Chapter 1:
Valentines day, one of Jack's least favourite days. All the romance and people asking you that silly question makes him wanna hurl. He slumps into his kitchen where SARAH greets him.
"Good morning sheriff Carter. What a splendid day." . Jack grabbed his coffee and said: "Morning SARAH. Remind me the purpose of Valentines day." He asked. "Valentines day, the annual festival to celebrate love, friendship and admiration to those you love.".
Jack rolls his shoulder blades. "Right. Another reason I hate it.". He made sure to drop Zoe at school and then drove to the office where he found his robot deputy, Andy. "Morning boss." The deputy said as his friendly self. Jack smiles as he sits down. "Andy. Got anything to keep me busy?" he asked. Andy then handed his boss two envelopes. "This came in today.".
Jack took the envelopes and opened them. Inside both were white cards with red and pink patterns. Confused he opened one card and read it.
Dear Jack:
Sense you came to Eureka, I felt a sudden connection to you. We might've got off on the wrong foot, but I learned to know the real you, not the handsome US Marshall. You protected this town for years and did it with a smile. And I hope you the best of Valentines Days.
Be my Valentine.

Jack couldn't believe it, the last time he got a Valentines day card was in college. Opening the other one he read it.
My beloved Jack:
You are the bravest, kindest, warmest, most handsome man I ever encountered. You are the finest sheriff Eureka ever had. And I hope it will always be so. Sense we met, you were in my mind. Any girl will be lucky to have you as her other half.

Jack didn't like this. "Two Valentines day cards on the same day. If I got two secret admirers on the loose, I can get myself in a situation.". He placed the cards in his bottom drawer and sat there with his news paper.
His phone rang and he answered. "Carter. On my way.". He got up and waved over to his deputy. "Come on Andy.". Andy was right behind him. Walking through the GD Building, Jack met up with Fargo. "Fargo, hey Uhh, what's with the decorations?". Fargo looked at him bluntly. "Uh, Valentines Day, the most romantic day of the year.".
Jack groaned. "I know that, but, why in the building?". Fargo shrugs. "I have no idea. Doctor Blake suggested it. I think she wants to spice things up in the building.". Jack then decided to head directly to Allison's office. He got there and Allison met up with him. "Carter.". Jack walked next to her. "Allison.".
Jack didn't understand why but, Allison acted out of the ordinary. Jack decided to let it slide. "So, what's the big emergency?" he asked. Allison got to the point. "The Valentines Day party is being held in Café Diem, I was wondering you were available to… … keep watch." She covered what she really wanted to say.
Jack crossed his arms. "Yeah. Why not.". Allison then told him to go check on Taggart, who was in his lab all weekend. Jack went down to the lab and unlocked the door. He walked in and a wave of pink dust dunks right into his face. "Urgh!".
