CHAPTER 1 |
NOTES:
AS AN ATTEMPT TO START OVER, FELIX ARRIVES IN A NEW TOWN. HE TRIES HIS BEST TO FIT IN, BUT TURNS OUT IT'S A LOT EASIER SAID THAN DONE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THERE'S NO HOPE, UNTIL HE APPEARS
That evening Felix wonders about the man. Why had he stared at him like that before? What was wrong? Did he mess something up already? Was he wrong for staring back? He should have continued on with what he was doing, Unfortunately, something interrupted his deep thought. A swift brush against the window, not too much though, something you could easily forget, or brush off as if nothing happened, and that's what he did.
Not a lot was going on, the only thing he worried about was the man that stared at him so intensely earlier that morning. Why can't things just go right for him? Maybe things would feel a lot better if he did a bit of rearranging around the 'humble' abode he's wanted for so long, too long. He drifted down the hallway just as he did before, then layed on the stained mattress. Gross, yet comfortable. Closing his eyes, he falls into a good night's rest of sweet dreams full of tons of things he loves. Family, friends, hom—is what he wishes he could have done.
He wakes up restlessly, not getting any sleep. Something about this house just threw him off. He was frightened that if he even rested for a second something in which he couldn't decide whether was good or bad would happen. Soon enough he fell asleep, but not without the discomfort, of course. He had a terrible nightmare, a nightmare where he had met the man again, and again, and again. . .He'd tell him the same thing over and over.
"It's not real."
This frightened him. It had frightened him so much that he woke up in a cold sweat, 9:00am sharp. Feeling the chills run down his spine, he makes a decision. He decided that it was time to declutter the house. He had been there since yesterday morning, he couldn't live like this for another day. He didn't know if he'd last. He got up and began cleaning immediately. The life he had once wanted was becoming more than just a fantasy. It was real this time, it wasn't a dream.
As he walked out to his car, headed to the store, he feared that the man would appear across the road again, waiting for the right moment to-
'Geez, what am I thinking? I must really be getting into the goosebumps thing.'
Fortunately for him, he wasn't. A breath of relief slipped out through his lips as he sat down in his black Jeep covered with multiple anime fandom stickers. He pulls off onto the main road, examining almost everything in his line of sight. Soon, he pulled into a grocery store near a coffee shop on 5th avenue. He steps inside grabbing everything on the list.
Suddenly, he spotted a boy, with blonde hair and a jacket wrapped around his neck. He quickly forced his eyes the other way as he turned around. He goes to the checkout, and sees him again. He tries to ignore him, seeing as though he looked familiar. He thinks about talking to him, but no, he would just get embarrassed and everyone would notice him as the 'weirdo' in town again. He didn't want to ruin his reputation for the second time, so he left it alone. He walked to his car wondering if his theory was correct. Had they met before?
By now it's pretty obvious that he's a curious person. He slowly stepped out of the car carrying grocery bags on his arm. At this point he had forgotten about the man, the new topic playing in his brain was that boy, but he knew there was no time to waste. He started to clean straight away, trying not to spend the rest of the day dwelling on the event at the store. So, he did everything he could to get that boy off of his mind for the time being.
