a/n: This was an english assignment, written about a year ago, based on Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. This is a letter from Shylock to Antonio.
For many a year thou hast taunted me,
Thou hast spat on my land and myself
And now thou wanst me to share with thee
Monies thou could not earn by thyself?
My blood taints my land and thine shoes
Thine curses never cease to haunt my mind
Thy tongue shoots out never-ending abuse
And thou art expecting me to be kind?
Although thou art not deserving of any prize
I refuse to stoop down to thy level
And blight and ill-treat the one I despise
Nor shall I become thy personal devil.
I shall give thee the monies on only one rule:
Thou must return them to me or thy end will be cruel.
