Hello again and welcome to Chapter 4! I'm going to keep it short a simple so let's get straight into it. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 4:

Driving back into Hawkins centre, Steve, Dustin, Nancy and Robin couldn't believe their eyes. The whole place was in an up roar of police and panicked citizens wondering what was happening as they crowed around a nearby street. Cars were being stopped and searched as people came and went from town, and Steve's car was no exception. They pulled over as a police officer flagged them down and Steve rolled his window down as the officer bent down to look through with his flash light. He shined it on each person in turn without saying a word, not caring if he was blinding them or not.

"What seems to be the problem officer?" Steve asked as the flashlight shone straight into his eyes making him squint.

"Pop your trunk" the officer demanded without any explanation.

Steve did as he was told with some slight hesitation, his mind had now decided to send itself into overdrive. Did he have any weapons back there? Anything that might suggest criminal activity. Thankfully it was all clear and once satisfied that Steve's car was clear, the officer thanked them for their cooperation.

"Thank you. You can be on your way now. Stay safe and don't hang around for to long" he told them.

"Please!" Nancy grabbed his attention as she shouted through Steve's still open window before he could walk away, "Please can you tell up what is going on?"

The officer sighed before turning back to speak with them again.

"There has been an attack at the local store. Two people have been attacked and one is in critical condition. The perpetrator hasn't been caught, so we're doing the best we can to rectify that. If you want to do what's best for yourselves, go home and only go out when you need to. At least until this maniac is caught"

They all shared a knowing look inside of the car as the officer went to walk away again. Once more, Nancy managed to call him back.

"One more thing..." she began.

"Look, I'm busy so make it quick" the officer answered beginning to get annoyed.

"Erm...when you say attacked. Were the victims being... well, drained of blood?"

"How do you know that?" The cop asked a little suspicious a she shined his flashlight straight on her.

"Oh it was...it was just a guess...you know, after what happened with that girl from this morning" Steve quickly thought of an excuse for her.

"Nice" Dustin whispered from the back seat quietly enough for only the car occupants to hear.

"I see..." the cop stared at them all for a few minutes as if thinking something over, "One of the men managed to get away thankfully. He's still on scene giving a statement so hopefully he'll be able to identify the attacker. You don't need to worry about a thing, we will catch the criminal soon enough"

He had clearly taken their interest in the subject, for them being worried about their safety. Thankfully they hadn't risen as much suspicion as they had feared.

"Thank you officer" They all thanked him before driving off.

"Well I think it's safe to say this case is definitely connected to Sarah's attack" Nancy spoke first.

"And it had to have been Eddie" Dustin added, clearly upset. He couldn't understand why his friend would be attacking people like this.

"If Eddies definitely back" Robin pointed out.

"It's Eddie" Nancy confirmed as she pulled the bundle she had picked up in the forest from under her car seat, she had shoved them there when she spotted the officers checking cars, "These are definitely the clothes he was wearing. Add in the fact we found them in the same spot we heard him shout from..."

"Yeah...ok... it's Eddie" Robin caved, "But I mean...we need more, well, definite proof?"

They all thought hard for a moment. It was pretty obvious Eddie was back, all the evidence was there. Either way, they still found it hard to believe themselves. So how could they solidify the evidence?

"Pull over!" Nancy suddenly ordered causing Steve to slam on the breaks.

"What is it?" He asked panicked.

"We need to go talk to the man that was attacked. That officer said he was still on scene right?"

"Yes, but in case you missed it, that place is completely blocked off..." Steve reasoned.

"I'm sure there will be a way through" Nancy finished as she exited the car, "There always is!"

"Wait, your really going?" Dustin asked from the back, "Count me in!"

He was about to exit the vehicle as well, until Steve spoke again.

"At least let me park somewhere safer!" He ordered them all, "And you can't really sneak anywhere Henderson, crutches aren't known for stealth"

"I'm going and that's that"

"I said no"

"You can't stop me!"

"Seriously guys!" Nancy interrupted them from where she stood at the side of the road agitated, "Park the damn car and let's go!"

"Fine" Steve gave in, "But don't blame me when we all get caught!"

He pulled up to a safer spot and got out of the car before beginning to march off.

"Wait...are we all going?" Robin asked from where she still sat in the back. Getting no answer as the others walked off, she quickly got out and ran towards them, "Hey! Wait for me!"

Scoping around, the gang managed to find a cordoned off area that no one was paying any attention to.

"Is the coast clear?" Steve asked as they quietly walked up to it, Dustin doing his best to make as less noise as possible with his crutches.

"I can't see anyone" Robin answered as she looked around wildly, "I can't believe we're doing this"

"What's the big deal?" Dustin asked, "We literally did this to get into the trailer park earlier..."

"Yes, but that place has been practically abandoned by everyone. The cops are still hear! Like, right over there!"

"Shh" Nancy hushed them, "No ones looking. Let's go"

She held up the crime scene tape and everyone quickly crouched underneath. Glancing around, they saw an ambulance parked near to the stores entrance. Figuring that the injured man must be in there, they quietly made their way over. Somehow they managed to avoid being detected and it wasn't long before they were at the side of the ambulance.

"What's the plan?" Steve whispered once there, "Walk up to the guy and ask him if it was Eddie that attacked him or some blood thirsty monster?"

"Pretty much" Nancy shrugged as she walked round to the back of the ambulance confidently. The others looked at each other surprised, but quickly followed.

Suddenly they were all face to face with a very surprised middle aged man who had a bandage wrapped tightly around his neck and a drip in his arm. Medical staff were busy with paper work and checking on the mans stats.

"Thank god you haven't been taken to hospital yet" Nancy exclaimed as she sighed with relief.

"I'm refusing to go" the man answered awkwardly, "I'm sorry but, how did a bunch of kids get here? Do I know you?"

"Yeah...I mean no, no you don't know us but we kind of, snuck in..." Steve answered honestly.

"But we have a good reason!" Nancy interrupted him quickly so that the man wouldn't call for the authorities.

"Well it would have to be a really good one for you to want to be any where near to this place at the moment" the man spoke again after a moment, "What do you want?"

"We're writing an article for our school paper..." Nancy began with excuses.

"You must be really dedicated to this paper to put your lives on the line like this" the man cut her off, "With a blood thirsty maniac out their and then to break into a crime scene like this..."

"Well you see" Robin began suddenly sounding really professional, "The victim from this morning was one of our close friends" she lied, "We're just trying to get any information we can to help keep our other school mates safe from this...creep"

"I see...I'm sorry to hear that" the man sounded genuinely sympathetic, "But I'm not sure I can help you..."

"Just tell us what the attacker looked like?" Dustin cut him off sharply with his suggestion. He tried his hardest not to come off as rude, but he didn't think he had succeeded in that, "S...sorry..."

"I understand your impatience" the man sighed, "But I didn't really get a clear look at his face...I...I know I'm going to sound crazy, but all I saw was his fangs and the blood dripping down his chin... I was to scared to take my eyes off of them..."

"Fangs?" Robin asked, a hint of fear in her voice, "Like...vampire fangs?" she made a weird hand gesture with her two pointer fingers near to her mouth.

"Well, I wouldn't say they were like vampire fangs... at least not like the ones you read in stories. More like, just very sharpened canine teeth. If that makes sense?"

"I guess it does..." Nancy answered thoughtfully with a concerned look on her face.

"Is there anything else you can tell us?" Dustin asked quickly before the man realised he was saying a little to much.

"How did you end up being attacked?" Steve decided it was better to start at the beginning.

"Well I walked into the store" the man began, "And I noticed this creature..." He obviously meant the attacker, "Well...drinking the clerks...blood... I froze in fear at first, but then I realised I needed to help. I picked up a sign and smacked it over the guys head. He turned and hissed at me, that's when I noticed the teeth, before he pounced on me knocking me to the ground... I guess he didn't like how it tasted or had had enough... because he got off of me quickly enough after ripping into my throat. The guy was weird after that, he seemed like a normal person who had just realised that they had done something wrong. He told me to help the clerk...that man, creature, thing! Could actually speak like a normal human! I went to help the clerk and he took the opportunity to grab some things and run out of the store. That was the last I saw of him..."

"Wow, that's quite a story..." Steve whistled with disbelief.

"I told you that you wouldn't believe me..." the man sighed, "I doubt anyone will"

"Oh! I...I never said I don't believe you" Steve quickly excused himself, "It's just a crazy story...that's all..."

"Stop talking..." Nancy warned him as she rolled her eyes.

"Yep..." Steve agreed.

"Could you tell us what he was wearing" Dustin asked now, "Anything could help"

"As I said, I didn't really notice much. All I can tell you is he had a black hood covering his head" he thought for a moment before realisation hit, "Oh! And he covered his face before he left, with a bandanna..."

Everyone's worlds began to spin. They had just gotten the last bit of Information they needed to solidify their beliefs. The only item of clothing that they had noticed missing from the bundle of clothes they had found, that they knew Eddie had been wearing in the upside down, was his bandanna.

"Thank you for your help" Dustin finished before he started walking away in a daze.

"Huh?" Steve and the others watched on surprised. They glanced around each other and Steve nodded to the girls as if to say, 'I have this' and went after Dustin whilst they thanked the man and said their goodbyes.

He caught up quickly, just as Dustin was stepping under the crime scene tape. Steve could tell his friend was deflated and over thinking the scenario.

"Hey" he greeted him as he began to walk at Dustin's side, "Want to talk about it?"

"Not really..." Dustin answered, not reacting to Steve's presence at all.

"Ok... then I'll talk" Steve began, "I'm going to guess your wondering what the hell Eddie is doing going around attacking people...am I right?"

Dustin glanced at Steve but said nothing.

"I'm also going to guess that you want to know why he hasn't bothered to come to tell you that's he's back, or even that he's alive?"

"Ok...yes Steve, yes I am thinking that!" Dustin finally confirmed once they had reached the car again, "I mean.. what the hell? I thought we were friends. I bent over backwards to make sure he stayed safe from Jason and his posse! I'm certain he died...you were certain he had died...So how the hell is he back? And why hasn't he come to see me to say he's back? But the more I think about what that man said...the more I'm coming to realise. What ever has come back might be using Eddies body but it is not Eddie! Eddie wouldn't attack people and he certainly wouldn't want to drink their blood!"

"The man also said that the attacker seemed really concerned once he had come back to his senses" Steve offered trying to be as comforting as possible, "That proves that the real Eddie is still there"

"I don't know, my heads all over the place" Dustin sighed, "I just want things to be like they used to be. I just want Eddie to be alive and normal and making new DnD campaigns. None of this...this shit!"

"Well as normal as he was..." Steve tried to joke but stopped abruptly when Dustin gave him a death glare, "Look, we'll find him, and we'll get the answers you are looking for. If it turns out he's turned into some kind of monster, well, we'll just find away to change him back!"

"The only thing that could have possibly made him a monster, is Vecna. So that means that arsehole is still alive and the only way we'd even stand a chance of getting Eddie back would be to actually kill Vecna once and for all"

"Maybe...or maybe we El could do it" Steve suggested, "We all know she's powerful. Maybe she can get the real Eddie back"

"But El lost her powers remember? And in case you forgot also, she isn't here!" Dustin rolled his eyes before going to get into the car.

"But she will be" Nancy's voice came sailing at them as she suddenly appeared next to them with Robin.

"What do you mean?" Steve asked confused.

"I should have told you all earlier but with everything going on, I forgot" Nancy continued, "I got a call from Jonathan yesterday. He, Mike, Will and Eleven, are all on their way back to Hawkins. They should get here tomorrow"

"Really?" Dustin asked excitedly.

"Yeah, really?" Steve also asked but more subdued. He was a little upset that Nancy's boyfriend was going to be back, "How come?"

"To help. Apparently there was this big thing and El managed to get her powers back, and now their on their way back here. They said they'd explain more once they've arrived"

"This is good" Dustin continued, "El will be able to use her powers to locate Eddie and then we'll hopefully be able to help him become himself again!"

"Hopefully" Steve smiled sympathetically for his friend. He and the others didn't have the heart to tell Dustin that it might not work. As much as Steve had tried to convince Dustin that El was the best idea they had, he didn't know if it would even work himself. On top of that, none if them had the heart to tell him that if Eddie decided to keep attacking people, they may have to kill him themselves. For now though, they decided to let Dustin have his little bit of happiness, they knew he needed it.

Eddie laid on the rickety old bed that belonged to the abandoned cabin. Open sandwich boxes and his Cheetos packet were strewn over the floor, still full. His coke was spilt on the floor next to him as well. He laid with his arm covering his eyes whilst the other was flopped at his side. He had tried eating normal food, he really had. But each bite had made him feel sick, it tasted like dirt and nothing like what he remembered. So now he knew that it wasn't just the old food that was left here that tasted like garbage, it was all food. To top it off, he still craved blood, even after getting it from three people in the same day, though he didn't exactly get much from the last one. His stomach rumbled sending him into further turmoil.

"Please..." Eddie begged himself out loud, "Please, I don't want to hurt anyone else..."

He sat up and looked around the room. He was done. Maybe he should just go and jump off of a cliff or something. No wait, he had another idea.

"Vecna!" Eddie shouted out loud, "I know you can hear me! I'm done. I'm not going to be your puppet, find someone else!"

He hadn't heard from Vecna since he had first arrived back in Hawkins. He didn't even know if this would work, but he was willing to try.

"Nothing is worth living like this! Screw your plan, screw revenge and most of all, screw you!"

"Your being very noisy" Vecna's voice suddenly spoke in Eddie's head. He sounded extremely irritated, "I'm afraid your already tied into my plan, or have you forgotten about our agreement?"

"Fuck you!" Eddie cursed at him, "What the hell have you done to me? Your making me drink people's blood like some kind of Vampire! Are you sick in the head? In fact don't answer that...its obvious you are...you might as well kill me now. I have no intentions of helping you anymore!"

"Ah yes, did I forget to mention that the creature inside your body craves blood?" Vecna sounded amused, "I'm afraid it's adapted your body so that it can feed. You would do well to feed it daily, otherwise you'll find yourself losing all control and just going on a rampage. Not that I would object to that..."

"Is this a joke to you?" Eddie fumed, slightly horrified to the fact that he was supposed to feed on blood daily. He wasn't going to do that! He felt shit enough as it was for attacking innocent people, "I've hurt three people already, all in the same day! And its still not satisfied!" He argued, "I'm not doing it again and I refuse to work for you!"

"You've made the mistake of ignoring your instincts. You should have been feeding since you got back. The creature is ravenous, what did you expect? Your appetite will always win in the end. I'm afraid your going to have to keep feeding until satisfied, then you should be able to keep control of yourself...if you want to that is?" Eddie could practically picture the smirk on Vecnas face just by listening to his voice.

"I already told you, that's not going to happen! So either kill me now, or I'll just do it myself. Either way, I know I'm not going to get out of this alive..." Eddie spoke quietly as he excepted his fate.

"And what of your friend? Chrissy was it?" Vecna asked catching Eddie off guard, "Does she not concern you anymore?"

"Chri...Chrissy's dead and never coming back" Eddie shot back, "I don't believe you have any intentions of honouring that deal!"

"Oh really?"

Eddie stood and watched in amazement as Chrissy began to slowly appear in front of him. She was still for a moment, eyes closed, but the moment she was fully manifested, her eyes opened and focused straight on Eddie. Not knowing what the hell was happening and wondering if he was seeing things, Eddie rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times. Seeing that Chrissy was still visible, he just stared at her not knowing what to do.

"Eddie?" Chrissy spoke after a moment. A sudden smile spread across her face as she ran up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, "I'm so sorry you had to witness my death like that. It must have been horrible!"

Eddie stood frozen for a moment, all signs were telling him that this was in fact the real Chrissy. From the way he could hear her heart beating, to the way he could smell her sweet Vanilla scent. Her body left its warmth on him as she pulled away to look at him again.

"That can't be you..." Eddie finally spoke after what seemed like a lifetime.

"It is" Chrissy smiled before her face became serious, "Though this is only temporary. If you want it to be more permanent, you'll have to help Vecna out"

'I...I can't...I can't live like this...I don't like hurting people..." Eddie choked.

"You mean the people that were glad to see the back of you? The same people who were happy to hunt you down? The same people who would have probably killed you if they were given the chance? The same people who haven't shed a single tear for your death?"

"Alright I get it!" Eddie cut her off as each word she spoke stung more and more.

"Most probably didn't even know you had died. I bet your so called friends didn't bother to tell anyone. Not even they mourned you" Chrissy continued.

"Stop... please" Eddie begged as he walked over to the bed and sat down covering his ears with his hands so that he couldn't hear her. However, thanks to his upgraded hearing, he could hear her perfectly fine.

"Your willing to let me, someone that's on your side and will stick by you once this world turns to hell, to remain dead! Your picking this traitorous town over me!"

"Stop!" Eddie begged one last time sounding strained, "I...I haven't picked the town over you...I want to die to...I'd be joining you!"

"I want to live again Eddie" Chrissy continued sounding more sympathetic, "I want to live in the new world that you will help Vecna create. You only need to bring him Eleven, then it's all over. But if you want to accomplish that, you need to keep feasting on the people that would only kill you instead if given the chance. You need to keep a straight head, don't let that thing inside you take over completely. If you did that, you will only hurt more people"

"But..."

"I don't blame you for my death Eddie" Chrissy sounded a little more stern again, "But I will blame you if you don't give me the chance I'm asking for and let me remain dead. That will be your fault!"

Eddie felt instantly numb at her last words. He didn't want that. He didn't want to lose his last ally. Seeing that her words were finally getting through to him, Chrissy smirked before speaking again.

"This town is to good for you. Look at that girl you attacked earlier. What was her name?"

"Sarah..." Eddie spoke quietly as he stared blankly.

"She had already judged you. She called you a murderer, she was scared of you before she even knew what you were capable of. That's all thanks to the rumours that everyone is circulating around town"

She was right. Eddie may have scared her by jumping out of the trees the way he did. But she had already judged him before she had even met him, all thanks to gossip. He felt his anger begin to build again.

"And then that store clerk, he wouldn't even give you a chance. Branded you a thief just because you refused to show him your face! The old guy that hit you with a sign! None of them knew you, but they had already made up their minds. And don't forget, everyone's judging stares as you walked past them. This town doesn't want you, so why should you care about what happens to them?"

"Your right..." Eddie finally agreed as he clenched his fists.

"Your friends don't want you either, you heard them after they discovered you were back. They said you were better off dead. Now that can't have felt nice for you, could it?"

"No..." Eddie now gritted his teeth.

"So use that anger and have some fun whilst you hunt down Eleven. Make this town tremble in fear, make your friends regret leaving you the way they did. Make Vecna bring me back for good. I promise I will never fail you the way they all did. Its only fair after all..." Chrissy smirked again.

"Fine" Eddie stood up again sounding determined, "But when this is all done, Vecna better come through on his promises. Or I'll kill him myself!"

"I'm sure that won't happen" Chrissy finished with an evil glint in her eyes as she began to fade away again, "Hopefully, I'll be seeing you again soon Edward" were her last words to him.

Taking a deep breath, Eddie had come to a decision. If this Demobat inside him wanted a feast, the he would give it a feast. He would find this Eleven as soon as he was able and once Vecna had finally gotten what he wanted, Eddie would finally get what he wanted. He opened the Cabin door and marched out, town was his destination.
