A/N: Enjoy the chapter! Sorry you guys had to wait so long.

Disclaimer: I do not own Samurai/Shinkenger or Go-Onger/RPM. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.

Note: If you support Dillon/Summer over Scott/Summer, then you can just skip over those scenes and pretend that Dillon and Summer are still together, if you really want to. It doesn't matter to me, because that's not really the main focus of the team-up.

Also, Did You Know?:The original 'Clash of the Red Rangers' script was originally far longer, clocking in at 75 minutes, so they had to delete some stuff. One of the scenes that had to go was the Samurai team meeting the other RPM Rangers (though they would have all been voiceovers like Scott). Story Editor James W. Bates actually wrote the infamous line "Your team says hi!" as a nod to that deleted scene. Oh, what could have been... (FYI: This information was found on the Den of Geek website.)

Power Rangers: Samurai REDO

Season 2, Special Episode, Part 2: Revenge of Venjix

Junk Ship, Sanzu River, Netherworld

March 14, 2015

On the bank, the Grinders were pouring water from the Sanzu River into a machine, which was connected to a portal Cog had created.

"The Rangers are a slippery bunch," Xandred told Cog, "so I've called in someone to help you." Xandred stared out over the water and saw one of his Nighlocks paddling his way to the ship.

The said Nighlock landed on the ship, "Sergeant Tread reporting for duty. How may I assist you, sir?"

Xandred gave the Nighlock his orders, "Sergeant Tread, I want you to help this, uh, robot, with whatever he requires help with."

Xandred walked away as Tread walked up to Cog, "At your service."

"Impressive," Cog said. "Master Xandred, this is most appreciated. Together, the Rangers will finally be vanquished." Xandred turned to look at him. "They won't know what hit them."

Harbor Village Park, Panorama City, California

March 15, 2015

Scott had left early this morning. He had left a note, thanking the Samurai Rangers for their hospitality, before telling them where he was and why (that he was out finding Professor Cog, the leader of the Grinders from yesterday) and promising to let them know if he was in trouble.

Mia was also pleased to know that the dinner she left Scott that was in the fridge was eaten, and Scott's note had a P.S. that said 'Thanks for the meal'.

Antonio was at the pier now with Light Zord, looking out at the ocean, pondering over Scott's words last night.

'You guys know nothing about war. Venjix was a virus that attacked my dimension about two years ago, forcing every human on the planet to move into a domed city that served as humanity's last protection from the toxic air the robots caused.'

Scott was right, Antonio had to admit. None of the six Samurai Rangers had actually faced war, at least not the way Scott had, and obviously still is.

'We can't let anyone else know Venjix is still alive. That would destroy their hope and everything we all built this past year. My team and I have vowed ourselves to destroy every piece of Venjix with extreme prejudice, until our dying breath.'

Antonio smiled at Scott's dedication, which was so similar to their own. The Samurai Rangers had vowed themselves to rid the world of any and all Nighlock, even if that meant Xandred taking them down with him.

Otherwise, the sacrifices Lauren and her team made, the sacrifices the Grand Shogun and all other Samurai teams before them, would all be for nothing.

"Hey, Boss?" He heard LZ ask.

That's when he heard strange mechanical noises behind him. It was those Grinders that Scott had told them about.

He slowly turned around, his Morpher in hand, and sure enough, a group of Grinders had surrounded him, their weapons out and ready to attack him. He smiled, greeting them like old friends, "Hey, guys! You're not from around here, are you? Go, Gold Samurai!"

And in a flash of gold, he had morphed, the Light Zord in hand.

As Antonio was fighting them with LZ's baton, he muttered, "Man, these motor mouths are tough," before flipping one of the robots to the ground.

"I told you to let me handle them!" came Scott's voice as he leapt into the action, fully morphed.

Antonio struck a Grinder before shooting back, "What else was I supposed to do, hotshot?! They just attacked me out of nowhere!"

Scott paused, letting that sink in. The Grinders had ambushed Antonio, a Samurai Ranger? What as Cog planning then? And what did the Samurai Rangers have to do with it?

"Then, let's deal with them together," Scott told the Gold Ranger as he pressed a button on his belt buckle. "Street Saber!"

He grabbed the sword that appeared in front of him, and quickly rushed into the fray to help.

Antonio had very little choice but to just watch Scott now, as the latter slashed the Grinders left and right with such lethalness that Antonio was becoming quickly ignored, and Antonio was having mixed feelings about this.

"That's right, come at me!" Scott told them. "I'm your opponent, not him!"

On one hand, Antonio was grateful, since Scott was leading them away from him, but on the other, Scott had promoted that the two fight together but was currently doing the opposite of that.

And the Gold Ranger began to worry about this new Ranger. Was Scott really as okay as he said he was?

And Antonio just watched as Scott led the Grinders away from the area, hopefully somewhere safer for any civilians nearby (considering Scott's current mental state, Antonio just couldn't give him the benefit of the doubt).

"He's good," LZ said as the two watched him leave. "Should we respect his choice?"

"The logical side of me says yes," Antonio confessed, "but the emotional side of me says to help anyway."

"Then, let's go," LZ replied, and Antonio began to race after Scott.

Meanwhile, Scott used his Street Saber to slash the Grinders that had followed him. He kicked two before slashing another three. "Back off!" he said before kicking one into a pile of boxes.

He turned to four other Grinders behind him and saw them fire their blasters at him.

"So that's how you want to play, huh?" Scott asked. "Fine!" He then proceeded to shoot them all with his Nitro Blaster.

He spun around, firing his blaster at the rest of them, before watching them all explode, signaling their defeat.

He then called out, "Hey, Cog! Show your face! I know you're here!"

Cog revealed himself in that moment from behind a stack of metal pipes, "Oh, Ranger Red. I see you managed to follow me."

"I told you I'd find you," Scott growled, before turning his blaster into his sword. "Nitro Sword!"

Scott charged forward as Cog shot red lightning from his eyes at him.

Antonio arrived on the scene just in time to see the two clash.

"Antonio!" The Gold Ranger turned to see his five teammates land beside him, all of them fully morphed. Emily was the one who called out to him, and she continued, "Are you okay?"

"Sorry we're late," Jayden added.

"I'm fine, don't worry," Antonio replied, before pointing LZ's baton at the fight in front of them. "We need to worry about Scott." He looked to them for answers.

The five drew their Spin Swords, as Jayden said, "Fight now, talk later!"

Scott watched as the six Samurai, one by one, charged into the fray, while he himself was on his knees, trying to catch his breath.

"What are you guys doing here?" Scott asked.

"Sorry," Jayden replied, catching Cog's sword with his own. "We just can't ignore a fellow Ranger in trouble." He then turned to Cog, "So you're working with the Nighlock?"

"Master Xandred and I have a deal," Cog answered. "And yes, it does involve you Samurai Rangers." He pushed Jayden back, but he was immediately surrounded by all seven Rangers.

Emily felt sick to her stomach as Cog began a typical villain-esque speech.

"After you're destroyed, the human population of this dimension will be squashed like grapes. Just ask Ranger Red there."

"Shut up!" Scott cried out, various memories of that fateful day, when Corinth became the last human city standing, when his brother was killed, when everything changed, running through his mind.

He then charged, his six allies close behind him, but Cog was too good.

After knocking Scott to the ground, Cog attacked them all, "Electro Turbine!"

The cogs made of energy spread out all around the area, managing to hit the six Rangers and knocking them all to the ground.

"You're mine, Cog!" Scott said as he charged in once again, this time fighting on his own.

After knocking Scott back, Cog fired the cannon on his chest, "Electro Cannon!" The attack sent Scott falling and landing next to Jayden.

Scott growled as he and Jayden stood up, but Jayden quickly held a gloved hand out to stop him, "Calm down! Blindly rushing in won't help anything!"

"Shut up!" Scott fired back. "He's a remnant of Venjix! And all pieces of Venjix must be destroyed!"

But to everyone's surprise, Cog began to laugh. "I am not any piece of Venjix, Ranger Red."

Scott lowered his Nitro Sword in confusion. "W-What?"

"Tell me, when your Doctor K found the data that caused her to run off with her tail between her legs," Cog's words made Emily jump in realization, "what did she tell you the data contained?"

Kay and K were the same person, weren't they? It would explain why Kay was feeling so scared right now, and why that fear was so strong, it was making Emily physically ill.

Emily said nothing, as Scott replied, "She told us that it contained proof that your boss Venjix was still alive. Specifically through the 'See-Oh-Gee' program, and it also contained a blueprint of you!"

Through K, Emily realized that 'See-oh-Gee' was C.O.G., causing her to connect the dots easily.

"Ah, so that's how you RPM Rangers named me Cog," the robot realized the same thing Emily did. "But what else did she tell you?"

"Nothing else," Scott replied. "That was it, and that's all we needed to know!"

"There's something else she didn't tell you," Cog replied, and Emily immediately felt K's overwhelming guilt return. "That there's a piece of me within you..."

"Huh?" Scott was understandably confused. "That doesn't make sense at all! You're just a small fraction of Venjix, so how can a piece of you be inside me!"

"Because he's not a piece of Venjix at all, Scott," Emily suddenly cried out, causing everyone else to turn to her. She was shaking, just as she knew K would be if she were in her own body. "He's a lot more dangerous than that."

Scott was still evidentally confused, and now the others were too.

"Interesting," Cog said, catching Emily's attention. "The goody two-shoes is the one who figures it out. She's right, Ranger Red. I'm not part of Venjix."

The next words seemed to make the entire basis of time halt in its tracks.

"I am Venjix!"

"What?!" Scott cried out. "You're lying!"

"I'm afraid not," Venjix replied. "C.O.G. is an abbreviation of 'Contingency Opponent Golem'. You are aware of what 'contingency' means, correct?"

Antonio replied with, "'A provision for an unforeseen event or circumstance'. This means that he was prepared for his defeat, Scott."

"They're correct, Ranger Red, so it's time to accept defeat," Venjix continued. "Why do you still stand? It's like you never seem to know when you're beat."

"It's simple," Scott answered, after a moment of silence. "I'm not beat. That's what you tin cans don't get. You may be clever, Venjix, but I'm a Power Ranger. I'll never give up!"

And he charged into the fight once more, as his words haunted Jayden.

"A true Ranger," he muttered, before he and Scott were blasted by Venjix's Electro Cannon once more.

The two Red Rangers collapsed on the dock, the river right behind them.

"Your optimistic attitude is annoying, Ranger Red," Venjix said as he surrounded his sword-arm with bright purple energy. "Vector Vortex!"

"No!" Scott said. "That'll send us back to my dimension!"

"You can't escape!" Venjix replied as he threw the ball of purple energy at the two.

"Look out!" Scott cried before stepping in front of Jayden to cover him.

Just then, the other five Samurai Rangers immediately stepped in front of them, blocking the energy ball with their swords.

"NO!" Jayden cried out.

"They're shielding us..." Scott muttered.

"Don't worry about us," Emily was the first to speak as the purple energy ball into a dark red crack in the air in front of them. "We'll be fine!"

"We got this!" Kevin added.

"It's up to you!" Mia said.

"Just get Venjix!" Mike called back.

"Go!" Antonio cried.

'What a team,' Scott thought to himself, being reminded of his own team, before the portal sucked the five in and sent the two Reds flying into the water behind them.

Having followed them discreetly, Ji watched the whole thing happen. "No..." he muttered.

"That takes care of five of them," Venjix announced to no one in particular. "And the piece of me in Ranger Red's body will work its magic on the other two." He then called out, "Sergeant Tread."

The mentioned Action Commander appeared out of the ground through a red Gap. "What can I help you with?"

"A contingency," Venjix replied. "Even if the Reds do manage to come back from this, it's up to you to break their spirits."

"'Break their spirits'?" Tread asked.

"Yes," Venjix replied. "Squash them like bugs until they don't come back anymore."

"Yes, Sir," Tread answered, before seeing movement behind a stack of metal pipes. "It seems we have a visitor."

Ji gulped, knowing he was found out.

RPM Dimension, City Square

The five Samurai Rangers, now de-morphed, awoke to a city they were not familiar with. Emily ached all over, and knew she and the other four were in trouble.

"Everybody okay?" Emily asked. "Sound off."

"I'm okay," Kevin replied.

"Me too," Mia answered.

"Just dandy," Mike said.

"I think I landed on my shoulder wrong, but I'm okay too," Antonio replied.

"Good," Emily replied, as she began to slowly sit up. "Now, where are we?"

"You guys are in Corinth," came an unfamiliar voice. Emily glanced up only to meet the brown eyes of a blonde haired, much older, girl, wearing a yellow shirt and a black leather jacket just like Scott's. "Are you alright? My team and I saw you come through the vortex."

"Yeah, we're fine," Emily replied as the girl helped her stand. "We were attacked by Cog."

"What?" came another voice, sounding Scottish. Emily turned to it, only to see a man in blue helping Kevin to his feet. "Cog came to your world?"

Mike was being assisted by a boy in green, Mia a girl in silver, and Antonio a boy in gold. There was also a man in black standing there, keeping an eye on the civilians nearby.

Remembering what Scott had said about not telling anybody about Venjix surviving, Antonio leaned in and said, "Can we talk somewhere...more private?"

Samurai Dimension, Waterfront

Jayden and Scott emerged from the water, both un-morphed. Jayden managed to lift himself up onto the deck above, before turning around and giving Scott a hand.

Scott paused, before accepting Jayden's help.

The two sat down on a bench nearby, their backs to each other, letting the setting sun dry them off as they just lost themselves to their own individual trains of thought.

Jayden thought of his team, and how they sacrificed themselves for him and Scott.

Antonio and his energetic way of living, Mike and his cheerful personality, Mia and her motherly attitude, Kevin and his logical mind, and Emily are her empathic way of feeling...

Was he really never going to see them again?

"I'm sorry about your team," Scott broke the intense silence first. Jayden said nothing, only focusing on trying not to cry. If he opened his mouth now, the tears would just fall and not stop. "And I'm sorry...for blindly charging in..."

"I'm sorry, too," Jayden finally answered, "about Venjix...I know something like that being revealed...can't be healthy on the mind..."

"You know what it's like?" Scott asked. Right now, it sounded like he was about to cry too.

"To have your entire world come crashing down around you?" Jayden accurately guessed. "Of course I do. I lost my older sister, Lauren, to the Nighlock. She had a secret weapon against them, so she had to go into hiding. I didn't see her for two years, until I got news that she was gone, her and her team ambushed, and to this day, we still don't know what really happened to them. I didn't even get to say goodbye." Now, the tears were falling down Jayden's cheek. "Not even to my own team just now..." He lightly sniffed before addressing the other Red Ranger, "So, it's okay if you cry, Scott. I won't judge you."

Scott clenched his hands around the hem of his leather jacket as he finally let the tears fall. "Your team means everything to you, especially since you already lost someone close to you. My older brother, Marcus, was the former leader of the Eagle Squadron, and he was so much better than me, to the point where my dad tended to play favorites, and yet he recommended me as second squadron leader. But during the Battle of Corinth, his plane was shot down. I never got to say goodbye either." Scott inhaled deeply, wincing at how shaky his breath sounded. "And when I chased Cog through the vortex, I just...left my team there, confused and lost..."

Out of the corner of his eye, Jayden saw Scott bow his head, and Jayden turned his head back in front of himself to give Scott some privacy while he wallowed in his guilt and grief.

"Can I confess something else?" Scott asked.

"Of course," Jayden quietly replied.

"I think Venjix was right," Scott said, "about a piece of him being inside me. I don't feel like myself. I haven't ever since I first morphed again for the Megazord fight that got me here."

"We have ways of finding out what the problem is," Jayden reassured him with a smile, even though Scott couldn't see it. "No matter what the problem might be."

"Thanks..."

Jayden was quiet before he found the courage the ask, "Do you really think that Venjix sent my team to your world?"

"No doubt about it," Scott replied, for once hope lacing his voice. "Don't worry. My team will help them."

Jayden turned around to smile at him.

Scott's faith in his team mirrored Jayden's own in his.

Scott returned the smile.

Shiba House, Gianni Forest, Panorama City, California

It was nighttime by the time they got back. They were cold, hungry, and injured, and the Shiba House was the only place that could help them right now.

But the minute Jayden saw a note nailed to the front gate, he raced up to it and read it aloud.

"'Dear Red Rangers, we have your mentor at Ridge Mountains. Don't arrive until morning unless you want him dead. Sincerely, Venjix and Sergeant Tread'."

Jayden felt himself growl in anger, and beside him, he felt Scott do the same.

But he found himself wondering why their enemies would tell them to wait until morning...

RPM Dimension, RPM Base

"I can't believe it..." Summer leaned her head in her hands, her elbows resting on the table in front of her. She was sitting in K's usual chair, in front of her computer, she and the other five RPM Rangers having just been told the news.

"So Cog is-" Gem began.

"-actually Venjix," Gemma finished.

"Yeah," Kevin solemnly explained, "he told us that Cog is an abbreviation of 'Contingency Opponent Golem'."

Dillon's hands clenched into fists. "That bastard...he was ready for this..."

Dillon's sister, Tenaya, and the Light Zord were listening to the conversation off to the side.

"Looks like it," Mike said.

"Yeah, and I think your Doctor K figured this out first," Emily added, quietly. "It scared her, and that's why she ran."

"Is her name really just 'K'?" Mia asked. "Doesn't she have any other name?"

Ziggy solemnly shook his head, "No. The government project that named her Doctor K kidnapped her as a child...and made her forget her own name. She's only known herself as K."

"That's so sad," Antonio muttered, he and Mia sharing a glance.

"Venjix is also working with the Nighlock, the enemy from our world," Emily added. "If we work together, we can find a way to stop them."

"I agree," Summer replied, before standing up. She turned to her team, waiting for any of them to disagree. When she got none, she smiled before turning back to Emily, outstretching her hand.

Emily turned back to her own team for the same reason Summer did. Getting no objection, she also smiled before turning back to Summer and shaking her hand.

Summer then turned to everybody else, saying, "Hearing no objections, Emily and I will be in charge until this is over." Everyone else nodding. The two Yellows were the best ones for the job. "Now, Doctor K knows how to fix this. We need to find her before we do anything else."

'Tell them,' K told Emily. 'Tell them where I am.'

"Um...this might be weird to hear...and weirder to explain..." Emily nervously spoke up, "but...I think she's inside me."

"Huh?"

"Emily, are you taking drugs?" Mike asked.

"No, I'm not!" Emily cried out before explaining. "K's heart is resting within mine. She told me that she was lost in the darkness after being separated from her body. She found my light and hid her heart in mine, to escape."

"That makes a lot more sense than what you initially said," Dillon said.

"How can you prove it?" Flynn asked.

'There's a message I recorded,' K told her. 'It's on the computer, protected by a password. Go bring it up.'

"Yes," Emily answered Flynn's question. "But I'll need your computer."

Everyone else immediately protested, but Summer didn't. Emily was looking directly into her eyes, asking for support, and for a moment, Summer could indeed see K in Emily's place.

K had once given them the same pleading look, asking her Rangers to trust her.

"Guys," Summer brought calm to the chaos. "It's okay. I trust her." She turned back to Emily. "But on behalf of my teammates, if you tell me what the computer is hiding, that'd be much better."

Emily let K guide her words, "She says there's a folder on the desktop, titled 'My Journal', but it's protected by a password."

Summer sat down at the computer, as the other RPM Rangers gathered around her. She used the mouse to click on the folder, and sure enough, a password window popped up.

"Okay," Gemma began. "But that-"

"-still proves nothing," Gem said.

"What's the password?" Ziggy asked.

'He knows what it is,' K replied. 'He remembers the cave.'

"She says you already know," Emily told him with a smile. "Something about a cave?"

Ziggy took a moment before smiling. "Of course." He then crossed over to the computer and typed in 'shadowpuppets'. He pressed the 'Enter' button, and just like that, the file was open. "I believe her," he then told his confused and dumbstruck teammates.

"There's only one file," Summer observed. "It's dated a week ago."

'That's the one,' K told Emily. 'Tell her to open it.'

"She wants you six to open it," Emily told the six RPM Rangers.

Summer trusted Emily, so she opened the file, and a video quickly began to play on the screen.

It was K's face, and she was solemn and looked to be filled with guilt.

"Fifth of March, Year of 2015. I just discovered some disturbing news, news that I am responsible for," K in the video began. "Venjix is still alive, and it's survived, not by the C.O.G. program, but by hiding itself within Scott's morpher, which could very well have unforeseen disasterous effects on Scott if he ever uses it again. The data I found has indicated that Venjix has managed to escape Scott's morpher and transfer itself into a new robotic body via the C.O.G. program." Summer placed a shaky hand over her unsteady hand. Scott was suffering due to Venjix hiding inside his morpher. "All of this is my fault," K in the video was beginning to tear up. "I'm the one who created the Venjix virus in the first place. That's why I've developed anti-virus, a multi-agent system, to insert into the RPM Ultrazord's final attack, but it's unfinished. I hope my Rangers are strong enough to defeat him, and even if they are not, I hope they can hold on long enough for me to finish my anti-virus program. But for now, all I can do is apologize for placing everyone in this situation and being unable to do anything else."

The video ended with that, and Emily could feel K trembling with fear and sorrow within her heart. And that's when Emily understood what K meant last night: 'Because I was scared, and not just of the one chasing me.'

K was scared of the Rangers she was helping. She feared their reactions.

"You don't have to apologize for anything, K," Ziggy muttered.

"Yeah," Dillon said. "We just wish you'd trust us more."

The six RPM Rangers were solemn, letting K's words sink into their very souls.

'Seems like they really love you, K,' Emily told K. 'You can do something.'

'I highly doubt it,' K replied.

'You can still turn this around,' came the unsuspected voice of Lee, 'by finishing the anti-virus.'

"Only K would know where to look on her own computer," Ziggy spoke up, addressing what led them to the video in the first place. "Not a complete stranger." He and the other RPM Rangers turned to Emily. "We believe you."

'Please let me talk to them,' K pleaded with Emily. 'Please let me use your body.'

'Alright,' Emily had no issues with that, so she let K take over.

When Emily next spoke, it was no longer Emily's voice, but K's. "I'm here, everyone. You probably needed help against Cog, but I was not there. I was attacked by Cog, a clone of Attack Bot Tenaya 15, and a group of Grinders. They forced my body and mind to separate, and Emily's light was the first one I noticed. She kindly let me stay here. I'm sorry for everything."

"Don't worry, K," Summer replied with a smile. "We're just glad you're okay."

"And now we have an idea on where your body is," Flynn added.

"That's right!" Gem smiled. "We just-"

"-need to put you back together!" Gemma finished.

"So you don't remember your own name?" Mike asked, and K (in Emily's body) turned to face him, shaking her head.

"Then, maybe you should pick one for yourself," Dillon suggested.

As K thought about this, Ziggy softly spoke, "Don't worry, K. We'll take care of everything."

K (in Emily's body) smiled. "Thank you." She closed her eyes, letting Emily take over again. When she opened her eyes, it was now Emily's voice who came through.

"What's the plan?" Emily asked.

Summer smiled, before taking command, "Let's split up for now. Emily, take Mike, Dillon, and Flynn with you to locate K's body. Gem, Gemma, you two take Antonio and Mia to repair our Zords. Ziggy, you and Kevin stay with me and Tenaya to run some tests to see if we can open that portal again ourselves. There has to be a way."

Every nodded before splitting up into their respective teams, each of them having their own missions.

Samurai Dimension, Shiba House

March 16, 2015

Scott didn't want to sleep last night, but Jayden kinda of forced him to. But Jayden was right, because Scott felt loads better than he did yesterday.

Right now, the two had just finished breakfast and were now huddled around the Gap Sensor map table, reading the disturbance on the map.

"Is this for real?" Scott asked.

"The Gap Sensor never lies," Jayden replied. "This is a huge disturbance. Nighlock as well as something else not human."

"It's gotta be where Ji is," Scott said. "So, they didn't lie. You ready?" he asked, reaching for his pendant and pulling out his Engine Cell.

"Yep," Jayden said, before pulling out his Samuraizer. "Go, Go, Samurai!"

"RPM, Get in Gear!"

The two morphed, and Jayden left the House while drawing a kanji and activating it. "Symbol Power: Horse!"

"Um..." Scott paused. "What are you doing?"

"Getting some transportation," Jayden replied as he mounted the horse.

"What about me?!"

Jayden nodded his head Ji's motorcycle. "If you bust it up, I'm not taking the blame."

~B~E~T~T~E~R~~T~O~G~E~T~H~E~R~~P~O~W~E~R~~R~A~N~G~E~R~S~~S~A~M~U~R~A~I~~R~E~D~O~

Ridge Mountains, Outskirts, Panorama City, California

Jayden had gotten there first, to Scott's surprise. When he arrived on Ji's motorcycle, Jayden's horse was already there, feeding on some grass. Scott simply rolled his eyes.

"What took you two so long?" came Venjix's voice. Jayden and Scott both glanced over to see him and Sergeant Tread there, with Grinders and Marauders surrounding Ji (who was tied to a wooden pole), who was completely calm, staring down his enemies with zero fear.

"Let him go!" Scott said, referring to Ji. Jayden had told him what Ji was to him, how he was the last remaining blood relative the Red Samurai had left.

"Of course," Venjix replied, before snapping his fingers, and Grinders and Marauders surrounded them. "But only if you surrender quietly. If you don't, our hostage here will be toast."

Jayden clear saw a bit of fear in Ji's eyes when Tread pointed his wheel at his face, but Ji was not shaken, "Don't fall for his threat, Jayden."

Ji couldn't see the look on Jayden's face (thanks to his helmet), but he knew the now-grown-up man since he was a young boy, and he knew just from experience that Jayden was hesitating.

Ji was important to him, but he also knew what the Nighlock were capable of.

That's why Ji had given him that warning. He needed to make sure Jayden would be smart about this. Jayden letting his emotions control him in this moment was not a smart move.

Scott, on the other hand, was torn. He knew Venjix was probably lying, but he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he let an innocent, unarmed civilian die or get hurt.

Especially if that civilian was related to a fellow Ranger.

That's why Scott was surprised when Jayden suddenly unsheathed his Sword and struck down a Grinder charing at him.

Ji carefully watched the scene in front of him play.

A surprised Scott turned to Jayden, "W-What are doing?"

Jayden slowly walked forward, his Spin Sword in hand, before slicing through foot soldiers left and right.

Cog, surprised, shrieked, "Don't you care about the hostage?!"

"Jayden, what are doing?!" Scott cried out, anger surging in him. "Ji's in trouble!"

"Don't ever trust the enemy," was Jayden's reply. "Even if we did surrender, there's no gaurantee they would actually have let Ji go."

Scott's mind immediately flashed to when Cog had faked being hit by SkyRev's bullet. The Rangers falling for Cog's trap allowed him to split them all up.

Scott knew Jayden was right, but he just couldn't take it anymore. His fists clenched as Jayden continued fighting against the Grinders and Marauders.

Venjix turned to Tread and nodded. Tread lifted his wheel and moved to strike Ji down, but both he and Jayden were stopped by a couple of laser blasts.

The Grinders and Marauders moved out of the way to reveal Scott holding his Nitro Blaster directly at Jayden.

"What are you doing?" It was Jayden's turn to ask this.

"I'm sick and tired of you calling all the shots!" Scott yelled out. "I'm saving both worlds, but I don't need you to do that!"

Note: I can't remember where the idea of Cog being Venjix himself came from, but I thought it was interesting. And Scott covering Jayden from the vortex is indeed something that he does in canon. Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please review and tell me what you think!

The next chapter will be Part 3 out of 3 of the RPM crossover.

A/N: Do review, please. If you guys have any ideas you want me to consider adding, please PM me. A preview for the next chapter:
