A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Dino Charge rewrite. Again, don't be alarmed that this chapter like the one in canon (save for a few changes). They will be more and more different down the line. This episode in particular, however, has one big change to it, and it's very obvious (all you have to do is read the preview).
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Dino Charge or Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.

Power Rangers: Dino Charge REDO
Season 1, Episode 03: Caged In
Brindalyn Canyon, USA
100,000 Years Ago
Koda tapped away at the cave walls of Brindalyn Canyon, working on his drawings. As he chopped away, some of the wall crumbled and a small blue crystal caught his eye. Using his tools, he managed to free it and it fell into his hand. He held it up to examine it.
He didn't understand what this thing was, but he knew it was valuable. Especially since it seemed to have a voice of its own, as it was giving him a calm 'hello'.
Just then, he heard a growl from outside the cave. He paused to listen. When he heard silence, he dismissed it just as he heard the growl turn into a snarl.
When he heard a young cry of "Koda!", and he immediately raced out of the cave, grabbing a spear on the way.
He found his little brother, Taku, waving his torch defensively at a sabretooth tiger that was growling at him.
Koda didn't think, instead letting his instincts take over, as he tackled the tiger off the cliff.
The tiger was gone and Taku was safe, but Koda was falling and he would no doubt die when he hit the bottom.
"Taku!" he cried.
He was cut off when the blue crystal in his hand suddenly glowed and blue energy seeped into his body.
"Koda!" Taku screamed as he watched, from above, his brother glowed blue, but the glow got smaller and smaller the farther down his brother fell.

Koda jerked awake from the memory the moment he heard a strange growling sound. Was there a sabretooth tiger in here?
He hated that nightmare with a burning passion. All it did was remind him of what he left behind, of the last time he saw his brother, of what happened to bring him to a brand new time period.
He heard the growling again, and he immediately leapt out of bed, shaking, grabbing a clug as he glanced around, cautiously.
He backed out of his cave and into the lab area. The growling sounded behind him, and he immediately turned around, ready to swing his club.
"Sorry," came Kendall's voice. "We didn't know you were still sleeping."
Koda glanced around to see Kendall standing in front of him, and behind her were Shelby, Tyler, Riley, and Chase standing around a lime-yellow colored bike.
"Kendall-" Shelby stopped herself as Kendall turned to glare at her, before correcting herself. "Sorry, Miss Morgan was just showing us our new Dino Cycles."
Koda backed away cautiously, obviously unsure, and Chase responded with, "Come on over, Koda, and take a squiz."
Tyler, Shelby, and Riley all looked over at the Kiwi, confused, "A squiz?"
"Yeah," Chase replied, as if it was obvious. "A squiz. You know, a look?" They just continued to stare blankly at him, and he rolled his eyes, "Ugh, sometimes I wonder if I'm speaking English."
"Me too," Riley sassed, smiling.
"Ha ha," Chase sarcastically remarked, before turning back to Koda. He pointed out several features of the bike, "It's got everything from laser blasters to energy scanners," he got on the bike, "but its main feature, Koda, is that it's really fast."
He revved up the bike, and a scared Koda immediately leapt into action and hit the front tire with his club.
Chase stalled the bike, scared himself, as everyone else immediately told Koda to relax.
"S-Sorry," Koda apologized. "My instincts say...danger."
"You don't have to apologize," Shelby softly replied. "We get it. Where you're from, anything that makes a strange sound is a threat."
A cellphone suddenly went off, and Koda quickly turned around and smashed it with his club.
Shelby suddenly gasped, upset, as the phone was pink and clearly hers.
"Sorry, Shelby," Koda apologized again.
"It's...it's fine, Koda," Shelby replied, her words clashing with her feelings, as it was obvious that it wasn't fine.
"Koda has grown accostumed to morphing into a Ranger," Kendall explained, "but..."
Koda finished with, "Some modern things still give me..." he searched for the right word and continued, "nervous."
"Sorry for scaring you, mate," Chase walked over to Koda and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, "but you need to relax. And I know just the person who can help with that."
"Don't you think he should learn to ride a bike first?" Riley asked.
"Yes," Chase replied, "but will it stick with him if he can only focus on his fears?"
Riley wisely chose not to answer.

So here the two were, Chase riding his skateboard while he watched Koda attempting to ride a bike, a children's bike at that.
"You're doing great, Koda," Chase encouraged. "Just keep moving."
Koda nodded, before some kids passed them on their own bikes (without training wheels) and laughed at him.
"Hey!" Chase yelled after them.
Just then Koda lost control of his bike and crashed, head first into the grass. Chase stopped, cringing, as Koda spat some grass out of his mouth.
They both looked to the source when a girl started giggling. Wearing rollerblades, she leaned over Koda, smiling, and asked, "Ye alright there?"
Koda gratefully took the hand she offered him, and as she helped him to his feet, Chase said, smiling, "Koda, this is Callie McLoughlin. Callie, this is Koda Tohca."
Looking at her up close, Koda was immediately relaxed by her gentle smile.

Old Deboth Castle, Amber Beach, California
"CURIO!" Poisandra immediately wrapped her little sister in a tight hug.
"I'm glad to see you too, Poisandra," Curio melted into the pink monster's hug.
"It's been too long!" Poisandra cried, not letting her sister go. "65 million years without you was torture!" She then said, "Besides Wrench." She went back to her rant, "I missed you so much!"
Curio giggled, as she could see Wrench pump his fist in victory, and replied, "I missed you too, Sis."
Sledge entered the throne room after surveying the state of the old castle, trying to see if anything had changed during their absense, "The castle is still in good shape, Curio. Well done. Can I assume that you were the one who sent out Iceage?"
Poisandra refused to let go of Curio, so the latter decided to just let her sister keep hugging her, "Yes. We got word that the Pink Energem had surfaced there, and I didn't know if Fury was already there or not. He was really bad at maintaining contact." Sledge here glared at Fury, who was shrinking in fear, while Poisandra was obviously smirking (having warned Fury that Curio would tell them the truth). Curio noticed this, but continued like she didn't, "So, I sent Iceage to retreive it, but when he returned without any Energems and with word that the Energems had bonded to people, then I told him to attack the Rangers. I don't understand how they were able to defeat him, though. He was at full power!"
"That's why the Rangers are a threat," Sledge replied. "Don't feel bad for not getting an Energem, Curio. Your primary mission was looking after the castle until our return, and you did a wonderful job."
Curio smiled and buried herself in Poisandra's hug, as Wrench spoke up, "Master Sledge, while we were outside, fixing the castle's comms array, Curio and I came across another Inner Monster."
"Really?" Sledge asked, intrigued.
"Yes," Wrench replied, before opening a side door and calling inside, "Slammer, come on out."
"Is it time?!" Slammer asked, before racing out of the door and stopping in the middle of the room. "Can I finally catch some criminals?!"
He was obviously excited, and Sledge observed, "You are the Inner Monster of a young boy who fears never seeing his incarcerated mother again."
"Am I?" Slammer asked. "Makes sense. I am itching to catch some bad people!"
Curio spoke up, "I have an idea on how we can use his cages to capture the Energems."
"No one can escape me!" Slammer cut in. "I never miss!"
"Interesting," Sledge commented. "Very well, Curio. I will place you in charge on his mission."
Curio slightly bowed, before tapping Poisandra, motioning her to release the hug, but Poisandra wouldn't let go.
Slammer, however, grabbed Curio and ripped her out of the pink monster's grip, "Let's go, Lady Curio! Those Ranger criminals won't catch themselves!"

The three were resting on the usual bench that Chase and Callie sat on, and just as Chase had predicted, Koda was relaxing more and more the longer time he spent with Callie.
"Ye're a caveman?" Callie was smiling. "That's pretty cool."
"You not surprised?" Koda asked, confused.
"Not really," Callie admitted. "I've seen weirder things." Both Rangers knew she was talking about Iceage and the Vivizords. "So, what's wrong?"
Koda tilted his head, confused, and felt all over his body, "Nothing wrong. I feel fine."
Callie just smiled softly, "I meant mentally, Koda. Not physically."
Koda sighed before saying, "Learning to ride bike is hard."
"No worries, mate," Chase told him. "It takes time to figure it out."
"It's not just bike, though," Koda continued. "Many things I not used to. Like TV." He remembered smashing the TV with his club when Dracula (as Chase had named him) appeared on the screen. "And comb." He remembered struggling with combing his hair. "And glass." He remembered slamming face-first against a glass door while carrying a tray with smoothies.
Apparently, Chase remembered this too, because he winced.
Callie replied, however, "Yeah, I guess this time period must seem pretty strange ta ye. But it's a lot deeper than that. Ye miss someone, don't'cha?"
Koda was surprised at how correct she was, but he answered, "Y-Yes. Sometimes, I feel l-l-l..."
He cut himself off, trying to find the right word. Fortunately, for him, Callie found it, "Lonely?"
"Yes..."
"I understand that," Callie said. "I mean, I'm all too familiar with the feelin' of wakin' up one day and suddenly yer entire world's changed. But that's the beautiful thing about havin' friends: it means ye don't have ta suffer by yerself, aye?"
Koda smiled, just as the sprinklers came on in front of them. An obviously frightened Koda jumped up, causing him to fall backwards, falling off the bench.
Chase threw up his arms in slight frustration, as he and Callie both stood up and walked over to their fallen, scared friend.
"Relax, Koda," Chase gently said. "They're just sprinklers. They keep the grass fresh and green."
Koda was upset with himself, "Why me? Why am I here?" Why did the Blue Energem choose him, a caveman?
"Hey," Chase said, placing both hands on Koda's shoulders. "Callie's right. Right here, right now, you've got nothing to worry about."
All of a sudden, Chase reacted to something behind Koda (something Koda couldn't see), moving fast, and pushed Callie out of the way. She landed on the ground aways from him just as a metal cage slammed down on top of them.
"Chase!" Callie cried out, as she got to her knees.
"Watch out, behind you!" Chase warned, before he and the cage vanished into the thin air.
Koda and Callie turned around to see a monster walking through the park, several people scared and running away from him. Callie noticed a friend of hers, Peter, not run away, but instead collapse as if he was sick.
Slammer laughed, stating, "One Ranger locked up! Time to give him a cellmate!" Another cage formed in his hand and he dangled it before swinging it around, "You're getting a life sentence! Without parole!" He then threw the cage in Koda's direction.
Callie ducked as Koda used the bench to launch himself and kick the cage away in mid-air.
Koda grabbed a nearby shovel from the wheelbarrow of a construction worker and charged towards Slammer, as Callie ran to check on Peter.
Peter was a young boy, about ten years old, with red haired and freckles on his face. He went to Callie's special school, because he had dyslexia and issues with reading and writing properly. Callie had first met him when she was his tutor the first year he was here.
She knelt at his side and helped him into an upright position, "Are ye alright?"
Peter coughed and replied quietly, "No. I don't understand...I was feeling fine until that monster showed up."
Koda struck Slammer with the shovel as he asked, "Where is my friend?!" He then kicked Slammer with both feet and fell flat on his back.
As Koda quickly got back to his feet, as Slammer replied, "You'll be joining him soon."
As Koda continued to fight Slammer with the shovel, Callie turned to Peter, "Ye need ta get ta safety." She ushered him to his feet and pushed him to the tree line.
"Wait, my bike!" Peter protested.
"Leave it," Callie urged. "It'll be fine. Ye need ta get somewhere safe."
Slammer knocked Koda to the ground, "Stop trying to break out before you're even in!" He then charged towards Koda, who kicked him away. Koda landed hard but quickly got back up as Slammer continued, "The smart thing to do is come quietly. But you're not very smart, are you?" Slammer produced and swung a cage from his hand.
Koda turned in time to see Callie push Peter towards the forest. She turned back to the fight, only to see Slammer release the cage and watch it fly towards her and Koda at an alarming speed.
"Watch out!" Koda yelled out as he leapt in front of Callie to cover her, only for the cafe the capture them both.
Slammer laughed out loud, "Two's double the fun!", as the cage vanished, and Koda and Callie with them.

Seaside Cave, Amber Beach, California
Chase didn't know where this cave was. He didn't really have the option to explore and find out, because this cage was sturdy and wouldn't break, no matter how many times he punched it, kicked it, or shook it.
Within moments, another cage appeared, and in it were Koda and Callie. Koda immediately tried to break out of the cage, but Callie wasn't moving.
"I tried to morph," Chase quietly told Koda, "but I can't." He watched as Koda continued to struggle. "Even you can't bend these bars?" Chase quickly glanced back at Callie, who was still lying on the ground, unmoving. "Hey, Koda. She okay?" He nodded his head towards the Irishgirl.
He could've called out to Callie directly (and he normally would have), but he didn't, because Koda was the one trapped with her.
Koda immediately knelt down at Callie's side and asked, "You okay?"
"No," she whimpered. Koda noted that she was hunched over, holding her right leg, as if it was in pain. "I think my leg's broken."
"Koda, I think you have an opening," Chase said. Koda turned to see a kid's bike. Callie turned to the sound when she heard rustling very close to her, and she was immediately thankful she told Peter to leave his bike behind.
Because the cage had landed on it, creating a rather large dent in it that Koda found himself easily squeezing through after removing the bike. After freeing himself, he then carefully helped Callie out of the cafe, trying not to accidentally hit her leg.
Koda set Callie by some rocks, "Hold still."
Callie nodded, as Chase said, "It's really dark in here. I can barely see a thing." In that moment, Koda had made a torch, with part of his shirt wrapped around the tip. "Wow, you've got to teach me how to do that."
Koda gave the torch to Callie, "Hold, please. I think she need doctor, Chase."
Callie nodded and grabbed the torch, and Koda used his vest to male a splint for Callie's leg, as Chase brought out his Dino Comm. She then commented, "Seán's gonna have a heart attack when he sees this," motioning to her leg.
Koda stopped, mid crafting, confused, and asked, "Who Seán?"
Chase replied, "Her elder brother," still trying to make a call through his Dino Comm.
This stuck deeply with Koda, as he realized that even if everything else changed, siblings would always be constant. He placed himself in Seán's shoes and deduced that he would also have a heart attack if Callie was suddenly injured without warning.
He had to get Callie out of here.
Chase hung up, "I can't make a connection. There must some kind of field jamming our equipment."
Koda hung his head as Callie said, "Sorry, Chase, I can't hear ye. My hearing aids aren't working for some reason."
She was thankfully looking directly at him, so Chase signed to her, 'There's a field blocking all electronic signals.' When he was done, she nodded in understanding.
By this time, Koda had finished the splint, and he took the torch back from Callie, who asked, "Which way?"
"The wind will show us," Koda replied, holding up the torch to the wind. Just then, a gust of wind blew against the flame, and Koda noted the direction. "This way."
Callie nodded and slowly, but eventually, climbed up on Koda's back. Once he was carrying her piggyback style, Koda stood up and walked over to Chase.
"I get Callie out, then I come back for you."
"I trust you, Koda," Chase replied, "to keep her safe. Good luck."
Koda nodded and left in the direction the wind had showed him.

Kendall walked into the Cafe and directly up to the counter. It was a slow hour, so she wasn't concerned about having to call them away.
She was concerned, however, about Koda and Chase.
"Shelby, Riley, Tyler," she motioned them to come over to her. Tyler, who was in the kitchen as a cook this shift, came closer to the counter that Shelby, the waitress, and Riley, the cashier, were standing in front of. Once they were close enough, she lowered her voice, "Have any of you heard from Chase or Koda?"
Shelby shook her head, "Chase doesn't have a shift today, remember?"
Riley added, "And Koda doesn't even know what time is."
"True," Kendall said, "but neither of them are answering their Dino Coms either." The trio glanced at each other in concern, before Kendall ordered, "Tyler, Riley, you two take the Dino Cycles. Their scanners will allow you to cover more ground. Shelby, cover their shifts and join me in the base as soon as you're done."
They all nodded, before going off to do the tasks they had just been assigned to do, with Shelby glad she only had ten minutes left in her shift.

Callie looked up when Koda quickly turned his head, pausing momentarily, before continuing on. Concerned, she asked him, "Are ye alright? Is that monster from the park chasin' us?"
"Most likely," came Koda's answer.
Callie leaned back against Koda's shoulder, as she admitted, "Without my hearin' aids, I can only hear ye right now, because ye're close enough. So, I'm leavin' all the sounds I can't hear entirely ta ye."
"Okay," Koda said, before setting her down on a rock. He took a piece of his shirt and held it up to some water dripping from the ceiling. Once it was entirely wet, he went back over to Callie and rubbed the cloth on her (rather heated) forehead. "You remind me of person I miss, Callie. His name is Taku, my little brother. I protect him, and I protect you, because you are...special to Chase, and now I see why. He no want to lose you, so I protect you he cannot. I promise." Koda held up a fist.
He had a little brother, so Koda could easily place himself in her own brother's shoes, Callie realized. And he had lost his brother in the storm of time and was now essentially all alone, as in the only one in his current coat.
Callie returned the fist with a bump from her own, as well as a smile.

Slammer exploded in anger when he saw one of the cages empty, "What?! A jailbreak on my watch! That Ranger is more clever that I thought!" He picked up the destroyed bike on the ground and threw it to the side. He took out his anger on the bike, yelling, "I'll crush him!"
Chase needed to get out, so he said, "Y'know, I'm pretty clever too. Let me out and I'll show you."
Slammer walked up to his cage and stared Chase's cold glare down, "You want to show someone? Show Sledge!" Chase backed away slightly, as the monster continued, "He'll eat you for breakfast! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Ranger to catch."
Slammer stormed away, and Chase sighed in defeat. So much for trying to keep Slammer occupied.
He tried his best not to outright panic, choosing to instead put all his faith in Koda, as he warned, "Watch your backs, mates."

The moment Tyler picked up the magnetic field on his Dino Cycle, the base picked it up as well, due to Tyler currently being there. He and Riley had gone in separate directions.
"Miss Morgan, do you see this?" Tyler asked over the comm.
"Yes, we do," Kendall replied. "Strange readings."
Shelby read the data from Kendall's laptop, "This field has been built to block all electronic waves, or so the data says. Maybe that's what keeping Chase and Koda from communicating with us."
"Or even from morphing," Kendall added, realizing what must have happened. "They have to get outside." She called Riley over the comm, "Riley, meet us at the coordinates Shelby's sending you. Chase and Koda may be in trouble."
"On my way," Riley said before hanging up, as Shelby typed the said coordinates into the laptop.
Kendall turned to Shelby when she was done, "Shelby, let's go. Grab Tyler's keys."
Shelby nodded, and the two left the base, with Shelby grabbing Tyler's keys on the way out.

Seaside Cave, Amber Beach, California
Koda was climbing up a wall, with Callie hanging into his back, when he turned around upon hearing Slammer's angry voice echoing, "You won't escape me!"
Koda continued to climb, until he stood up on solid ground, only to come across two paths.
Callie looked up when she felt Koda stop, again. Once she saw the branching paths, she understood his dilemma, "Which way?"
"I do not know," Koda admitted.
Callie reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. After pulling up the GPS, she handed it to Koda, "Sorry fer springin' this on ye, Koda, but ye're goin' ta have ta learn quickly. We can't make any connection, but the GPS may still work." Koda put out the torch and looked at the phone screen. "Ye see that arrow right there?" Callie pointed at the thing she mentioned. "That is us."
After looking at the map for a couple of seconds, he picked a path, and they were off once more.
The path led them to a tunnel, which Koda crawled through, Callie still on his back as Koda clutched the phone in his mouth. When there was finally enough room to stand, Koda stood up careful, and he pointed Callie to the view he saw beyond the opening in the cave wall in front of them, "Look."
Callie smiled. They were almost to the exit.
Just then, a couple of blasts were fired from behind them, which, fortunately, Koda managed to duck in time to avoid.
"Hold still!" Slammer shouted, very near to them now. "I won't hurt you! I'll destroy you!"

Shelby pulled up to the base of the mountain (the coordinates) in Tyler's Jeep, with Kendall in the passenger seat. As they got out of the Jeep, they noticed that Riley and Tyler were already there, their Dino Cycles off and docked, the two guys themselves un-morphed and waiting, as well as surveying the scene cautiously.
Shelby ran up to them, and asked, "Any sign of them?" as Kendall followed close behind her.
"The Dino Cycles' scanners indicated that they may be trapped in that cave," Riley said, as he and Tyler pointed at the nearby cave.
Kendall and Shelby followed their gaze, just in time for them to see a battered Koda carrying a brunette haired girl on his back out of the cave.
As he reached them, Kendall immediately asked, "Koda! Are you okay?!"
"Yes, I am fine," Koda replied, before setting Callie on her feet as he handed her over to Kendall, "but she not. Take her to hospital. Her leg hurt bad."
Now that Callie was out of the cave, her hearing aids were back in working order. That means she clearly heard what Koda just said. She knew that she was slightly delirious, but she immediately protested, "But Chase is-!"
Koda gently cut her off, "No worry. We get him out." He took her phone out of his back pocket and handed it back to her. "You just call brother." She immediately stopped struggling. "He very worried."
Koda had a point. Seán must be very concerned by now. He often texted her every hour. If she didn't respond by the next hour, then he'd give a call, and if she didn't answer that call, then he'd start putting together a search party consisting of himself and his friends. She didn't know how much time had passed, but she needed to hurry and let him know she was okay.
"Okay..." She quietly replied, before letting Kendall help walk her over to the red Jeep on the sidelines.
Once Kendall and Callie were out of range, Tyler asked Koda, "Was that Chase's friend, Callie?"
"Yes," Koda replied, "and Chase still trapped in cave."
"By who?" Shelby asked.
"Him," Koda nodded, glaring, to the monster above them on the cliff above.
Slammer was swinging a cage around, "Hey, Rangers! Thanks for coming! How about you stay awhile?! Or in this case, forever!" He swung his cage before throwing it at them.
But Koda stepped in and angrily caught the cage, before throwing it to the ground, dragging Slammer down with it, down to their level.
"It's Morphin' Time!" Koda said. "Dino Charger!"
"Ready! Energize, ha! Unleash the Power!"
"Power Rangers, Charged!" Tyler began the roll call. "Tyrannosaurus Rex, Power Ranger Red!"
Koda went next, "Stegosaurus, Power Ranger Blue!"
Riley went next, "Velociraptor, Power Ranger Green!"
Shelby finished it up, "Triceratops, Power Ranger Pink!"
"Dinosaur Might, Ready to Fight! Power Rangers: Dino Charge!"
Slammer rose up a Vivix squadron, commanding, "Vivix! Destroy those candy colored twits!"
The squadron ran past Slammer and towards the four Rangers.
Koda took on one half of the Vivix, using his caveman strength to pound them all into dust.
Shelby, meanwhile, took on the other half, using her powerful kicks push them and disorient them.
Meanwhile, Tyler and Riley took on Slammer. After Tyler performed a double kick, in mid-air, Riley used his Dino Saber to land a hit, before leaping back.
"Just accept it, Rangers!" Slammer said. "Escape is not possible!" He then shot lightning from his hands at Riley, who charged through it, before using his Saber to land a solid strike on the monster.
Slammer was knocked to the ground, and Tyler got on his Dino Cycle and told Riley, "Hey! Let's try out the Battle Mode on these things!"
Riley followed Tyler's lead, getting on his own Cycle, "Roger that!"
From opposite directions, Tyler and Riley both charged at Slammer on their bikes. Slammer cried out, "I'll lock both of you up!", before using his lightning on both of them.
But neither was hit.
Riley activated a green Charger and placed it into his Dino Saber, before activating the switch on it.
"Raptor Charger, Engage!"
"Power Slash!" As Riley charged past Slammer on his Dino Cycle, he struck at the monster hard with his Saber.
Tyler followed up by placing one of his own Chargers into his Morpher, and spun the barrel.
"T-Rex Charger, Engage!"
"Dino Morpher Blast: Final Strike!" Tyler fired multiple times at Slammer, until the monster was destoryed.
Tyler and Riley stopped their Cycles and hopped off. Riley indulged Tyler in his excited high five, as the Red Ranger commented, "Now, that was awesome!"
"Good job!" Shelby said, as she and Koda re-grouped with them.
"Hurry!" Koda cut in. "We need to save Chase!"
"Right!" The four Rangers started to run in the direction of the cave entrance, but immediately stopped in their tracks, when Slammer grew into giant size while surrounded by a familiar green glow.
On the cliff below Slammer, yet above the Rangers, Curio waved at her monster, her watering can in hand, "You owe me for this! Now, destroy those Rangers or you're the one who will be locked up!"
Curio left in a cloud of stars, and Shelby commented on Slammer's positioning, "He's blocking the cave entrance!"
"Then, we'll just have to destroy him first," Tyler said, before pulling out another red Charger, Koda and Shelby following.
"Dino Charger, Ready! Summon Zords!"
Tyler called, "Activate Dino Charge Megazord: TriStego Formation!"
"Battle Mode: Engage!"
With that, the Megazord hopped before landing behind Slammer and grabbing ahold of him. While trio in the cockpit were struggling to maintain their grasp on him, Tyler called out to their friend on the ground, "Riley, it's time to try out your Zord!"
Riley couldn't deny his excitement, "Yes! I've been waiting for this! Dino Charger, Ready! Summon Raptor Zord!"
A moment passed, before Slammer called out, "Jail break!" right as Raptor appeared on the scene.
"Guess again!" Tyler said, as Raptor used his tail to slash Slammer. The Megazord let go of the monster, and Tyler continued, "Now, for a brand new combination!"
"Activate Dino Charge Megazord: StegoRaptor Formation!"
Tricera left the formation, only for Raptor to take her place. However, in the cockpit, Shelby remained, while Riley merely joined the other three.
Riley looked around after landing on his platform. After Tyler greeted him, Riley commented, "Wow, it's so cool in here!"
"Your Zord very strong," Koda told him.
"Let's see what we can do together," Tyler said, as Riley placed his Morpher into his podium.
"Bladed Raptor Slash!"
As the Megazord used the Raptor blades, Shelby instructed her Zord, "Tricera, quick! Go save Chase!"
And Tricera took off running towards the mountain, before turning around to use her drill tail.
Within the cave, Chase was sitting on the ground, still trapped in the cave, still trying his best not to have a panic attack, still choosing to stay calm.
Keeper had advised him more than once to put more trust in his teammates, and after seeing how clever and competent they all clearly were, Chase had decided to start taking that advice seriously.
He trusted Koda to take Callie to safety, to get the other Rangers aware of what was happening, and to defeat Slammer, who was clearly somebody's Inner Monster.
He trusted them to handle this without him.
His train of thought when he heard the sound of drilling. He looked up just in time to see Tricera having successfully drilled a hole through the cave wall, as well as a hole through the cage itself, giving him a clear path to freedom.
Chase smiled at this, and said, "Thanks, Tricera."
Outside the cave, Slammer managed to land a hit on the Megazord's side. The Megazord caught itself before it fell, fortunately, and turned around in time to see Tricera returning to the battlefield, roaring in victory. Down on the ground, they could see and un-morphed Chase slightly limp out of the cave.
Shelby cheered, "You found Chase! Good job, Tricera!"
"Let's finish this!" Tyler said.
Riley agreed, "Right!" and led the group.
"Raptor Zord: Final Flame Strike!"
The head of the T-Rex Zord provided the flames and the Raptor blades used to enhance its power. One final slash and Slammer was destroyed for good.
Tyler announced, "Monster Exctinct!"

Crystal Kay Park, Amber Beach, California
May 30, 2017
The next morning, Tyler drove his Jeep to the park's parking lot, with Chase in his passenger seat, and Koda, Riley, and Shelby in the back seat. Chase pointed Callie out to the others the moment he saw her. Koda hopped out of the Jeep and went to the back of the Jeep, where a new kid's bike was attached.
Callie wasn't that far away from them, but she didn't seem to have noticed them yet. She was instead talking to Peter, a smile on both of their faces.
"You were captured by the monster?!" Peter asked.
"Yeah," Callie softly replied. "It was pitch black in the cave, but he made fire with his bare hands so we could see the way. Then he carried me under boulders and through cracks. It was dangerous, and if my brother ever found out about it, he'd have an aneurism. But fer Koda, it was no problem at all."
"So he was...like a caveman?" Peter asked.
Callie smiled, "Yeah, I guess ye say that."
Riley and Shelby both turned around and smiled at Koda, knowing how true it was. Koda, in return, was smiling as well, but more out of being flustered.
While Koda unhooked the bike from the back, Chase admitted to the other three, "To be honest, I don't really care if Callie figures out the truth or not. I just want her to be safe."
"That's understandable," Shelby replied. "She was caught up in yesterday's whole mess with Slammer, after all."
"Yeah..." Chase quietly trailed off. "If Koda hadn't been there, things would've gone south so fast."
"Don't dwell on the past, Chase," Riley advised. "She's safe now. That's all that matters."
"Right," Chase replied. "Thanks, guys."
Tyler, Shelby, and Riley smiled at him in return. As Tyler placed a comforting hand on Chase's shoulder, Koda walked up to Chase, and asked, "You ready?"
Chase nodded, "Yeah," before he undid his seatbelt and hopped out of the Jeep.
The two males stayed close to the Jeep, with the bike safe in Koda's gentle hand, and they heard Callie ask Peter, "So how are ye feeling today, Peter?"
"Much better," Peter replied with a big smile. "I feel more energized than I ever have. I got to see my mom yesterday, and I think that helped. She apologized for her mistakes, but she promised to be out as soon as possible."
Callie smiled, "That's good. Everything will be okay." Peter nodded and let her hug him.
"Callie?" Chase cut in.
Callie turned around and immediately smiled brightly, "Chase!" She got up from the bench she and Peter were sitting on, and limped over to Chase, before enveloping him in a big hug. "I was so worried about ye!"
"I'm fine now, Callie," Chase quietly replied. "I was worried about you too."
Callie reluctantly let go of Chase to address Koda, "Hey, Koda! I never got ta thank ye fer saving me. And yer boss, Kendall? She was very comforting while I was waiting for my brother to arrive."
"You are welcome," Koda replied, returning her smile. "Oh, how is leg?"
"Oh, it's fine," Callie revealed. "It's just sprained. And don't worry, I didn't mention a cave or cage ta Seán at all. I lied and just said I fell down the stairs. He still had heart attack, though."
"I'm curious," Riley suddenly cut in, "as to why you didn't tell him the truth. Everyone's aware of the monsters that attack the city."
"If Seán ever found out that I was attacked by a monster," Callie explained, "he would never let me out of the house ever again. Trust me, that is no joke."
"I think the bike protected your leg somewhat," Chase suggested.
Callie shrugged, "Either way, I'm just thankful I can still walk."
"Oh, speaking of bike," Koda was reminded by Chase's line just now, "I have present for..." He trailed off, not knowing the boy's name.
"For Peter?" Callie asked. "That's great, Koda. He's a little upset that he doesn't have a bike anymore, but this will cheer him up." She turned around to the boy, who was still sitting on the bench, "Hey, Peter! Come on over here!"
Peter got up and quickly joined Callie at her side, "Yeah?"
"You know the man who saved me?" Callie asked. "This is him. Peter, this is Koda. Koda, this is Peter."
"Hi!" Peter greeted.
"Hi, Peter," Koda said, before revealing the bike the Rangers had bought for him. "I brought you a bi-bicy-" he struggled to say the word.
Fortunately, Callie helped him out, "Bicycle?"
"Yes!" Koda said.
"Thank you," Peter replied, stepping forward to check it out. "Hey, can I ask you something?" Koda nodded. "I saw you trying trying to ride a bike yesterday. You don't know how, do you?"
Embarrassed, Koda answered, "No. It a bit scary for me."
"Yeah, I was scared at first, too," Peter admitted. "But dont worry, after you learn, it's easy peasy." He then got an idea. "Hey, I know. I could teach you!"
Koda immediately backed up, obviously reluctant. He shook his head before turning to Callie and Chase for help.
Callie held up her fist for him to bump, "Don't worry, Koda. I'll protect ye. I promise."
He was immediately reminded of Taku, his little brother, the one he left behind. He then smiled and returned her fist bump.
He then took Peter's helmet from him (who offered it to him) and got on the bike. Peter gave a little push forward, as he advised, "The most important thing is to keep on pedaling. You have to move forward and else you'll just fall over."
Though wobbly, Koda started pedaling.
"There you go!" Peter encouraged. "You're doing great, Koda!"
"Go, Koda!" he heard his friends cheer as he continued to ride the bike throughout the park.
Chase may have been right yesterday. Now that his mind was clear, this attempt was clearly much more successful this time.
Smiling, he excitedly exclaimed, "I think I got it!"

Note: Inner Monster Irony in this Chapter: Peter fears never seeing his incarcerated mom again, while Slammer uses his abilities to keep people apart.
Since the Yellow Energem is already a thing now, the Dino Cycle and its Chargers are a lime-yellow, and due to the Orange Energem also being a thing, the Dino Armor X and its Charger is now bronze. Also, Callie's hearing aids not working in the cave isn't impossible. In a modern digital hearing aid, there's a microphone that picks up the sounds from your environment and then converts them into electrical impulses. These electrical impulses, or signals, are then sent to the amplifier, which is a computer chip dedicated to sound.
