When the sky has finally become dark, Obito slowly pull away, his eyes swollen. She felt somewhat empty with his sudden lack of presence.

"We should head back. It's already dark." He tried an awkward smile. "Minato-sensei will get very worried. Let me take you back."

"Okay." She smiled lightly while her hand tried to reach for his own.

"N-N-Naruto!" The boy yelped and she could see the familiar blush on his face.

"You don't want to hold my hands?"

"I-It's not like that!" It seems the boy had a mental battle in his head. After a while, his hands tightened around hers.

She said nothing, just smiled casually. They were both silent all the way, but she didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

When they reached her home, she could see the light on, smoke rising from the chimney. Her brother and sister-in-law must be preparing dinner.

"I will head back now. I will... see you later?" Obito asked hesitantly, she could actually the nervousness visible on his face.

Gigling, she took a step closer to him and then... gave him a peck on his cheek, which made him squealed and stumbled backwards, his face reddened in its glory.

"See you again and..." she smiled, trying to calm her own nervousness. "Please take care of me in the future."

She grinned happily, with that she turned to go into the house, but she could felt Obito's chakra vibrating rapidly.

"Yatta." She heard his loud exclamation behind the door. Her face blushed vehemently.

Did I do it right? It was the first time I initiated something like that.

"Stop fuzzing already. You are clearly enjoy the whole situation, didn't you? Just the first date and you have already given him a kiss. Honestly, I didn't expect someone as dense as you to be so bold or take the first step at all."

"Shut it, Kurama. I'm already 17 years old mentally, you know. I should know at least that much."

"For someone who claimed to know about love, you're totally oblivious to others' intentions."

Before she could retort, she saw her brother standing in the hallway waiting for her, covered in dark aura, his face looked pretty displeased.

"Nii-san, I'm home." Try to ignore his gloominess. "How was your day?"

"Mine was casually good, not as good as yours though."

She chuckled nervously, it seems her brother's being overprotective again. Well it bothers her sometimes, but she guess she kinda like the attention. Since she was so used to being alone, the feelings of being cared by someone was ... nice.

"What are you saying, mine was just typical." Naruto grinned widely as she dragged her brother to the dining room, where his soulmate was setting up the table. "I'm home, Kushina-neesan."

The red-haired woman smiled at her affectionately.

"Welcome back! How was your meeting with your soulmate?"

When Kushina-neesan first heard the news, she was overexcited and often took her out for private girl talks. She was the one encourage Naruto to talk with Obito, much to Minato's dismay, and give him a chance, so she did.

Truth to be told, Naruto's still very nervous around Kushina. Even though the red haired before her was not her mother, just like Minato, she couldn't help but get emotionally attached to the woman. She wanted to call the couple her parents, call Minato father , call Kushina mother, but she knew that would be inconvenient and it was not her place to do that, it was for their future child, not her! It pained her sometimes, but the fact that she could be around them, talk to them and bonding with them was appreciative enough. She was content with just that.

"It was okay. You were right, Obito-san is a very nice guy." Naruto gave her a warm smile, remembering her past interaction with Obito.

"Well, he was nice enough to be received a peck on the cheek by you, after all." Stated her brother tonelessly, a little on edge.

"Stop that, Minato. They were young and innocent, some small affections like that were fine, you know." His soulmate scolded him amusingly. "But, really? You already kissed? Man, kids these day grew up so fast."

"It was just a small peck on the cheek." Her face heated up, Naruto explained hurriedly.

"Same thing. You two would look so cute together!" Kushina-neesan grinned at her, clearly tried to tease her.

"Naruto, you are not allowed to kiss until you are 30!" Her brother said in such a serious tone. If I wait until 30 in this dimension, mentally I would be 35! Wait does that mean she is in a relationship with a younger guy now?

At that thought, she blushed more heavily, which made the red haired laughed even more enthusiastically.

Peaceful days like this were truly precious to her, she didn't know why she was sent here, but each moments here to her was full filling.

Obito was so sleepy, he had a hard time to get to sleep the previous night. Like seriously, everything happened yesterday was just like a dream.

He had talked with his soulmate, he had been totally emotionally vulnerable in front of her, show Naruto his ugly thoughts but she still accepted him and even kiss him on his right cheek, a little lower than the nose, near his eyes, approximately 1-2 seconds, and it made him feel so amazing! Never in his life did he feel so happy like that before, on his way back home everything was just so bright and marvelous, he imagined even Kakashi wouldn't irritate him with his rules and laws talks.

Blushing, he couldn't suppress the idiotic grin on his face.

Everything has been so impeccable so far. Now that Obito had someone to protect, he had to train harder. He knew that Naruto was plenty stronger than him and was perfectly capable of protecting herself. But they are soulmates, he should at least strong enough to not be a burden to her.

SMACK!

Lost in his thought, he couldn't avoid the direct hit from Kakashi, fell backwards and his face met the ground.

"Why can't you for once take this more seriously?" Irritatingly stated his white hair teammate. "We are in a middle of a sparring and you decided to daydream some ridiculous fantasy of yours. How will you ever improve at this rate."

Obito felt extremely sour at the comment but he couldn't retaliate since that was kind of true.. He had just made a resolution a second ago and the next he had already failed. He had to put more effort into this

"I couldn't sleep well last night. Let's do this again, I will give you a piece of me!" Yelled loudly as he point at Kakashi, who then just rolled his eyes, totally unimpressed at his exclamation.

"I'm glad you decided to have such firm determination" said Minato-sensei behind him. "Though I really wonder what was the caused for your insomnia."

Obito cringed. That morning, when Minato-sensei fetch him for their early morning training. He hadn't mentioned anything about last night, the man just doubled his training and glared at him all the while. Guess he must have known about the kiss.

And the familiar blush adored back on Obito's, which made his mentor's eyes visibly twitched, clearly trying to calm himself down.

"Anyway, tomorrow we will have a special mission outside of the village. Our mission will be accompanied by two more jounins. Meet me at 5 o'clock tomorrow morning at the gate. You should go back and rest early. And Obito?"

"Yes, sensei?" He asked nervously.

"I advise you to be on time." The way the man smiled really sent chills down his spine.

"Yes, I will!"

"You'd better." Stated Kakashi unconvinced.

Obito just shrugged and glared at him.

"Alright team, dismiss!"

With that everyone left, Obito also on his way back to the apartment then halt halfway.

Should I tell Naruto about this? In case she came to find me. But I guess Minato-sensei should have told her already... But I kind of want to see her?

He blushed again though he felt more comfortable and warm-hearted when he thought of his soulmate.

He turned and dashed to Naruto's home.

Will Naruto be annoyed to see me? Am I being too clingy? Girls wouldn't like that, would they?

Depressing thoughts kept pop upbut quickly vanished at the memories of last night. Naruto had accepted him even in his most pathetic moment, soothed his insecurities, told him that she wanted to get to know more about him. Obito was sure it would be fine, Naruto was too kind to have nasty thoughts like that. He will be mindful to not be too pushy.

Naruto is at the training ground 30, feeling extremely perturbed. As she remembered, the following day's mission would be the Kanabi bridge event, where Hatake Kakashi lost one eye and Uchiha Obito gave him one of his Sharingans, then sacrificed himself. Madara and Black Zetsu had gone so there would be no one to resurrect him. Uchiha Obito of this world is her soulmate. She has come to get attached to the cheerful and kind hearted raven haired boy. She had changed many fated events that would caused disastrous consequences. But she is really nervous right now. She must save Obito from his destiny. She had convinced Sandaime to let her participate in the mission to avoid casualties, which the elder Hokage worriedly insist to include Shisui in the mission as well, which caused Naruto quite a dilemma.

Uchiha Shisui is definitely a talented shinobi, but the mission tomorrow will be very tricky. She didn't want to endanger her young teammate. He had so much to live for. She thought of using a bunch of Shadow clones to immobilize the enemies first before they get there. However, she was worried if doing something like that would change the courses of the wars and affect anyone's life. But then again, she had altered many events. A little more adjustments shouldn't be problem, right?

"Multiple Shadow Clones." Thousands of clones appeared as she muttered her signature technique.

"You guys know what to do. We have to ensure the safety of every members tomorrow without fail! Now split up and knock out all of the enemy shinobi. Then seal them up and hand over to Sandaime."

"Understand, boss." The clones immediately departed as she finished her instructions.

We have come this far, I just can't fail!

All the while Kurama just stay silent. During the time she was stressed, she would rather drown herself in quite surroundings and fixate on her chaotic sentiments, the fox knows this so he didn't say anything. She was thankful for that.

When she was in the middle of coming up with back up plans, she picked on Obito's charkra signal heading to her place. The boy seemed to have searched for her. Adjusting her expressions, she calmly waited for his arrival.

After several minutes, Obito landed in front of her, offering her a nervous smile.

"Hi, Are you still in the middle of your training?"

"I have just finished my sessions." Gently reply her soulmate. "What's wrong?"

"It's just that I have a mission out of the village tomorrow, I just want to tell you that." Obito has relaxed quite a bit by now.

"Huh..? My brother didn't tell you ..?" Shisui and her are supposed to join with team Minato for the mission. Surely Sandaime must have informed her brother that. Why hadn't he told his team?

"Since my squad leader had been assigned secret mission by Sandaime, Shisui and I will be temporarily join your team for the time being. So we will accompany you tomorrow."

"What!" The boy exclaimed loudly, his tone conveyed confusion and excitement. "Why no one told me this. So the two jounins support our mission is you and Shisui? And in the future you two will be my teammates?"

"It's just for temporary. You don't want me to be your teammate?" Well, she knew that was not the truth. She just kind of have this urge to tease her soulmate.

"NO!" Obito objected immediately. "I-I-I meant of course not. I would be very happy to be in the same team of m-m-my soulmate."

His voice became softer and softer and gradually became a whisper at the end of the sentence. It was an endearing sight.

"I know. I just want to tease my adorable soulmate." Delightfully assured him as she chuckled.

As she had expected, his face turned completely reddened by her remark. Now she understand why people would want to tease someone. The sight of their awkward expressions was truly precious.

"D-don't call me a-adorable. I'm older than you, you know." He pouted a little. "And...you are much cuter."

Now it was her turn to blush, she was not used to get complimented, let alone anyone call her cute.

"Both of you are such idiots." she heard Kurama's comment but she didn't retaliate.

"So..." Started slowly as she regained her composure "Do you want to have some dango and then head back to rest early? We have to depart quite early tomorrow."

"Ok. Let's go!" At first the boy seemed startled but his mood visibly brightened up after that. He beamed at her "Today let's have some take away and I will show you my favorite spot."

She happily agreed and followed him.

Tomorrow will undoubtedly be a long and stressful day. But she won't fail, no matter what. Obito is her soulmate and he has quickly become one of her most precious person in this dimension. She will protect him at all cost.
