Down on the planet, the clock had just stricken midnight in Harwood Country, and nearly everyone woke up to a sudden shockwave. Many people looked out of their windows, only to see nothing at all. Nothing but the night sky.

Some went back to sleep. However, others were too alarmed and stayed up for the next hour or two.

Up above the atmosphere, however, a spaceship had arrived. Vrak entered the main room to see the ceiling completely absent from Admiral Malkor's chamber, and Malkor himself looking at the planet Earth.

"Admiral," Vrak said, "the jump from the Land Below to the Land Between has been successful."

"I can see that," Malkor replied. "At least you were useful for once."

Vrak wisely chose not to say anything.

Malkor continued, "Each and everyone of my Field Commanders has been taken down by those pesky color-coded brats." His fists clenched in anger, and immediately, he began to glow a bright orange.

"Admiral..." Vrak realized, "this light is..."

"Oh, that's right," Malkor said as the light faded. "You haven't seen that form before. It is my true form, one I can use without fear of holding back. Vrak," he turned around to face the other, "this is your final chance to do me proud. You have an important role in this plan. You must not fail me, or my vengeance will be swift."

Vrak knelt in front of the other, "I will not let you down this time, Admiral."

Malkor turned back to Earth, "Then, let us begin."

Harwood County High School, Harwood County, Oregon

It was the seventh and final period before Malkor finally made his move.

Mr. Burley was currently giving a lecture on telescopes, "The first known practical telescopes were refracting telescopes invented in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 17th century, by using glass lenses. They were used for both terrestrial applications and astronomy." He walked towards a telescope set up by the window. "I have brought one from home as an example. Allow me to show you all how it works. First, you must set it up in a way that gives you a clear view of what you would like to see. Then you look through it," he did so, "and adjust the lens so as to get a better view on the object..."

But then he trailed off as he looked through the microscope.

"Mr. Burley?" someone asked, snapping him back to reality.

"Oh, my apologies," he quickly said. "I thought I saw a UFO."

As murmurs of disbelief sounded throughout the room, Noah stood up from his seat and walked to the front of the room. "If I may?" he asked, and Mr. Burley nodded and stepped aside. Noah looked into it, and his next words sent the class into a panic, "No, he's right. There's a UFO, right there. Strange...it's hiding behind a cloud, and it's super low to the ground."

He himself started to panic when the strange object began to move, getting away from its cloud cover completely.

"Why is getting closer to us?!" he asked, fear clearly lacing his voice. He felt a little better when someone tapped his shoulder, and he turned around to see the other four Rangers standing behind him. Gia was the one who had tapped him, and he stepped aside to let her look.

Unlike Noah, Gia was rather calm. To be honest, he appreciated it.

"You're right, Noah," she said. "It is getting closer. In fact, it's close enough now that you no longer need the telescope to see it."

The entire class looked out the window to see that strange object slowly descend into the planet's atmosphere, until it eventually stopped, in plain view for all to see.

Just then, someone asked, "Hey, is it getting harder to breathe or is just me?", a hand to their chest, as if in pain.

"You too?" Their friend said.

"We need to get out of here," Troy whispered to the other four, "and call Gosei."

The other four immediately nodded their acknowledgement.

But before any of them could move, two buildings in the distance suddenly disappated, and a holographic image appeared in the sky immediately afterwards, as did a familiar face that started speaking.

"Greetings, lowly residents of the Land Between," he said. "This is your final warning."

"Malkor!" Jake whispered in surprise, and all five Rangers were immediately on the defensive.

"I am Admiral Malkor of the Land Below's Warstar Faction. I will just come right out and say it: I am here to destroy this ream and everyone living in it. You pathetic humans have twenty four hours remaining before I eradicate all life in this realm and on this planet."

"Look!" another student cried out, and everyone looked where they were pointing in time to see another two buildings bite the dust, quite literally.

"Are we all just...gonna die, then?" yet another student asked.

Malkor continued speaking, "I have begun to process of stealing all of this planet's oxygen, a process that will end in precisely twenty four hours. Enjoy your remaining hours, humans, and spend your last moments wisely."

The holographic image disappeared, signaling the end of his speech, and Noah immediately pressed a button on his watch, starting the twenty-four hour countdown.

Just then their principal spoke up, "Attention, staff and students. Due to sudden circumstances, I have approved the next twenty four hours being school free. Please, return home, everyone, to your families, and be safe."

Once her message was done, everyone immediately ran out of the school after grabbing their bags, nearly all of them in a panic, and some of then crying. The five Rangers, however, met up in the computer room (Noah's most common hang-out), which was fortunately empty.

Once Emma, the last person to enter the room, closed the door, Troy immediately got out his Morpher, "Gosei, we've got some big trouble here."

"I am aware," Gosei replied. "Apparently, the five of you have enraged Malkor to such an extent that he intends to finish you off himself."

"Where is he now?" Noah asked.

Tensou was the one who answered, "City Square, rooftop of a business building. I'll teleporting you all there now."

After a moment, multi-colored waves of energy teleported them to the mentioned sight.

City Square, Harwood County, Oregon

Malkor watched as more buildings crumpled up and floated into the sky, reveling how well his plan was working, "Just sit back and watch, Rangers, as your realm falls apart."

He then sensed five more prescences on the rooftop behind him, and he heard the Red Ranger call out, "Turn around and face us!" He didn't have to turn around to know that all five were fully morphed.

"And who can that be?" Malkor mocked. "Sure not the Power Rangers."

"Be ready for anything," Troy warned his team.

"But you heard my announcement, did you not?" Malkor asked. "Life in this realm is about to be completely eradicated."

"Fat chance!" Jake cried, before he and Gia leapt into the air.

Both landed a punch on him, but it did no damage. Malkor had easily blocked it. Just then, his eyes lit up and power surrounded him, knocking the two away from him. Jake and Gia hit the ground hard.

However, Noah leapt over them, and placed a Card in his Morpher, "Presshower: Shine Down!"

"SPLASH!"

The wave headed straight towards Malkor, who simply scooped the water into his palm and created a sphere of water. "Interesting," he commented, before throwing it back to the Rangers.

An explosion immediately engulfed the Rangers as they were hit with their own attack.

But through the explosion leapt Troy and Emma, their weapons in hand. Emma fired her Phoenix Shot before Troy landed in front of Malkor and began fighting him. Emma quickly joined him.

Malkor knocked Emma away before grabbing Troy by the throat, "Begone, pests!" he then tossed Troy towards the other four Rangers.

Troy managed to catch himself, however, and all five fired their Blasters at Malkor, who easily blocked the shots, commenting, "Better, but still not good enough."

He then blasted the Rangers off their feet by sending their own shots back at them.

As the five of them struggled to get up, Malkor gathered energy for his ultimate attack, "Planetary Strike!"

The force knocked them all off the roof, and they landed on the street below, all five of them de-morphing on impact.

"He's so strong..." Noah muttered.

Malkor's voice then sounded from the rooftop above them, "Don't worry, Rangers. I will not execute you just yet. I am graciously letting you live just long enough to see the end of your pathetic realm."

Troy tried to stand up, only to collapse immediately after, and soon, all five of their individual worlds suddenly went black, as more crumpled up into the sky.

Star Cave, Harwood County, Oregon

October 15, 2015

Troy awakened not long after to the all-familiar ceiling of the Star Cave. Tensou was tending to Emma's injuries when Troy weakly called out, "Tensou? Gosei?"

"Oh, you're awake, finally! The others woke up before you, so I was getting worried," Tensou cried out in relief, but he didn't move from Emma's side. "How are you feeling?"

"Defeated," Troy admitted. "We never expected him to be so tough. How long have I been out?"

"Seventeen hours," Noah was the one who answered, while looking at the timer on his watch.

"Yes," Tensou agreed. "People around the planet have begun to pass out. Without oxygen, no one can breathe, and nothing can grow. The situation is truly terrible."

"Then, how are we okay?" Jake asked.

"This base, as well as the powers you have been given," Gosei was the one who explained, "serves as a safe haven and a barrier. But, seeing as you all are still human, it won't last long. You must hurry if you are to stop Malkor and save the Land Between."

"How?" Gia asked. Funnily enough, she was the only one sitting up. "You saw how strong he is. We don't stand a chance."

"She's right," Jake agreed. "If we go out there, he'll just end up beating us again. What's the point?"

"Guys..." Emma softly spoke up, for the first time, "we can't give up now."

"Emma is correct," Gosei agreed, before explaining, "Think of your families and loved ones. Think of things you enjoy doing. Think of sights you love to look at. Now, keep all of those in mind as you realize that if you Rangers give up, none of those things will exist anymore. The Land Beyond has provided all the assistance we can. Now, you must go on by yourselves. This is your fight, after all. You are humans, but you are this realm's last hope."

The cave was quiet as the five Rangers thought hard about those words. Gosei found it interesting how each of them had different ways of showing it, but they were all clearly thinking.

"He's right," Troy said, before getting to his feet. "If we give in this easily, no one else will stand up in our place. It has to be us."

Jake sighed, "I wish you weren't right, Troy. But you are." And he stood up as well.

Gia also got to her feet, "And if we fail, at least we'll have gone down fighting."

"We won't fail," Emma offered a gentle smile, she and Noah also standing. "Because I believe in us. We've come a long way since that very first fight as Rangers. We've learned to set aside differences and entrust our very lives to each other."

"And not once did we fail in that aspect," Noah agreed. "We are all still alive, after all. So let's do this."

Tensou suddenly beeped, "Malkor is at the ruins of Fairview Station."

Troy turned back to his team, "You guys ready?"

"Ready!"

Fairview Station, Harwood County, Oregon

Malkor turned around to face the Rangers as they raced up to him.

"You pests are persistent, I'll give you that," Malkor muttered. "To be honest, I thought you all had given up."

"To be honest," Gia slyly sent his own words back at him, "we thought about it, and decided that it just wasn't our style."

"Be careful what you say," Malkor said. "As you humans are painfully aware at this point, almost all of the oxygen is gone."

Which was true. It was getting rather difficult to breathe now, even if Gosei said their powers would protect them for a little while.

"Oh, we're aware," Troy shot back. "But just because the air is getting thin doesn't mean that we're not a force to be reckoned with. It's Morphin' Time!"

"Starforce: Shine Down!"

After a multi-colored flash of light, the Rangers were now fully morphed and ready to fight until their very last breath.

"Earth's Defenders, Never Surrender! Power Rangers-"

"Starforce!"

The Rangers charged forward, each using their bare hands. But Malkor easily blocked them, first knocking down Troy. Emma landed a kick before she and Noah followed suit. Jake and Gia tried to attack together, only to be thrown aside.

The five of them landed on the ground together, and Troy, Emma, and Noah all fired their Star Blasters at their opponent.

But he blocked each shot with his weapon, "Try again." He laughed before using his weapon to blast them. "Seriously, are you pests that weak?" he asked, as all five charged at him, their individual weapons in hand.

All five quickly found themselves on the ground, and Noah was quick to fire his Shark Bowgun at Malkor, who, once again, blocked the shots with his weapon, before using said weapon to blast Noah off his feet.

As Noah was sent flying, Troy got to his feet, and tried to attack in unison with the other four, but Malkor had quickly blasted them all off their feet with his weapon, and all five landed on the ground hard.

"A valiant effort," Malkor praised them, a rare sight to be honest, "but ultimately useless." He charged up his energy once again, "Planetary Strike!"

There was still no sure way to avoid that attack, so the Rangers were hit regardless.

Malkor laughed as the five hit the ground, "How many times must I defeat you, Ranger pests? A hundred? A thousand?"

"Keep counting," Troy cooly responded. "You picked the wrong realm to attack."

"Says who?"

"Says us and everyone we're fighting for," Troy said as he got to his feet. "You honestly think this is just about us, but this is our realm, our planet, we're fighting for. Our home. Everyone we know and love. We will never bow to you."

Troy then charged forward towards Malkor, his Dragon Sword in hand. The two's weapons clashed, and despite all the hits Malkor was getting in, Troy kept standing.

Eventually, Malkor knocked Troy off his feet. He then raised his weapon, "Stay down, you pest!"

But his attack was blocked by the other four Rangers, who then managed to strike Malkor down, all together.

"What?!" Malkor exclaimed.

"Our cause is just and that's our real power, Malkor," Troy said, all five Rangers standing steady before their foe. "That's why we'll win!"

The five charged together, and the fight continued. All five Rangers worked together. When one dodged an attack, another stepped up, and it became a cycle.

But Malkor still found it easy to block their attacks.

Jake and Gia struck at him, but he quickly knocked them both to the ground. Noah and Emma followed up and tried their best to attack, but he easily blocked their moves with his weapon before striking them down.

Troy stepped in, and after blocking a strike, Malkor taunted, "Don't you know? Might beats right!" He then knocked Troy to the ground, but the Red Ranger managed to land a hit anyways.

After doing so, the other four Rangers charged back in, but Malkor blasted them off their feet.

The five immediately put their weapons together, "Weapons Combine!" The five Rangers proceeded to combine their respective weapons into their giant crossbow-like weapon. "Starforce Blaster! Energize!" With this, the Blaster charged up, before they fired it together. "Dynamic Victory Charge!"

But Malkor found himself able to block that, before sending a blast of his own power right back at them.

But through the flames, the Rangers charged towards him, their weapons ready.

Emma and Noah jumped up and fired their weapons, while Gia and Jake went for a frontal attack. The two then stepped back at let Troy get in the last strike.

They did it. They finally hurt Malkor, but it was far from over. All five of them knew that.

"Well played, Rangers," Malkor told them. "But I'm not letting you take me down so easily. Zombats!"

The six bat-things flew around, before he grabbed one and began to eat it.

The five Rangers all made gagging noises, and Gia even commented, "Ew, disgusting."

But eating caused Malkor to grow to giant size, and once large enough, he shouted into the sky, "Vrak! Proceed with the plan!"

Upon on the base-turned-spaceship, Vrak replied, "Moving in." He then piloted the ship and let it get closer to the surface.

Back on the Earth's surface, Jake asked, alarmed, "What are they planning on doing?"

"The oxygen we have collected from you humans is being stored on our base," Malkor explained to the Rangers. "Vrak is currently piloting the ship on a crash course, and when our base meets the surface of your planet, it will go off like a bomb."

The base, or ship, was coming into view now, descending at an alarming speed.

Troy's fists clenched into tight balls, before he grabbed his Morpher, "We have to do this, guys. It's now or never."

"Mechazords, Shine Down!"

"Summon Zords!"

After the Rangers all leapt into their mechazords, Troy told his team, "Let's do this!" before holding up his copy of a certain Power Card.

"Zords Combine!"

"Summon Megazord!"

Jake and Gia connected first, forming the legs. Troy followed up, forming the torso. Noah and Emma were last with the arms. The head was formed last.

"Gosei Great Megazord! Ready!"

Troy turned to the sidelines, where Tensou had been waiting the entire time, "We need you now, Tensou!"

"Right!" Tensou suddenly grew the Megazord's size, holding his Hyper Headder, before announcing, "Activate Hyper Data Megazord!"

He gained gloves and new boots, and the Headder became his new face.

"You need to stop that ship," Emma said. "The Mystic Brothers will help!" She placed the Card into her Morpher and activated it, "Mystic Brothers: Shine Down!"

The green Ostrich Zord came out of the Card and it immediately ran towards Tensou, reforming to create a propeller for Tensou to use.

"Good luck, Tensou!" Troy said, before turning back to his team. "Now, let's do this!"

"Right!"

The Megazord raised the Dragon Sword, before charging in, as Tensou helicoptered up to the Warstar ship.

The following fight with Malkor was mostly one-sided, and with the Rangers on the receiving end of the brutal beatdown.

He struck at the Megazord and down it went.

"We need something else," Troy urged, before motioning the Megazord to stablize.

Meanwhile, Tensou used the Mystic Brothers' upgrades to try and shoot down the ship. But he quickly realized that his attacks weren't doing anything, "What? That's impossible!"

"Keep fighting!" Troy urged, before giving the command.

"Launch the Zords!"

The Dragon, Phoenix, Snake, Tiger, and Shark Headers all detatched from the Megazord, flying at Malkor.

But before they could hit their target, Malkor opened up his wings, which began to glow with orange energy, and his new powers allowed him to easily destroy the Zords.

"What?!" Emma cried out. "No!"

"He just vaporized our Zords!" Jake exclaimed in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Vrak sent out a burst of lightning that caused Tensou and the Mystic Brothers to separate, and sending Tensou down to the ground.

After Tensou landed right beside the Rangers, Malkor immediately struck the Megazord down with his weapon, "And now, I will show you no more mercy!"

He then shot lightning at them, and sparks flew into and around the cockpit.

"Now, Vrak!" Malkor cried into the sky. "Crush what's left of these pathetic Rangers!"

On the ship, Vrak smirked, "My pleasure!"

Back on the ground, The Rangers were getting desperate now that they and Tensou were on the losing side.

"This is the end for you, Rangers!" Malkor said. "Say goodbye!"

"I saw we give him a different ending that he wants," Gia told the others.

"I'm with you," Jake agreed. "There must be something we can do."

"Whatever it is, count me in," Emma added.

"Any ideas are welcome!" Noah cut in.

Fortunately, Troy had an idea right off the bat, "Let's combine our Power Cards to create one big, new one."

"Right!"

Just then, all five of their Power Cards combined to create a giant card-shaped portal.

"It worked!" Emma cried, happiness filling her voice.

Out from the portal flew all the Headders, the main five, plus the nine Brothers and Tensou's Hyper Headder, and their combined power destroy Malkor's weapons and wings.

"What?! Impossible!"

"He's lost his wings!" Troy said. "Tensou, let's go! Now's our chance!"

"I'm right behind you!" Tensou replied, as he and the Megazord both stood back up.

The five Rangers placed new, identical Cards into their Morphers, "Zords Combine!"

Tensou found himself doing a handstand, and the back of him immediately connected with the back of the Megazord. The five main Headders connected to the chest, and the nine Brothers connected to the other ports. Finally, the Hyper Headder became the new hat, so to speak, for the Megazord.

"Hyper Gosei Great Megazord! Ready!"

"Let's destroy them both at the same time!" Troy commanded.

The five immediately put in the other Cards, "Victory Charge: Shine Down!" Four streams of energy Cards immediately pinned Malkor by his wrists and his ankles, and lifted him up into the air, before pinning him to his ship. "On behalf of The Land Beyond and The Land Between, your sentence is destruction!"

"Hyper Headder Strike!"

All of the Headders immediately flew at Malkor, destroy both him and the ship in one attack.

On the now failing ship, Vrak commented, "So, Warstar was a failure, after all." And he managed to teleport away before Malkor and the ship were completely destroyed.

The Rangers erupted into cheers as the Warstar ship, and base, exploded, never to be seen or be considered a threat every again.

On the same rooftop Malkor was occupying the day before stood the Rangers (de-morphed), and Tensou, as they watched the oxygen slowly return to the planet, as well as the buildings that were reduced to dust.

"You sure about this, Gosei?" Noah asked. "Their memories will be gone."

"The alternative is having innocent people remember the trauma they went through during the last twenty four hours," was all Gosei had to say. His comm was playing through Tensou's robotic body.

"Gosei's right," Troy told his team. "No one deserves to remember that. Everything will be okay, as long as we don't forget."

The other four nodded in agreement.

He and Emma placed a Card into their Morphers, "Memoryfly."

Jake and Gia placed their own version of it into their Morphers, "Memorybury."

Noah finally placed his own version into his Morpher, "Memorywash."

"Shine Down."

"EXPAND!"

As soon as they activated the mentioned Cards, yellow and white sparkles flew from their Morphers and surrounded the entire planet. The sparkles disappeared, signaling that the Cards worked, just in time for the first few people to wake up, all of them having regained the ability to breathe.

"I still can't believe that we actually won," Jake commented.

Over the comm still, Gosei spoke up, "Your plan at the end only worked because you all collectively decided to rely on your own strength, rather than a second, higher power. You have proved yourselves to be independent, both physically as well as mentally. The Land Beyond as well as Tensou and myself are all very proud of you."

All five couldn't hide the smiles that resulted.

"Thanks, Gosei," Troy replied.

"However, I must warn you now," Gosei continued. "There are more factions that will rise up in Warstar's place. Celebrate your victory, but be on your guard."

"We were afraid of that," Noah commented, ever the pacifist. "But it does make sense."

"Yeah," Gia agreed. "This fight is far from over."

That went for their test as well, Gosei mentally added. As far as the five had come already, The Boss was still waiting for something.

There will be different arcs and different villain factions in power at different times. However, this arc, as you see down below in the preview, is not quite over yet.
