A/N: Here is the next chapter of my Dino Charge rewrite. Again, don't be alarmed that this chapter like the one in canon (save for a few changes). They will be more and more different down the line.
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Dino Charge or Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten Tyler/Shelby. Here's a chapter full of them.

"When one of Sledge's Executioners stings the Ankylo Zord and incapacitates the Yellow Ranger, Shelby, Kendall, and Callie must work together to fix the problem."
Break the Chains That Divide
Power Rangers: Dino Charge REDO
Season 1, Episode 06: Let Sleeping Zords Lie
Dig Site, Old Country Roads, Amber Beach, California
June 8, 2017
It was a very hot day, and thus not the ideal environment to dig for dinosaur fossils and Energems in. But that's what water was for.
Well, the guys were digging. Shelby was under the tarp and sitting at the table they had brought with them. She was deep in thought, looking at the sketches Callie did of the six dinosaurs the lost Energems had bonded to (Callie's name was in cursive at the bottom, as well as the date it was made, June 6th). She was deep in thought as she studied the sketches.
"Something's not right," she muttered.
"Hey, Shelby!" Chase suddenly shouted at her. "How about lending a hand over here?"
Shelby got up from her chair, her cup of water in her hand, "Guys, follow me for a sec. Keeper gave eleven Energems to eleven different dinosaurs."
Koda excitedly nodded, "Of course!" But his enthuasiasm died down when he realized that he had no idea what Shelby was trying getting at.
Shelby saw this and continued, "Look, we found five Energems already. So, six are still lost. Those Energems would only be found near the fossils of the Pteradactyl, the Ankylosaurus, the Pachysephalosaurus, the Plesiosaurus, the Brachiosaurus, and the Spinosaurus. We shouldn't dig here just because we found bones here before."
"Makes sense," Tyler admitted, understanding what she was trying to say. "So where should we dig?"
Shelby paused, before slowly confessing, "I...don't know..." Tyler chuckled, before she continued, "But I do have an idea on how we can find out." She called them over to the table, "All of you, come here."
They followed her to where she was working. On the table lay a map of the country and Callie's sketches, the materials Shelby was studying.
Shelby continued, "I was thinking that if we combine the known areas where the remaining dinosaurs lived, with the energy signatures from each dinosaur's Energem, then we can pinpoint where to look more accurately."
"Energy signature," Koda repeated, before turning to Chase, confused, "What Shelby say?"
Shelby answered for him, "I'm saying that we need to work smarter, not harder."
"You might be right about those energy signatures," Riley admitted, looking over the map, as Tyler grabbed his cup and went to take a drink.
"She is right," Chase corrected, before asking Shelby, "but there's a glaring problem staring at you in the face, Shelbs. How do you plan on tracking those energy signatures?"
"That's what I don't know," Shelby admitted, relieved that the guys at least approved of her idea. "I was kinda hoping you guys could help me."
"We will," Tyler said, as Shelby took a drink from her cup, "after you tell me where my water went."
This alarmed Chase, and when he picked up his own cup, he immediately noted how empty it was. Koda and Riley quickly followed his example. Chase cleared his throat, not amused, "You finished all our drinks?"
Shelby obviously did not feel guilty, "What? It's really hot out here."
"We noticed," Tyler sassed.
Koda told Chase, "Shelby drink like camel."
Shelby rolled her eyes, "I'm sorry about I stole your guys' water, but please, I need your help. I'm stuck!"
Riley shrugged, as Tyler admitted, "Sorry, but we can't. We have no idea either."
But Koda offered with a simple, "Kendall know."
Shelby immediately smiled, "That's right! Thanks, Koda!" She turned around to leave, as Tyler dug into his pocket and pulled out his keys. She stopped, and turned back around, "Um...Tyler?"
She didn't have to ask. Tyler tossed her his keys with a knowing smile.
"Thanks," Shelby replied, before turning around to leave (again).
"Good luck!" Koda called back.

Crystal Kay Park, Amber Beach, California
Callie rolled through the park on her rollerblades, before effortlessly stopping in front of her usual bench and sitting down on it.
Ms. Morgan said she had the day off today, and to be honest, Callie didn't know what she should do with her free time. Seán was at work all day, so it was just her in the house.
So, she had chosen to continue working, not at the cafe but on future weapons and ideas the Rangers could possibly use in the future. She had given one such idea to Ms. Morgan two days ago (and a sketch of the six remaining dinosaurs to Shelby, who had asked for it), and she was still waiting for her boss or any of the Rangers to tell her that idea had merit.
When creating it, Callie had an 'Energem tracker' in mind the entire time.
But now she had time to think of more ideas. After taking off her rollerblades and slipping on her regular shoes, she brought out her sketchbook and pencil, only to discover that she currently had no ideas.
Callie's grip on her pencil tightened. She had to help the Rangers as much as possible. Her impaired hearing had been a burden to some people in the past, especially to the people who had to watch her for any period of time, and she didn't want the cycle to repeat itself with her new friends.
The fact that she had no Energem of her own was enough of a burden for the others to bare. They didn't need her refusing to pull her own weight.
A gentle tap on her shoulder snapped her out of her reverie, and she quickly looked at the person who tried to get her attention.
"Hello," she timidly greeted the man that stood in front of her.
He had long, wavy brunette hair tied back in a ponytail, with a slightly graying beard, wearing yellow flannel, khakis, and black boots. On his face was a friendly, slightly concerned smile.
"Hi there," he replied. "You okay? You seem troubled."
"I'm fine," she attempted a smile of her own. "Just lost in thought."
"Thank goodness," the man said, before asking, "You mind if I sit here?"
"No, go ahead," she replied. As he did, she decided to take the plunge and strike up a conversation, "I'm sorry if it took ye a while ta get my attention. I'm partially deaf."
"Don't worry about it," he gently told her. "I just noticed you." He then shook his head, "I'm so sorry about my manners. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Robert Baldwin, archeology professor at Amber Beach Community College."
"It's nice ta meet ye," Callie greeted. "I'm Callie McLoughlin, someone who's going ta that same college this fall."
"Neat," he said. "Maybe I'll see you in one of my classes."
"Not sure," she shrugged. "Archeology isn't what I plan ta go inta. No offense."
"None taken," he waved it off with a smile. "Everybody has their own unique interests. What are yours?"
"Writing, definitely," Callie replied. "And maybe art..."
She trailed off when she noticed a faint yellow glow in his pocket. He leaned over to get his water bottle from his bag, allowing her to catch a glimpse of a familiar silver cap.
Was that...the Yellow Energem?
She decided to ease herself to that point, because there was no way he would outright tell her, a complete stranger, all about something that special and powerful.
"So...ye're an archeology professor," she began, and when he nodded, she kept going. "I have ta ask...do ye get ta go on archeology digs yerself? Y'know, like Indiana Jones?"
Robert immediately started to chuckle, and he nodded, "Sometimes, yes. Though, the digs are more for my own enjoyment than anything else. That means that anything I find, I get to keep."
She was glad and grateful that he got there himself, and she didn't have to. He saved her a whole lot of work.
"Have ye found anythin', like, super interestin'?" she asked.
He paused, being the one deep in thought this time, before quietly saying, "You know, I never tell anybody about this, because it's one of deepest secrets, but I really do feel like I can trust you. Yes, I have found something 'super' interesting." He pulled into his pocket and pulled out a yellow crystal.
It was the Yellow Energem.
Robert continued, "I found this while on a dig in Canada, and it was embedded in an ankylosaurus fossil. But I've never told anyone before now because I could tell that it was special."
"How?" Callie quietly asked.
"Because I think it formed a connection with me," Robert confessed. "A couple days after I found it, I had rescued a dog from getting run over by a truck when I suddenly felt its energy coursing through me."
"That is interestin'," Callie offered, before admitting, smiling, "Ye told the right person. It's called an Energem."
"'Energem'?" he repeated.
Callie nodded, "Yes, the Yellow Energem, ta be more precise. It's one of eleven and the sixth one found so far."
"But what is an Energem?"
"They're crystals that channel untold powers of the universe," she explained, "but ta be honest, I'm not the right person ta give ye answers. That's best reserved fer Keeper. He's the expert, not me. But I can tell ye that it allows ye ta morph into a Power Ranger."
"Me? A Power Ranger?" Robert asked, surprised yet also excited. "That would mean that I also have a Zord."
Callie nodded, "Yes, the Ankylo Zord."
"Is that the other prescence I keep feeling?" he asked, though it was more directed at himself than at her. "That mechanical dinosaur I keep saw in my dream last night?"
"Ye saw the Ankylo Zord in yer dream?" Callie asked, intrigued at this.
"Yes," Robert said. "It was asking me for help, and I got the feeling that it was in danger."
Callie stood up, "Then let's go find it. If ye can sense its prescence, then there's a good chance ye lead both of us there."
"Sound theory," Robert shrugged before standing up. "Let's test it out."

Dino Base, Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, Amber Beach, California
Shelby entered the base to, sure enough, find Kendall there, working on her laptop. Kendall looked to the entrance when she heard someone slide down and their feet hit the floor.
"You're back early," Kendall commented. "Is everything okay? What happened?"
"What happened is that I came up with an idea on how we can find the other Energems," Shelby replied.
Kendall was immediately skeptical, "Oh really? I think you underestimate how difficult it is to find an Energem." She then turned and walked away.
Shelby, however, was angry, "And I think you underestimate me." Kendall immediately stopped. "I never fit into my family's ice cream business because I was only ever interested in dinosaurs, and I was always teased because of it, by my own family. Now I work here, and ever since I first started, I've been waiting tables, mopping floors, and being a pretty good Pink Ranger, if I do say so myself. Now, I have an idea, and the guys told me to come to you, Ms. Morgan, and I agreed because you sincerely are the only one who can help me. The problem is...that you won't listen."
Kendall was quiet, before softly confessed a deep secret, "I was supposed to get the Pink Energem."
That caught Shelby off-guard, "What?"
Kendall explained, "The plan was to allow me to bond with the Pink Energem once Chase and Koda got it back to the base. It first came up after Chase and Koda's almost-lethal run-in with Fury, and once I bonded to the Energem, I would be able to help the two out on the field, you know, give them an extra set of hands. But then you showed up, and my jealousy and resentment started to take over. So, I'm sorry, Shelby. You never deserved any of that."
Shelby warmly smiled, and Kendall was surprised when the Pink Ranger said, "I forgive you, Ms. Morgan, and one doesn't need to be a Ranger to be useful. I mean, just look at Callie. She helped us beat both Spellbinder and Cavity without even throwing a single punch."
Kendall thought about this before returning Shelby's smile, "Thank you, Shelby. Now, I'm listening. What's your idea?"
A flustered Shelby replied with, "Okay, well, uh...we combine the known facts about the six remaining dinosaurs. You know, climate, known breeding ground, food sources - stuff I know - with a global scan of energy signatures for each of those dinosaur's Energems. That stuff I thought you could help me figure out."
Kendall's mind immediately went to work, "Global scan of energy signatures? Highly doubtful. Unless, of course, we..." A lightbulb went off in her head, "Yes." Her body then went to work as well, "Although that would require DNA samples, and the processing power required would limit us to just one dinosaur at a time." She stopped and turned around to address Shelby, "Well? Are you going to watch or help?"
Shelby smiled, "Let's start with the Ankylosaurus, and see if we can find the Yellow Energem."
"Very well," Kendall replied, before grabbing a folder and pulling out a page with a sketch on it.
"What is that?" Shelby asked, intrigued, as she took the glass jar containing a ankylosaurus DNA sample.
"A idea Callie had," Kendall explained, before showing Shelby the sketch. It was of a device that looked slim and sleek, and the name Callie gave it was 'E-Tracer'. "She said that it's supposed to be an Energem tracker, and she gave it to me in hopes that I could figure out if it's possible to build it. I've been stuck on it, until now. Perhaps, you and I could combine efforts to bring it to life."
Shelby nodded, "Let's do it." She was more than happy to do this. She was excited.
Kendall explained in detail what they needed to do, and if one thing came out of this, it was definitely the fact that Shelby had gained a lot more appreciation and gratitude for how hard Kendall worked.
They first needed to blend the ankylosaurus DNA sample with the energy signatures from the first five Dino Chargers. This would create the first Ankylo Charger. Kendall also explained that the Yellow Energem would allow them to create more powerful Ankylo Chargers once they found it, but this shortcut would allow them to create a Charger strong enough to temporarily power their E-Tracer while it looked for the Yellow Energem.
Which was fine, because that's all what they needed it to do for the time being.
Shelby was the one who scrapped off the DNA sample and created the Ankylo Charger, while Kendall went to work on building the E-Tracer with titanium.
She had also asked Kendall if their Charger would be able to power the Ankylo Zord, but Kendall didn't believe so, further explaining that they, once again, needed the Energem for that.
Shelby quickly noted something interesting about Callie's sketch, "This says that there's a weak spot somewhere. But where?"
"I don't know. The sketch itself doesn't say," Kendall admitted, "but I built it with titanium like Callie said to do."
Shelby waved it off with, "We'll just have to ask her about it when she comes back."
After a couple more hours of tinkering with it, the two ladies tested it out.
And it worked.
The two smiled at each other, just as they heard somebody sliding down into the base. Sure enough, it was Tyler, Chase, Koda, and Riley returning from the dig.
"Hey, guys!" Shelby greeted them. "Find anything?"
"I think I find poison ivy," Koda replied.
"Well, we had a successful day," Kendall told them.
"You know that idea I had earlier that I couldn't figure out how to implement?" Shelby asked.
"Yeah," Tyler replied. "Did you?"
"Thanks to Ms. Morgan," Shelby said, "and Callie, yes. I did." She presented to them what she just created, "Say hello to the new Ankylo Charger. It's the brain that runs our new invention." She and Kendall stepped away to reveal it, "The E-Tracer."
The guys all gathered around it as Shelby placed the Ankylo Charger into the slot. As she did so, Riley caught a glimpse of Callie's original sketch and, like Shelby and Kendall before him, also noted something, "So Callie designed this?"
"She sure did," Shelby replied.
"That's pretty cool," Riley said. "I'd also like to ask her where this weak point that she indicates is."
"So do we," Kendall admitted, before turning the machine on, "but it's just something we'll have to ask her when she returns." She checked her watch, "Which will be this evening, since I gave her the day off."
The machine whirred to life, and they all watched in exciement.
"It's using the satellite network, trying to find an Energem signature," Shelby explained, as the E-Tracer did so. "I can't believe it's working. It's searching for traces of the Yellow Energem."
Data was fed back to them on the machine's monitor, data that Kendall was studying. She smiled, "It's locking on to something." After a few more seconds, Kendall turned it off, having gotten all the data she needed. "That's definitely the right energy signature, but I can't say if it's an Energem. It might be a Zord."
Riley looked at the location and noted, "Hey, that's not too far away from here."
Shelby led the way, "Then let's go! And this time, boys, we're going to dig in the right place."

Old Deboth Castle, Amber Beach, California
Poisandra watched with glee as Fury backed away from Sledge, trying to defend himself from his boss's temper.
"Patience, Master Sledge," Fury said. "It takes time to find the Energems. They could be buried anywhere."
"If it's so difficult," Sledge asked, "then how did the Rangers find five of them so fast?! Get me the Energems or I'll turn you into dinner!" Sledge then walked away, scoffing, "Pathetic..." as he walked by.
Fury slinked out of the room, as Poisandra walked over to Wrench, commenting, "I'm so glad it's not me Sledge is mad at."
"Me too," Wrench replied, before she noticed that his attention was fixated on the screen in front of him.
"What's wrong?" She asked him, genuinely curious as to what he was looking at.
"Our radar has picked up a satellite wave," Wrench revealed.
"That's no big deal, though," Poisandra said, "given with all the satellites in orbit."
"True," Wrench said, before explaining, "but this one has the energy signature of an Energem."
Poisandra gasped, "An Energem? Really?"
"Yeah," Wrench replied. "It seems like the Rangers are searching for one right now."
"Did they find anything?" Poisandra asked.
"Yep," he answered. "Something big."
Poisandra then snapped her fingers, "I have an idea. Cover for me, Wrench. I'm going into town!" She turned around and exited the room, calling out for "Stingrage! I have a job for you!"
She didn't notice passing Fury on the way.

Rocky Hill Forest, Amber Beach, California
The five Rangers walked through the forest to the area Shelby's Dino Comm was directing them towards. Shelby relayed, "It's right up ahead."
All of a sudden, a man in yellow flannel jumped down from a high ledge next to them. Callie appeared at the top of the ledge, and asked the man, "And ye're supposed ta be a teacher? That's a high jump."
"Part time," the man corrected.
Callie quickly noticed that they had company, and smiled, "Hey, guys! Perfect timin'!"
"Hey, Cal!" Shelby greeted, as Callie jumped off the ledge and into Chase's waiting arms. "Who's this?"
"Robert Baldwin," Callie revealed, "yer Yellow Ranger." She merely smiled at the five's shocked faces and turned to the man, "It's okay. Ye can trust them."
Choosing to trust her, Robert reached into his pocket and pulled out the Yellow Energem, faintly glowing in his hand. But it shone brighter when the five younger adults pulled out their own Energems out from under their shirts.
"I take it you guys are Rangers too," Robert said with a smile.
"We sure are," Tyler greeted him. "I'm Tyler. This is Shelby," she waved, "Riley," he nodded, "Chase," he also nodded, "and Koda," who waved excitedly.
"Yes, welcome to our team!" Koda said with a big smile.
"Where'd you find him, Cal?" Riley asked the Irishgirl.
"At the park," Callie replied. "We started talkin' and I noticed that he had an Energem. Right now, we're tryin' ta see if we can find the Ankylo Zord. He thinks it may be in trouble." She turned to Robert, "Ye sure it's around here?"
"Positive," Robert replied, looking in the same direction that Shelby's coordinates were in.
"What a coincidence," Shelby realized. "I think we're on the tail of the Ankylo Zord right now." She addressed Robert directly, "Shall we?"
"Let's go," he said.
As the two continued to trek forward, the guys turned to Callie, who just smiled. Chase returned it with a knowing smile of his own, "So, you found him, Callie, at the park?"
To be honest, they had their reservations about Robert. How effective was he as a Ranger? Was he purely altruistic, or was his kindness rare? The only thing they knew was that Callie had befriended him. And if Callie trusted him, then they knew that it was safe to take a chance, at least.
But that didn't mean that they wouldn't protect Callie if Robert ever betrayed them (but they were confident that would never happen).
Callie pursed her lips as she clasped her hands behind her back, before answering Chase's question, "Yep. And I found him all by myself."
"Haha," Chase sassed back. "C'mon."
He held out an arm, and Callie went over and let Chase wrap it around her shoulders. Koda, Tyler, and Riley followed the two with a smile.
Eventually, they came upon a clearing, with a giant hole in the ground.
"This is where the coordinates are," Shelby told them.
"The Ankylo Zord is down that hole," Robert added.
The group slowly approached it, on edge, as Tyler cautiously noted, "It looks like somebody else beat us to it."
Chase slowly pushed Callie behind him, sensing danger.
But out of the blue, Robert suddenly collapsed, holding his head in pain. Callie immediately called out to him in concern, "Robert!" and ran to him, just as Poisandra and a green insect monster leapt out of the hole, several Vivix leaping out after them.
"Sorry, Rangers," the monster said. "But I'm afraid you've been beaten to the Ankylo Zord by me, the Executioner Stingrage."
The five Rangers got into fighting stances and charged in to fight the Vivix without morphing.
Koda kicked several Vivix before back flipping away.
Tyler fought another set of Vivix with his fists.
Riley caught one of their weapons before kicking it and swinging another away.
Shelby fought her group with her powerful kicks.
Meanwhile, Chase wasn't having any trouble at all, but his group of Vivix slowly led him farther away from Callie and Robert.
This allowed Stingrage to walk up to Callie, who was kneeling beside a hunched over Robert, who was still in pain from whatever was going on.
"Out of my way, puny girl," Stingrage said to her, and she glanced up at him as he stood directly over her. "There's no way you can protect this man or his Energem by yourself!"
Callie stood up, her fists raised and ready to fight, "I can sure try."
She threw the first punch, which Stingrage easily caught and quickly twisted around and held behind her back. Callie tried not to let out a cry of pain, and kind of failed.
"Callie!" she heard Shelby call out.
Stingrage whispered in Callie's ear, "There's no way you can stop me, human. The difference in our power is too great."
She couldn't fail now. If she did, then Robert would probably be destroyed and Stingrage would have the Yellow Energem. Her brother's friends taught her a certain move to do whenever she was in this situation, and she wasn't sure if this move would work on monsters like Stingrage, but she had to try.
She first elbowed him in the throat, and when he hunched over slightly, she then elbowed him where the sun never shone (and she heard the male Rangers gasp in sudden sympathy when she did). She then turned around and punched him in the face. She was incredibly grateful when Stingrage collapsed on the ground, whimpering out, "No fair...that was below the belt..."
Callie immediately stepped away from Stingrage, but never let down her guard, and she told him, "My brother once told me that there's no such thing as a 'fair fight'."
"Don't be afraid ta fight dirty, Sis, because they sure as hell won't."
She was prepared to fight dirty if it meant surviving long enough to protect Robert and his Energem.
Immediately, Shelby was at her side, checking on her, and yelling out, "Don't let him escape! He did something to the Ankylo Zord!"
Tyler ran past the two girls to fight Stingrage himself, after tossing aside a Vivix.
Riley checked his Dino Comm and relayed the data he found, "Whatever he did to the Ankylo Zord is affecting Robert too!"
By this time, Stingrage had recovered from Callie's dirty move, and he was fighting Tyler head on. As Tyler threw in a kick or two, he demanded, "What did you do to them?!"
Stingrage dodged Red's next strike before grabbing him by the back of the shirt, "That's for me to know and you to find out." He then tossed Tyler aside.
Tyler rolled across the ground, but was stopped and helped up by Chase, as Koda cartwheeled towards their enemy and fought him directly.
Stingrage dodged all his attacks, impressed, "Not bad, Ranger. But not good enough." He then used his staff to fire a shot at Koda.
The shot hit Koda directly in his back, and the Blue Ranger cried out in pain before tumbling to the ground.
Callie ran to Koda, filled with concern, "Koda! Are ye alright?"
She leaned over him as he slowly got back up, but a sudden force from Koda's fist broke her nose and sent her stumbling backwards.
Chase caught her and carefully guided her to the ground, where she sat for the next few minutes and waited for her system to re-oriente itself. "You okay, Callie?" she heard Chase ask.
Her eyes were closed and her hands were holding her nose. "Ow..." was all she could say.
"Leave Koda to us," he told her before racing over to help the others subdue their Blue Ranger. She could only nod, despite him already being gone.
Stingrage's last words where, "Bye, bye! Have fun fighting your friend!" She didn't hear him anymore after this, so she could only assume that he took this chance to retreat.
Callie managed to endure the pain enough to open her eyes, and was just in time to see Koda flipping Riley over, before punching Tyler several times as the Red Ranger pleaded for him to stop. Koda sent Tyler spinning into the air.
As Tyler fell, Chase raced over and fell onto the ground to break Tyler's fall, even though Tyler landing directly on his back really hurt.
Shelby was watching and wondering, "What's gotten into him?" She then hurried over to Koda, but he pushed her away.
Riley tried to calm Koda down, reluctant to hurt his friend, only to end up being struck by him.
Tyler and Chase rushed forward and each grabbed one of Koda's arms. "Get him on the ground!" Tyler said, as he kicked Koda's legs out from underneath him. Chase used his strength to force Koda onto his back.
Callie turned back to Robert, who was still hunched over in pain. Still holding her nose, she slowly got up and limped over to him.
"Robert..." she whimpered. "Ye alright?" Please don't attack me like Koda did, she mentally pleaded.
He didn't. He instead quietly replied, "No. My head hurts..."
"Did he take yer Energem?"
Robert only shook his head. Callie let slip a slight sigh of relief, before turning back to the scuffle with Koda.
Koda flipped his way back to his feet and kicked Riley and Shelby away when they tried to help.
"There's something on his back!" Tyler called out, before he and Chase grabbed Koda's arms and pushed him to the ground.
Koda easily shook them off and got back up, but Chase and Riley tried to hold him still.
This gave Riley the perfect chance to see what Tyler was referring to, "It's some kind of stinger. Pull it out!"
Tyler grabbed Koda by the waist and held him still as Shelby ran up from behind and pulled the stinger out from Koda's back.
Immediately, Koda's rage left him.
As he, Tyler, and Riley let go of Koda, Chase asked, "You okay, mate?"
Koda shakily replied, "Yes, I am okay. Why you hug me?" He trailed off, however, when he saw the stinger in Shelby's hands.
Riley and Chase both raced over to Callie and Robert. As Riley checked on Robert, Koda watched carefully as Chase knelt down next to Callie. He couldn't hear the words they were speaking, but he could tell that Chase was checking on her to see if she was okay.
His heart violently jumped with guilty when, at one point, Chase gently took Callie's hand away from her nose, revealing a bloody mess underneath. It was brief, as Callie immediately placed her hand back over it, but it was enough Koda to start spiraling into guilt.
"I...did that?" he asked the other three.
Shelby wordlessly nodded. Koda hung his head in shame, before Tyler said, "It wasn't your fault, though."
Koda looked to Shelby as she showed him the stinger.
His guilt began to go away, but it wasn't gone entirely. He still needed Callie and Chase's forgiveness.
Just then, the ground started shaking underneath, a yellow Ankylo Zord popped out from the hole.
The group just watched as it roared out.
Robert quietly called out, "Ankylo?"
But the Ankylo Zord swung its hammer tail down on the group, and they all quickly leapt out of the way, Callie ushered by Chase, and Robert ushered by Riley.
"That is one angry Zord..." Riley commented.
As it burrowed its way back down into the hole, Shelby wondered, "But why would it attack us? Why would it attack its own Ranger?"

This time, it was Fury's chance to smugly watch as Sledge start threateningly advance on Poisandra, "Let me get this straight from what Fury told me! You took Stingrage without permission! And then you led a mission without any success!"
"Can't hide it, Pinkie," Fury smirked at her. "You're really in for it now."
Poisandra humphed triumphantly, "I won't deny any of that, Sledge-ums, but I bet Fury didn't tell you that we almost caught the Blue Ranger. Or that we found the Ankylo Zord before the Rangers did and stung it. Or that it's now on our side."
"She's right," Stingrage quickly stuck up for her. "My stinger made the Zord go crazy. It nearly destroyed the Rangers."
Fury quickly found himself disappointed when his plan to get Poisandra in trouble backfired, as Sledge said, "Impressive. You stung a Zord. Not bad. But I'm afraid it's not good enough. I'll give you a second chance, Stingrage, to bring me an Energem. If you fail me this time, you'll be placed in Solitary. Got it?"
Stingrage was shaking with fear, "Yes, of course, Master Sledge."

Robert had been placed on their couch, and while Kendall worked on her laptop, the Rangers sat at the picnic table. Chase was patching up Callie's broken nose.
"The Energem, the Zord, and the Ranger are all connected," Keeper was explaining. "The Energem is the source, the Zord is the weapon, and the Ranger is the warrior. They establish a trifecta that must work together to work properly, and if one goes down, the others are effected as well."
"So, that's why Robert is being affected by whatever Stingrage did to the Ankylo Zord," Riley realized.
"Correct," Keeper said. "And in order for the pain to be transferred from Zord to Ranger, it had to have been a powerful attack."
"Well, Stingrage did say that he was an Executioner," Shelby reminded them. "It makes sense."
"What our top priority right now is the Ankylo Zord," Keeper said. "It shares the Yellow Energem's power and would not normally attack us."
Koda glanced over at the stinger that was in his back. It was in a case now, protecting them all from it, but it gave him an idea, "Maybe monster sting Zord. Like it sting me."
"That would explain it," Tyler agreed.
Riley added, "If so, then we need to remove the stinger."
"Good luck," Chase quietly stated, having just finished patching Callie's nose up. "Did you guys see the size of that thing?"
Shelby stood up, "I'll do it."
Tyler immediately stood up after her, protesting, "No way!"
Shelby turned around to face him, "Why not?"
"It's too dangerous!" Tyler told her, sternly. "I don't want you getting hurt."
"Robert's life is on the line," Shelby reminded him. "Someone has to do it. Besides, it's my stupid E-Tracer that somehow screwed up and gave the Zord's location to Sledge."
She started to walk away, but she was stopped by Kendall, "Actually," Shelby stopped and turned around to look her Kendall, who slowly took her glasses off, "your device worked brilliantly, Shelby. Sledge got the location of the Zord because I didn't encrypt the E-Tracer's code. It's my fault we lost control of the Ankylo Zord. But don't worry," she swallowed hard, "I'll find a solution. Somehow."
Clearly upset, Kendall walked past the group, only for Shelby to grab her wrist, "Why are you going alone? It's too dangerous!"
Callie quickly jumped in and interrupted them, "In-fighting will not help Robert at all. Find a way ta work together."
Kendall looked hard at Shelby and said, "I'm going alone. And that's final."
Shelby saw a grief glimpse of pleading in the elder woman's eyes before she turned around to leave. As if Kendall was begging Shelby to understand her position, or understand something else.
It was that emotion that prompted Shelby to sneak out after her.
Callie sighed after the two left, frustrated at their lack of cohesion in this situation.
"Callie..." she turned to Koda when he spoke her name, "I very sorry for hurting you."
Callie smiled at him, despite how much it hurt her broken nose to do so, "Don't worry about it, Koda. I'm not worried about that."
"Are you worried about Robert?" Riley asked her, as Chase put away the first aid kit.
Callie's silence, and her averting her eyes, spoke volumes.
"He'll be okay, Cal," Tyler reassured.
Callie softly smiled as Robert suddenly spoke up, "He's right." The five turned to him and walked over to the couch, where he was lying down. Robert continued, his voice slow and slurred, indicating that he was still ill, "Don't worry about me. Get your mind on something else."
"Okay," Callie said, before turning her attention to the E-Tracer. "So, Ms. Morgan and Shelby used my sketch?"
"Yep," Tyler said. "And it works perfectly."
"Although, we do have to ask," Riley asked, "where this mysterious weak spot is?"
Callie giggled, before grimacing and gripping her nose in pain, "Nice try, Riles. That's a secret."
"Is there even a weak spot at all?" Riley continued.
"Riley!" He stopped, before she finished, "Let it go."
Just then, Kendall's laptop began to beep. Callie rushed over and pressed a few buttons before relaying, "Nonhuman biosigns where the Ankylo Zord is. Ms. Morgan and Shelby are there too."
The four guys rushed out of the base, grabbing their Energems on the way. Tyler called out to Callie one last time, saying, "Look after Robert!"
She nodded, before slipping on Kendall's earpiece.

After a drive, Kendall got out of the museum truck and went to the trunk to get some supplies. When she lifted up the canvas, she got a bit of a jumpscare.
There was Shelby, hiding under it.
But Kendall quickly regained her composure. "Stowing away, Shelby, is a really bad idea," she said as she grabbed a bundle of rope.
"Point taken," Shelby agreed and added, "but going after the Ankylo Zord alone is also a bad idea."
"I rarely make mistakes," Kendall replied, as she took out a shovel, a hoe, and a pick. "But when I do, I correct them. No excuses."
She then walked away, and Shelby jumped out and followed her to the giant hole made by the Ankylo Zord.
As Kendall tied the rope about the base of a nearby tree, Shelby said, "Look, Callie's right. We created this problem together, so let's solve it together."
Kendall didn't deny this, only saying, "I simply cannot be responsible for sending you down this hole. It's just too dangerous."
"May I remind you who's a Ranger and who's not?" Shelby sassed back. "I'd be safer than you."
"It took four of you to subdue Koda, who, may I add, also broke Callie's nose," Kendall softly reminded her, "and the Ankylo Zord is a lot more powerful than a human."
"Then, let's call the others for help," Shelby gently shot back. "We are a team, after all."
Kendall was about to answer when the two were engulfed in explosions. The two covered their heads with their arms, and waited for the smoke to dissipate, before looking to see what had happened.
Stingrage, with Poisandra and Curio next to him, along with a whole posse of Vivix.
"I'd get away from that hole if I were you," Stingrage said. "But I'm not you. So I have no regrets about doing this!"
He then raised his staff towards the two ladies and fired lasers at them. Shelby pushed Kendall out of the way, so she was the only one hit by the lasers.
Kendall watched in horror as the force of the explosions around them caused Shelby to be knocked into the hole.
"Ha! Hole in one, Stingrage!" Poisandra cheered. "Vivix, destroy the human!"
It took Kendall a second to realize that Poisandra meant her, so she quickly got up and grabbed the shovel she brought with her.
The Vivix surrounded her, and she hit several of them with her shovel.
Eventually, she was surrounded, but she dropped to the grass beneath and rolled out of the circle.
Once free, she took of running.
She was tough, yes, but she was nowhere near a match for all of these monsters by herself.
~B~R~E~A~K~~T~H~E~~C~H~A~I~N~S~~T~H~A~T~~D~I~V~I~D~E~~D~I~N~O~~C~H~A~R~G~E~~R~E~D~O~
Shelby managed to morph before she hit the ground, fortunately saving her life. She dusted herself off as she got up.
"Thank goodness I'm a Ranger," Shelby commented to no one in particular.
The area in front of her was pitch black, which made it all the more frightening when a red glowing eye suddenly appeared within it.
Shelby gasped, "The Ankylo Zord!"
The Zord slowly walked closer to her, growling, clearly defensive.
"Hello, Ankylo," Shelby cautiously greeted it. "You're a vegetarian...remember?"
It didn't stop growling. It only got closer, the light finally revealing its form.
She spotted the stinger in Ankylo's neck, and she suddenly got an idea.
"Hi, Ankylo," she said. "My name is Shelby, the Ranger that shares the same power as your friend, Tricera." She held a pink Charger behind her back and activated it.
But Ankylo didn't stop.
Shelby continued, "I suppose it's rude to keep calling you an 'it'. Judging by your features, you're a female, aren't you?"
Ankylo roared loudly before charging at Shelby, only to be stopped by Tricera herself.
"Tricera!" Shelby smiled underneath her helmet, before throwing her Zord the Charger she just activated.
Shelby could only watch as the two Zords duked it out.

Kendall raced through the forest, trying to find someplace to hide as she outran the Vivix chasing her.
Pretty soon, they caught up with her and once more, she fought them off with her shovel. Despite her getting exhausted, she continued fighting anyways.
Deep down, she knew the others were probably on their way. The alarm on her laptop would've told them that Stingrage had reappeared. But right now, the panic she was feeling was clouding her mind to any logical and rational behavior. She was only feeling the need to survive.
"Surprise!" Stingrage suddenly jumped out in front of her and fired his staff.
The blasts knocked her off her feet and the shovel out of her hands.
Now on the ground and slightly injured, Kendall couldn't get up in time to avoid whatever Stingrage planned to through at her next.
"One little sting, human," the monster said, "and it will all be over."
She believed him. This was it. This was her final moments.
"Destroy her!" Poisandra ordered, and Stingrage fired his staff.
Kendall cowered in fear and waited for death.
But she was never hit.
She heard someone step in and deflected the blasts towards Stingrage, Poisandra, and the Vivix.
"Nice moves, Ms. Morgan!"
She opened her eyes to see Tyler (fully morphed) standing in front of her, holding the shovel she was forced to drop. "Tyler?"
She saw Chase join Tyler, as Koda and Riley helped her on her feet, and she couldn't stop herself from giving them grateful smile.
"You okay?" Koda asked her.
"I am now," she replied. "Thank you. But Shelby fell in the hole."
Tyler immediately panicked, "She's down there with the Ankylo Zord?!" Kendall only nodded, and Tyler immediately took off running, as he pleaded, "Hold on, Shelby! I'm coming!"
Riley turned to Kendall, "Do you think you can do an underground scan?"
"From the base, yes," she answered.
"Then go," Chase told her. "We'll cover your escape."
She gratefully nodded before taking off running.
Tyler was stopped by Stingrage leaping down right in front of him. "Out of my way, you overgrown insect!" Tyler yelled.
"What's wrong?" Stingrage taunted. "Afraid to lose someone you care about?"
Tyler's fists immediately tightened in anger and frustration.
"Stay strong, Tyler," came Callie's calming voice over the Comm. "There has been no concerning change ta Shelby's vitals."
She's fine, she's okay, Tyler mentally told himself.
Chase, Koda, and Riley ran up and took fighting positions next to him, and Tyler immediately comforted. He wasn't alone. He never was.
"There's nothing wrong with wanted to protect someone, Stingrage," Tyler finally shot back. "But I choose to trust Shelby. She works smarter, not harder."
The four then charged into the fight. Koda and Riley fought off the Vivix.
Chase went after Poisandra, giving her a kick to her chest. She knocked aside, before charging at him, but he jumped out of the way.
Meanwhile, Tyler took on Stingrage, landing a kick on him. Stingrage used his staff to knock Tyler off his feet before punching him. As Tyler went flying, Stingrage fired several blasts at him from his staff.
As Tyler landed on the pavement hard, Chase, Koda, and Riley quickly kneeled next to him.
Stingrage, flanked by Curio and Poisandra, said, "I'm going to knock you flat, Rangers!" He fired his staff at the four guys, and it all knocked them all off their feet.
Poisandra laughed at their lack of defense, "How pathetic!"
Curio turned to Stingrage with an idea, "How about you sting all four of them? Then they'll destroy each other!"
"Great idea!" Stingrage said.
But before he could do anything else, the ground started shaking. Both parties turned to see the Ankylo and Tricera Zords both burst through the ground, with the Pink Ranger standing on Tricera's head.
"It's over, Stingrage!" Shelby said. "You've stung your last victim!"
She then leapt off, and fired her Morpher at Curio, Stingrage, Poisandra as she flew through the air, knocking them to the ground.
The guys raced up to Shelby as soon as she landed, and Tyler immediately wrapped her in a hug.
"We're so glad you're okay, Shelby!" Tyler was relieved, and butterflies appeared in his stomach when he felt her hug him back.
"It's okay," Shelby calmly replied. "We're okay. Tricera held Ankylo down long enough for me to get the stinger out."
Tyler reluctantly broke the hug as Koda grabbed her shoulders and said, "We so glad you here, Shelby. Next time, we work smarter."
Shelby giggled, "Yeah." She then turned to their enemies, who were starting to get up, "Now, let's finish this!"
"You'll pay for that!" Stingrage told them.
Tyler lead the rollcall, "Power Rangers, Charged! Tyrannosaurus Rex, Power Ranger Red!"
"Parasaur, Power Ranger Black!"
"Stegosaurus, Power Ranger Blue!"
"Velociraptor, Power Ranger Green!"
"Triceratops, Power Ranger Pink!"
"Dinosaur Might, Ready to Fight! Power Rangers: Dino Charge!"
"It's about to get wild!" Shelby announced.
The five Rangers charged in to start the real fight.

Callie was standing over him when Robert woke up. "Callie?" he asked, and she smiled. "What happened?"
"Ye're safe now," Callie explained as he sat up. "The Ankylo Zord is okay, thanks to Shelby."
Robert smiled, before admitting, "The last thing I remember was collapsing in pain. I don't remember anything after that, until now." He started to panic as he felt his pockets.
"Don't worry," she quickly said, before pointing over to the Charging Station. "Yer Energem is right there."
"You said that I trusted the right person," Robert told her, and smiled. "And now I know for sure that you're correct."
Robert stood up as Callie walked over to the Charging Station. She picked up three yellow Chargers and gave them to him, "These are Ankylo Chargers, made from the power of the Yellow Energem itself, by yers truly. They help ye morph, power attacks, and power up Ankylo too."
Robert smiled and asked, "Am I allowed to go out and help them now?"
"Do ye feel up ta it?" Callie asked.
"I do."
"Then go," Callie said. "They're at Rocky Hill Forest."
He quickly walked towards the exit, as Kendall entered the base, and he turned and said, "Thank you, Callie."
Callie smiled as he left. Kendall turned to her and asked, "He's got a lot of energy, doesn't he?"
"He sure does," Callie replied. "Update: Shelby pulled the stinger out of the Ankylo Zord."
Kendall breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness. I will leave watching the fight to you, Callie. In the meantime, I'm going to work on encoding the E-Tracer's signal."
Callie couldn't help but feel that everything would be okay now.

The guys performed a group "Dino Morpher Blast" to destroy the rest of the Vivix.
Meanwhile, Shelby took on Stingrage. She used her right foot to send multiple jabs to his face, before switching to her left. After to kicks, she switched back to her left, first kicking his chain and then his chest. She then twirled around and delivered one last kick to his chest.
He landed on the ground hard, and Shelby took out her Morpher, "Dino Steel, Armor On!"
"Now, you're really bugging me!" Stingrage said, as he got to his feet.
"Tricera Drill!" Shelby called, as her Drill whirled up with pink energy. She charged at him, piercing him with her Drill right through his chest.
He cried out in pain, "Looks like I got stung this time."
Shelby pulled her Drill out and proudly stood with her back to the explosion that resulted.
As the guys joined her, Curio pulled out her canister, "Time for some luck, I guess."
"Nice job, Shelby," Tyler told her.
"Thanks!"
Just then, in front of them, Stingrage grew to giant size.
Tyler pulled out a red Charger, "Summon T-Rex Zord!"
Rexy immediately appeared on the screen, Tricera not far after him.
Stingrage used his staff to fire at the two Zords, but the Zords were unfazed.
Rexy shut his jaws on Stingrage. The monster tried to pry himself lose, but couldn't. "I guess, it's your turn to get stung!"
"Oh no! Watch out for his stingers!" Tyler shouted at his Zord.
"Leave this one to me!" came Robert's voice. The five young adults turned to him.
"Robert, you're okay!" Shelby said.
"Yes, thanks to all of you," Robert replied. "Now, let Ankylo and I repay the favor." He then turned around, "Dino Charger, Ready! Energize, ha! Unleash the Power!" Now morphed, he performed his rollcall, "Ankylosaurus, Power Ranger Yellow!"
He then raised his fist into the air, forming a giant yellow-energy hammer.
"Ankylo Hammer Punch!" he swung his fist down, and the giant hammer came down on Stingrage, knocking him to the ground and freeing Rexy.
Robert activated another yellow Charger and threw it to Ankylo. Ankylo caught it in her mouth and jumped up, landing on Rexy's other side.
Robert turned to Tyler and Shelby, "Combine T-Rex and Tricera with Ankylo."
Tyler gave him a thumbs up, "Great idea!"
Shelby made the call, "Activate Dino Charge Megazord: TriAnkylo Formation!"
Ankylo took Stego's place and formed the right arm of the mentioned Megazord. Inside the cockpit, Robert's podium was in between Tyler and Koda's.
"Wow!" Shelby was excited. "This combo's powerful! I can feel it!"
Stingrage mocked them, "That's what you're going to fight me with?! Ha! This will be a piece of cake!"
He then rushed at the Megazord. After clashing a couple times, Shelby called, "Tricera Drill!", making Stingrage fall backwards.
"Ankylo Hammer!" Robert called, and Stingrage struggled to stay upright after the impact.
"Ankylo very strong," Koda said.
"Time for the finisher," Tyler said.
"Ankylo Zord: Final Hammer Punch!"
The six Rangers twirled around and motioned upwards. The Megazord forced Stingrage into the sky, where he exploded safely.
"Monster Instinct!" Tyler announced.
The Rangers celebrated, before Robert said, "Thank you, everyone, for saving me. Your combined energy compliments your skills. I wish I had friends as good as you all."
"But you do have friends as good as us," Tyler pointed out. "Because we are your friends."
Underneath, Robert simply smiled.

"How did you manage how to find a Zord?!" Fury demanded to Poisandra.
Poisandra remained calm, however, knowing she could easily take him on if he ever decided to attack. "That's for me to know and you to find out. If you can."
"Tell me!" Fury yelled. "Stop acting so high and mighty! You're not that great!"
Poisandra scoffed, "Says the one who was never able to get a single Energem in 65 million years."
Fury raised his sword, about to strike her, but he stopped when they heard Sledge call out, "Poisandra! Get in here! I need you!"
Fury lowered his sword as Poisandra laughed. Just before she headed out, "Maybe I'm smarter than you think. Better watch your back from now on."
She skipped out as he slammed his fist into a wall out of anger and frustration.

Callie (who was trying hard to resist the urge to scratch her nose right now, due to it still being broken) and Keeper both watched as Robert packed up his bag.
"I'm sad ta see ye go," Callie said.
"Sorry," Robert apologized, "but I'm needed elsewhere."
"Correct," Keeper explained. "Due to his background and expertise in archeology, he must be our eyes out in the world. There's a chance he can find other Energems that we can't."
"He's right," Robert added. "But I'm leaving Ankylo behind to help you, and if you need me for emergencies, I will return in a heartbeat. I promise."
He then took his Energem from the Station.
"Until we meet again."
He nodded, and she returned the gesture.

Callie walked to the cafe, where the Rangers were, from the base. She took a detour through the kitchen in order to grab drinks for them. She had news from Kendall and Keeper, news they didn't know yet.
"Sure is hot today," Riley said.
"It's summer," Tyler replied. "What did you expect?"
"Good thing I brought drinks then, huh?" Callie announced herself, and she instantly greeted with smiles.
She set the tray down at the table first before sitting down herself. Tyler and Chase were on one side, and Koda and Riley on the other, and all four of them immediately reached for a cup, leaving two on the tray.
"Good news," she said after she grabbed a cup herself, "Kendall fixed the E-Tracer, so Sledge can't steal our data anymore."
"Good," Riley said. "I really don't want a repeat of yesterday."
Shelby entered the cafe, and sighed as she sat down at the empty chair, "Man, is it hot today."
The four guys slowly slid their drinks away from her.
Shelby was not amused, "Very funny." Callie shook her head, before sliding the unclaimed cup from the tray over to Shelby. When Shelby caught it, she smiled at the guys smugly, "Thank you, Cal."
Tyler smiled back at her, as Riley said, "Your guys' invention is going to help our search a lot. I mean, it's genius."
Shelby smiled back, flattered.
Koda grabbed a placemat and pencil and began drawing, "My grandfather was famous caveman. He invent complicated machine too."
"Really?" Shelby asked, impressed.
"Yes," Koda said, before showing them is drawing, "it called wheel."
Everyone laughed.
Shelby asked Callie one more time, "Cal, are you ever going to tell us where that weak spot is?"
Callie merely shook her head as she took a drink.
"Why not?" Riley asked.
"Because I told her not to," Kendall announced her arrival. They six turned to her, noting that she was holding a large present. Kendall continued, "I did my research and I figured out that without that weakness, the E-Tracer wouldn't work properly. So, if our enemies ever figure out how to replicate it, then only one person in the entire world knows how to make it work."
"Ah," Chase understood, "so it's basically a fail-safe."
"Correct," Kendall said. "The E-Tracer is a very valuable machine, given it's purpose, so all lengths must be taken to protect it."
Shelby held up a fist for Kendall to bump, "We crushed it, Kendall."
Kendall made no comment on the name choice, nor did she bump Shelby's fist. She just replied with, "Yes, we did...crush it." Shelby gave up and lowered her fist, as Kendall continued, "Because of your recent invention, Shelby, the museum has a gift for you. A fossil from your favorite dinosaur."
Shelby immediately gasped, barely containing her excitement, "A triceratops fossil?!" She opened the gift, removed the tissue paper, and picked up the fossil, only to become confused, "Um...I don't recognize this fossil."
Kendall didn't know what to say, but Koda said it for her, "That is poop."
"Yes, Koda," Kendall smiled. "A coprolite. It's a very rare specimen."
"Dino dung? Ew!" Shelby dropped it out of disgust, and it broke apart when it hit the floor.
"Now lots of rare specimen," Koda joked, causing Tyler, Chase, Callie, and Riley to laugh.
An understandably disgusted Shelby wiped her hands off on Koda's arm. He gave her a betrayed look, before passing her a napkin.
Kendall stared ahead stoically, choosing to ignore the laughter of the others.

Original PRDC Episode: Let Sleeping Zords Lie
Note: Inner Monster Irony in this Chapter: N/A, due to Stingrage being an Executioner
Robert Baldwin is played by the actor of the same name. Kyoryuger fans might remember him better as Ramirez. I read on IMDB that he was willing to play his own counterpart in Dino Charge, but they refused (I wish they could've at least brought him back as a guest star or something; that would've been cool). Somebody also asked me if Callie was going to be the Yellow Ranger for this story. The answer is still maybe; remember the Purple Energem bonding to both Albert and Kendall.
Also, I turned Shelby's offscreen moment of awesome to a fully fleshed out scene for Shelby. To be honest, I've always wondered how Shelby managed to pull the stinger out of the Ankylo Zord by herself.
The "weak spot" stuff's payoff will be in the next chapter.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please review and tell me what you think!

Season 1, Episode 7: "Double Trouble"
"When Poisandra uses Ranger clones to steal the E-Tracer, she must face down two enemies to keep it in her hands: the Rangers, of course, and Fury."
