"It's not solid." The words were met with stunned faces all around the room. "Hokage-sama is raging like a fire jutsu, Danzo-san is hard to pin down like trying to catch fog, Hiashi-san is solid, sort of hard to move. Kakashi-Nii is a bundle of energy, but the clone its…watered down I guess? It's like it's not all there." Naruto said as he pointed to each person in the room in turn. He wasn't sure if he had explained it well enough, but he hoped that he had gotten his point across. The room around him was silent until finally a small noise came from Kakashi, a half chuckle. Somehow this seemed like the breaking point for the rest of the room and suddenly it was filled with laughter. Naruto was worried that he was being laughed until a hand landed on top of his head.

"You really are something aren't you Naruto?" Jiraiya said as he rubbed his head affectionately. "You've got a real special ability, or at least something similar to it. You're a sensor type ninja. Your chakra is especially sensitive to the elements. You just described the chakra natures of the people in this room except for me."

"He'll need special training." Danzo said as he sat on one of the couches his cane still in hand. "Sensors are rare as it is, normally relegated to stealth and recon work, but that won't work for him."

"Very true Danzo." Hiruzen said "Due to his other circumstances he will never be an effective stealth user. Perhaps we can use this in another way, however. Kakashi, you use a certain amount of prediction in your fighting style correct?"

"Yes Hokage-sama. The Sharingan can help predict movements and jutsu and gives me an edge over my opponents." Kakashi responded repeating information he already knew everyone in the room was aware of.

"Hiruzen you sly dog, I see where your thoughts are leading you. Naruto, can you feel this?" Naruto turned toward Danzo and focused on him and he felt something different. There was still the main feeling of being hard to pin down, but there was something else akin to a storm brewing.

"Yes, there's something different, but its hard to concentrate on, it's almost overpowered by the main feeling." Naruto explained as he had to focus all of his attention on the man in front of him and focus less on the background. "It feels like a storm, like that feeling you get before it rains where you can smell it on the air."

The room was full of noises once again and Naruto noticed that he had everyone's attention on him. "What? It's just what it feels like." He said defensively.

"Naruto what you're feeling is Danzo molding chakra, with much more accuracy than most any other ninja can do. Normal ninja who are advanced enough can feel chakra building up, Kakashi can see the chakra surge and how it is molded moments before it is released because of his Sharingan, Hiashi can see the chakra flow with his Byakugan at all times. Sensors are a mix of both they have the ability to feel the nature of the person, when the chakra is moving and how it changes moments before it is released. The downsides are normally enough to force a ninja into a special route due to the sensitivities that come with it, but you seem to have none of the normal ones. No sensitivity to light or sound, no hyper focus, nothing. This is dangerous indeed, if you were trained on how to notice the shifts and changes in the heat of battle and with your massive chakra pool, you could easily become an impossible to overcome obstacle." Hiruzen explained to Naruto. "For now, keep this a secret Naruto, it could prove dangerous in the wrong hands, we will discuss this more later once you enter the academy proper."

"I'm telling you Kiba, there's no way you beat Sasuke in throwing." Naruto said as the group of students moved outside the classroom and onto the grounds. "He's just to good, I can barely keep up with him."

"Ahh what do you know anyway Naruto. You're probably still just sore that Ino lik…" Kiba didn't get to finish his sentence when Naruto's hand landed over his mouth and he piped up "Sensei I'd like to spar with Kiba today! He asked for a fight just now."

"Sure, first to ring out or pin is the winner, no below the belt hits and Taijutsu only." Iruka said as they entered the sparring area. Naruto ran to the opposite side quickly. Kiba entered the ring not long afterward and when Iruka started the match they both moved.

Kiba went low while Naruto approached at a middle position. Punches traded back and forth some blocked others dodged while they started to get warmed up. The fight continued this way for about a minute until a lucky blow caught Kiba in the ribs, at which point Naruto capitalized by grabbing the other boy by the shoulder and sweeping one of his feet, transferring all of his weight onto the shoulder where he had grabbed him Naruto basically flying pinned the boy, and when they hit the ground Kiba let out a grunt of pain from beneath him.

Kiba took the opportunity to land a knee to the stomach which dazed the boy allowing Kiba to roll out from under him aborting the pin and the end of the match. Low on the ground Kiba moved to take Naruto at the knee and start his own pin, the boys separated shortly, after a struggle where neither could gain the upper hand. Kiba was breathing hard, but Naruto was standing there grinning. He tilted his head in a questioning manner and was met with a headlong charge which Naruto dodged by sidestepping and grabbing the boy by the back of a pants leg causing him to trip and slide right out of the ring.

"Winner by ring out Naruto, what did we learn?" Iruka said as he walked into the ring.

"Kiba is easy to trick into overreacting. Also, my ground game needs work, that blow to the gut came out of nowhere." Naruto said as he offered Kiba a hand to pull him up. Kiba responded while taking the arm. "Better awareness of my surroundings, Naruto manipulated the fight to put me near the edge of the ring and then bait me forward."

"Good work both of you. Who's next?" Iruka said as he pulled Shikamaru and Shino into the ring next, Naruto stood back as he became aware of a nagging feeling behind him, and when he turned he saw Mizuki, the assistant to Iruka, looking at him from where he was supervising the girls throwing training. He furrowed his brow as he turned back around and was only knocked out of it when Sasuke nudged him.

"You want to go again at the end? I know Choji tried his hardest, but he's just not on the same level." Sasuke said as Naruto turned back around. He eyed the boy next to him, his best friend, almost his brother. He was taller than him now by about an inch, his dark hair spiked upwards at random spots while his bangs hung on each side of his face. Blue shirt with the Uchiha symbol on the back, white shorts with classic ninja sandals finishing the look. He nodded about to respond when he was interrupted by a familiar weight landing on his right shoulder.

"Naru-chan Sas-chan, why are you over here being so broody? Ohh, are you two going to put on a show for all of us?" Ino said with her head rested on the two boy's shoulders.

"A show? I haven't the slightest idea what you mean." Naruto responded.

"Oh come on Naruto, we all know that you two are just performing." Ino sing-songed as she pulled away from between the two before shoving the both of them forward into Iruka. "Iruka-Sensei I heard Naruto and Sasuke wanted to spar at the end!" This was met with oohs and Iruka nodding at them without looking keeping his eye on the match in front of him.

After the current match finished and two more had gone by Iruka called the two boys out to the ring. "Alright you two, keep it simple, nothing overtly fancy, and try to not seriously injure each other. I'll be watching closely. Hajime!" and with that Iruka lept backwards right as the sand kicked up and Sasuke was in front of Naruto already halfway through a round house kick, which Naruto ducked under feeling the wind from the kick ruffle his hair. Naruto stepped forward still low and went for a punch to the ribs which Sasuke parried off of his arm. The two traded blows back and forth neither landing a decisive strike one way or the other, flips, dodges, and parries were thrown out together. Sasuke was faster in the tight quarters of the sand pit, but Naruto was physically stronger and was known for his tricky plans.

Right swing, two steps back, let Sasuke advance, feint right kick, switch to overhead swing, parry his reaction gut shot. Naruto's entire thought process was on the fight, he couldn't even think of the crowd cheering or he would lose his concentration. There was so much chakra around him, it made him dizzy. Every time they spared, he was held back by the adrenaline and the chakra that always came surging during training days. The colors were so bright, drawing his eyes to the distractions. Lost in the fight Naruto didn't notice as he was approaching the ring of the arena except for the slight incline his feet were coming up against.

Sasuke grinned as he stepped up, slipping from side to side seemed to be the new strategy against Naruto, whatever it was when he did this Naruto became unfocused and easier to hit. And there he could see Naruto's eye recenter on him just a second to late as he delivered a vicious jab to the stomach followed up by an elbow from the opposite side to the face that left Naruto laying on the ground outside of the sand pit fighting area. The crowd of students around them started oohing and awing and talking about the fight that had lasted nearly five minutes. But Sasuke was frowning, Naruto wasn't moving, his eyes completely unfocused. Sasuke dashed forward knees sliding in the grass as he came to a stop beside Naruto.

"Hey! Hey Naruto! You okay?" Sasuke called, but Naruto didn't respond eyes still unfocused unseeing. Ino landed beside him a second later her head landing on Naruto's chest.

"He's breathing but extremely shallow, heartrate is weak." She reached and drew her fingers along the space right below his armpit where Sasuke knew she knew he was ticklish. "No response to outside stimulus. He's completely out cold! How hard did you hit him Sasuke?" Her voice rose in urgency signaling to the people around who were listening to go quiet and Iruka to start pushing through the students.

"Not hard enough to do this, but did you see at the end of the fight? He was unfocused, his eyes were drifting, I thought it was just fatigue from the fight." Sasuke said as Iruka finally pushed through the crowd and Sasuke looked up at him only for Iruka to gasp. Sasuke saw every detail on the mans face, he saw the crowds eyes now all trained on him instead of on Naruto. "What are you staring at?! Get a medic! Naruto is down! Why is everyone just standing there staring?" Sasuke said as no one reacted to his yelling. A hand landed on his shoulder from across Naruto.

"Sasuke its only been a few seconds, why are you acting like they've been standing there for a minute?" and then Ino's blue-green eyes widened. "Sasuke your eyes… Sharingan"

Naruto cracked his jaw as he stood up from his place on the ground eyes still closed. "Good fight Sasuke, that one two jab-elbow is nasty." Naruto said waiting on a response that he never got. He opened his eyes and was met with a world dulled in color and not moving. Sasuke was standing where he was when he had hit the ground just coming out of the blow he had dealt, Ino was mid cheer for them still hovering in the air, Iruka was looking down at his clipboard pencil mid word, the crowd around him frozen as well, even a bird in the sky wasn't moving.

Naruto wandered from person to person poking and prodding trying to get some semblance of reaction, but he was met with nothing he couldn't even move Ino or Sakura two of the lightest girls in the class. After running out of ideas he wandered, he wandered far from his little training area, up to the crowded clan districts, into the market section, he wandered the entire village finally ending up in the Hokage's office.

Jiji was smoking from his pipe looking at a pile of paperwork unmoving, the smoke hanging in the air around him caught in the same strange time stopped effect. Given enough time Naruto even noticed the four hidden Anbu in the room, watching guard as was their duty. He stood and looked out over the village through the open window, almost certain he could smell what was once a breeze. He didn't know how long it had taken him to travel all the distance he did or how long he stood watching the frozen scene before him.

"It's beautiful in its own right." A voice came from behind him nearly causing him to bolt right out the open window, only stopping himself by grabbing ahold of the window on either side of him. He spun around to see a fox sitting on Jiji's head, balancing on the wide red Hokage Hat. It was small, barely two feet high from feet to top of head, its eyes were a curious golden amber, and its fur was glossy blue ending in nine tails tipped with white.

"I'm sorry it took me so long, I didn't expect to be able to talk to you for another year possible two, I was in the middle of a beautiful nap and when I awoke the world was frozen meaning you had arrived. I went to where you were at when it happened, but you were long gone I finally managed to track you down, though I should have known. You always did like this view." The fox said as it peered at him with its bright eyes.

"You're the Kyuubi." Naruto said; It wasn't a question, it wasn't stated cruelly, or with hate. It was a fact.

"You're very calm to be met with the Demon sealed in your chest." It said with curiosity clear in its voice.

"You've been with me my entire life; you should know how I feel." Naruto said as he leaned back against the window ledge.

"While I can observe and hear the things that go on around you, and even some of your emotions. I can't read your thoughts without your permission. Its part of the seal on your chest." The fox said flicking one of its tails toward his chest where he felt a sudden heat.

"I'm sure you have questions; I'm prepared to answer most of them." The fox said as it raised its paw to its face and licked at it rubbing it along its head afterwards.

"Mmm, just like that? Nothing in return? I was warned you may try and trick me." Naruto questioned.

"The only thing I want is my freedom, that is unattainable without killing you. With your years being mostly peaceful you have not needed my intervention, so I've been full of energy for a long time. I've been awake for years, that's a lot of time to think Naruto. Think and observe. I'm stuck here inside of you, If I had only just woken up, I would be angry, berserk with rage, and be unwilling to even deal with you, but I've had time to calm. You will be asked to learn to use my power, it is the fate of all Jinchuriki. I propose a deal, I will work with you to control this power, you will grant me leave to observe more to see and hear with a greater quality than I have before, and the ability to speak with you. In the future the deal may need changed as you grow things may happen. As a Kitsune, I can not break a deal once I have given my word, but I will give you a good faith gift." The fox explained as it hopped own and padded across the floor to the window seal where it jumped up and looked out the village it had once destroyed.

"You have been suffering as all Sensor type ninja do from the overwhelming amount of information coming in from around you. It is why you lost the most recent duel with your rival Sasuke. I offer you the gift of my battle-lust. It will help you stay centered and focused on the fight instead of what is around you this is a freebie you owe me nothing for it that is my word.

Think on my offer, go to your Hokage and speak with him, make sure Jiraiya is there, have him check the seal soon as well. There is a potential leak at subjoint twenty-two of the sixth trigram that will eventually build into a problem for your chakra control." The fox said as the world faded back into color and suddenly Naruto was somewhere else with several pairs of eyes on him.

"I need my father, Jiraiya, and the Hokage. It's an emergency!"
