POV = Goldpaw

I am trying to decide the warrior name for Sunpaw and Goldpaw. What do you think of these options:

Goldpaw: Goldfeather vs Goldblossom

Sunpaw: Sunfire vs Sunbeam vs Sunburst

Just FYI, I am really clueless about what to write in Goldpaw's POV, so this might be really bad. But I wouldn't just skip this chapter even if it's bad because it will have important information. But if you're not that invested in this story, then don't bother.

" Goldpaw! Goldpaw, help me! "

I turned around. There was no one there.

" Goldpaw, please! " He sounded really desperate now.

I saw an image for a flash of a second. A cave strewn with blood.

" Goldpaw, I'm dying. " He was giving up.

I saw another flash. A gray cat that looked silver in the moonlight with dark amber eyes. He was literally crying blood. There was blood everywhere. I almost threw up. Blood spilled from his torn ear and his belly was cut in a straight line. You could clearly see the cut went deep. Very deep.

" Goldpaw... " He whispered.

I saw the flash again. A cat skulked in the shadows, his claws bleeding. He obviously had done this to that cat.

" Goldpaw! " He screamed. It was a blood-curdling scream that chilled me to my bones.

I saw the flash again. And I realized who that cat was.

Moonfrost. My brother.

I was supposed to be on a hunting patrol, but realizing that it was my brother

I raced through the territory and stopped when I smelled Shadowclan. I put a tentative paw over the boundary line. I felt fine. I used to think that if you crossed the border without permission, you could explode. But I didn't, so I ran.

I kept running until I realized that I had no idea where the Shadowclan camp was. I decided to follow the strongest trail of Shadowclan scent.

What am I doing? I'm running through Shadowclan territory because I heard a voice that convinced my brother was dying?

But I reached the camp, and walked through the bracken.

All eyes turned to me. A cat I recognized as Rowanclaw walked towards me, snarling.

" What are you doing here?! A Thunderclan apprentice! "

I took a step back.

" Goldpaw... Please...Help me... " Moonfrost whispered.

" My brother... I... he's, he's dying. " I stuttered.

" Your brother? " Ratscar growled, " Moonfrost? "

I saw him sitting next to the fresh-kill pile.

He was fine. I took another step back, and ran.

[ LINE BREAK ]

What were you thinking, Goldpaw? Moonfrost is fine! Why would he have been dying? You were obviously just imagining things. You should ask Jayfeather for something to help with hallucinations.

" Goldpaw! Where were you? " My mentor, Hazeltail yelled angrily.

" At... At the Shadowclan border? " I answered meekly.

" Doing what? " She demanded.

They would find out at the Gathering tomorrow anyways, so there was no use lying.

" I...I...I crossed the border. " I looked at the ground.

Hazeltail blinked. Then her sweet, worried eyes turned red angry with rage.

" YOU CROSSED THE SHADOWCLAN BORDER! " She screamed. Which caught the attention of Firestar and several others around us.

Firestar padded up.

" What did you just say, Hazeltail? " He said, menacingly.

" My apprentice just admitted that she crossed the Shadowclan border! " She said, narrowing her eyes at me.

I looked away, closing my eyes to brace for Firestar's rage.

" Why? " He asked.

I opened my eyes. " I-I just felt like it. "

His eyes blazed in anger.

" I'll deal with you later. Dustpelt! Please lead a patrol to the Shadowclan border. They may want to seek revenge and come onto our territory. Though, see if you can find a way to apologize for this apprentice's actions. " He padded back to his den as Dustpelt nodded and grabbed Cloudtail and Blossomfall.

" I guess I'll have to punish you if Firestar won't. " Hazeltail said dismissively.

I sighed, and padded over to the Medicine cat den to get the mousebile. I heard my mentor behind me, muttering under her breath. " I just felt like it? What kind of excuse is that. Of course I had to get the stupid one. "

The 'stupid one' comment stung, but I guess I deserved that.

Why did I say that? I couldn't have thought of anything better? Like, I was chasing a squirrel and didn't realize I crossed the border. But no. I'm the stupid one.

I pushed into the medicine cat den.

" Jayfeather?"

Ferntail poked her head out. " Goldpaw! " she said cheerfully.

I walked in and saw that Ferntail was tending to Brightheart who seemed to have a scratch on her shoulder.

Jayfeather was nowhere to be seen. Where was the medicine cat when you needed some medicine?

That must be why Ferntail was taking care of her, because she couldn't find Jayfeather.

" I, um, I need some mousebile? " I said it like a question for some reason.

" Oh, yeah! It's in the back. " She said.

I remembered a story that Whitewing had told me when I was a kit.

" Jayfeather was being nice to someone for the first time in...ever! Sure, he cared about his littermates and clanmates, but he could always get angry at them. But not with Ferntail. Ferntail was his first friend. Besides his stick. " She chuckled. I had no idea what stick she was talking about, but Jayfeather was one of the most cold-hearted and sharp-tongued cats I had ever met. So hearing that he was nice to someone, was something I was way too curious about.

" Everyone was talking about it. Jayfeather had made a friend! Most apprentices would want to focus on fighting, acting like they were the most powerful cats around the lake. But not Ferntail. She wanted to know everything. She actually enjoyed working with Jayfeather. That was surprising. Not even Lionblaze or Hollyleaf would spend the entire day with him. She was practically his apprentice! "

Thinking about that, I realized that I was wrong. Jayfeather was probably out searching for herbs or something and trusted Ferntail to take care of anything that would come up.

I remembered that earlier I had promised myself to ask for herbs that would help hallucinations.

" Hallucinating. " I blurted.

" What? " She tilted her head in my direction.

" I've been hallucinating. Do you know any herbs that could help with that? "

" Hallucinating? Are you sure? What did you see? " She interrogated, walking closer.

" I, uh, I saw... my brother? " I whimpered.

" Your brother? " Her eyes widened as she realized I meant Moonfrost.

She looked back at Brightheart and ushered me to the back.

" What exactly did you see about Moonfrost? " She said harshly.

I didn't want to tell her what I had seen. I wanted to get the words out, to tell someone about the horror I had seen. But not Ferntail. We weren't that close. But something about her dragged it out of me.

" I saw a cat in the shadows who... who... attacked him, " I stuttered, almost sobbing, " he was bleeding everywhere, unconscious too. In a pool of blood. I almost thought he was dead. "

She looked at me sympathetically.

" What did the shadowy cat look like? " she asked inquisitively.

" I couldn't see. " I shuddered.

She frowned. " I don't think that was a hallucination. Starclan has a habit of sending signs to cats that wouldn't realize it's a sign from them. "

" A sign? From Starclan?! "

" That's the way Starclan has become predictable. They will speak to the cats who don't think they're special. They would second guess themselves. They would ask themselves why Starclan would go to them instead of the clan leader or the medicine cat. But I think Moonfrost is in danger. Just not yet. " She sighed, " I have a lot of experience with Starclan. "

I stared at her. She had been the subject of a prophecy from Starclan?

" See if you can figure out who that cat of shadows is. " She said.

I liked how she kept renaming that cat. Shadowy cat, Cat of Shadows.

" I like that name. Cat of Shadows. I think I'll call him that now. "

She smiled.

" I'll get that mousebile for you. " She padded away.

After what she had said, I felt special. Would I be a part of a prophecy from Starclan? With Ferntail? We'd talk secretly with the others about new things coming up in the prophecy. Maybe I'd become life-long friends with the others. Whoever they were. And then we'd save the clan. Would I be able to do that? I would never be as a good a fighter as Ferntail. Maybe not even as good as Briarlight.

I turned around to look at Briarlight at the fresh-kill pile. Millie was fussing over her while she protested. She couldn't fight at all. I barely could either. I was a hunter. Maybe I didn't want to be part of a prophecy. Maybe I just had to work harder to reach that level. Maybe Hazeltail wouldn't be able to help me with that. Hazeltail wasn't that great herself. But who is 'that great'?

Lionblaze.

And he just happened to be talking to Cinderheart just outside.

I'm probably not even part of the prophecy. Maybe there isn't even a prophecy to begin with! Ferntail says there is. She didn't say prophecy though. She said Starclan sent me a sign. Me. Because I think that I'm not special. I guess I am.

Warring with the idea, I decided that it was better to be prepared. So I marched over to Lionblaze and broke up his conversation. I could make this work. I could change. I could become a great fighter.

I can do this.
