Sherlock was up and out of the house before Sophie was even out of bed. He couldnt face her, his cheeks heated up when he thought about the way he kissed her last night. Granted it was only on the forehead but he was confused and embarrassed. He just didnt do things like that!

Not knowing what else to do, he sent her a text wishing her luck, despite him not wanting her to have a job he didnt want her to feel like a prisoner and end up leaving, he liked living with her, she was witty and funny and she looked and cooked good too. No he wouldnt let her leave, and if that meant allowing her to have a job then so be it. Hailing a cab and making his way to Scotland Yard he turned his attention to a cold case Lestrade had given him the day before.

Waking up in bed Sophie knew she had been forgiven. She was disappointed to find Sherlock had left already without saying anything but once shed showered and dressed she saw his text wishing her good luck and that hed see her later she was happy again. With that she got ready for her interview.

And hour later at 10am sharp Sophie was standing in the local library waiting for the manager to show up. She was a little early but she was excited and confident she would get the job. She was wearing her new clothes, a pencil black skirt with a flowy white blouse, small heels and her hair up in a high pony tail, instead of wearing her contacts, she decided to wear her thick rimmed glasses. She preferred them, the only reason she wore contacts was when she was going out on a case with Sherlock as they had found once before she was practically blind without them and it didnt bode well to be chasing a suspect and have them fall off.

Taking a breath as she sees the manager walk down the hall towards her. He wasnt bad looking, a little shorter than Sherlock and Mycroft but not as short as John, he has short straight blonde hair, wide shoulders and a large smile. Shaking his hand she felt a tingle of unease, his eyes bored into hers and it made her a little uncomfortable. Letting go quickly they got on with the interview.

Half hour later Sophie walked out of the Library with a grin. She'd done it! Staring tomorrow she was the new librarian. Turning to wave slightly at the manager Tim her mind supplied, she felt that tingle down her spine again. Something about him gave her the creeps but she didnt know what. Hopefully she wouldnt see him too much, she would be working with an older woman named Cathy every day and manning the desk alone the final 2 hours before closing as Cathy needed to get home to care for her grandchildren after school.

Making her way down the road she wasnt aware of the eyes watching her walk away.

Having got home to an empty house Sophie decided she wanted to appologise to Sherlock for last night, She popped to the market and bought ingredients for his favourite chinese food and set to work. Baking biscuits and singing along to the radio. Mrs Hudson popped up for a coffee and to assist but soon had to leave as she was going to her Bridge game that evening and wanted to get ready. Making sure everything was in place Sophie went to answer the door when it rang. Opening it wide she was bombarded by a huge bouquet of flowers. Taking them and the card from the delivery man she went upstairs to find a vase. opening the card she grinned at the typed message saying.

Congratularions on your successful interview my Dear.Knowing, despite no signature that they were from Mycroft as he qas the inly one who called her 'my dear' she put them onto the table and admired them. Of course he would be the first to know she had gotten the job, she wouldnt be suprised if he had bugged the interview itself and stopped any other applicants from applying.

Sherlock returned at 7pm and he knew the minute he walked in that she had been given the job. He could smell his favourite chinese on the table and the freshly baked biscuits cooling on the stove. Flowers in his hand, already knowing Mycroft had sent some over but also knowing that Mycroft wasnt aware that her favourites were blue lillies. He made his way into the lounge and found Sophie dressed in her comfiest pjs. Swallowing he looked her up and down, trying to fight the blush that threatened to rise he looked at her long legs. Being in her short pj shorts emphasised just how long and slender she really was, having her tank top on over her bra also left nothing to the inagination. Noticing he was there she quickly hugged him round the neck, whispering 'welcome home' its was obvious she had missed him, and to be honest he had missed her aswell. Putting the flowers on the side he took her hand in his and twirled her into the kitchen, hearing her laugh and giggle at his antics.

They sat down for dinner and chatted about thier day, her excitedly telling him about the library and him telling her about how he had solved an 11 year old case that had been collecting dust. Life was good. However they should have known something would shatter the peace soon.
