit, so I am not confined to human limitations. I will be fine."

"Tensou," Gosei spoke up, "you said your project was missing something."

"It is," Tensou said. "It's complete, but there's still one component that it needs."

"What's that?" Gia asked, wondering if Tensou would task them with finding this missing component.

"Electric spirit," was Tensou's answer.

"Huh?"

"What does that mean?" Troy asked.

"I don't know, honestly," Tensou replied. "That's what I'm hoping you Rangers can help me with."

But before anybody could put in their two cents, the alarm went off.

Tensou frantically said, "Monster at Hooper Construction Site!"

"We're on our way," Troy assured before leading the five to the mentioned place.

Longhornator's scaring spree was interrupted by a pink-colored wind. The two Sky Rangers landed in front of him while the other three (all of them morphed) escorted the construction workers he was chasing away from the area.

"Rangers!" Longhornator greeted. "Just the people I was waiting for!"

"Attacking people just to call us out here is low!" Jake told him.

Longhornator scoffed, "It's just standard tactics, Rangers!"

"We'll show you tactics!" Noah said, before summoning his weapon. "Shark Bowgun: Shine Down!"

"Summon Battle Gear!"

Longhornator watched this go down, nodding as he did so, before reaching into his pocket, "Yep, I've got a seed for that." He pulled out a blue-colored seed and ate it.

Noah fired his weapon, only for the monster to produce an energy weapon of the same design and purpose and fire it at Noah. The Blue Ranger was knocked back by the force of the attack, flying over his four teammates.

The other four ran to him, concerned, "Noah!"

They all turned back to Longhornator just in time to see the light on his chest fade.

Jake then stood up, his Morpher in hand, "Now you're gonna get it! Snake Headder: Shine Down!"

"Summon Star Headder!"

"No problem!" Longhornator exclaimed, before eating a black-colored seed.

Jake hooked up the Snake Headder to his Blaster, "Snake Star: Set! Full Blast!"

The light on the monster's chest glowing again, this time creating an energy version of the Snake Headder and sending the blast at Jake instead.

"Jake!" Gia cried out.

"He copied both attacks!" Noah noted.

"Then, let's try this!" Troy stood up. "Dragon Sword: Shine Down!"

"Summon Battle Gear!"

Longhornator simply laughed, "Ha! Believe it or not, Rangers, but I have one for that too!" before eating a red-colored seed.

Now armed with his Sword, Troy leapt up into the air, as Longhornator's chest light produced for a him a replica of the Dragon Sword, only blue like himself.

"Dragon Sword!"

But Longhornator stopped his attacked with his own sword. He proceeded to block all of Troy's strikes, before landing a few of his own.

Emma immediately ran to him, "Troy!" as the monster started laughing again.

"Might as well give up, Rangers!" he said. "I have a seed for every attack you throw at me!" He then struck at the Rangers twice, making an X shape.

The resulting explosion knocked the Rangers to their feet.

"You copycat!" Jake cried, as the five tried to get up.

"He's not just copying," Noah told them. "He copying and then sending them back at us with twice the power."

"Then how do we stop him?" Emma asked.

Troy responded by saying, "By finding an attack that he doesn't know we have!" He then placed a Power Card into his Morpher, "Comprethunder: Shine Down!"

"SPARK!"

Longhornator merely scoffed, "And that one looks like..." He dug around in his pocket for the corresponding seed, only to discover that he didn't have it. "W-Wait!" He immediately started panicking.

Troy raised his Morpher into the air, and out shot a beam of light that went straight into the air. From it formed dark clouds that sparked with red lightning. Troy then brought his Morpher down, and the clouds shot down red lightning, which hit Longhornator dead on.

The resulting explosion forced the monster to the ground.

"Nice one, Troy!" Emma cheered. "That was awesome!"

"So he doesn't have one for Comprethunder," Noah noted. "That's good to know."

"I didn't know you guys could do that..." Longhornator whimpered.

"Keep it going, Emma!" Jake urged. "Comphrethunder is a Sky Card after all." He nudged her forward.

"W-Wait, but-!" Emma tried to explain. "I-I don't actually know how to use it..."

"Huh?!" The other four immediately turned to her in disbelief.

Emma tried to explain through her panic, "I-I'm trying! Honest! I'm just not good at it!"

Troy stepped in to comfort her, "That's okay. I'm more than willing to perform Comprethunder as many times as it takes." He pulled out the Card again and turned back to their fallen opponent.

Only to find that he had escape.

Emma fell to her knees, her helmeted head in her hands, in guilt.

Vrak fell to the ground, in pain, as Malkor viciously blasted him as punishment.

"Vrak!" Malkor was angry. "How dare your prodigee make a pathetic attempt after all your boasting!"

"But fight is not over yet, sir," Vrak weakly attempted to explain.

"Such declarations are losing their punch with every failure!" Malkor said. "Give me results or the price will be your head!"

Vrak finally got to his shaky feet, "Y-Yes, sir."

Emma sulked in the corner, trying to work through her guilt, as the others tried to formulate a plan for the next time.

"We almost had him, didn't we?" Jake asked. "I bet one more hit would've done the job."

"Whatever the case," Noah stepped in quickly, as he saw the ball that was Emma tighten, "we need to be ready for the next time." He sat down next to Emma. "You said that you were learning, Em. Right?"

She didn't look at him, but she did nod.

Noah looked at Troy, who immediately understood what Noah was trying to get at.

"I can teach you, Emma," Troy offered. Emma finally lifted her head and stared at him. "Is that okay with you?"

He could tell her what she was doing wrong and help her fix it.

Emma vehemently nodded, before standing up. She then grabbed Troy's hand and led him outside the cave.

She didn't want to let the team down again.

The duo were at Troy's secret training area, both of them still in civilian form. Emma placed her copy of the Comprethunder Card into her Morpher, "Comprethunder: Shine Down!" before raising it into the air, with a "Ha!"

She knew Troy was expecting Gosei's voice to shout 'SPARK!', but it never came.

After a beat of silence, Emma lower her arm that held the Morpher as Troy asked, "So that's what usually happens when you activate it?"

He noted Emma's unusually sad and depressed demeanor as she answer with a solemn, "Yeah." She turned to him, "What am I doing wrong? Is it the stance?" Her eyes told Troy something incredibly interesting, and rather frightening.

That, at this moment, he had the power to hurt her more than any monster they had ever faced.

This meant he had to choose his words carefully, "No, no, your stance is fine. I suspect it's something beyond the surface."

Emma's sad face noticably lit up, though not by much, as she pondered, "Maybe it's because I need something to protect." Troy shrugged. That's not what he was thinking, but it was worth a try, and he wouldn't stop her from experimenting. Emma activated the Card again, "Comprethunder: Shine Down!"

Still nothing.

Emma hung her head, her spirit starting to weaken, "If it's not that, then what's the problem?"

Troy knew that she was mostly asking herself, but he still chose to answer, "I think I know."

She immediately turned to face him, "What? What is it?"

Troy took off his leather jacket, "Take off your jacket. We're going to spar."

"I thought you said the problem wasn't physical," Emma said.

"It's not," Troy reassured her. "Do you trust me?"

Emma paused very briefly, but answered this by taking off her denim jacket without another word.

The two got into fighting positions, and Troy let Emma throw the first punch.

She did, and Troy immediately floored her.

As he got off of her, she pouted, "That wasn't fair."

"There's no such thing as a fair fight," Troy replied. "And I'm not going to go easy on you. So there's no use holding back."

Emma wordlessly got to her feet as she sent him a glare.

This time, she went in for a kick to swipe him off his feet, but he jumped up to easily avoid them before throwing a punch in her direction. The force knocked her back, though not hard enough to draw any sort of blood or form any bruise (they were still teammates, after all).

Emma growled in frustration before punching the ground and demanding, "Why are you doing this to me?!"

But Troy remained calm. "Your enemy won't wait for you to get up. To win, Emma, just tell yourself the same thing you tell others."

"It's going to be okay."

Troy watched as Emma's eyes widened with surprise, before she closed them, and took a deep breath, choosing to stand and let Troy get the first strike this time. He took this chance and aimed a fully charged punch at her, but this time was different.

This time, she floored him.

Once he was on the ground, her eyes widened in surprise again. She got up, and offered a hand to help Troy on his feet too.

He took it, and as she did so, he asked softly, "Do you understand now?"

It was something she gave to others all the time, but she never gave it to herself, not once. And in order to use Comprethunder, she needed to.

Emma softly smiled (a real smile) and nodded.

He returned the smile with one of his own, "Good. Remember that, and you can do anything you set your mind to."

Just then, their Morphers went off, signaling the return of Longhornator.

~S~A~N~C~T~U~A~R~Y~~~P~O~W~E~R~~R~A~N~G~E~R~S~~S~T~A~R~F~O~R~C~E~~~M~E~G~A~F~O~R~C~E~~R~E~D~O~

The Rangers were, once again, fully morphed when they faced off against their enemy.

"This time, Rangers, I'm fully prepared for whatever you throw at me!" Longhornator taunted.

"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Troy said, before beginning the rollcall, "Fury of the Dragon, Starforce Red!"

"Flames of the Phoenix, Starforce Pink!"

"Venom of the Snake, Starforce Black!"

"Claw of the Tiger, Starforce Yellow!"

"Bite of the Shark, Starforce Blue!"

"Earth's Defenders, Never Surrender!" All five announced, "Power Rangers: Starforce!"

The monster laughed, "Go ahead and try your trump card again! I dare you!"

"Just as we planned," Noah said. "Let's go!"

The five charged forward. Jake threw the first punch, with Gia and Noah not far behind him.

"I see!" Longhornator said as he dodged their attacks. "If you can't use your powers, then you use your bare hands!"

Troy and Emma stepped back from the fight, as Jake and Gia aimed a double punch at the monster, who ate a red-colored seed.

This produced his Dragon Sword replica, which allowed him to block the double punch before striking at the three that were keeping him occupied.

Eventually, Noah caught the sword with his hands, keeping Longhornator in place long enough to let Gia and Jake land surprise attacks on him with their weapons. The monster stumbled, allowing Noah to kick him over the Blue's head and sending him to the ground a few feet away.

Noah then turned to Troy, "Troy, now!"

But Troy didn't move, "Nah. Emma's got this." He then looked up at the top of the nearby fountain, where Emma was standing, her Morpher in hand.

"You bet I do," Emma said. "I do understand what Troy was trying to say, completely. Everybody I meet always has something going on, something they're sad or nervous about. And I always tell them that 'everything's going to be okay'. With this, I can instill confidence within them that can carry them through anything, but the one person I haven't given confidence to...is myself."

She had lost a lot of things when she lost her mother. Her self-confidence was one of them. And Troy had helped her get it back.

"Now, Emma Goodall holds no more fear," she continued. "Now, not even the sky is out of reach!" She placed the needed Card into her Morpher, "Comphrethunder: Shine Down!"

What Troy immediately noticed was amount of power her voice held now as she said those three words.

And then came the Morpher's voice, saying "SPARK!", and Troy knew that she truly did understand his lesson.

She raised her Morpher into the air, and a pink beam of light shot into the sky, from which dark clouds formed, sparking with pink energy.

"Yes!" Jake cheered.

"Go, Emma!" Gia encouraged.

By this time, Longhornator had sat up, "Oh, so you've mastered that technique. Sorry, but so have I." He then produced a gold-colored seed and ate it.

Emma then brought her Morpher down, the clouds shooting down pink-colored lightning.

But this time, Longhornator had a counter for it. The light on his chest glowing before producing gold-colored lightning that immediately clashed with Emma's attack.

Emma's surprised caused her control over her attack to disappear, and the monster's lightning hit her, sending her to to the ground, next to the fountain below.

As the other four ran to check on her, Longhornator scoffed, "Now I'm untouchable!" as Vrak revealed himself.

Vrak spoke up, walking closer to Longhornator's side, "We suspected you Rangers would try to formulate your plan around the fact that he didn't have a seed to correspond with your Comprethunder technique." Noah, Gia, and Jake all rushed forward, weapons raised. Vrak continued, "I've taken the liberty of studying your Cards, Rangers."

"You studied our powers?" Gia asked.

"Yes," Vrak explained. "Longhornator here eats seeds to give himself to temporarily give himself vulnerability to enemy attacks. All I did was make a few modifications to those seeds and grant him the ability to use attacks identical to the ones stored within your Cards."

"I was in trouble earlier," Longhornator added, "without a proper lightning seed."

"But I compensated for that, as you Rangers can tell," Vrak said.

"So he wasn't just copying us," Jake growled.

"And now he knows how to use all of our abilities?" Gia said. It was more of a statement than a question, though.

But the monster replied anyway, "Exactly! All of your abilities no longer work on me! So give up, Rangers!"

Emma, however, had a different idea, and she held up her Comprethunder Card again, "You may have studied our Cards, Vrak, but there's still something you don't understand!"

"She's right!" Troy added, before helping Emma to her feet. "We don't just place Cards into our Morphers and expect them to work! There's a lot more to it than that!"

"While one's self-confidence is strong," Emma asked, "what happens when you combine two?! We're a team! Strong separately, but always stronger together!"

This was a question, yes, but it was rhetorical.

The two held out their Comprethunder Cards, which then flashed with an upgrade. Now on the cards where their Ranger avatars, the Pink Ranger on Emma's copy and the Red Ranger on Troy's.

The two worked together this time, "Comprethunder: Shine Down!"

"SPARK!"

The two raised their Morphers high into the air, and the clouds that formed where darker. The two lowered their Morphers, allowing red and pink lightning to shoot down from the sky.

"It's still useless!" Longhornator said, before eating two lightning seeds.

His doubled up lightning attack was a strong opponent for the two Sky Rangers.

"Keep going!" Emma urged.

The Red and Pink Rangers were both surprised when Jake and Gia called out, "Sparquake: Shine Down!"

And then Noah called out, "Wavecharge: Shine Down!" And Emma smiled.

One was strong. Two was stronger. But five was unbeatable.

All five lightning strikes easily overpowered Longhornator, and Vrak cried out, "NO!" before the resulting explosion forced both of the monsters back.

Longhornator rolled along the parking lot pavement close by, while Vrak was seemingly nowhere to be found.

The five Rangers regrouped, and Emma said, "Now for the finisher!"

"Right!"

But before they could do anything, they were stopped by Vrak, "Not so fast!"

Vrak leapt in and struck at all five of them, forcing them to the ground. He then shot a blue energy ball at them, causing the five to be sent flying farther away.

As their weapons all hit the gorund with a clang, Vrak walked closer to them, as an injured Longhornator joined him, "This is the end for you, Rangers. Say your last goodbyes."

"No!" Emma replied, defiantly.

"What was that?" Vrak asked.

"I said no!" Emma continued, slow getting to her feet, "No matter what you say, we will never give up! Not as long as we still breathe!"

Emma's confidence allowed the other four to find their own and get to their feet.

"She's right," Troy added. "No matter how many times we fall, we will *always* rise again!"

Just then, Emma's belt buckle glowed, and she reached in and pulled out a blank card which then started to glow. "W-What is this?"

Over their Morphers, Tensou's voice rang out, "You did it, Emma! You did it! You found the eletric spirit!"

So this was Tensou's new project, and that's what the missing component was. How apt and fitting that the Rangers had faced a monster that forced them to acquire it in order to defeat said monster.

The card shine once again, before it faded to reveal what this new Card was for. "Mystic Brothers?" she read. She then placed it within her Morpher, "Mystic Brothers: Shine Down!"

It seemed to have no effect, leaving Vrak and Longhornator chuckling, but then, in the distance, green lightning shot down from the sky. From it arrived a big green mechanical ostrich.

The Ostrich Zord.

The Ostrich ran towards them, avoiding Vrak's blasts as it did so. It then shot out green lightning at the two monsters, sending Longhornator flying and Vrak to his knees.

"Wow!" the Rangers couldn't help but marvel.

The Ostrich then kicked Vrak away from the area, sending him far, far away. Ostrich then turned around and kicked the egg on its back towards Longhornator, destroying him.

Ostrich played soccer ball with the egg, before letting it land on its back again, as the Rangers cheered.

Just then, the Zombats came flying in and brought Longhornator back, but giant size.

"You Rangers will pay for this!"

"Time for another beatdown!" Emma said, the five taking out their Power Cards.

"Mechazords, Shine Down!"

"Summon Zords!"

After the Rangers all leapt into their mechazords, Troy told his team, "Let's do this!" before holding up his copy of a certain Power Card.

"Zords Combine!"

"Summon Megazord!"

Jake and Gia connected first, forming the legs. Troy followed up, forming the torso. Noah and Emma were last with the arms. The head was formed last.

"Gosei Great Megazord! Ready!"

A crash to their left told them that the Ostrich had grown even bigger with them, now at the size of one of their Mechazords.

"Pesky bird!" Longhornator said. "I'll turn you into fried chicken!"

The Rangers watched as Ostrich shot green lightning at the monster once again, sending him stumbling back.

"So..." Jake asked, "do we just sit here?"

Then Ostrich cawed, obviously trying to tell them something.

Something that Emma understood, "No! It wants to combine with us!"

"Emma, you can understand it?" Gia asked.

"Yeah!" she nodded. "I think it's because I'm the one who summoned it."

"It's alright," Troy assured them. "Let's give it a shot."

"Activate Mystic Star Megazord!"

The Ostrich reformed itself before attaching to the left shoulder of the Megazord, where Emma's Pheonix was.

"Then you'll all roast together!" Longhornator said, before firing his lightning at them.

But the Megazord charged through the explosions, using the Dragon Zord to block each strike, before Troy motioned the Ostrich attachment to start spinning. This hit the monster repeatedly, before he was struck down to the ground.

"On behalf of The Land Beyond-" Troy began.

Emma finished, "Your sentence is destruction!"

"Mystic Strike!"

Ostrich's egg broke into two pieces and circled around Longhornator before closing in on him. When it hatched, it revealed the monster turned into an egg, before he exploded.

The Rangers cheered as Ostrich detached itself from the Megazord and reformed into, well, an Ostrich shape.

It was a long day, and the Rangers decided to get froyos. Emma and Gia were waiting for Ernie to finish their order, as the guys all worked on homework together.

Gia was quick to notice Emma's line of sight, and where it landed. So the blonde leaned in closer, "What'cha thinking about?"

"Oh nothing," Emma calmly replied. "I'm just thinking about Troy, and how he gave me my self-confidence back."

"Yeah, it's liberating, isn't it?" Gia asked, smiling. She's always had hers.

"Mm-hmm," Emma nodded, "but Troy...he's so unique, and he always understands me. There's just something about him that interests me."

Gia's smile widened, "Emma, you wouldn't happen to have a crush on Troy, would you?"

Emma's face immediately turned red, "W-What?! No, of course not! I'm just grateful!"

Gia's smile turned from knowing to assuring, "Em, you can trust me. And besides, there are worst people in the world to have a crush on. Y'know, like Jake." Emma stiffled a giggle at this. "Trust me, Troy's on the good spectrum."

Emma giggled again, before turning her face back to Troy.

To be honest, she wasn't sure if she really did have a crush on him or not, and frankly, at this point, she didn't care.

She was just glad to have him in her life.

Original Goseiger Episode: Epic 13

Original PRM Episode: N/A

Note: Noah's Wavecharge Card is completely fanmade, since Goseiger (and by extension, Megaforce as well) didn't have a Spark card for the Seaick Tribe. Also, the Mystic Brothers Card appeared to the Red Ranger in the original, even though it was a Pink-centric episode.

Is Emma developing feelings for Troy? Maybe. Do I plan to explore that topic again in the future. Definitely.

This chapter being similiar to Chapter 5 is not an accident, since in that episode, Noah goes through the same issue that Emma does.
