Chapter 14 - Fate of a Guardian

Four warriors stood as if in a death match against an enemy that seemed to brim with darkness. But the warriors they seem to be glowing their weapons and themselves lit with the very elements they welded; Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. This was the scene the four brothers all stared at as if it was frozen in time, and as the four brothers eyes scan the scene before them they paused at the enemy these warriors were facing.

"THE SHREDDER!" All four seemed to yell in unison. That was when a light appeared and before them stood Splinter and a silver like fox creature.

"My sons!" Splinter said his eyes ears perked up and his eyes seemed to twinkle with happiness. The four brothers all ran to Splinter and hug him.

"What is going on Master?" Leo asked, he wanted nothing more than to hold Raphael to admit his feelings and to never let him go. Leo laid his ocean blue eyes upon those ambers and he knew Raph was thinking the same thing.

"My sons, this is Kumi a Spirit Guardian who is supposed to protect this realm from intruders." Splinter said.

Kumi nodded his two tails twitching in annoyance, " Yes if Derius didn't lock me away, now it appears you are able to effectively use both your powers and Raphael's abilities as one quite well Leonardo. I did not think you would bring everyone here."

"And what is here exactly?" Leonardo ask as he shifted himself closer to Raph.

"There are many different dimensions and alternate universes out there, this is what we would call a pocket of time. A moment where so much magic and spiritual energy merge together to create another plane of existence. This is the last battle of the great Elemental Guardians against the Shredder a great and powerful demon lord." As Kumi said that everyone looked at the scene before them.

Raphael couldn't take it anymore, he pulled Leo close to him and said "fuck it!" before pulling the quite surprised leader in a kiss. It did not take long for Leo to succumb to the kiss and even deepen it, the scent of Raphael filling his nose. He pulled Raphael closer dominating the kiss now trying to drink in the warmth that Raphael was giving off his hands trailing down the shell towards the tail.

Suddenly Leo felt a wack on his head and found himself staring at an annoyed Master Splinter, "I understand you and Raphael have a strong spiritual connection that is beyond that of brothers Leonardo, but please remember as your father I do not wish to witness such a display. When you two are alone you can both continue."

"Yes Master," Leo said blushing, he then glance towards Don and Mikey to gauge their reaction, Raph whispered to Leo, "Don't worry those two been together for awhile apparently." Leo blinked and turn to Raph looking quite surprise, "What?!"

Kumi looked amused at the whole display, "well guess it's time you all know the full story - Raphael you were once known as Suzaku fire warrior of the phoenix spirit, Leonardo you were once Seiyuu the water warrior of the dragon spirit, Donatello you were Genbu the earth warrior of the turtle spirit, and Michelangelo you were Byakko the wind warrior of the tiger spirit. You were the Elemental Guardians protectors of the two realms, The Mortal Realm and the Realm of Magic."

"This is too crazy!" Don said, "I mean I just accepted the existence of magic and now your saying there are different realms what am I supposed to believe?"

"Even though your mind questions it Donatello, I bet you know in your spirit it is true. After all you saw what you were able to do?" Kumi responded instantly the only sign he was somewhat annoyed was the twitch of his tails.

Donnie nodded his mind thinking back where he fell. When he awoke there was an explosion of life, the flowers, the plants the grass seeming to have appeared out of nowhere. Don knew it was his magic that summon all that life, "even so, why are we back? Why did we get reborn?"

Kumi tail twitch a few times as if he was thinking of something, "my best understanding is because back then your former selves could not defeat the Shredder and his demons, you had to give up your very lives to lock him away to take his spirit to the Spiritual Plane. However…" he paused, "your warrior of fire possesses the powers of the Phoenix so when you combine your powers to take the Shredder down you all ended up tied to the Phoenix cycle of rebirth. Normally new warriors are chosen except for the one of fire but that appears to have changed."

"But," Mikey said eyes wide as his mind quickly made the connections from comic stories, "that would mean the Shredder…"

"Yes the demon Lord Shredder was reborn as well, Derius is only the beginning pretty soon the barrier that separates the realms will weaken and your fate will be determine to fight your enemy once again."

Silence followed as they all begin to try and break this down in their minds.

Splinter looked at his sons wishing he could somehow take the burden off their shoulders they have been given.

Leonardo stared at his blades, he would make sure they would succeed this time no sacrifices needed.

Donatello tried to logically explain how ridiculous this was in his head but as Kumi said he knew it was true he just somehow did.

Michelangelo was starting to think their lives would make a great comic book series...but in all reality he was scared for his family and what this truly means.

Raphael just stood there no anger or rage this time just acceptance as if deep down he knew in his own soul this was his fate over and over again.

Then something seem to happen the scene before them faded away and they all stood before Derius.
