The Unwritten Rules
There are two unwritten rules that Batman (Bruce Wayne) expects the Justice League and Young Justice to follow, always have your team members back and no dating with in the team. Batman said dating within the team would compromise the mission. That is why no one on Young Justice told Batman there was dating with in the team, for fear of him breaking the team up, luckily the other mentors weren't so difficult and agreed to keep their secret, unless it compromised them.
Meeting the family
Wally was nervous, The Rogues wanted to meet Babs, she knew his family, except for his villain family. He heard laughter behind him and turned to see his Uncle, Barry Allen (The Flash). "I can hear you think from here, kid, it's going to be fine." Wally frowned at his Uncle, and muttered under his breath, "Thanks, Uncle Barry." Just then the doorbell rang and a few seconds later, Wally's Aunt, Iris West-Allen, walked in with Babs. Wally walked over to Babs and kissed her on the cheek. "Now you kids have fun," Aunt Iris said, "and I have baked some cookies for you to take with. Remind Mick, that I would like my container back." "Yes, Aunt Iris." Wally said exasperatedly, wishing he could roll his eyes. Barry seemed to know what Wally was thinking, because he had an amused expression on his face. After they said their goodbyes, Wally and Babs were on their way to The Rogues hideout. "You have an interesting relationship with your villains," Babs said in a puzzled tone. Wally rubbed the back of his head sheepishly before answering. "The Rogues are not villains. They not like the monsters you see in Gotham and Star, they don't believe in killing or hurting women and children. They rob for fun, not profit." They walked in silence before Babs said thoughtfully, "So it's more of a game between The Flash family and The Rouges, to see who can win." "I guess you can say that," Wally said, stopping in front of a door and knocking. The door was flung open by James Jesse (The Trickster). "Nice to see you too, James!" Wally said, gasping for air, as James hugged Wally happily, eager to spend time with his superhero friend. "Easy there James, you don't want to squash Wallaby!" said a grinning Digger Harkness (Captain Boomerang) intervening. "Sorry baby Flash" James said. "Not a baby, James," Wally muttered, rubbing his arm pretending to be annoyed. This caused Babs to giggle and catching Digger's attention, "You must be the young lady who caught our young Wallaby's fancy, come in, come in." Digger led them to the lounge and started making introductions pointing to each of The Rogues intern, "This Leonard Snart (Captain Cold), that's Mick Rory (Heat Wave) in the kitchen, Sam Scudder (Mirror Master) and Hartley Rathaway (Pied Piper)." They had all greeted her politely. "I am Barbara Gordon, nice to meet you." "I am going to give Mick these cookies, be nice." Wally said in warning, "Aunt Iris made cookies!" James said, jumping up from the floor where he was siting, following Wally out the room. "Your father is Commissioner Gordon?" Len asked, "What if is Mr Snart?" Babs said a bit defensively. Everyone exchanged looks. "Please call me Len. We are not interested in Gotham, I believe your father is one of the good cops" Babs relaxed "Are you one of the capes? We won't be offended if you don't tell us. Furthermore, we only interested in our heroes." Hartley spoke from the corner, where he was busy on his laptop getting floor plans for a heist. There was a pause before she softly said, "Wally trusts you with his secret, and yes, I am a cape. I am Batgirl, and no, I am not telling you Batman and Robin's identity." They just laughed and Sam said, "Like the boss said, we are not interested in what goes on in Gotham, but welcome to the family, baby bat." Just then Mick came in saying lunch was ready. Wally had heard them call her baby bat, just like they called him baby flash. He had worried about nothing. Everything was going to be fine.
Kidnapped
Secrets have a nasty way of coming out, and that is why Batman was at the cave. The team was gathered around Batman except Batgirl. "During petrol last night, Batgirl was kidnapped by Poison Ivy." Batman said in a gravelly voice, his voice void of emotion. "I will handle this on my own," he said, looking pointedly at Robin and the team. Wally felt like his world was shattering, Robin placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "She is a member of this team, and we are going to help." Wally said with determination. Batman rubbed the space between his eyes before saying in an annoyed voice, "Kid Flash, this is Gotham business. You will not interfere. I know about your and Batgirl's romantic history. I was going to do this when we found her, but you both suspend from the team pending investigation." There was a shocked gasp. "Then you will have to suspend us," said Robin and Zatanna stepping forward holding hands. "Us too," M'gann and Conner giving each other a loving kiss. Finally, Aqualad and Artemis stepped forward saying, "It looks like you're going to have disband the team, since we all dating." "So be it, I will be speaking to your mentors." Batman said leaving. "So, what is the plan?" Artemis asked, "I know of some people who can help us, but you have to keep an open mind." "For Babs!" Robin said
They found themselves outside a bar called Saints & Sinners. "And who do you expect to help us at a bar?" Artemis asked, using sarcasm to hide her worry. "I have to agree with Artemis on this," Zatanna said, frowning. Wally scowled and said in an annoyed tone, I told you to keep an open mind. Trust me." "Very well Wally," Kaldur, said in his usual calming voice, "We will trust you." Just then Conner tensed up saying, "Can you hear that? Someone is there." They braced themselves for an attack when The Rouges stepped forward. Only Robin and Wally relaxed. Wally looked at his team, saying, "You can relax guys, they're going to help us get Batgirl back." The team put their weapons away but didn't relax. "What happened?" Captain Cold asked, "Batgirl was captured by Poison Ivy, Kid Flash suggested we request your help in getting her back." Aqualad said, "We will help you get her back." Mirror Master said, and with that he disappeared into the mirrorverse. "We cannot all go with, there are simply too many of us." Miss Martian stated. "I will go with," Captain Cold began, "Robin, Miss Martian, Zatanna, Mirror Master and Heatwave will come too." Wally was not happy, but just nodded with the rest. Mirror Master reappeared and said smugly, "I found her. Poison Ivy is in an abandon green house near Gotham Zoo." "We will wait here for you, keep us posted." Captain Boomerang said, "We can't go into the bar!" Artemis said scandalised. Superboy just rolled his eyes giving Artemis a deadpan look before going into the bar. "Why?" Trickster asked, "No one in the bar is going to care about your age. Me and Piper are the same age as you." Artemis couldn't think of a good argument and followed the rest of the team into the bar. In the meantime, the rescue team disappeared into the mirrorverse.
The Rescue
"Ok, bird boy," Captain Cold said in his usual monotone voice, "your town, your villain, so you're in charge." Robin nodded determinedly, before turning to M'gann saying "Link us up." "Everyone online?" M'gann asked "Yes", everyone chorused. "This is weird," Heat wave said, feeling unnerved, clutching the side of his head. "Don't worry, you get use to it," Zatanna said sympathetically, speaking to the pyromaniac telepathically. "Here is what we're going to do," Robin began, "Mirror Master is going to take The Rogues in using the Mirrorverse. When they in Captain Cold and Heat Wave will start burning and freezing, Ivy's attack vine. The rest of us will go in and look for Batgirl. Her plants are poisonous, I do have an antidote, but I would rather not anyone need it." The Rogues dispersed into the mirrorverse and Zatanna used a cloaking spell on them before they went into the greenhouse.
They slunk slowly out of the mirrorverse, Poison Ivy seemed to sense their presence, "Well, well, if it isn't the wannabe villains from Central City." Poison Ivy said in a slow, sarcastic drawl. "What brings you to Gotham?" "Us wannabes?" Heat Wave said, raising his eyebrows, "Is this bitch serious?" "We ain't wannabe anything!" Mirror Master said smugly, "The Rouges have had more successful heists than you will ever have." Captain Cold cut them both off with a sharp look and shot his cold gun at the nearest vine, causing it to freeze and break. "We're thinking of expanding and what to get rid of the computation by getting rid of you." Captain Cold lied through his teeth. Turning to The Rogues, he said, "You know what to." "About time," said Heat with evil maniacal laughter, setting fire to the chemical solution near him, causing an explosion. "My babies!" Poison Ivy cried out in pain, trying to fend The Rogues off, but failing. She was no match for The Rogues. As Mirror Master planted explosives in strategic points, he set them to explode when they were safely out. "We have Batgirl, we will meet you outside" they heard Robin speaking to them telepathically. "Fun's over, let's go." Ordered Captain Cold, grabbing a frozen Poison Ivy.
"The guards are over there" Zatanna said. "Batgirl might be there." "Do you think you can knock them out Miss M?" Robin asked as Miss Martian nodded. They cased the surrounding area, cheeking for cameras and guards before going into the building. Zatanna removed the cloaking spell. Robin threw birdarangs as they went deeper into the building. "There she is!" Miss Martian said floating towards an unconscious Batgirl. "Miss M, levitate her, I will let The Rouges know we found Batgirl and to meet us outside."
Everyone meet safely outside. Everyone glared at Poison Ivy, now frozen in a solid break of ice. The all watched the greenhouse explode and burn. Miss Martian, who had the foresight to have the bio-ship meet them, said "She is here I am going to take Batgirl on board so long." "Thank you for help." Robin said, shaking Captain Cold's hand. The Rogues nodded, disappearing into the mirrorverse. "KF," Robin said, pressing the button on his com-link, "We have her, let everyone know and meet us back at the cave."
Breaking Rules
As soon as the Bio-Ship landed, Babs was rushed to the medical wing. Wally only left her side when Robin came and said Batman wanted to see them. Wally went into the lounge to see their mentors, this meeting is about disbanding the team. "Now just a moment bats," Flash said, "the team as proven themselves more than cable of putting their emotions aside when it comes to missions." "I have to agree with Flash on this," Superman said interjecting, "You will be outvoted, if you don't want responsibility for the team any more one of us will be more than happy to take over." Superman added, surprising Conner by putting a hand on his shoulder in support. "Let me get this straight," Batman said in silent anger. "You all knew and never said anything." The all nodded in pride. "Fine, the team can continue, but if a mission is compromised you will be suspended." Batman said, leaving the room. Wally in the meantime had gone back to Babs kissed on the forehead saying it was going to be ok.
Two weeks had passed and Babs was fully healed and given a full bill of health. "Are you ready?" Aqualad asked. They all nodded, boarding the bio-ship for their next mission.
