"I- Oh Trucy! You shouldn't have done this…"
The fragrance of roses settled into the room. A cluster of said flowers were set inside a light blue top hat. Standing across Bonny was Trucy, who somehow produced a bundle of roses from her hat as if they were a bouquet, and was now offering them to her assistant.
"You're wonderful, Bonny. You've been an amazing assistant to me, and if you hadn't spoken up during my trial… I owe you a huge favor, in all honesty."
"No no no! If anything, I owe you a lot more than you do!" If it weren't for you, I-I don't know where I would be! And I helped Roger and Betty with that awful prank…" Bonny turned away from Trucy, tears forming at the corner of her eyes. "…I still did all those horrible things because I couldn't stand up to my sister. I don't know how you could forgive me, Trucy."
"Bonny." Trucy's eyes had become serious at once. The shame and guilt running through the violet-haired magician ceased to be, and the ever so slightly quivering structure of her body straightened at once. If she were to be honest, she liked the confident, in-control energy Trucy seemed to emit at times. It was comforting, relaxing, even. It was everything Bonny wished she could be.
"I forgave you because I know that neither you nor Betty aren't bad people at heart. I understand that you did all those things because Betty forced you to, and I know that standing up to her wasn't something you thought you could do. And forgiving Betty was… hard, to say the least," Trucy's voice sounded unsure on the last part, which Bonny noted but decided not to pursue the matter.
"But please understand that I don't hate you or Betty for what happened. I don't want you to beat yourself up over what happened."
If any hint of sadness was present on Bonny's face, then they had all but vanished. Her usual cat-like smile had crept back on her face, this time with a hint of red forming on her cheeks. Her eyes now possessed a sense of gratefulness as well as her pose returning to her more relaxed state a few minutes ago.
"Thank you, Trucy. I wish I could repay you, somehow…"
"If it's repayment you want," Trucy said as she held up the rose-filled top hat, "Then I'd be delighted if you took one of these."
The roses had completely escaped the older girl's mind, as her subtle surprise made it clear. Gently, she took one of the flowers and started to observe it, its fragrance and beauty as strong as ever. When she was finished and turned her sight to the younger girl, she was met with a grin that seemed to stretch from ear to ear.
"So, how is it?"
Bonny returned the smile.
"It's beautiful. I couldn't have asked for anything better."
