Married for a year

Lena rested her head on her desk as her and Kara's child screamed again and jumped off the sofa. Callum came running in with a cape on and swooped onto the floor. "I'll get you evil Butterfly!" he hollowed, Laura giggled and tried to evade his arms.

"Noo!" she laughed and ended falling into Lena's desk.

"Can you stop it!" Lena snapped, her hands slamming on the desk. A few hours later she knew that was a bad call, but she had a headache and trying to do some work with a headache and loud chilling… very difficult. Laura's lip trembled and a tear fell down her eye. Callum saw his mothers face and quickly intervened.

"Hey, come Laur (Law). Let's go and see if Jas and Mitch are downstairs?" Laura nodded and Callum picked her up before they walked out. Lena groaned and rubbed her head.

Kara got in from work and saw Lena asleep on the sofa and no sign of their children. She put her coat on the hook and walked over to Lena. Quietly, she kneeled down next to Lena. She traced her face for a little bit with a loving smile.

"Lena," she whispered softly. Kara gently rubbed up and down her arm. "Babe wakey wakey eggs and bacy," a small smile grew on her face as she opened her eyes drowsily.

"Hey," she mumbled sleepily.

"Hiya," Kara said with a grin. "Where's our children?"

"Bed'oom. Movie," Lena mumbled. Kara gave her a kiss on the forehead before walking upstairs. Kara stuck her head round the door and found her kids on Callum's bed watching tv.

"Hey kids," she greeted. Laura grinned and jumped into Kara's arm. Kara spun her around and Laura wrapped her limbs around her — she was comfy just sitting in her mothers arms. "Hey big man," she greeted, ruffling Callum's hair.

"Hiya Kara," he replied with a grin, that slowly left as he thought of earlier.

"What's the matter?" Kara asked. He seemed hesitant to answer. He was fiddling with the remote and looking at his duvet. "Cal?"

"I don't think Mum is feeling well. She snapped at me and Laura earlier and- and she was rubbing her head," he answered. Kara gave a sad smile.

"Yeah, your mom has been under a lot of stress lately. I bet you two yelling and screaming this-and-that didn't help either," Kara said knowingly. Lena's headaches were like when Kara's hearing goes a little out of whack — well, not that extreme but she knew what it was like. "Why don't you two finish your film? Any suggestions for dinner?"

"PIZZA!" yelled Laura, Callum laughed and nodded his head. Kara grinned and hopped out the room. When she was behind the door, a sad smile graced her lips. What could she do to get the stress off of her wife?

"What about a trip to the park?" suggested Alex. Kara shrugged but realised she couldn't see her.

"Yeah… but Lena's busy at work all week and Snapper has been on my ass since October," Kara replied with a huff.

"What about the wee— Lilly, get down!— weekend?" Alex asked.

"Mmm. Good plan. Ooh! How about you, Maggie and Lils pop over and join us? We can have a picnic!" Kara got louder at the end with excitement. Alex laughed on her end.

"Erm, Kara…. You do realise it's December? And that both Lilly and Maggie have a cold?" Alex questioned with an amused chuckle. Kara winced.

"Ooh-kay. Just a park trip? We can have a snowball fight?"

There was silence on the other end before Alex repeated. "Lilly and Maggie have a cold,"

"So?"

"…..It's your funeral. We'll be at yours at 1 on Saturday," Alex then hung up.

"Come on, come on. Get ready," Kara said. She handed Callum his gloves and Laura her shoes. Why were kids so slow when she needed to get somewhere? "Auntie Alex and Auntie Maggie will be here soon with Aimee," Kara saw Callum roll his eyes. "Hey, keep doing that and they'll stay that way!"

"Yeah yeah," he muttered. "Where's mom?" he asked.

"I saw Mummy upstairs!" Laura said, fiddling with her velcro. Kara super sped upstairs and found Lena fast asleep. Kara chuckled and picked her up causing her to startle awake.

"Kara!" she breathed. Kara placed her down when they got downstairs and checked the clock on the wall.

"Kids, you two can go watch tv while we wait." Kara told them. They both muttered 'yes!' and ran off into the living room. Kara snagged Lena's wrist and she stumbled into the wall. Kara pressed against her and whispered in her ear, "I'm going to ask Alex to babysit. Then i'm going to—" she was cut off when the doorbell rang. Kara pressed her head on the wall next to Lena's head and Lena laughed.

"Callum, get the door!" Lena shouted. Kara whimpered a little and covered her ear without moving her head. "Sorry baby," Lena said and kissed her neck.

"Okay mom!" Callum yelled back. Kara and Lena stayed in the weird hug until they heard Aimee's excited call if Laura. Supercorp smiled at that and then stifled giggles when they heard Maggie whining.

"Aleeex, I want to stay home!" she dragged out. Kara and Lena untangled themselves and walked out to where Maggie and Alex were. Maggie was in a snow white coat with gloves whereas Alex was in a rain coat and was holding a hat.

"Hi Mags, Alex. Maggie, are you cold?" Kara asked, giving Alex a big hug and then Maggie a hug. Maggie moved away and sneezed.

"No. I have a cold," she grumbled. Kara, Lena and Alex laughed because she sounded weird due to her blocked nose. "I'm jus' happy Aimee is feeling better,"

"Yes. She was very clingy past few days," Alex piped up.

"Excuse me, I am going to find my niece. Maggie, go make tea and put it in one of them special cups so you can drink it at the park," Lena said. Both of them walked off leaving the sisters.

"You know all she is going to do is complain," Alex said after a while.

"Pssht. It's a day at the park—"

"That's covered in snow," Alex interjected.

"- it's a day at the park, with her wife, sisters in-law, daughter and niece and nephew," Kara carried on as if she didn't speak.

Alex just waved her hand and went to see Laura and Callum.

"Hey! Aimee! Don't throw snowballs in peoples face!" Alex yelled. Aimee turned around from where she was at the climbing frame and grinned before lobbing it at Callum. It hit him in the face. "Aimee Sawyer-Danvers!"

"Sorry Mommy!" she shouted.

"Sorry my ass," Alex muttered.

"Now you know how Eliza felt for 18 years," Kara piped up with a cheeky grin; it even got a smirk out of Maggie.

"You were only there for the four remaining years of my childhood!" argued Alex, Lena would have thought Kara'd be sad at the reminder but the space puppy merely had a smug smile. "How the heck would you know!?"

"I have my ways…." Kara said vaguely.

11 years earlier…

"And this is a video tape of Alex when she was 4!" Eliza said excited. She put it on and they watched.

"Hey! Get that camera outa my face Mommy!" Little Alex said, stomping closer to the camera.

"But Baby, you were about to show us your high kick!" Eliza defended.

"Yeah. Come on Alex. Your dad here wants to remember this and shove it in your face when your 27 and at your wedding with the most wonderful guy ever!" Jeramiah added. Kara made a sad face at the realisation he wouldn't be able to do that.

"Ewww. No! I am gonna marry a beautiful girl. Boys are stinky and annoying!" Alex lost her train of thought before going back to the issue at hand. "And I get stage fright! So turn the vam camera off!" the video came to a stop at a 4 year old Alex with her hands on her hips and hair down only just past her shoulders. Her front tooth was missing and she was wearing muddy jeans and a purple tshirt — Kara assumed saying 'vam' was her version of 'damn'.

"You-hoo!" whistled Alex.

"Big summer blow out," Maggie added… she then promptly sneezed. Alex and Kara laughed. "Sh't it. Made a joke din' I?" she grumbled. Alex kissed her cheek.

"Anyway, where did you go?" she asked.

"Just remembering when I was fifteen. You were at a sleepover and Eliza showed me a video of you when you were four," Alex turned red.

"MOMMY!" called Laura. Kara spun around in a panic but found Laura and Callum tickling Lena and Aimee was making a mountain of snowballs with an evil glint in her super cute face. Kara super sped over to Aimee and helped make snowballs. Alex looked at Maggie and took pity.

"Kar, me and Mags are going to pop to Starbucks. Get a hot choc," she told her. Kara nodded.

"Okay!" then went back to snowballs making. Alex held her hand and they walked off. Soon enough they heard:

"Aaaaaah! Stop it! Sto- it's cold! Kara!"

"Hahahahahah!" giggled the youngest kids and they could hear Callum's genuine laugh along with Kara's.
