Chapter 3:
The party went on, people dancing, Jack at the bar. Jo sitting next to him the whole time, they were mostly talking, Allison was watching them, and jealous didn't describe her. She was beyond that point.
Jack on the other hand, didn't notice, he was busy talking to his friend. As Jo looked over to Allison, she then turned back to Carter. "Care to dance at the next round?". Jack smiled: "Sure.". The music was slow again, Jack stood up, holding his hand out. Jo took it and they walked up to the dancefloor.
But Jack felt different this time, he knew Jo loved dancing, but he kept feeling that there was a reason why Allison and Jo only danced with him. He didn't pursuit the thought, he just enjoyed himself. "You look nice tonight." He pointed out. It was a regular dress she was wearing, nothing special, but it did what she was hoping for, getting the Sherriff's attention.
She had to admit, she had her sights on him for a while now, so did Allison, which made things complicated.
After the dance, Jo suggested that they get some space. So now they were standing outside the café, over looking the stars. One blinked by. Jack then said: "A shooting star on Valentines Day. Guess a wish will have to be made.". Jo then made her wish in silent, hoping it to come true.
The door from behind opened and Henry along with Grace came out. "Oh, didn't know this spot was occupied." Henry said. But Jack then spoke in kind: "There's room for more.". The four of them stood outside, watching the stars.
Henry had to admit, whenever Jack was either around Jo or Allison, he would bring a side out that was unnatural, especially for a small town sheriff. Allison watched from inside. "Okay Jo, let the best girl win.".
After the party, Jack was walking down main street, enjoying the midnight breeze. Hands in his pocket a huge smile on his face. He didn't feel this good in a while, maybe he misjudged Valentines Day after all. He walked all the way home, he decided he will fetch his jeep in the morning.
He walked down the stairs to his room, only to find a glitch-y holographic sock over the not so real doorknob. "Very funny SARAH." He said with a chuckle. So he just sat on the stairs for a while. The door opened and a satisfied Andy walked out.
No for the walk of shame.
"Boss, I didn't expect you to be back this early.". Jack then decided to have fun with Andy. "Do you call for hours early?". Andy got the hint and said: "Very funny boss. See you in the morning.". Andy left with a light skip in his step.
Jack walked in found SARAH to be silent. Ignoring it he head up stairs, tomorrow will be an interesting day.
