A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Dino Charge rewrite. Again, don't be alarmed that this chapter like the one in canon (save for a few changes). They will be more and more different down the line.

Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Dino Charge or Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.

"When faced with the fast-firing Cavity monster, Riley thinks Chase doesn't take the threat seriously, nor does he think that Keeper made the right choice by letting Callie keep her memories."

Break the Chains That Divide

Power Rangers: Dino Charge REDO

Season 1, Episode 05: Tooth or Consequences

Public Track & Field Stadium, Amber Beach, California

June 5, 2017

Well...Callie was part of their team now. After a long talk, after which Callie had to race back home to avoid worrying her brother, they had weighed their options and determined the best source of action would be to keep Callie on the team.

As Riley ran around the track several times, he pondered over this.

Riley didn't mind Callie being an ally. At least she'd be good back-up for Ms. Morgan whenever the woman was busy, not to mention back-up in the cafe whenever the Rangers had to rush out to fight a monster.

He continued to think as he did several sit-ups and push-ups.

The thing that Riley minded, however, was whether this was really the best course of action or not. Riley was currently thinking that it wasn't.

Because the safest thing to do was to erase her memories. Keeper had brought up altering her memories, and Riley agreed with this, but he was the only one.

Riley paused, as he remembered Chase objecting to the memory-altering. Riley couldn't think of a reason why, because Chase had once said that he just wanted Callie to be safe.

Riley shook his head before rolling onto his back and starting his bicycle crunches.

"This is Cavity," Poisandra pitched her idea to the others, with the said Inner Monster beside her. "He bakes the best cakes I've ever tasted."

Fury scoffed, "Really? A simple cake is going to take down the Rangers?"

"You'll be surprised, Furball," Poisandra shot back.

Curio bounded over to Fury and leaned an elbow on his shoulder, "Poisandra could stand the sweetness." She held out to him a plate with a slice of cake on it. "I bet you can't."

"I know you're up to something," Fury told her, "but there's no way in 65 million years that Poisandra will ever beat me."

He then grabbed the cake and ate all of it, and barely heard Poisandra and Curio giggle. "Well?" Poisandra asked. "What do you think?"

"Hmm," he said, "needs more vinegar." But then, he doubled over in pain, "Oh, my teeth! What have you done, you Candy Cane?!" Fury fell to the floor as Poisandra laughed.

Cavity bowed, "Any cake I bake causes extreme tooth decay."

Sledge cut in, "Perfect. Cavity, bake a cake for the Rangers. Make them suffer and when they're defeated, bring me their Energems! Poisandra, Curio, oversee his mission."

"Yes, sir!" Cavity said.

Dino Base, Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, Amber Beach, California

A couple hours later, Riley continued with his training in the base. He had fired up his tennis ball machine, and it was shooting out tennis balls so he could hit them with his Dino Saber.

He wasn't alone. Chase and Callie were both here as well, both sitting at the table behind him. Chase had his feet up and his headphones, working on his iPad while he enjoyed a drink, while Callie was drawing something in a sketchbook.

Riley struck numerous balls back, but he got frustrated when Chase's slurping caused him to miss one. But he shook it off and hit a few more, but once again, Chase's slurping caused him to miss one.

Riley groaned in frustration, and he turned around. A tennis ball hit him in the back, which did not improve his mood one bit.

"Yo, Chase!" he called out.

Riley saw Callie gently nudge Chase, who looked at her. She pointed at Riley, and Chase took off his headphones and asked Riley, "Yes?"

"Can you please quit lounging around?" Riley asked, as he placed his Saber down on the counter (he had placed it on top of Callie's sketchbook, but he didn't notice her slowly, awkwardly pushing it off). "I'm trying to focus here."

"I'm not lounging around," Chase calmly told him. "Besides, you just keep practicing the same sword move. over and over."

"I have my reasons, okay?" Riley replied.

A pause of silence, before Callie asked, "Which are?" The Green Ranger turned to her, and he noticed that she was trying to be helpful. Chase added a shrug, letting Riley know that he was waiting.

So Riley explained, "When Fury attacked me in Montana, I wasn't able to keep up, not even after I bonded to the Green Energem. That's why I practice, so next time, I'm ready."

Riley grabbed his Saber and turned back to face the tennis ball machine, and Chase stood up from his seat, grabbing his skateboard and holding onto his drink, "I understand that, mate. Remember, Fury almost defeated Koda and me once, so we all want to defeat Fury. But the next attack could be different. If I were you, I'd use your instincts and adapt. So you're ready for anything situation."

But Riley immediately dismissed this, "Woah, woah, woah! You giving me training advice? I've never seen you train. Not once."

Riley walked away, but Chase shouted after him, "Hey, just because I don't train the same way as you, doesn't mean I don't train." He walked over to the Charging Station and grabbed his Energem, "I'm going out."

"Have fun!" Riley bit back.

Chase turned around and glared at him, slurping his drink as a tennis mall shot out of the machine and hit Riley directly on the forehead.

Riley growled as Chase left the base.

To be honest, Riley completely forgot about the third person with them until she spoke up, "Riley, what was that about?"

"Don't worry about it," he replied, determined to get back to training.

Callie picked up Chase's iPad and told Riley, "Chase was workin' on next week's work schedule, and when he wears his headphones, it means he doesn't want ta be disturbed. Don't make assumptions, Riley."

Riley watched Callie as grabbed her sketchbook and left the base, Chase's iPad in hand.

And as she left, he couldn't but wonder what Keeper and Ms. Morgan were thinking when they chose not to erase Callie's memories.

Dino Bite Cafe, Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, Amber Beach, California

It was later than afternoon, and the lunch rush had just died down. It was also Callie's first day on the job, and so far, she was going great. The Rangers had gone on a dig today, so she had to learn the ways of the cafe by herself, and fast.

She passed by the kitchen to see a cake on the counter that wasn't there when she looked there last. She heard someone call from the kitchen, "Free samples, compliments of the chef!"

She smiled, before taking a tray of cake slices and began handing them out to the customers. She liked Chef Andrew, and they had quickly developed a mentor-student relationship within the first hour of her first shift.

A couple minutes later, she heard Tyler sayd, "I hope Kendall is right about the Gold Energem. What do you think?"

Callie smiled as she turned to see the five Rangers enter the cafe in their dig suits, before sitting down at a table and laying out a map over it. They were back. And cake samples were the perfect things to greet them with.

"Kendall says we should check the southwest creek beds," Tyler said, pointing to the spot on the map.

"We're looking for pteradactyl fossils," Shelby told them. "That's the dinosaur that bonded with the Gold Energem."

"Hey, guys," Riley quietly cut in, keeping his voice down because she was not too far away. "Do you guys agree with Kendall and Keeper."

"Agree with what?" Koda asked, he and the others confused.

Riley nodded at Callie, who was at the counter, placing cake samples on a tray, and said, "You guys know exactly what I'm talking about."

"Yes, actually," Shelby admitted, and Tyler nodded. "We do agree."

"Don't make assumptions, Riley," Chase warned. "You have no idea what she's capable of."

Funny. Callie said the same thing about Chase.

"Hey, Cal!" Tyler covered up their conversation by greeting Callie before she could greet them.

"H-Hey," she said, trailing off.

"What?" Tyler scrambled to cover his mistake, if he did make one. Why did her smile fade. "Did I say something wrong?"

Callie's smile returned, "No, no, ye're fine. It's just...no one's ever given me a nickname before."

"Well, get used to it, McLoughlin," Tyler teased back, making Callie's smile get wider, "'cause we're friends now."

She giggled, before placing the tray she was carrying on the table, "Anyways, Andrew's tryin' a new recipe, so there's free samples fer everybody."

The five Rangers each grabbed a slice from the tray, eager for a treat. Koda couldn't figure out how a fork worked, so as he relented to just using his hand, Tyler said, "Awesome!"

But before anybody could take a bite, Riley knocked Tyler and Shelby's plates out of their hands.

Tyler changed his tune pretty quick. "Um, a bit tasteless," he sassed.

Shelby looked insulted, "Excuse me?"

"No one touch it."

"What?" Koda asked, confused. "No cake?"

"Chill out, mate," Chase told him. "A little cake never hurt anyone."

"Yeah, tell that to them," Riley replied, pointing to the customers near them.

They all turned to look at the customers he was pointing at. They were all groaning in pain and holding their mouths, as their teeth were glowing a dark violet.

The Rangers were stunned, and Callie gasped as she remembered, "The free samples! I got them from the kitchen!"

They turned to where Callie said, just in time to see a monster get up from behind the counter.

"Hey!" Chase yelled, and the monster immediately made a beeline out of the kitchen.

He and Riley headed out the front entrance, while the other four ran into the kitchen.

When the four saw Chef Andrew tied up, Tyler alerted Chase and Tyler over the Comm, "He escaped out the back," before he chased after the monster.

Koda and Shelby knelt down beside Andrew, and Shelby asked, "Are you okay?"

Andrew couldn't speak, due to being gagged, and Callie knelt on Andrew's other side, before telling them, "You two go ahead. I'll take care of Andrew."

Koda and Shelby both stood up, and Shelby placed a quick hand on Callie's shoulder as Koda said, "Thank you." He turned to Shelby, "We go."

Shelby nodded and Callie watched the two run in the same direction Tyler did, before she turned back to Andrew, "You're safe now."

She ungagged him, and the first words out of his mouth were, "I'm sorry. I let him overpower me."

"That's alright," she offered him a smile as she relented to using a kitchen knife to untie the ropes bounding his hands and ankles. "It happens to the best of us."

But Andrew protested, as if there was something that she didn't understand, "No, it was easy for him. The closer and closer he got to me, the weaker I felt."

Callie stopped as she remembered what the Shelby told Moana about Inner Monsters.

"Inner Monster? Is that what it's called?"

"Yeah. They're born from a primary, lingering fear from a human host. Spellbinder will use you as a battery until you're either gone or we defeat it."

She had a fleeting feeling that Andrew was Cavity's host.

Meanwhile, Chase and Riley saw the monster run by them. Fortunately, their Morphers were at the ready, "Unleash the Power!"

Cavity cried out in fear as the two Rangers began firing their Morphers at him, "Out of the frying pan and into the firing zone!"

"He's getting away!" Riley said. "Take the shot, Chase!"

Cavity reached the park right as he was hit from behind. He was sent to the ground, but he quickly got back to his feet, as he was met with the Green and Black Rangers.

"Someone needs a dental plan," Chase quipped.

Cavity bragged, "Oh, I'm going to rot more than just your teeth." He then shot some lasers out of his mouth.

Chase and Riley leapt out of the way to dodge them, only to see the lasers to instead hit the three that was behind them. The tree immediately began to decay.

"He's serious!" Riley warned.

"Don't let him escape!" Tyler shouted to them from the side, and the two turned to face him. "He'll rot the entire city!"

"You're not getting in my way, Red Ranger!" Cavity said. "Vivix!"

Tyler was met with a squadron of Vivix, but he eagerly and easily took them all on himself.

Riley stepped in front of Chase, "I can take him."

He was confident in his abilities, but then Chase had to chirp back, "Be my quest. Let's just hope he shoots tennis balls at you."

Riley turned around, angry, asking, "Is that supposed to be funny?"

Cavity took advantage of this and fired another laser at them shouting, "Decay time!"

Riley managed to turn around just in time to barely block the beam with his Saber. Cavity growled in frustration, and chose to keep firing.

But Riley managed to block every shot.

Cavity roared in anger, "Hold still, Ranger! This is going to hurt!"

Riley was ready, but then Chase shoved him aside, "Nice job, Riley. Now let me show you what my training can do."

Riley held Chase back by grabbing his shoulder, "Quit goofing off! I had him!"

But both were unaware of Cavity getting closer until he was right on top of them.

Tyler watched with horror as Cavity punched them both, and they fell to the ground, defeated. He called out, "Hold on, guys! I'm coming!" As soon as all the Vivix around him were gone, of course.

"Until next time!" Cavity said, before running away.

Tyler pushed all the remaining Vivix away from him and ran after Cavity, only to lose him immediately. Cavity was fast.

Koda and Shelby (both morphed) joined them as Tyler groaned in frustration, before turning back to address Chase and Riley, "What happened, guys?"

"Are you okay?" Shelby asked Riley as she helped him to his feet.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said, but he made a beeline for Chase, who was just helped up by Koda. "You need to stop messing around. One of us could've gotten hurt."

Riley walked away, ignoring everyone else calling out after him.

Shelby turned to Chase, "What's going on with you two?"

Chase sighed, "Let's just say we agree to disagree."

"That monster came from me?" Andrew asked.

"Yeah," Callie answered. Tyler, Koda, and Shelby had joined Callie in kitchen, currently cleaning after closing the cafe early. They were watching her talk to Andrew, and she had just told him that Cavity was probably his Inner Monster. "Are there any lingerin' resentments or fears ye're currently holdin' inside?"

"Yes, actually," Andrew replied. "I get a lot of comments saying I'm not a good cook because I never actually went to culinary school."

"But yer Nana taught ye," Callie recalled. "Ms. Morgan thought that was good enough. Otherwise, she wouldn't have hired ye."

"True," Andrew offered her a smile. "I learned from the best, and my Nana was indeed the best. But lately, I've heard some rumors that the higher-ups need to let some people go. I'm afraid I might be one of them."

Oh. But Callie was quick to offer, "You know, I heard from Ms. Morgan herself that there's no way they're lettin' ye go. Ye're too important."

Andrew smiled, as did Tyler, Shelby, and Koda. Leave it to Callie to help people feel better.

"Thank you," Andrew said.

Tyler turned to Shelby and Koda, who returned his determined look with a nod each.

Tyler placed a hand on Callie's shoulder, "We have to run an errand, Cal. But don't worry. We'll be back soon."

Understanding what they meant, Callie nodded. They were going out to find Cavity before it was too late to save Andrew.

Callie offered Andrew one last smile, before standing up and continuing the cleaning job Tyler, Shelby, and Koda left off on.

Meanwhile, Kendall and Riley were organizing the remaining cake slices, which all had a number assigned to them.

"Alright, these are the leftover pieces of the poisoned cake," Kendall told Riley, "the ones I told Callie not to throw away."

"We need to record how much was eaten by each person," Riley stated, "and then determine whether it was the cake or the frosting."

Kendall added, "And hopefully come up with an antidote," as Riley grabbed a few samples and brought them to the counter. Kendall held up her clipboard, "Victim number one?"

Riley examined the slice, "Two cake bites, one frosting." Kendall wrote down the information as Riley talked. He picked up the second slice, "Victim number two looks like three cake bites and no frosting."

Riley just happened to turn around to see Chase starting to throw the other samples on the table into the garbage can, and immediately moved to stop him, "Woah, woah! Stop! What are you doing?!"

"Cleaning up," Chase replied. Callie noted that he looked genuinely confused. "The cafe's closed, so that's what I'm supposed to be doing, right?"

"No, not these!" Riley yelled at Chase if he was stupid or deaf. "We need to figure out what's going on first!"

"Well, I'm sorry, Mr. Perfect," Chase said, "but I didn't get that memo. You don't need to analyze everything, because my instincts tell me what's going on is that if you eat the cake, you get a toothache."

"It's not that simple!" Riley fought back.

"It is that simple," Chase calmly replied.

Before Kendall could talk, Callie quickly stepped in between them to stop them, a towel still in her hand, "Both o' ye, cut it out! Ye're too busy trying to figure out who's right that ye're completely missin' the point!"

"Stay out of this, Callie!" Riley shot out.

Chase took notice of Callie jumped back as if she were a dog that was just yelled at, and he finally fought back, "Hey!" Riley turned to face Chase. He hadn't heard the Black Ranger that angry before. "Eyes on me, mate. Not her."

Kendall interrupted them all with a sigh of frustration, "Enough! Both of you, out of here! And don't come back until you sort this out!"

Chase took his skateboard and rolled out of the cafe, all while sending Riley a glare.

Callie slammed her towel onto the table next to them and ran after Chase, as Riley called back to Chase, "You can't skate in here!"

He turned to Kendall with a boastful smile, only for it to completely disappear the second he laid eyes on Kendall's glare, which was directed at him.

"Chase!" Callie managed to catch up to Chase outside the museum. Fortunately for her, he stopped the moment he heard her calling out to him.

He couldn't help but notice how mad she sounded. "Yes, Callie?"

"What the hell was that about?!" she demanded, her hands on her hips, her Irish accent becoming more pronounced due to her anger.

"Don't worry about it," he tried to calm her down.

But she shot back, "Ye gobshite! Every time ye or Riley say that, I worry anyways! The truth, Randall. What's goin' on?!"

Chase sighed, knowing there was no way of calming her down unless he told her everything, "Riley just doesn't get me as well as you do."

Thankfully, Callie began calming down, but the strict tone in her voice was still there, "I told both o' ye just now that ye're too busy trying ta be the right one that ye're missin' the point entirely."

"Which is?"

"Both o' ye are wrong," she answered.

He turned around to face her, surprised. "What?"

"I said both o' ye are wrong," Callie repeated, before explaining, "Yes, sometimes ye need ta use yer instincts, but honestly, Hotshot, it wouldn't kill ye ta train every now and then. That's what I mean. Both o' ye gobshites are trying to prove yer method ta be the correct one, but they're both right. So here's my solution: ye cover Riley's weakness, and he cover yers. Alright?"

Chase didn't speak a word as he nodded.

"Good," then came her smile. "Now, Andrew's the Host of Cavity. Ye might wanna hurry up and destroy him before it's too late."

"Yeah," was his reply. "Thanks, Callie."

She smiled as he skateboarded away.

Riley was practicing his sword technique, or trying to. He got more and more frustrated the more tennis balls he failed to hit. He sat down as Keeper entered from a side cave.

"Your anger dulls your skill," Keeper said. "What distracts you, Riley?"

"I'm just having an off day," was Riley's reply.

"Quite off, I should say," Keeper said, as he sat down next to Riley, "for you to hide your true thoughts from me."

That seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back, "It's Chase. He doesn't take anything seriously."

"Chase's intentions appear to be as sincere as yours," Keeper replied. "Yet you judge his approach?"

Riley argued, "It's all a big joke to him. That monster is on the loose and where's Chase? He goes skateboarding! He doesn't even seem to care that Callie's in more danger because she's now been fully exposed to the Ranger business than she was before!"

"Things aren't always as they appear," Keeper calmly replied, before picking up two tennis balls and getting to his feet. "Tell me this. Is it not posssible-" He threw a ball directly into the machine, "-that two different paths-" He then threw the second towards Riley, who ducked before watching said ball hit the wall and bounced off of several objects before landing in the machine, "-can lead to the same destination. And Chase does care about Callie. Both are learning something from the other. She's teaching him how to break down the walls he's placed up, and he's teaching her how to build up her self-confidence. Trust me, I placed Callie on this team for a reason."

His words made Riley think.

"Perhaps you and Chase aren't as different as you think," Keeper said, before walking away.

Once the cafe was all cleaned up, Kendall turned to the only worker left in the cafe that had stayed to help: Andrew.

"Well, Andrew, since we've closed early," she told him, "it's time to go home."

"You're not firing me, are you?" he asked, fear evident in his voice.

She gave him a smile, "Of course not. Everyone's getting a full paycheck for today, but we'll all be back tomorrow. Including you, the best chef the cafe has ever had."

Andrew smiled in relief.

But that single ping of fear was all it took.

Alleyway, Seaview Ridgeway, Amber Beach, California

Cavity finally found Poisandra and Curio in an alleyway, and Curio was pounding his head with her hammer, "I'm sorry for running off, ma'am. I really am."

"You should be," Poisandra scolded, as Curio stopped her hammering. "Now, all cafes and restaurants have closed down, until, they say and I quote, 'the Rangers have resolved this mess', so our plan to sneak in cakes is ruined."

"Shall I propose we do this with brute force?" Cavity asked, lowering his head in shame.

Poisandra and Curio both sighed, as Curio said, "Not a good idea. Your ability to decay things is your greatest strength."

Then, Cavity began shaking and a black fog surrounded him.

"What's going on?!" Curio asked, frightened.

Cavity suddenly lost his white robe and his smile got even more hideous. "Out of my way!"

As Cavity ran past Poisandra, she deduced, "His Host must've gotten weaker due to his fear! There's no way we can contain him now, Curio! It's over!"

"We'll just have to hope he can defeat the Rangers in his current state," Curio commented. "Without us."

Dino Base, Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, Amber Beach, California

Riley was still sitting where Keeper had left him ten minutes earlier when Callie entered the base, "Hey, Riley."

Riley remembered how Chase didn't really start fighting back against Riley until he had snapped at Callie. "Hey, Callie. Listen, I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier."

"It's alright," she offered him a gentle smile. "Ye're forgiven." She sat down next to him, her smile gone, as she asked, "I have ta ask...are the two o' ye fightin' because me?"

"What?" Riley asked, confused as to why she would ask that. "Why?"

"Well, ye lads only seem ta fight when I'm there in the room with ye," Callie replied. "This morning, and again in the cafe just now."

It was then that he understood. He remembered Keeper saying how Chase was helping Callie become more confident in herself, and this must've been an insecurity that had arisen due to certain circumstances.

"Of course not," Riley reassured her, meaning it, as he remembered him and Chase fighting that Cavity took advantage of. Callie wasn't there to see that. "Chase and I are fighting because I don't want to have misunderstandings with who I'm saving the world with."

"Fair enough," Callie said. "But the fact that they're bonded ta Energems should tell ye all ye need ta know."

"But-!"

She cut him off, "Ye're saving the world, ye gobshite. Ye don't have the time ta complain about who yer teammates are. I mean, ye're all fighting fer the same thing. Isn't that enough?"

It was at this moment that Riley finally understood what Keeper's reasons were. Or, at least, what those reasons could possibly be. He had a pretty good idea now.

He smiled, "Thanks, Cal."

She returned it with a contagious grin of her own.

Chase was skateboarding through the city and scanning the area as he rolled along.

Chase asked himself, "Now if I was that rotten creep, where would I go?" He answered himself, "I'd go where I could cause the most decay: the city."

He cut himself off when he heard screaming, and he quickly skateboarded in that direction, only to stop when he saw Cavity enjoying himself as he blasted several buildings.

"This should bring those Rangers out!" Cavity was saying.

Chase pulled out his Dino Comm as quickly as he could, "Is anyone there?"

Riley was training again, and he found his skills no longer dull. When the machine was done, he smiled and turned to Callie, who was drawing in the same sketchbook as this morning, in the same place as this morning.

He walked over to her, "Hey, what are you drawing?"

"Doesn't matter," she replied, as he sat down next to her at the counter. "It's just a hobby."

"You obviously have a talent for it," he told her, looking at her sketch, which was a drawing of a night sky.

She gave a soft smile, "Because when I was in kindergarten, I didn't have hearing aids, so I couldn't afford ta let my mind wander inta fantasy, or as Chase likes ta call it, 'Callietown', and my lack of hearing made it difficult fer me ta come back ta reality. So I took ta drawing during class because it helped me concentrate."

"It makes sense," Riley said. "I'm guessing that when you don't have your hearing aids in, you hear a lot of dead silence."

Callie nodded, "Yeah. When I reached the end of primary school, I got my hearing aids, so I can hear a lot better now. But sometimes, I still find myself signing and sketching out of sheer habit."

"Well, you're very talented," Riley complimented.

Callie smiled back at him just as Riley's Dino Comm went off. Riley immediately pulled it out of his pocket in time to hear Chase on the other end, "I found our cake maker, and he's rotting more than teeth! Better hurry!"

"Chase found him?" Riley asked.

"See?" Callie replied with a smile.

Riley took a moment before taking off. As he reached the exit, he turned back, "Call the others if they don't know already!"

Callie nodded as she placed the laptop's earpiece into her ear, "Good luck."

Shelby and Tyler were sitting inside Tyler's Jeep, with Shelby in the passenger seat, holding her Dino Comm.

"No strange bio-signs in this quadrant," the Comm said, right as Koda dropped into the back seat from the tree above them.

This startled Tyler, but Koda took no notice, "I see no monster."

"Let's search the north east area next," Shelby suggested, right before the Comm went off again. She quickly answered, "What's up, Cal?"

"Chase found the monster," Callie relayed. "City Square. Riley's already on his way."

"So are we," Shelby replied as Tyler started driving.

City Square, Amber Beach, California

Cavity laughed as he ran through the city, and Chase went after him on his skateboard.

"Hold it right there, pastry face!" Chase called out. Cavity stopped running and turned around to face Chase. "I can smell your decay a mile away."

"Just a mile?" Cavity bragged, before walking towards Chase, only to be shot by his Morpher, the force of which knocked the monster to the pavement.

"Dino Charger, Ready! Energize, ha! Unleash the Power!" Now morphed, Chase readied himself for the fight, "Parasaur, Power Ranger Black!"

"This time, your teeth will match your suit," Cavity told him.

"I reckon that'll be tough, mate," Chase replied. "I floss."

Cavity then shot several lasers from his mouth, and Chase managed to avoid getting him. Cavity groaned in frustration, "Quit dodging!"

Chase quickly ran up to Cavity, spinning the barrel, before firing his Morpher directly at Cavity's teeth.

But the blast bounced off the teeth and hit Chase instead.

Chase went flying back, as Cavity bragged, "These cavities aren't going away that easily!"

Before Chase could get back up, Cavity hit him with a decay beam. This caused Chase to de-morph as he huddled over in pain. Were toothaches supposed to hurt this much?

"How does it feel, Ranger?" Cavity taunted. Chase didn't answer. He couldn't; he was too much pain. Cavity just laughed. "Just what Sledge ordered. And now the icing on the cake." Chase could only watch as Cavity raised his arm to deliver the final blow. "Say goodbye!"

But before Cavity could strike, Chase saw a blur of green and looked in time for Riley to block the blow for him.

"Another Ranger?!" Cavity cried.

Riley shoved Cavity away, and Chase elbowed the monster in the chest. But when he had to stop due to the pain in his mouth, Riley gently pushed Chase back, saying, "I'll protect you!"

Riley then blocked a couple more strikes before landing a slash down Cavity's chest, from the chin to the torso.

"Riley, duck!" Tyler suddenly shouted, and the Green Ranger did so right as Tyler, Shelby, and Koda ran forward, firing their Blasters at Cavity and knocking him to the ground.

As soon as Cavity went down, Riley put his Saber away and knelt next to Chase, "I thought you were at the skate park."

"Why in the world would I be messing around when an innocent life is in danger?" Chase countered.

Riley went quiet, "Sorry...I guess you wouldn't be."

"Trust me," Chase told him, "even though we do things differently, we fight for the same thing. Nice moves, by the way. I guess your training paid off." He kept in mind what Callie told him. Both of them were right, but they were also wrong.

"And you're the one who found the monster," Riley replied. "Guess using your instincts isn't really a bad thing, is it?" Chase smiled, at least, as much as he could before the pain interrupted him. Riley then helped him stand. "Look, I'm really sorry about-"

"Save it for later," Chase stopped him. "Destroy those rotten teeth of his first."

The other three had joined them by now, and Tyler said, "Good find, Chase. Now, let's save Andrew together."

Chase and Riley took their places in the line-up, as Riley said, "It's Morphin' Time. Dino Charger!"

"R-!"

They were cut off by Chase grimacing.

"You okay?" Koda asked, he and the others visibly showing their concern.

"Go," was all Chase said. He was obviously in pain and he clearly wanted to get this over with.

"Ready! Energize, ha! Unleash the Power!"

Once morphed, Tyler lead the rollcall, "Power Rangers, Charged! Tyrannosaurus Rex, Power Ranger Red!"

"Parasaur, Power Ranger-!" The pain cut him off, and he clutched his helmet where his jaw was, hunching over.

Riley comforted him, "Don't force it, Hotshot." Chase managed to mutter a 'thanks', before Riley called, "Next!"

"Stegosaurus, Power Ranger Blue!"

"Velociraptor, Power Ranger Green!"

"Triceratops, Power Ranger Pink!"

"Dinosaur Might, Ready to Fight! Power Rangers: Dino Charge!"

The other four turned to see Chase still bending over in pain.

"Hang in there, Chase!" Tyler urged.

Cavity laughed, "I'll rot all your teeth this time!"

Tyler got back to his feet, "You'll never beat our team, 'cause it's about to get wild!"

"Vivix!" Cavity called. "Destroy those Rangers!"

The Rangers rushed forward to fight the Vivix.

Tyler used his fists and kicks, almost looking like he was dancing as he did so.

Koda combined his Dino Morpher and Dino Saber together, "Power Blast!" The Vivix he shot at went down, and he then knocked a couple more with his fists.

Shelby was using her kicks on the group she was facing.

Riley was using his Dino Saber to block their weapons before striking them down.

But Chase was struggling. He tried using his long-distance fighting style to help him, but the pain just kept getting in the way. A couple of Vivix grabbed and held him in place as a third charged towards him. "Guys?!" he yelled.

The Vivix coming towards Chase suddenly went down due to a shot from a Morpher, and Chase saw Riley use his Saber on the two Vivix holding Chase.

"Not bad," Chase said. "Now who's the Hotshot?"

"Just until you see a dentist," Riley replied in jest.

"Thanks, Riley," Chase was quiet, but he meant it.

Meanwhile, Tyler, Koda, and Shelby grouped up and spun the barrels of their Morphers, charing up the shot, "Dino Morpher Blast!"

But just like Chase's attempt, the shots bounced off of Cavity's teeth and hit the three instead. Chase and Riley ran towards the three as they went down.

"You guys alright?" Riley asked.

"The blasts just aren't strong enough," Chase realized.

"The shots he fires also match the number of teeth he has," came Callie's voice.

"What?" Riley asked.

Callie continued, "That's what I've noticed. It's risky, but I think the only way his teeth can be destroyed is ta wait until after he's fired his shots."

Riley chose to trust her. She was an observer, after all. He held up her Saber, "Then, let's try it out. Chase, let's combine Chargers."

"Combine our powers, eh?" Chase asked, sounding impressed. He pulled out a Para Charger and gave it to Riley.

The Green Ranger took it, saying, "Yeah, I'm adapting to the situation."

"This will only hurt a lot," Cavity taunted.

"Dino Charger, Ready!" Riley placed the Charger into his Saber.

"Para Charger, Engage!"

"He's got six shots left, Riley," Callie told him.

"Right!" he said, before charging at Cavity.

The monster shot out more beams, and Riley counted each one as he blocked them with his Dino Saber. Once he got to six, he took that chance to attack.

"Power Slash!"

A green-colored energy slash hit Cavity's teeth dead on. Two more strikes and Cavity's teeth were indeed destroyed.

"No, my teeth!" Cavity cried out, upset. "My beautiful teeth!"

"Your turn, Chase!" Riley said, tossing the Kiwi a green Charger. "Finish him off."

By this time, Tyler, Koda, and Shelby had recovered and watched Chase finish Cavity off.

"Dino Charger, Ready!"

"Raptor Charge, Engage!"

"Energize!" Riley kept Cavity in place, but moved out of the way when Chase finally fired, "Dino Morpher Blast: Final Strike!"

Cavity was engulfed in an explosion.

Riley snapped his fingers and commented, "Now that's a Hotshot."

"Nice job," Chase said, the pain now gone.

"That's definitely not something you can train for," Riley replied.

Curio raced over to Cavity, pulling out her canister of Liquid Luck. But before she could pour it out, Cavity grabbed the canister.

"Hey! Let go!" she protested.

"Give me that!" Cavity wrestled in from her and dumped the entire contents on himself, before throwing the canister aside.

The Rangers backed up as he grew to giant size, glowing green as he did, "It's not over yet, Rangers!"

"His teeth are back," Koda noted.

The other Rangers saw that he was right when they looked up as Cavity said, "Destroying you is going to make my smile even brighter."

Tyler brought out a red Charger, "We need the Dino Charge Megazord! Dino Chargers, Ready!"

He, Koda, and Shelby threw their respective Chargers, "Summon Zords!"

Once the T-Rex, Stego, and Tricera Zords arrive, they quickly formed the Megazord.

"Activate Dino Charge Megazord: TriStego Formation!"

The T-Rex Zord formed the main body and the head, while Stego and Tricera formed the arms. Their three Rangers landed in the cockpit after the Megazord was completed.

"Battle Mode: Engage!"

"Time for a major tooth extraction!" Tyler said.

Cavity boasted, "This is going to be a piece of cake!"

Cavity fired at the Megazord, but it blocked all the blasts with the Stego Shield as it raced towards the monster. When the Megazord reached him, it punched him in his face with the Shield. Cavity pushed the Megazord back.

"This creep's teeth are even more powerful now," Tyler noted, as Cavity struck the Megazord.

Chase and Riley, on the ground below, ran up to watch the battle from a better angle, as Chase commented, "That is one tough cavity."

"We need to get in there and help," Riley said.

"Maybe if they can knock him back long enough," Callie offered through the Comm, "then you two will have enough of an opening to get into the cockpit."

"Sounds like a plan, Callie," Chase said.

"Let's do it," Riley agreed, as Cavity struck the Megazord hard.

The three inside the cockpit struggled until Chase called them from below. Tyler was the one who answered, "You have an idea?"

"Callie does," Chase replied. "Use the Dino Blaze Charger! Deep fry that chef and we'll come help!"

"Great thinking!" Tyler commented, before pulling out a crimson colored Charger. "Dino Charger, Ready!"

He threw it and Rexy caught it.

"Dino Blaze Charger, Engage!"

Tyler, Koda, and Shelby all attacked at once, "Dino Charge Megazord: Flamethrower!"

Rexy blew a burst of fire at Cavity, and a second later, Chase and Riley joined them in the cockpit.

"We're unstoppable now!" Tyler said, excited.

Koda heard Stego speak to him, "Stego ready for action. We do this, together."

"Together," Tyler told him. "All five-"

"Ready!" The Stego Shield turned into a sword, "Stego Saber!" The five each pulled out their own Dino Saber.

The Megazord repeatedly struck Cavity's teeth with the Stego Saber several times. They kept this up until Cavity's teeth were destroyed once again.

"No! You knocked my teeth out!"

"Exactly," Tyler said, as the five Rangers readied up the finisher.

"Stego Saber: Final Strike!"

The combined slash final destroyed Cavity once and for all.

"Extraction complete!"

Tyler declared, "Monster Extinct."

"We did it!" Shelby celebrated, before she and Riley high-fived.

"We did," Riley admitted, "by working together. Nice going, Hotshot."

"You too, Riley," Chase replied.

Tyler turned to the cockpit screen in front of them, where the top left corner showed Callie celebrating in the base, "You deserve praise too, Cal."

Callie immediately blushed, "No, I don't. Ye lads did all the work."

"We mean it, Cal," Riley replied. "We couldn't have had done it without you."

Callie's shy smile told them everything they needed to know.

The next day, Riley was sitting on a bench, mentally preparing for another workout. He expected to do this alone, so he was surprised when Chase rolled up to him on his skateboard and sat down next to Riley.

"Hey," Riley greeted, his voice quiet.

"Hey," Chase replied, "I thought I'd join you for a run."

"Oh," the Green Ranger quickly found himself smiling, as Chase put on his running shows. But it faded as he remembered that he didn't apologize yet (mainly because Chase told him to save it for later, after Cavity had been defeated). "Chase, I owe you an apology. When I was growing up on my family's ranch, everyone used to make assumptions about me, and they were mostly wrong ones. I didn't realize that that attitude was rubbing off on me, so I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry, too," Chase replied, catching Riley off guard.

"W-What?"

Chase continued, "I definitely crossed a line I shouldn't have, mate, and I'm sorry for that."

Riley's smile returned, "It's okay. I forgive you." He then paused, wondering if he should say it. But he decided to say it anyways, "Chase, can I ask you something?"

"Sure," the Kiwi answered.

"You don't have to answer it if it's too personal," Riley prefaced. "It's okay. I understand."

But Chase cut him off with a chuckle, "Riley, it's fine. Ask your question."

Riley paused again, before deciding to just go for it, "Are you okay with Keeper letting Callie keep her memories?"

"First of all," Chase said after pausing, "Keeper said memory altering, not memory erasure. Second, to be honest, half of me isn't. I mean, who knows what will happen to her now that she's closer to the danger than she was before?" Riley nodded, agreeing. This was one of his primary concerns. But then Chase surprised him, "But the other half of me agrees."

"You're okay with it? Why?" Riley asked.

Chase shot him a friendly smile, "Have a little faith, mate. Callie now has more friends to hang out with, which is good. Besides, she has something that the rest of us don't."

"What's that?" A curious Riley asked.

"People like her."

It was difficult to explain what that meant, but Riley seemed to understand anyways. He remembered how Callie managed to get both of them to see the correct answer and to stop fighting.

Chase chuckled at Riley's thinking face, "Don't feel bad about misjudging Callie, mate. It may come as a surprise to you, but once upon a time, I was in the exact same position."

"You're kidding," Riley didn't beleive that.

"I'm not," Chase answered. "Mine and Callie's first meeting was at the park. I accidentally ran into her on my skateboard. I apologized to her, but she didn't answer, so I started to think that she maybe hated me." He smiled, "That was until she placed her hearing aids into her ears and looked directly at me. Then she apologized and explained that her hearing was impaired."

"And that's how you and Callie met?"

"And became best friends," Chase added. "Because according to her, I was the only one willing to stay and talk to her."

Riley chuckled at the story, before asking another question. But this one, he already knew the answer to, "Hey, Chase...you have crush on Callie, don't you?"

Sure enough, Chase was immediately flustered, "That's not something I like to freely talk about, mate."

Riley's only response was a knowing smile.

"Seriously, Riley, knock it off," but Chase was also smiling.

Riley shook it off before standing up, "Alright, let's start running."

Chase too got to his feet, but the two stopped when they saw the other four walk towards them, all in workout gear.

"What's up, lads?" Callie asked.

"Hey, Callie," Chase replied, blushing. "We're about to go for run."

"What are you guys doing here?" Riley asked Tyler, Shelby, and Koda.

"Well, you were pretty awesome against Cavity," Tyler explained.

Shelby finished, "So we figured maybe we should train with you."

Riley was pleasantly surprised, "Great. Well, the first rule...is no rules."

Tyler and Koda looked at him, puzzled, as Shelby and Callie shared a glance.

"Seriously?" Chase asked, confused as well. He grabbed his skateboard from the ground, "In that case, I'll ride."

"So, no rules?" Koda asked. "How can that be rule?"

"Just use your instincts," Riley instructed, "and adapt to whatever happens."

Chase grabbed Riley by the shoulder and stated, "This could be dangerous."

Riley grabbed Chase's shoulders in return, replying, "Just see if you can keep up, Hotshot."

He then took off running as his friends watched. He leapt into the air and spun over a bench. When he landed, he shrugged, as the others took off running, while Chase hopped onto his skateboard.

Callie, not having the agility to join them, resorted to just running and watching them. She watched as Chase jumped over a bench, as Tyler performed a handstand and Koda leapt over it. She watched as Koda did a cartwheel and flips as Tyler ran to keep up with him. She watched as Shelby performed several backflips.

And she felt so out of place.

She watched Riley and Chase give each other a high five as they passed by each other, as Tyler leapt over a trash can, and as Riley and Koda lepat over stair railings.

Callie was already half-way up the stairs when she called out, "Race ye lads ta the top!"

Chase picked up his skateboard as he and the other four Rangers ran up the stairs after her, taking her up on her challenge.

She only beat them due to her massive headstart.

But she was surprised when Riley suggested, "Hey, about the six of us go have some fun at the amusement park after this?"

"I'm down!" Tyler said, as they all took a break to catch their breath.

"Awesome!" Shelby jumped up and down in excitement.

"What is amusement park?" Koda asked. "Is it fun?"

"Boatloads of fun, mate," Chase replied with a smile.

But Callie was surprised because of the number Riley said. "'Six'?" she asked. "Not 'five'?"

"Yeah," Riley replied, sounding as if the answer was obvious. "Why?"

"Well..." she turned her eyes to the ground, "I don't really think I belong on the team. I'm not a Ranger..."

"That's the point, Cal," Riley surprised her again, and she looked up at him, staring directly into his green eyes. "Someone like you keep us honest."

Callie turned to Chase, who was smiling, and he nodded encouragement.

This made Callie smile back.

Original PRDC Episode: The Tooth Hurts

Note: Inner Monster Irony in this Chapter: Andrew is trying not to get fired, while Cavity is doing all he can to get fired. Also Andrew is a great cook, while Cavity is so terrible that everything he bakes gives people cavities.

Fury is weird. Who puts vinegar in cakes? I also gave the chef Cavity tied up in canon a name, and this episode is what resulted from that. And Chase needed to hear Riley's apology at the end, because both were at fault.
