A/N: Enjoy the chapter! Sorry you guys had to wait so long. I've been busy with online classes.
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers Samurai or Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. I just own most of the plot and the characters and things you don't recognize from the original versions.
This chapter is a Mia focus, but it also contains hints as to what I have in mind for future chapters, so pay close attention.

"Mia's brother, Terry, visits the House to convince Mia to sing with him in his band in a concert, but Mia's convinced that he's wasting his time."
Better Together
Power Rangers: Samurai REDO
Season 2, Episode 9: Harmony and Discord
Shiba House, Gianni Forest, Panorama City, California
March 28, 2015
Kevin closed the freezer door after getting the necessary ice for his water. Ji didn't really have anything in mind for today, so they were all free to do what they wanted. Mia was currently out getting groceries for a special dinner she was going to have with someone today, but she wouldn't tell anybody who it was.
Kevin exited the kitchen to see Jayden and Emily sparring in the indoor dojo (in casual clothes) while Mike and Antonio were playing a game of Go Fish. Kevin set his water bottle down on the table and was about to take a seat next to Antonio when he heard faint sounds of a guitar playing.
He paused and the others noticed.
"You okay, Kevin?" Mike asked.
"Anybody else hear that?" Kevin returned with a question of his own.
The group went silent as the other four strained to hear what Kevin was hearing.
"That sounds like..." Emily trailed off.
"A guitar?" Antonio finished.
Jayden asked, "Anybody expecting company today?"
"Mia is," Kevin replied, before realizing who it was she was expecting. He smiled, "And there's only one person I know who can play a guitar that well."
He proceeded to lead the group outside, where they all saw a boy, wearing a purple t-shirt, sitting on the bench, playing his guitar. He was so engrossed in it that he didn't notice any of them circle around him.
At least until Kevin cleared his throat, making the boy stop playing. The boy glanced up and immediately greeted them all with a smile, "Hi, Kevin. I told Mia I was coming."
"I know," Kevin replied with a smile before engulfing the boy in a hug. "It's good to see you again"
Jayden cleared his throat next, "Kevin, would you mind introducing us?"
"Oh, right," Kevin said. "Everyone, this is Terrence Watanabe, also known as Terry or Mia's little brother."
Terry followed up with, "It's nice to meet you all. Mia said she had roommates, and I'm guessing you guys are those roommates."
"We sure are," Antonio said. "Come on in."
Mike led Terry inside by his shoulders, the other four following, "So, you're Mia's brother, the one she always talks about."
Terry laughed, "Yep. All my life." As soon as he saw the inside of the House, he became stricken with awe. "Wow. Mia did say you guys ran some sort of dojo, but I didn't think it'd be this cool."
The five Rangers shared a chuckle, realizing that must've been the cover story that Mia told him, so he'd ask less questions.
"Where is my Sis anyways?" Terry asked.
Emily spoke up, "Oh, she went to get some groceries. She's cooking tonight. A special occassion, she said."
Terry smiled, "She must've been talking about me. I keep telling her that she has a real talent for cooking, but she doesn't believe me. Have you tried her homemade fried rice yet?"
"Nope," Antonio said.
"Then try it," Terry advised. "It's delicious."
"So what brings you to town, Terry?" Jayden asked, who snuck in a smile.
"Oh, my parents are making me volunteer at the Children's Hospital over the upcoming summer break. They think it would help me get into med school down the road," Terry answered.
"And is there a high demand for guitar-playing doctors?" Mike asked.
Terry looked over at his guitar and realized what Mike was asking. "Oh, this? No, I'm also trying to put together a concert gig. I was hoping Mia would sing with me."
Emily gasped happily. "Mia sings?!" She didn't know that.
"Yeah, she's awesome. Actually, she's awesome at a lot of things," Terry said, returning her smile with one of his own. "When we were kids, we were going to be the world's greatest band. But then she went off to college..."
The way he trailed off indicated that it was actually a long story that he didn't want to talk about.
The Gap Sensor chose that moment to go off.
Terry's smile was gone and replaced with confusion. "What's that?"
"We have to run an errand real quick, but we'll be back before you know it," Kevin promised.
"O-Okay..."
He could only watch as they ran out the door.

A horde of Marauders was their opponent this time.
Jayden and Mike rushed into the fight, and Antonio cut off a few's escape on the balcony, while Kevin and Emily ushered the kids to safety.
After Antonio used Light Zord's baton to push a few Marauders off the edge, the five Rangers quickly followed them, leading the fight to the playground outside on the ground level.
Once all the Marauders were gone, the Rangers left the area, letting the kids return to their classrooms.
Now concealed by the trees, the six Rangers met up with Mia, "Sorry, I'm late, guys. But it looks like you guys handled it just fine."
The six de-morphed together and began the journey home. Mike and Antonio gave each other a high five, as Emily turned to Mia.
"Hey, Mia, you know that visitor you're expecting?" Emily asked.
"Yeah?"
"He's here, Mia," Kevin cut in.
"Terry's here? Already?" Mia asked. "B-But I'm not ready! I still need to prepare lunch!"
"Mia!" Antonio placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, calming her down. "It's okay. It's your brother. Things don't have to be perfect. Just be with him."
"Right," Mia said, before shaking her head. "Calm down, Mia, it's okay." Something else then came to mind. "Wait, Kevin, did Terry have his guitar?"
"Yeah, why?" Kevin replied, excitedly.
Mia looked off to the side, looking concerned. Kevin immediately noticed, as did the others.
"You okay, Mia?" Kevin asked.
"Hm? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it."

The six Rangers returned to find Terry still there, waiting for them, and sitting opposite of Ji. His guitar was leaning against the wall.
"Hey, you're back!" Terry greeted them with a smile, he and Ji standing up from their seats. "Did you get your errand done?"
"We sure did," Emily replied, before giving up a sheepish smile. "We're sorry for just running off like that."
"Hey, don't sweat it. Ji here is really pleasant company," Terry replied, meaning every word. Judging by Ji's following smile, it was obvious that Terry was pleasant company as well.
Mia then stepped in front of the group, and smiles immediately flashed on both of their faces. "Terry!"
"Sis!" The two ran towards each other and wrapped themselves in a hug.
Mia broke the hug, "So what are you doing here?"
"I'm getting the band back together," Terry replied. "I've got a concert tonight, and I was kinda hoping you'd sing with us."
Mia's smile faded before she shook her head, "Oh, I don't know, Terry."
"C'mon, Mia, you can do it," Emily encouraged her, thinking that maybe Mia had stage fright.
Mia sent her a smile before whispering in Terry's ear, "Can we talk outside?"
She didn't wait for an answer. She instead immediately grabbed his arm and led him outside.
Once outside, Mia dropped all smiles. "Hey, what gives?" Terry asked, making Mia let go of his arm.
"Terry, you're supposed to be focusing on your future," Mia said, "not playing gigs."
"Playing gigs is what I want to do, Mia," Terry replied. "I've made up my mind. I'm not going to college."
"Be realistic," Mia was almost pleading. "You have a better shot at getting into med school than becoming a rock star."
Terry was supremely disappointed when he said, "You sound like Mom and Dad."
"Well, maybe they're right," she replied.
"The only dream I want to live out is my own, Mia," Terry's eyes etched deep into her soul as he said this. "I thought you'd understand that...guess I was wrong..."
Terry turned away from her, and Mia's heart began to beat faster in fear of losing her brother over something like this, "We're only trying to look out for you."
"Well, thanks, but I can look out for myself," Terry said. "I'm sorry I even bothered coming here."

Inside, the other five were trying to deduce why the Marauders were after the kids. "Why kids?" Mike asked.
"Well, they are more emotional than adults," Emily pointed out. "It's easier to make them cry."
"You have a point," Kevin agreed.
Their conversation was cut off by Terry entering the house and Mia hot on his heels.
"Terry, wait-!" Mia called.
Terry cut her off, "No, Sis. I get it. You don't want to help." He picked up his guitar. "And you know what? That's fine. I'll just find somebody else to sing."
He then left the House.
"Mia?" Emily asked through the silence that followed. Mia turned to her remaining four teammates, clearly seeing the looks of concern they had on their faces.
"I-I'm fine," she said.
"No, you're not," Antonio replied. "What happened?"
"Terry and I just have a disagreement about his future. Please, stay out of this," she asked them. "It's family stuff."
She then left for her room, leaving the others in worried silence. Antonio, however, seemed to decide on something, and left the house as well.

Antonio caught Terry just as he was leaving the gates, "Hey!"
Terry turned around to see Antonio walking towards awfully fast, "What do you want?" It didn't come out as mean or offensive, but Antonio could tell that the boy's argument with Mia had left him vulnerable.
"I hear you need a singer for your band," Antonio said.
"You sing?" Terry asked.
"I sing a little when I'm down at the pier," Antonio replied. "The fish never complain."
Terry shot him a little smile, "Okay, let's go to the theatre and see what you've got. What's your name?"
"Antonio. Antonio Garcia."
The two then left the grounds of the Shiba House together.
Mia might hate him for getting involved, but Antonio knew exactly what he was doing. As a fellow music lover, he couldn't just stand by and let Terry suffer by himself. Terry needed an extra singer, and if Antonio managed to help him patch things up with Mia along the way, then so be it.

"Take your medicine, Master," Octoroo said. "I'll handle this." He then turned to Serrator. "Your repeated failures with the Samurai Rangers have the Master and I sick to our stomachs."
"Merely a minor setback," Serrator reassure them both.
"None of your plans have worked," Octoroo reminded him. "It's time to see some real results."
"I know a way to make the barrier between the Netherworld and the human world weaker," Serrator continued before heading to the edge of the ship. "All I need is a pure heart and those Rangers are done for."
Getting a pure heart by capturing a kid or two didn't work. He'd have to find someone himself.
"This better work." Octoroo had followed him. "Your chances to prove yourself are getting slim. The clock is ticking much faster than you think. Your time is running out."
"We'll see about that," Serrator said.

"And break!" Terry called, letting his band take their dinner break. Four hours and then they would be on stage, performing their song. He and Antonio remained now, "Nice job, Antonio. You're a natural."
"Thank you," Antonio said, before setting down his borrowed guitar (it was shaped like a fish, weirdly enough). "Now, let's talk."
"What?" Terry asked, but he let Antonio lead him down to the first row of seats.
"What's going on with you and Mia?" Antonio asked, once the two were seated.
Terry hesitated, unsure if getting a stranger involved was the right thing to do. But he and Antonio did have a lot in common. He really felt like Antonio could be trusted.
"Everyone wants me to get into med school," Terry revealed. "Mom, Dad, Mia, even complete strangers. But I don't. Music has always felt right to me. Besides, Mia once wanted to be a rockstar too, and tonight, I just wanted to make that dream of hers come true. To be honest, I don't really understand the point of college, anyway."
"Well, college is like a safety net," Antonio softly explained. "That way, when you fail, you have something to fall back on."
"But I don't want college to be my safety net," Terry continued. "I already have one. It's Mia. She already made me safe, and I just want her to understand that it's time for me to pursue my own happiness."
Antonio smiled, before advising, "What you just told me really sounds like something Mia needs to hear. Don't you agree?"
Terry paused, thinking about that. Eventually, he nodded, "Yeah, I do." His smile returned. "Thanks, Antonio."
"You're welome," Antonio replied, before patting his shoulder. "There's still time before the show starts. Why don't you go see Mia?"
"I will," the boy replied, before handing Antonio five tickets. "Here, hand these out to the others."
Antonio nodded, before he watched as Terry raced out of the theatre.
Just then, Light Zord popped out from under one of the seats, "Boss, I sense a Nighlock nearby."
Antonio immediately tensed up. "Define nearby."
LZ continued, "General level Nighlock, in this immediate building."
Antonio immediately stood up, "I need to warn Terry." He then raced after Terry.
But he was too late. He got outside the building just in time to see Serrator leap onto the top of a building with an out-cold Terry in his arms.
Antonio immediately gave chase, whipping out his Morpher on the way to make a few calls.

"'Rebel Rockers'?" Bulk asked, he and his nephew looking at a poster for the rock show tonight. "Never heard of them."
"I like the name," Spike replied. "Hey, I have tonight off. Wanna go with me?"
"Eh, why not?" Bulk said. "It'd be nice to take to break."
Spike then looked in the distance and saw a girl sitting on a bench in the distance. The same girl that helped him get his cafe job. She looked down for some reason. This could be his chance to return the favor. "Hey, let's invite her too!"
Mia was just minding her own business, completely oblivious to Bulk and Spike in the distance. Seriously, why couldn't Terry just focus on his future and not his rock band? For once?
Tch. Wonderful. She did sound like Mom and Dad. But what did Terry mean by he thought Mia would understand?
"The only dream I want to live out is my own, Mia."
What did he mean? Was he implying that getting into med school was someone else's dream and not his?
Mia smiled to herself as she remembered a time when Terry was truly happy, when he and his older sister were performing for 'The World's Greatest Band'.
"Oh, I believe in you~"
They were really close back then. Despite being as different as cats (Mia) and dogs (Terry), the two loved each other. So what happened?
"Hey, hey, pretty girl!" came Spike's voice. Mia turned to face him, sitting up straighter, right as her Samuraizer went off.
She immediately opened it to find a message she never thought she would see, but deeply dreaded.
"Terry kidnapped by Serrator! S.O.S. A.S.A.P.!"
Her stomach immediately tied up into knots and she got to her feet right as Spike, out of breath, handed her a poster for Terry's concert.
She impatiently waited as he wheezed out words sounding like,"P-Please...come..."
Please come to the concert, he meant.
She smiled, "I will, but I really have to go now."
Spike nodded, giving her the freedom to run in the direction of the changing coordinates that came with Antonio's message (due to him giving chase).
She was about to fold up the flyer and place it in her pocket when she noticed a line near the bottom.
'All proceeds due to the local children's hospital'
Guilt was immediately added to her dread, and after putting the flyer away, she ran even faster.
There was no way she'd lose Terry now.

Terry woke up as soon as the monster dropped him. "What do you want with me?"
"I need your pure heart to break down a barrier," the monster (Serrator) replied. "Do not worry, the process is quick and painless, though you surviving is unlikely."
"Why me?" he asked, as he struggled to sit up.
"My Marauders went after kids earlier, but failed," Serrator replied. "However, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. If it weren't for their failure, I would never had thought to go after you. Your heart is so pure, it's sickening, purer than those snot-nosed kids. But there's also the added bonus that you are related to a Power Ranger."
Terry stopped his struggling. He was related to a Power Ranger?
Serrator answered his unasked question, "The Pink Samurai? I suppose pure hearts run in the family, but you are, quite frankly, an easier target."
"M-Mia?" he asked himself. The Pink Samurai Ranger was a girl, and Mia was the only female relative in this area.
Serrator ignored him, "Not only are you the perfect target, but you are also perfect bait. Now, all I must do is defeat the Rangers while you watch. In that moment, your heart will break and the Sanzu River will flood the human world."
Terry's hands clenched into fists, "Don't even try it."
Serrator watched as the boy stood up, before rushing at the boy, hoping to keep him down. But Terry quickly dodged it before delivering a crescent kick that solidly landed on the Nighlock's chest.
"My sister is not the only Watanabe who knows how to fight," Terry glared.
Serrator humphed before summoning a horde of Marauders. "We'll see about that."
"Terry!" he heard Antonio call out to him, as a mini mechanical lion, dragon, and bear all attacked the horde in front of him. Terry immediately turned to see Antonio, Kevin, Mike, Jayden, and Emily run at him. They brought out phones and drew Japanese kanji in the air, in multiple colors.
"Go, Go, Samurai!"
Once they morphed, Terry berated himself for being so surprised. The two dojos inside and out, them being roomates, them leaving after an alarm had sounded. He had just found out that Mia was the Pink Ranger. He should've known they were the other five Samurai Rangers.
Jayden, Kevin, and Mike rushed into the fight, while Antonio and Emily stopped next to him. "Are you okay, Terry?" Emily asked.
Terry nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken up."
"Good, now get somewhere safe," Antonio said. "We'll take care of him."
The two watched him run to the sidelines before charging in to fight Serrator. The fight was even, until Serrator managed to claw them both down.
Serrator raised his claw hand as the other three (having finished off the Marauders) joined Antonio and Emily as they got back to their feet, "Allow me to cut in on your fun, Rangers!" With his claw hand, he then shot blue beams at them, sending all five of them into the nearby warehouse.
They managed to get back to their feet right as more Marauders arrived on the scene, and the fight started all over again.
Terry was watching all of this go down from the sidelines, somewhere safe like Antonio and Emily said, when he heard his sister's voice.
"Terry!"
He turned to see her running up, Spin Sword in hand. "Mia..." he breathed
"Terry!" She immediately wrapped him in a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're okay. Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine," he said, and she released her hug.
"Good," she said. She was about to rush in to help the others, but she hesitated. Instead, she turned back to Terry. "Terry, listen, I wanted to apologize. I didn't take your feelings into consideration earlier, and I'm sorry."
"It's okay, Mia," Terry replied. "I forgive you."
But Mia shook her head, "No, it's not okay. You're right. I sounded like Mom and Dad, something I once swore to never do. But I get it now. Mom and Dad have high-paying jobs. They just want you to be safe and successful, just like them. And so do I."
It was Terry's turn to shake his head. "But do you want me to be happy?"
"What?" Mia's thought train stopped due to the sudden, seemingly out-of-the-blue question, as the others continued fighting the Marauders in the background.
"Do you want me to be happy?" Terry repeated, before explaining. "Mom and Dad may have had good jobs, but they came with work-filled hours, remember? That meant spending less time with us and more time at work, more-so over time. We both promised that we would always make sure our own happiness and families came before our jobs." That's what he meant when he thought Mia would understand. Tears began to fill his eyes. "Med school makes Mom and Dad happy, not me. That's why I chose music."
"The only dream I want to live out is my own, Mia."
Terry continued, "I am safe, Mia, because you. You're my safety net, because I know that you'll always be there to support me." He sniffed, the tears falling freely down his cheeks. "Even you die before I do."
This made Mia's heart skip a beat. He knew about her being a Power Ranger now.
In the background, the others finished off the Marauders and were now facing off against Serrator. The Nighlock shot more beams at them from his claw hand, causing them to fly back.
Med school was their parents' dream, not Terry's. Everything made sense now.
Mia turned her gaze toward Serrator and it quickly turned into a glare. How dare he kidnap her brother and make him cry?
"Don't cry, Terry," Mia said. "Big Sister's here. I always am. Now, stay here. I've got some business to take care of."
She rushed into battle with a cry of anger, right into the horde of Marauders Serrator immediately summoned to counterattack.
As she struck them all down left and right, she found herself on the verge of tears. Serrator would pay for hurting her brother.
After getting rid of the rest with a simple circular motion of her Sword, Mia immediately brought out her Samuraizers. "Go, Go, Samurai!"
Her Kanji blocked Serrator's beams as she drew it, and she flipped it right as she was engulfed in an explosion.
"Mia!" the other five Rangers called out.
But when the explosion dispersed, there Mia stood, fully morphed.
"Samurai Wind, Power Ranger Pink!" she announced, before rushing in.
Terry watched his sister block Serrator's attacks, before eventually being struck down.
Jayden held up a black box and threw it, "Mia! Catch!"
Mia caught the device with the hilt of her Sword, calling out "Super Samurai Mode!" as she did. "Turtle Disk!" She spun the black Power Disk. "Super Spin Sword: Super Airwave Strike!"
The attack wounded Serrator. Mia stood up as the other five surrounded her.
"Nice one, Mia!" Antonio said.
Terry could only watch Mia raise her Sword, waiting for Serrator's next move, as his tears began to dry up. His sister was amazing.
"Very well," Serrator said, his body smoking due to Mia's attack. "I will give up my plan." He held up a piece of paper in a folder. "Papyrux!" It was joined by Marauders stacked in two pyramids and a couple of Spitfangs.
Jayden turned to Mia, "You know what to do, Mia."
"Right," she said, before placing in a Power Disk. "Samurai Combination!"
Jayden hooked up the Bull Disk to his Spin Sword, "Summon Bullzord!"
"Samurai Megazord: We Are United!"
Mia turned to the other three in the cockpit with her, "You guys ready for a wagon ride?"
The four motioned the Megazord to jump up and land on the Bullzord's back. Bull charged at the pyramid in front of him, as the Megazord used its sword to fend off the remaining ones.
When only the Spitfangs and Papyrux were left, Antonio summoned the Clawzord. "Clawzord Transformation! Claw Battlezord: East! Ready!"
The Spitfangs shot fireballs at the Samurai Megazord and Bullzord as Bull continued to charge.
Jayden then spun the Bull Disk attached to his Sword as the Megazord on top jumped off. "Bullzord Transformation! Bull Megazord: Armed For Battle!" All three Megazords were ready now.
Papyrux silently commanded the two Spitfangs to spit their fireballs, but the three Megazords merely blocked them, returning them to their senders.
"Let's finish this!" Mia said.
"Right! Katana Power!"
"Twin Swords Strike!"
"Samurai Strike!"
"Revolving Laser Blaster!"
The three combined attacks finally destroyed the remaining three enemies.
"Say it, Mia!"
"Samurai Rangers, Victory is Ours!"

Watching Mike try to teach Kevin to dance, and failing, Jayden and Emily shortly laughed before it faded, due to Mia entering the kitchen in that moment.
"Hey, Mia," she greeted with a smile that she hoped hid her worries about Mia and Terry's fight. "We're going to Terry's concert. Antonio's already there. Aren't you coming?"
She wasn't dressed for it, like they were.
"Hm?" Mia asked, apparently missing Emily's question.
"Mia, we're worried about you and your brother. Is there anything we can do to help?" Kevin asked.
Mia sent them a smile, a genuine one, "Nope. Terry and I are fine now. And yes, I am going to the concert. I just need to change first. You guys can go without me. Don't worry, I'll catch up."
It was clear that the other four didn't want to leave, but they did, though hesitantly.
They wanted to help, but they didn't know how.

A couple of opening acts were first. After them, then they, The Rebel Rockers, would be on. Antonio peeked through the curtain, but when he stepped back, he heard Terry ask, "We're on next. Is Mia out there?"
"I don't see any of our friends," Antonio honestly replied. "But don't worry. They'll be here. Now, c'mon, let's rock the house!"
Terry smiled. They all took their places right as the curtain opened up and the announcer said, "And now, give a warm welcome to...The Rebel Rockers!"
The music started.
Got some time to share, the sun is everywhere
Take my hand, let's do it together
Shake it up and dance, take a- take-a chance
It's gonna last, forever and ever
We gonna have some fun, we gonna get it done
(Do-oo-oo-oo-oo-ya!)
And do it together now, we gonna show you how...
We do it right, EVERYDAY!
Antonio was relieved when Jayden, Emily, Mike, and Kevin slipped into the audience.
All we want to have is fun, fun, fun...
Fun anyway...So just come and join us, one by one
Show what you know-ow! (yea, yea)
'N go-O! (yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
We can't let this moment pass...
Know-ow! (yea, yea)
'N go-O! (yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
Let's just make this party last...
He saw Mike start to dance, a dance that no one but Kevin was watching.
Now we're breaking free, everyone can see
It's our time, we're groovin' together
Shop until we drop, no we never stop...
Summer fun, we're havin' a party!
All we want is the best, don't need any regrets...
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
Being with my friends, means the world to me...
Let's do it like EVERYDAY!
Then came a voice that Terry was happy to hear. It was Mia. She was here. She did come.
And just this fact put a permanent smile on his face.
She gave Terry a wave, as the other four Rangers cheered even louder.
All we want to have is fun, fun, fun...
Fun anyway... So just come and join us, one by one
Show what you know-ow! (yea, yea)
'N Go-O! (yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
We can't let this moment pass...
Know-ow! (yea, yea)
'N go-O! (yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
Let's just make this party last...
As the music died down, Mia motioned for Terry to join her and Antonio up front, and he did.
(yea, yea) 'N go-O!
(yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
We can't let this moment pass...
Know-ow! (yea, yea)
'N go-O! (yea, yea) 'N know-ow!
Let's just make this party last...
As the song ended, the two Watanabe siblings shared a tight hug, as the other four Rangers gave them a standing ovation.

The other five decided to give Mia and Terry a moment to themselves.
The concert was over and Terry was packing up the equipment, and Mia had taken it upon herself to help him.
"You were great, Mia," he said. "I'm surprised you were able to learn the lyrics so fast."
"Thanks," Mia replied. "I had help from Antonio." She paused for a moment. "You could've told me the concert was for charity."
"You could've asked," Terry said. "But yes, I do love helping people. And raising money for charity with my concerts is the best way I know how to do that."
Mia paused again before wrapping her brother up in another hug.
"I'm very proud of you, Terry," she said. "And I do want you to be happy."
"Thanks, Sis," Terry replied, before the two broke the hug. "And y'know, if you ever do want to join us in the future, a spot will always be open for you."
"I'd appreciate that," Mia replied with a smile. "No way I'm ever giving up a chance to sing with the World's Greatest Band."
The two laughed, as the other five Rangers watch them from the sidelines with smiles all across their faces.
For one moment, everything was right in the world.

Original Shinkenger Episode: Act 34
Original PRS Episode: He Ain't Heavy Metal, He's My Brother
Inspiration: Reba's 6x11: "She's With the Band", Dino Charge's "Nightmare in Amber Beach"
Note: The original Samurai episode was really, really fun, so I kept in the spirit of it, as well as the song, though I added some little twists of my own and a couple from the original Shinkenger episode. However, if I have to fault the original episode for one thing, it was the fact the other Rangers weren't very supportive of Mia and her troubles with Terry. So I changed that, and I also added an explanation for why the Nighlock would attack a school (primarly by not making it summer vacation).

Season 2, Episode 10: "Set in Stone"
"Ji's assignment about forgiveness was only the tip of the iceberg. Emily had a feeling the assignment would weigh heavily on Antonio, and she was right."
